Came here last minute for happy hour. The place is pretty nice, clean, and spacious for South Philly. It's a corner row property so it's long and not that wide but not overly cramped. The happy menu items i tried were wings in 2 flavors? i didn't order them so i'm not sure what they were... if i had to guess it would be a fusion jerk seasoning and a hot and honey'esq. They were pretty good overall. There was a simple tuna roll which was standard. I don't think they have drafts; rather, they serve bottles. I ordered the blue moon and it was served in a glass with the standard orange. My friends had heineken and corona served straight from bottles. I was still hungry and ordered the drunken noodles. The portion was nice and was a little skeptical of their execution. But to my surprise...the flavors were really good. I don't go out to eat Thai that much but if i had to suggest drunken noodles (chicken) to anyone, i'd strongly urge you try this place out. Our bartender was nice and attentive. The place has hookah too on certain nights on the second floor. We opted for the bar area with karaoke and it was a fun night overall.

We're back!! And, wow. Seriously folks, if you like Thai food, if you want really quality food in South Philly . . . PLEASE patronize this place! This was our second trip. We went last year for Valentine's Day . . . and, my review reflects how they were not ready for the crowd, but how our waiter, Danny, was exceptional. So, tonight we walk in . . . Danny greets us with, "It's been a long time!" . . . I brushed that off as just an attempt to convince us we were remembered - but, given a choice of tables, we selected the one we sat at in February - and he said, "same table, huh?" . . . I was totally blown away . . . this is customer service at a level that is amazing to me. So, we got two appetizers, both incredible . . . the clams were so rich and flavorful - AND fresh. The main courses were amazing - with the star being the curry beef . . . not a choice available at most Thai restaurants . . . tender, rich, with a thick curry sauce . . . this is honestly to DIE for! I am disappointed that more people aren't landing here . . . . maybe it's the location? Maybe it is that this is too different? But, trust me folks, Danny will make this worth your while - with great happy hour specialty cocktails, great service and amazing food . . . PLEASE don't let this South Philly treasure close for lack of interest! It's really special.

My friends and I came here for dinner and drinks. We ordered some sushi (spider roll and another roll that comes with shrimp tempura topped with eel...forgot the name), tuna tartar and shrimp dumplings. The sushi was okay; I wasn't a fan of the spider roll. The shrimp dumplings were pretty tasty...I did not sample the tuna tartar but apparently my friend told me that it's pretty delectable. The drinks were also average; we ordered some mojitos and a fish bowl...although the the drinks came in decent size cups..there was a pretty good crowd of people...staff members provided good service; quick and friendly...seemed like locals from the surrounding neighborhoods. There is also karaoke and the music selection is pretty decent (fyi they don't charge for karaoke!). Good experience overall.

This place is always empty so I question how fresh the food is. However the food is really good and I loved the sushi

Overall very good experience. Had a late dinner and drinks with my fiancé last night. The server who also doubled as bartender was awesome the entire time; a young Japanese kid with glasses. Never had to really ask or wait too long for anything. We ordered the pork shumai, Philly roll (1 for here, 1 to go), and the salmon entree along with various adult beverages ranging from beer to their fancy cocktail list. All were great quality. Came out to be about $105 (sub-total $92.82) after tip which isn't too bad considering the volume we drank. It was atleast 7-8 to each of us. And they were mixed nice and strong where need be. A decent size as well. The only thing it is that after 10, they become a karaoke bar and it can get pretty packed & loud. I'd recommend going before 9 if this would bother you. We didn't mind too much, but, it became hard to carry on a conversation the later it got. Otherwise, love finding another South Philly gem. Will return.

We've seen the worst bartender here! She was piss drunk on the job! Didn't even know to hold a bottle properly and pour shots! So my BF ordered shots and a beer. The bartender poured shots into the shot glass..well she couldn't fill the shot glass so she decided to pour the beer into the shots! So my BF puts up a $20 bill on the bar...but that round was paid for by a friend. So this bartender was so drunk she proceeded to take the money from the bar after we told her the round was already paid for! She was so drunk she yank the money from my BF hand and put it in her tip bucket! People were ordering beers and she'll bring the beer bottles to the bar and left them on top of the bar with her bottle opener! ( but then again with her being a sloppy bartender I don't think she owns a bottle opener) I guess she was expecting someone to open the beer bottles for her.....so I did ! She was horrible, sloppy, inconsiderate and not to mention DRUNK! Skipping over guests and making them wait while she wanted to take orders from other guests who were buying her shots! I heard that she was just a guest bartender for the night!! Honestly being a guest bartender or not she needs to be properly trained before she starts serving!

Heard about the buzz on this restaurant and after seeing all the pictures of their food, I thought I'd check out the place for dinner. When we arrived at the restaurant, we noticed one of the chefs and waitresses standing outside smoking a cigarette right in front of the entrance. When we actually entered the place, there was no-one to be seen. Right at the entrance, there is a stairwell up the second floor...so we thought perhaps we needed to walk upstairs to be seated. Finally, the hostess (who was in the midst of eating her dinner) stood up from seating near the bar to seat us. It was 8PM and there were absolutely no customers so we were concerned. Once we got our menus, we noticed that there were no sushi options which was disappointing because that was the main reason we came to try out this restaurant. We asked if there was a separate sushi menu -- to our continued disappointment, we were informed that they lost their sushi chef... Nevertheless we stayed and ordered some of the Thai selections. We ordered the Chicken Drunken Noodles and Spicy Bamboo dishes. To our pleasant surprise, the flavor was decent for both dishes. The chicken was slightly overcooked which gave a rubbery taste, but the spices made up for it. In my opinion, the portions were a tad smaller compared to other Thai restaurants with the same price point. This particular dining experience left me wanting more...especially the sushi.

The food is authentically Thai. Yes the menu limited but everything is good. It is a hookah bar upstairs and they have a karaoke. Good place for people wanting good Thai food.

You've got to be kidding! Place is empty. Service is bad. The owner and staff have disappeared most the time. The menu is a joke. There is a big sign advertising a new chef. I don't believe there was a chef in the place and I was there Friday night. I ordered the Red Curry with Shrimp. The menu describes as Bamboo and red pepper. I must have gotten the "White person's version" It had broccoli (not listed on menu). It had carrots (Not listed on menu) and there was no bamboo and very little red pepper. The shrimp were rubbery. When I complained they brought me a bowl with some bamboo. When staff reappeared, she poured herself a drink and sat with a customer. Wow. My tip to owner: At least try watching some show on how to run a restaurant to get some training. My tip to possible customers: Stick to the drinks.

I have to start by saying the food is 5 stars...it was really delish! The restaurant itself is nicely decorated and our waiter was very nice...the drinks were also really good. The problem i had with this place they didn't have sushi which is about 90% of their menu. So there was really nothing to choose from They only had a couple of apps and like 4 or 5 main dishes....had i known before hand i would not have eaten here especially when there is a GIANT sign outside that says sushi. After being clearly disappointed about their very limited menu the waiter didn't make any suggestions it kind of was just like oh well...I kind of wanted to just leave but it would of been awkward. I will say that both my husband and my dish was really really good just wish they had a variety or didn't advertise sushi or at least gave us a free app or drink lol

This review is based solely on the atmosphere, happy hour, and employees. I have not been able to try out the menu so I cannot say much about it. First and foremost this place has great service and very friendly employees. I also love how the owner is present and interacting with customers. There's a nice atmosphere to it, it's a bit small but there's plenty of seats. They have great specials including $4 Heineken and $5 Hennessy shots which they do not skimp out on. I was only able to try 4 of their specialty cocktails, the pretty in pink, fusion green tea, and two other Mojito drink where one had guava flavor infused into it. My favorite has to be the guava Mojito and my least favorite is the fusion green tea which was made with way too much sour mix to the point where my throat felt scratchy after finishing the drink. Other then that the specialty cocktails run at a good price on happy hour for $6 and is originally $10-$11 which is not that bad either. I highly recommend this neighborhood restaurant/bar, my only disclaimer would be parking.

As a Californian, I came to Philadelphia with some preconceived notions; about the provenance of real sushi (nowhere east of the Rockies) and the pronunciation of the proper noun Oregon (it bears no resemblance to the pursuer of the Golden Fleece), amongst others. While I will not be swayed as to the correct sound of words, John Loc - the young chef who splits his time between here and Artisan Boulanger - has made a East Coast sushi believer out of me. He does the crucial, devilishly simple things perfectly and has a sensibility all his own. I eat his food without question. La Fusion has an odd name and is, to be generous, a little out of the way. Even for an ardent south-of-Washington-ite like myself, it's rare I'm below Snyder for anything, never mind a great meal. But sit at the beautiful antique bar, note the diligent, unobtrusive remodeling they've done, eat a few perfect maki with a stiff cocktail and tell me you don't feel like coming back. On any corner between Spring Garden and South, La Fusion would be the talk of the town, and quite a bit pricier. Keep your Center City fishmeat markets, I'll be at the end of the bar with a whiskey and André the baker, talking French real estate.

Came here before I went to a concert !! Great food !! We were met by the chef who specializes in Thai Asian food !.. Desert was something she picked out spicy tuna on a taco shell !! I still can't stop Talking to my husband about it . Fried duck was juicy and tender !! Thai curry tasted authentic ! Small cozy place with a bar can't go wrong !!

This is a fairly new place in a seemingly odd spot. But I think it'll add some needed diversity to the neighborhood. La Fusion offers Asian fusion cuisine with a warm romantic vibe. This is their second location, the first being in the suburbs, so you know they're doing something right. My group ended up ordering almost everything on the menu, down to the edamame. We had both soups, duck, crab cake, salmon, beef salad, fried rice, pad thai...and I'm sure I'm missing something. All of the dishes were well done. Per the kitchen's recommendation, we leaned more towards the Thai plates They are currently applying for their liquor license, so it is byob for the time being. But it's worth mentioning that the manager/bartender Rum Bar trained. They were kind enough to hook us up with a few complimentary beers since our table clearly did not bring enough wine. Needless to say, service was outstanding. Definitely check this place out for a nice date night. They also have some upstairs space for a dinner party or gathering. Take advantage of the current byob status, and maybe bring some rum and test out their mojito game.

Ahhhhhhhh! A place I can walk to and get some great food in my neighborhood that isn't pizza or cheesesteaks? This is some exceptional food that comes with some very good owner operator service. Everything on the menu is fabulous, but the Duck is out of this world and the sushi is pretty damn good too. Skip the pizza one night and try something wonderful and delicious at La Fusion.

We visited this new restaurant last Friday, as we were looking for some good food in our local neighborhood. What a great find! The staff was extremely friendly and attentive, and everything we had on the menu was delicious. Definitely a great spot for a date night or a large group gathering- they have plenty of space and a great vibe. We'll be back for sure!
