Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

My favorite local Mexican spot. I recommend the Horchata (hope i spelled that correctly) for something to drink, non alcoholic. Their burritos are good, my favorite kind is "al pastor" which is pork gyro. Tacos are really good as well.

I've eaten here many times and the food and the service is amazing. The prices are good and the food is very fresh. I love the veggie burrito and guacamole. It's a hidden secret and don't be discouraged by the location. Don't forget to try the tacos on Tuesday!!

This used to be my go to Mexican spot but not after my last visit. I called in my order and went to pick up. My order was ready in about 10 minutes when I walked in. Friendly service as usually. Now the tacos. The chorizo was okay at best. Nothing great. The Asada was flavorless and worse I had barely any cilantro or onions. It didn't satisfy my taco craving.

Haven't been here in awhile, so must go again. But delicious from my past few experiences. The service is great, and so is the food! Especially for prices. Now I'm in the mood for some guac!

Decent Mexican food for cheap. I placed my food for take out because of the area it was in. The location was a little hard to find, and a bit sketchy. But the people working there were friendly, and food was prepared fairly quick. I probably won't come back again since the location is sort of far, however, if you are in the area definitely worth checking out a Mexican hole in the wall place such as this.

Nice people, tiny place. I had a veggie burrito, guacamole and pico de gallo. Burrito was ok, not enough beans, the guacamole and the pico must have been sitting there for a while, chips were SO fried.

This place is a hidden gem! A friend an I decided to take a gamble on this place based on the reviews, and despite being the cheapest, it is my favorite of 6 Mexican restaurants in Philly. The chorizo burrito was perfect, with just the right amount of creamy sauces smothered on top and flanked with crisp lettuce with a few slivers of green onions thrown in to give is some flavor. edit: I'm not sure if free water is an option here. But, I 'm fine with paying a dollar for the water since the food was well worth it.

I wish I knew about this place!! It's a tiny place in a random area but it's cuter in the inside than what it looks like on the out. Service is quick. Food is clean (at least it looks and tastes clean..) Cheap price The chips given with the red and green sauces are great. I got the soft shell tacos with chorizo and spicy chicken They really give you lots of meat. I actually wanted less of spicy chicken in mine. The chorizo taco was veryyyy good. Topping the red and/or green sauce with the tacos made it bettter. The loud latino music makes the food more authentic. I will DEF come back. I loved my experience here.

I went here for a work lunch. We actually ate inside of the restaurant. It was really good! The chips and salsa they give you in the beginning are mighty tasty. The spice levels were perfect. I could tell that they fry their own tortilla chips on the premises. The chips were so crisp and not overly salted. I decided to be adventurous and get something I haven't tried before and it turned out extremely well or me. For my entree, I got the shredded beef chimichanga. Oh boy it was delicious!! There were so many wonderful flavors. The beef was cooked perfectly and it was very tender and seasoned well. They put a powdered cheese on top which I thought was wierd at first but it really complemented the dish. The prices are great only $8 for my dish. I totally recommend this place and when I am in the area I will defintely grab some food to go.

Family-owned friendly restaurant with tasty food! The chips and salsa they bring out before is awesome and is refilled constantly! The green and red salsa is delicious. I'm a fan of the deshebrada (beef) and the spicy chicken (can't remember the name). All portions are huge! Interestingly, they sell random things at the counter like perfume and cologne. :) +1 star for saving Temple dental students from Subway and hospital food every day.

I was craving Mexican one day at work and the closest spot in the neighborhood was La Raza. The outside was well kept and the inside was spotless. The food was prepared quickly and was super tasty. What's even better is I found out they deliver. We are now ordering once a month from there and couldn't be happier about it!

Went for a second time the day after my first, which was two days ago. Tamales repeat (dry meat or not, they're really good), one chorizo taco on HOME MADE CORN TORTILLAS that are the best corn tortillas I've ever had, one tongue taco (try it: best. flavors. ever.), and more home made chips with the incredible salsa verde that I cannot ingest enough of. No shame in my game, having dinner there tonight.
