Have been coming here for years. It has moved fairly recently and new people running the restaurant i believe but they definitely make some of the best General Tsos ive ever had. also make a good pork friend rice. everything is usually about ready in 10 minutes. the lunch special is a good deal as well, and they also sell the local favorite Zimmermans Ice Tea. They are also open later than most restaurants in area as well and the food has stayed fairly consistent. Main downfall is no CCs are accepted.

Definitely not a great spot to eat. Ordered food here during a ski trip and a friend of mine had a horrible allergic reaction. Thank goodness for benadryl and emergency rooms! Nobody ordered anything with peanuts, and more than likely they have some cross contamination issues. Understandably, Asian food does have nuts in it frequently...but this is the first time she had any type of reaction at a Chinese food spot. I guess you don't eat Chinese food in small towns in PA!

Horrible horrible service! I'll always give a place a second chance after bad service! They are 0-2. I only went here because my father wanted Chinese food and was really hungry, next time I'll make the drive out of town. Plus, the food isn't that good!

The people who work there are so rude. Food isn't bad but service is not good. especially the woman who usually works in the front at the register.

Do NOT recommend Hunan house at all. My husband and I ordered dinner last night, my meal was sesame chicken, MORE THAN HALF the chicken was raw. When chicken is cooked all the way, the inside should be white, this was red. I called the restaurant right away and the girl hung up on me! My husband was not very happy, so he called. Same girl answered the phone, she tried hanging up on him, but he cut her off and explained what was wrong. She said to bring the meal back and they would make a new order for me. When I got back home, we cut the chicken in half, the first piece was pink, but the rest was ok. I tried eating, but I appetite was gone. A couple hours later when I felt hungry, I pushed the chicken around, took a bite that we happened to miss and it was RED inside. I again called and explained to them that this was the second order in the same day, I would be back for my money. This time it was a guy I spoke with, he told me that their chicken has ALWAYS BEEN LIKE THAT BECAUSE OF THE SAUCE. How does the sauce get to the inside and make it red. I told him that was just an excuse, they're going to make someone sick. I took the meal back...again and got my money. If you choose to keep eating there, make sure your food is fully cooked. They definitely lost my business and I hope they continue to to lose business. Thinking about calling the department of health on them.

Good for a typical Chinese restaurant. As the first poster said, the people working there were not friendly at all. I did wind up paying $5.25 more for my food since they don't accept credit cards (but convenient ATM) 2.75 for the ATM and 2.50 from my bank for $20 worth of food... anyway... the food was slightly better than the Chinese we usually get at Carbon Plaza, but friendliness (and no $5.25 surcharge) go a long way with me so we'll probably stick to the Carbon Plaza Chinese place from now on.

Great food! Except the people taking your order isn't so friendly but I don't need to be smiled at if my food is going taste good.. Chicken w. broccoli was fresh and dumplings didn't have the old old taste to it. I am from NY so we are know for our chinese food take out but this place would beat any take out place in NYC.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
