If you want your food to arrive before you eat the sofa, order elsewhere. My husband and I love their food. We've given this place too many tries, though, to deliver their food in a timely fashion...if at all. The past 3-4 times we've ordered, the food has taken 1-1 1/2 hours, if not more, to be delivered. We're less than 2 miles away! The order right before this one? Saturday for lunch. They were listed as open, but never accepted our order. Thankfully, GrubHub stepped in and refunded our money after they were unable to get in touch with the owner or the restaurant. Too many chances given; so disappointed.

I have ordered food from El Zarape through GrubHub a few times. The Mexican restaurant from back home had this dish called a chicken fajita taco salad. El Zarape had a chicken taco salad, but I decided to ask if they could make it chicken fajita style (fajita chicken, grilled onions, peppers and jalapeños). No other Mexican delivery restaurant would agree to make it, but El Zarape did. They made it just like the place from back home and it is some deliciousness! This is my go-to place for Mexican food as a result.

HORRIBLE service! Two hours after my order and the food still isn't here! If you can't manage delivery, you shouldn't offer delivery.

Order take out for me and some friends. Delivery was fast, and the food was absolutely amazing! I had mini street tacos (pollo) which weren't so mini! They had chicken, cheese, pico de gallo, and avocado on them, and we're served with rice and refined beans. So delicious! Friends had the fish tacos, and some fried pork tacos, and the thought there were amazing as well! Guacamole was yummy! Will definitely order again!

Ordered food through GrubHub and the restaurant messed up my order. Instead of graciously offering to deliver a corrected order, I was put on hold and transferred to several different people. The man I finally ended up with was exceedingly rude and told me that they wouldn't be correcting my order and I would have to contact Grubhub. So I ended up paying for food that I didn't eat, and will now have to go through the process of getting in touch with GrubHub for a refund. Horrible customer service and we will never order here again. There's much better Mexican food in the city anyway.

Awful. Items ordered were given completely false descriptions -- the order of "original queso" was described to have fresh jalepeno, cilantro and poblano peppers. It was literally just a container of low grade canned bowling alley cheese. Nothing else added. We asked for the sour cream to come on the side of the flautas - they didn't. My AVOCADO enchiladas did not come with avocado. ????? Or any enchilada sauce. The side of "Mexican rice" is literally just steam in bag microwaved Uncle Ben's with the carrots and the peas. AND the delivery of less than half a mile was quoted to take 30 mins - it came in over an hour and a half. Complete disappointment. Absolutely will never order from again.

Wow, I LOVE El Zarape. When I lived in South Philadelphia I had a lot of choices for Mexican food, and most of them are good or above average. Then I found El Zarape. I don't think I ever got Mexican food from any place else again. The food was absolutely delicious, takeout was always fast, delivery always prompt. When I left South Philly it killed me not to be able to get El Zarape all the time, and anytime I'm back in the neighborhood I stop there. Just unbelievable food. If you've never tried it, get the Azteca Soup, probably my favorite thing on the menu. You cannot go wrong with this place.

Delicious food, great service, and a good deal. The tacos al pastor were amazing! We were so full that we got dessert to go :)

Super disappointed. My boyfriend and I ordered soup and al pastor tacos, they said the eta was 30 minutes, but took over an hour for our food to arrive. And when it did the soup was salty and the chips inside the soup were all soggy not to mention flavorless tacos and huge chunks of pineapples just tossed everywhere in the taco container. We're never ordering from here again.

I've never eaten here but I've done take out many times. The food is so good! The prices are also incredibly reasonable. The only issue is that there are some inconsistencies, which kind of drives me crazy. For example, my fiancé only orders the specialty tacos because of the onion crisps on top but they only show up on the tacos sometimes, which is kind of weird. Other than that though the food is always excellent and I'm so excited that they stayed open even though they relocated!

Ordered through grub hub, delivery took about 10-15 minutes longer than expected but it was well worth the wait. The guacamole is amazing and the chicken fajita burrito was also very good, I will be ordering again

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
