This place is a gem. A buddy that lives in Philly recommended this place and so we took 3 buses just to get here to check it out. Their roast pork sandwich was definitely worth the 1hr trek ! Will come back when I'm in Philly again.

kitty's is down home and simple. It's a place where folks from the neighborhood walk to to grab a bite to eat and talk with each other. It almost feels like time stopped in the 50s here and it feels great. The menu is simple... Soups, salads and sandwiches mostly. No fryer so sandwiches can be ordered with a bag of chips. No soda machine so soda comes in a can. The grilled cheese is greasy but so so good! I feel like grand mom is cooking for you here!

This is the real deal. It's like going back in time. Everything is home made and cheap. It's s local place so expect to talk to strangers. I thinks the food is first rate and the foodies haven't found this gem yet. A must retro experience .

I've been eating at Kitty's since it was still allowed to be called Rat's. In fact I my dad lived next door during my high school years so I have had many a breakfast sandwich and cheeseburger through the years. I recently made it back for breakfast and had my old favorite: pepperoni, egg and cheese. That's the best! I love that sandwich. I used to wolf down their burgers too. And for people in the know, Mondays John makes what many to consider the best tomato soup in all the land. In my mind, Rats, um I mean Kitty's is the perfect ideal of a luncheonette, small, crowded, local, good food and cheap. It does get crowded with plenty of regulars. I know people that come every morning, and that is usually a sign of a quality establishment.

I don't know how this place is getting so any good reviews. The workers were the rudest people I've encountered and I was for 15 minutes waiting to be helped. Not one worker said hi when we walked in and not one thank you when we paid. The one worker was especially rude and have an attitude for any question we asked. I'd probably never spend my money there again.

Was working in the old hood the other day and was looking for a new lunch spot. Have passed Kitty's many a time but never stopped. So this time I figured I give it a try. I ordered a bowl of Chicken noodle soup, it was ok the broth was kind of weak although it had plenty of noodles and carrots. I also ordered a Italian chicken cutlet, with spinach, sharp provolone on a seeded roll. I was really disappointed with the chicken cutlet, it was moist and tasty, but was on the small side. It barely filled half the roll, leaving the ends of the roll with nothing but cheese and spinach. For the $8.00 they charge for the cutlet, the chicken could be better dispersed in the roll. But one not so great lunch won't stop me from trying them for breakfast! Hopefully will have better luck with that! Stay tuned for that review!

I have lived in Port Richmond for about 24 years and recently found this gem. Don't expect a stuffed french toast with strawberry's and mascapone cheese but what you can expect is good, quality basic breakfast. If you are a fan of creamed chipped beef they make each order to order and it is fantastic. We recently went for lunch and they offer a couple of specials daily and make their own soups. This is a neighborhood spot that will not disappoint.

How have I been in this neighborhood my entire life and never been here?? Anyway, my curiosity got the best of me yesterday morning and I finally waltzed into Kitty's. I was surprised to see the little luncheonette so full for a Monday morning. You could tell the customers were regulars. The whole place had a very small town vibe. Anyway, I got scrambled eggs, turkey bacon, and home fries for breakfast. Hard to mess up the eggs and bacon, but I must say the home fries were awesome! I usually don't touch my home fries, it these were delicious. I ordered mine with peppers and onions, definitely a nice touch. My favorite thing about this place was all the pictures. Old wedding pictures and class pictures of local grade schools really give you a great history and feel for the 'hood...as does the Ellis coffee! Kitty's is certainly nothing fancy, but a great spot to add to the local breakfast rotation!

I have been to Kitty's a bunch of times and never once gotten something that I disliked. I used to vary my order but now every time I go it's always the chicken parm sandwich - I am hooked. Everything about it is delicious: the cutlets are tender and well-seasoned, unlike the waxy, dry cutlets you often get with chicken parm, the bread is terrific, and the sauce has lots of flavor and isn't too sweet. I live in the neighborhood, and when people from out of town or other parts of Philly are up my way during breakfast/lunchtime hours, I always take them here to share with them just how good this place is.

Kitty's is TOPS in my book, so much more than sandwiches. Homemade meatballs, chicken cutlets, soups, and many breakfast specials. A family joint with a real down home feel. I get here whenever I can.

Adore their breakfast! When I have to pick where to go, this is the first place on my mind. Everyone in my house could eat from kitty's all day long!
