This is a diner. But it describes itself as a "family restaurant." Whatevs. Anyway, it's a top notch place to buy a reasonably priced meal in the just-right air conditioned comfort of downtown Palmerton. Very friendly, attentive staff. Immaculately clean (even the restrooms). A nice nostalgic, low key music selection. Laid back local clientele are pleasant company. Ice cream, sandwiches, burgers, breakfast all day. Good cup of coffee. A real gem and a genuine oasis (especially if you're coming off the Appalachian Trail, as I was). Four stars means great, five means perfect. This place is great, but it gets close to perfect. Call it 4.5.

Nice place, very clean, went there for breakfast this morning, order was placed and food was brought out in a timely manner. A proper Ham & Cheese Omelet with toast and home fries. Check is left with you there so you don't have wait in case you're in a rush. They do breakfast right by golly. They have three sections, the diner, the old time sit down restaurant, and the meeting or function room. Been part of the town since 1957 so they must be doing something right. Talked to the owner she opens up almost everyday so that means somebody cares. It wasn't a overly great place as it was consistent and proper. Nice people nice background music that was low not the overly annoying B-104 blasting into one's conversation. Ill be back for for sure for lunch!

Was I impressed! The place is decorated great, the cashier and waitress great, and the cost and food quality also great! I had a turkey burger that was very thick and cooked just right. They gave me plenty of french fries, and free refills on the iced coffee.I have to go to this place more often!

Perfect! We got into town at 830 pm last night & wanted something lite to eat , being out of town we had no idea where to go . Driving by we seen Bert's , my husband and I thought it was a steakhouse like outback . Boy were we wrong . It's a cute 50 styles diner ! So cute ! They close at 9 and we walked in at 830 . I kept saying sorry to the waitress about the time , she insisted it was ok she still had work to do . We ordered our sandwiches and my daughter wanted a ice cream cone , the waitress was so nice and even let me try a spoon of pie that sounded kinda gross ( peach mixed with blueberry) it was soooooo yummy I got a piece to go. Our bill was only $25 . So cheap for such great food ! I felt it was only proper to leave her a $15 tip , she refused to take the tip at first , we insisted !

Great breakfast, which I frequently order to go when I don't want to cook, but service could kick it up a notch. Sat for 20 minutes before even being served coffee. Even if you're not our server, instead of passing us 5 times to tell us our server will be "with us shortly," be courteous and just serve us the coffee even though it's not your tip. Enthusiasm is lacking in staff, which might be why I prefer to get food to go than sit and eat.

would we go back- now way! prices are too high for the quality of the food. i paid extra for FT & scrapple- scrapple tasted like soap- FT was dry and hard, definitely way over cooked- even the syrup was sub-par and didnt help. the omelet had lots to it, but taste wise- why even bother. once is enuf for us

This is a diner that wishes it was an old diner from the 50s. The food is average at best. The prices are good and the food is warm...those are good things, right?
