Yummy Puerto Rican food at a great price. I love the beef stew platter with yellow rice and beans. The meat is tender and well seasoned. The rice is fluffy and soft. It's so good! The area is a bit sketchy, so I recommend going earlier in the day. Also, it's a cash only spot, so come prepared.

Just moved back to New Jersey and have not eaten here in years. Food has always been outstanding and you can tell it is fresh not preserved. The only thing that was very disappointing was the potato balls they had no flavor and barely any meat inside. Fried chicken was awesome and so was the rice. I will be back more often now that I'm back in the neighborhood.

Anyone with half and ounce of the ability to spot a walkin' talkin' stereotype can deduce that I come from an Irish family. However, at least part of my heart and stomach is Puerto Rican. Spending my formative years and more growing up in the Bronx has ingrained in me a taste for the mofongo, forever. I have a real thing for all forms of plantains, oh, and of course, pork too. Between neighbors' cooking and neighborhood spots, forget it, I was virtually raised on the stuff and it's one of the things than I miss about my former Bronx-livin'. When that hankering for snacks of my youth hits me, up North 5th Street we drive to Porky's Point's take-out window. Not bad a'tall... This is the little home of inexpensive, tasty Puerto Rican fast food; pernil by the pound, or sandwiched on softer-than-I-like long rolls. It's a good sandwich though, and easily splittable, just make sure to ask for it cut in halfsies, otherwise it will come in one big sandwich. Though that roasted pork is fairly juicy and tender (and flecked with crispy skin crackles), I ask for extra gravy every time. I order extra gravy in every language, apparently. Un-surprising. Anway, Porky's "gravy," is a thin, garlicky, tomato-based sauce. It goes on everything along with the hot sauce that sits on the long stainless steel counter. I order that gravy poured on the mofongo, thus transforming it into a porridgey, and extra flavorful mash. I order it extra on the side as well, for every carb-bombing fritura for our Puerto Rican picnic in the park... tostones, papas rellenas, pastelilos, the occasional rice and beans platter...on and on. We take it all to go, usually end up driving to a park to find a bench or picnic table, as the options for dining at Porky's Point are nil... unless you wanna belly up to the counter to enjoy your comidas. Frankly, the fact that we typically plan to be feasting like animals keeps us from standing and hunching there. A real spectacle it would be. So, the point here... heh heh, the point... is that Porky's Point can sometimes really hits the mofongo spot. The roast pork spot too. Look for the sign with cute cartoon piggies serving up themselves.

Now It's Time to think outside the Neighborhood and bring food Critics like Andrew Zimmer to come Eat. Since Everybody's Running to Tierra Colombiana. It's Not fair Porky's Point gets Overlooked. If you're a Foodie this is Must! I would give it 5 Stars but some of the Menu needs to be tweaked to Perfection.

The staff is friendly and will explain for those who don't speak Spanish fluently. My food was okay, it's was similar to a beef patty but filled with chicken and pork; my daughter loved every bite. I'll probably try the chicken or pork chop next visit..

My sister in law took me here for lunch one day, not a very good area it is in, kinda hood, but the food was tasty. and fast so we got outta there really quickly. ordered the tostones... yummy, and they were cheaply priced, also had the chicken lunch special which came with rice and beans, also a good price and was very filling enough for about 3 people to eat.

Tostones, mofongo, pastellios, rice and beans, relleno de papa, platano con carne...the list goes on and on, if your craving some rican food then this is your place...and it's pretty inexpensive too, love this place! Matter a fact i'm about to go right now... FYI, this place is in an awkward spot, so when you get there, feel free to pull right up front on the sidewalk/driveway that doesn't look like a driveway, it's what everyone does around there. I usually don't eat there, i just grab and go if you will, I like eating on boat house row or in front of the art museum.

Wassup Puerto Rico!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Best Puerto Rican food I've ever had. Hot chicken, plaintains and pork empanadas that will make you glad you're a fat pig. I ate this take out food in the worst environment possible - In an non-air conditioned tow truck office on a 100 degree humid day - and it was still awesome. If you get stuck in this neighborhood I feel really, really bad for you...but if Porky's is near by you can at least eat something good before you get mugged.

I'm going to try and speak for the white people in Philadelphia that have eaten at Porky's and say...this place is amazing! I had no idea that Puerto Rican food was so good! I've been to Puerto Rico and I thought that was the only place to get authentic food, but of all the places I ate in Puerto Rico, this was actually better! It's a bit of a hike for me as I live in Bucks County, but it is well worth it. I wish they would open one up near me. Actually, I really would end up hating that because I would be 100 pounds overweight from eating there every night. I would put their pork sandwich up against any in the city, including Tony Luke's, Johns and Georges.
