Chinese Cuisine
The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.

Recently moved to NoLibs and am ISO regular ole' Chinese without having to venture to Chinatown. On recommendation from a good friend, I discovered Chef King tonight and although outward appearances of the establishment would say otherwise, the food was great. Ordered Mu Shu Beef and Steamed Pork Dumplings for dinner this evening and will have plenty for lunch and dinner again tomorrow. They take credit cards and deliver with a min. order of $10. Score.

For cheap chinese takeout, with big portions, and quality ingredients, this is the place. Best Moo-Shu I have had in years. Great prices for those on a budget, with large portions.

I am pleasantly surprised about this place. The food is always fresh. There is never that re-fried old oil taste that is associated with Chinese takeouts. They even have a diet menu. There is also a large selection of hot and spicy dishes.

Before moving to the Northern Nowhere neighborhood I lived in West Philadelphia. West Philadelphia is filled with scary Chinese restaurants which catch up to you 12 hours later. That caused me to walk by this place many times before actually going in. After checking out it's reviews and then double checking them I walked in. The facade might be a little foreboding but suck it up and try it. The place is clean, the service is quick and friendly, food is of good quality, and the portions are exceptionally large for the price.

This is the Spring Garden district's Chinese place. Every neighborhood has one (I guess Chinatown has more than one). They are fast affordable, and will leave you full. The food certainly isn't gourmet, but is still delicious. I don't think I've had anything bad here yet. FYI, remember to ask for chopsticks. They don't put them in the bag unless you ask (at least for me).

This place is great! The food came in about 45 minutes (about a half hour ahead of the projected delivery time). I got the chicken lo mein combo and crab ragoons and everything was great! No greasy/oily taste and big portions! Would definitely recommend.

Not great. Edible but very little flavor. I had a chicken dish and a beef dish (that was supposed to be spicy) on the same plate and couldn't tell a difference when I wasn't looking. The search for my go-to chinese place continues. On the plus size, portions were huge and prices were low.

This is my boyfriend's absolutely favorite Chinese so we always order from here. Nothing ever really blew my socks off- typical chicken and broccoli or General Tso's. It was decent, fresh, and quick delivery. However last night I wanted something different. BTW Menupages menu for chef king is WRONG. I tried ordering the Hunan Triple Delight and literally talked to the woman answering for 10 minutes- she explained they had chicken and shrimp in hot sauce and mongolian beef. The menu online said general tsos; spicy; shrimp and mongolian beef. No problem I'll take what they have and I wanted pork fried rice instead of white. BF got a combo w white rice. Wouldn't you know she LIED- there was no chicken in it at all which is the main meat I wanted. She charged me for a container of pork fried rice and NEVER told me about it. To top it all off they didn't even gives us chopsticks or fortune cookies. WOW. What a disappointment- off to find a new Chinese place.

Alright, alright. After my last experience about 6 months ago with a very rude delivery person I swore off Chef King. In that time I think I tried 5 different places. Some were okay, some were weird (including the strangest interpretation a scallion pancake I've ever seen) but so far, nothing was as good as my memory of Chef King. So I caved and gave them another shot. Hands down my favorite general tso's tofu. In my time away I've had various tofu dishes that were huge, barely cooked or, my personal least-favorite, gelatinous and stuck together the next day. Ew. But this tofu is crispy, bite sized, and with the right amount of spicy sauce that doesn't turn to slime after being refrigerated. The crab Rangoon was also good, and they don't charge for sweet and sour sauce (yes, some places do!). The rest: scallion pancakes were decent (greasy though, if you're not into that) but I kind of wish it had slightly more scallion. There was a piece of broccoli in my tofu that tasted funny. The rest did not, so I moved on. And lastly, they did not bring the drinks I ordered however the woman on the phone issued a refund for the drinks rather quickly which I appreciate. So, I'm updating my rating to 3 stars. The tofu alone could be at least 4 and I will continue to order it, holding out hope that the attention to detail improves. The prices are great, with dishes running slightly less than the average local Chinese spots.

Massive portions! The "small" soups are quite large, each dish/entree is really large as well. Combined with lightening fast delivery (much faster than they usually anticipate), and possibly the best veggie roll I've ever had, this is officially my go-to Chinese place.

I'm giving this place one star because they could not fulfill a simple order for delivery. I ordered food through grub-hub and two hours later - no food. I called the restaurant and all I got was an empty promise that the food would be delivered soon, and an excuse that she was really busy. Oh and when I asked for my money back (paid by credit card) I was told no way.
