Favorite Italian restaurant in The Valley. Food is amazing and the tiramisu is out of this world. Friday/Saturday nights are the best. A must eat at place every time I come home. Love.

I came here one time 2 years ago and then recently about 6 months ago. They remodeled since the first time I was there, however one thing hasn't changed...their great food! I love their grilled chicken salad with artichoke hearts and roasted red peppers. It's a great italian restaurant located in a small town!

Delicious meal at Assante's!. Loved the penne vodka and lobster ravioli dishes! They also give fantastic warm bread with a yummy sun-dried tomato dipping sauce to start off the meal. Such a wonderful family owned restaurant!

Our favorite Italian restaurant! We have been coming here for close to ten years. The food is always great and so is the service. I would recommend Assante to all of our friends and family (we have probably brought them here already anyway). No other Italian restaurant in the Lehigh Valley compares!

The family that owns this restaurant are amazing people. I went there with 6 of my friends and they treated us amazing. The bartender Nick is superb. The food is excellent, five star quality. They even had live music the night we went. I would greatly recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Assante's is good homemade Italian food. As I am not an Italian food lover, but my family is, this place makes me like Italian food again. If you want cheap Italian food, go to Olive Garden. The marinara meat sauce here is hearty and rich, the bacon burger is juicy, meatballs are big, service is great (sometimes the owners come by and talk to you). I occasionally drop in after work around 930pm to pick up a to-go order and they are extremely kind and chat me up even though I'm tired.

First time here and will never go back. We waited well over a hour for our meals. Appetizer took 25 minutes to come out. They completely forgot about our salad and soup.

I've lived in Northampton all my life. Assante (used to be Carini's with the previous owners) has always been great. The prices are a bit higher than other places, as others pointed out, but the servings are large and I've always found the food to be delicious. My personal favorites are the penne vodka and fettuccine Primavera. The owners couldn't be nicer! You'll see someone from the family every time you go in and they always make you feel welcome. On my most recent trip, my daughter wanted to sing a song she learned in school to the owner's daughter, and she listened and interacted with her so well. She made my daughter feel special instead of smiling and walking away since she was busy. The food and atmosphere are wonderful; I definitely recommend them!

Great food and friendly service. Always treated like family when I'm there. Never had a bad meal. Don't know what these other people are talking about. These people that gave bad reviews Obviously don't know authentic Italian cuisine. Best Italian food in the valley. My heart will always belong to Assante.

Place is very friendly and server was very polite. My only compliant about this place is food. Food is very ordinary. I had order a mushroom risotto and it was plain. My wife had order braised ribs on top of mash potato and it was disgusting, appearance of the dish wasn't pleasant at all.

Stopped by for dinner tonight with my son on our way to see "The Great Gatsby" at The Roxy. The food was terrific--warm rolls with a delicious sun-dried tomato oil dip, mediocre salads, very good appetizers from the specials menu and two great entrees (tuna steak and chicken Isabel.) The atmosphere was clean and comfortable and the entire staff from top to bottom couldn't have been nicer. They even offered to hold our leftovers for us in their fridge until after the movie. We live about 2 hours away and our trip to The Valley was a one time spur of the moment sort of thing so I doubt that I'll have an opportunity to return but it was a damn good and surprisingly affordable meal. I only regret that we won't be likely to return, at least probably not any time soon.

Let's start with the wine menu...I tried 3 different white wines, all ended with the waitress coming back empty handed, saying that we're all out of that one... After hearing more bottle clanging in the background I decided to get up and go to the bar myself and see what they did have. I did not want Kendall Jackson, nor a Bolla...especially at $30... So of course what they do have is the most expensive ($36)...but by this time I don't care. After ordering an appetizer and our entrees, I chose Caesar when asked soup or salad...Sadly I received a house/dinner salad with some sad looking bottled Caesar dressing on it. I asked if this was their version of a Caesar salad and she explained that "the salad part that comes with your meal is a dinner salad. We only offer Caesar's from the menu which you could also add chicken or shrimp to. We don't offer a Caesar upgrade..." OK... Needless to say when the bill arrived we were charged the full price for the bottle of wine. I've expected a substantial discount or at least a free round or dessert for the troubles... The food was decent and I'm sure we'll be back, as it's my GF's favorite Italian place in the area...it was my first time there, and being from Northern NJ...this trip was a disaster.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
