Husband and I came here for a late lunch. He ordered the coconut shrimp for his appetizer which were good but slightly over fried. He had the Mahi Mahi Mango which was really good but a bit on the greasy side and we were expecting fresh mango but instead got some kind of mango sauce which was reminiscent of baby food. I ordered the fish tacos, also good but the slaw was a bit heavy on the mayo side. Most disappointing was when we went to redeem our free dessert coupon, they "didn't have" the dessert we wanted, the Helado del dia (fresh tropical ice cream). Better for our waste lines I guess? Overall service was fast and friendly but the food could use a little less grease.

This review for mojitos only. We came in for drinks and the bartender, Jamie, was excellent. He was attentive, sociable, and made a mean mojito. We tried every flavor, and all were exceptional. My favorite was coconut. At $10each, they are worth it, as they are strong. We will definitely be back and will try some apps with our mojitos

This place has so much potential but the owners are squandering it. Right now they are starting to decline and it seems that everyone thinks that everything is A OK. Bathrooms were not clean and menu items, thought creative, were lacking flavor. The salsa and guacamole looked visually appetizing but we're as bland as all bran. The positive review was the service. It was extremely slow, but to be fair, our server was doing 50 other tasks that should be handled by their teammates. How come the manager is not running food or checking in? Are they busy drafting their fantasy team? Get out of the back office and help your server staff. No one should have to wait 20-25 minutes for food. This place still has potential, but it's getting closer and closer to the point that Jon Taffer and the Bar Rescue production team might need to pop in and take a crack at it. If the owner would love to email and explain why here's the email: Perruccijulie@gmail.com

Update: The manager did reach out upon reading this review and offered a return visit to make things right. They mentioned that the bug issue outside was resolved. I haven't been back, but at least the business is attempting to make a difference. Maybe there's hope yet. ---------- We visited New Hope and decided to visit only those places we had never been before. We stopped at Mojito for drinks at the outside bar. I ordered a Dark and Stormy from the drink menu, which was listed as served with Gosling's Bermuda Rum. There was a bottle displayed on the wall behind the bar. Apparently the outside bar is just for show because the bartender went inside to get the drinks. First red flag. My drink came out and looked unusual. It tasted like whiskey and water. We inquired about the alcohol and the bartender admitted they were making it with Myers Rum that night. Oh the old switcheroo? Trust me. It wasn't rum at all. Anyway, the bartender was nice enough to offer me something else, which is the only reason I gave this review two stars. I ordered a margarita, which unfortunately was sub par. I can make a better one myself at home. The atmosphere left a lot to be desired. Looked dark and run down. Where there were lights, they were so covered in webs and bugs that I couldn't imagine actually eating anything here. Mojito Cuba Caribe? Completely unauthentic and not worth the money to give it another try inside. First impressions are the hardest and this was a big FAIL.

Decided to pick a random place to have dinner one night; Mojito had good service and great food. I had the ropa vieja and the meat was tender and flavorful... crispy yuca fries and guacamole with nachos were fresh and spot on as well. I got a beer and my GF had a drink she enjoyed, but both weren't enough to comment on the bar really. They should really play Cuban, or at least Latin, music... but otherwise it's a cool restaurant with good food.

Only came here once and that was because I saw their sign of drink specials. Ended up getting a few jello shots and 1 margarita for really cheap. Drinks were decent. Sat outside at the bar. Probably will return.

Decor and ambiance did not match the name. This is a local bar trying to be different and failing badly. American 70's hit music in a Cuban bistro? Really!? Table cloth had stains. No Cuban beers on menu. Only Cuban mixed drink is the mojito. The menu was no different that what I would expect from Chipotle. I ordered the burger. Ordered my burger medium. Got a piece of charcoals. I couldn't finish it. My daughter ordered a "cuban sandwich". She left half on the plate.

Went for lunch and felt the quality was not worth the money. I eat out often and don't mind spending money for a good experience. While the service was attentive, I was not impressed with the meal. I had the ceviche which was overly acidic and lacked depth of flavor. Next came the fried stuffed avacado. Again aside from the beef filling, the batter was dark, flavorless and overcooked.

I go to new hope all the time we have eaten almost everywhere. We saw this place recently this summer and tried it with some friends. The food was very good, we had the nachos and they were delish! I had the fish tacos and they were also amazing. It's a very cute place I enjoyed sitting outside on the patio. I would definitely return and try other dishes.

When a new Latin restaurant opens up I feel the obligation to come by and support the establishment and make sure it gets noticed on Yelp! Sadly my high aspirations for Mojito were short lived. We came in and sat in a beautiful table in the middle of a room lit up through sky lights and surrounded by palm trees. The decor is very inviting and despite the odd picture of two white guys smoking cigars behind us, we were very pleased. Our food took a little long to make, which I assumed was because I ordered the steak sandwich. When it arrived at the table, I immediately knew I was going to hate it. It was huge chunks of bland looking meat lined up in my plate. Every bite I grew more and more frustrated as they fell out of the bread and made a bigger mess. If it wasn't that the meat was so poorly seasoned, I think I would've dealt with it better. Thank god for the the delicious yuca fries and aioli it came with. My hubby's sandwich was much more appealing, he ordered a Cuban which came out with great flavor and zero hassle to eat. Our yelp check-ins gave us coupons for free dessert so I ordered the warm Cuban butter cake which made me forget all my issues with the chunks of meat. My hubby ordered the tres leches and it lacked wetness, and it came with chocolate all over the bottom which really ruined it for me because the two did not go together at all. The thing that actually bothered me the MOST is that they were playing soft rock as background music in a place full of palm trees and margaritas; I mean come on, at least get the ambiance right. I don't know if we will return, the prices are kind of high for Spanish food, a steak sandwich was $12 and an extra $2 for fries. Plus with our meal literally being 50/50 good and bad, and mediocre service from the waitress, this place is easy to walk past in comparison to others in the area.

Dinner was good but service was a bit slow. We were charged for chips and salsa which they removed when questioned.

Tried it out on the first decent weekend of a long-awaited spring. The address is on its third re-opening in about 5 years. Nice that they have a little outdoor seating right on Main, without the insanity that is Havana's. So the weather and location are great; the good things end there. Bland guacamole, slow service (on a fairly quiet afternoon), and $14 dollar margaritas - featuring the non-traditional, and totally unacceptable ingredient: seltzer. With all the other options around, I would not recommend. Won't be going back.
(2)Betsy R.
I do not believe in leaving negative posts up :) Since my review, the owner reached out to me. That was most appreciated. We shall see what is to come!
(2)Kelly D.
Excellent. We tried a bunch of appetizers. Wings were incredible, Madura rellenos were so good and unexpected, YUKA FRIES w cilantro mayo- omg. Boyfriend loved chicharones, I just thought the whole atmosphere was very nice. Sandwiches were very good, large portions. We tried the Cuban and the pan de lechon also- great drinks! Love it. Will definitely be back when we are in new hope!
(5)Josh K.
Great spot! Drinks and food are awesome! Staff is kind and attentive. You have to try the Les Leches and the key lime pie ad desserts!
(5)Gail Z.
Had dinner here with 6 friends after spending a day at shad fest. Food was great, waiter was attentive and nice. Service was great. Four of us had the chicken tortilla soup which was delicious and chicken and beef enchiladas which were also delicious.
(4)Sim H.
I love their fried avocado appetizers, so amazing. For the entree, I had the Cuban bowl which was average. My friends enjoyed their entrees as well. The portions are good sizes. I'm not crazy about the decor or the vibe here, but maybe because we were seated in the back near the kitchen. It also gets quite loud. However, the food and service was very nice.

Where do I start? They try to cut cost all around and the food and service suffers. Pricey and service sucks. The Tortilla soup was extremely salty, I informed waiter and he just said Oh, OK. Did did not offer to bring me a salad or side dish instead. Tostones(fried plantains), did not come with the traditional olive oil/garlic sauce, instead they serve them with a cheap green mayo based sauce. The black beans were sweet, traditionally, they should not be sweet. The burger was char-coaled to death and bread partially burned. No cheese! I've had better at Outback Steakhouse! Do not recommend this place at all, All hype and no substance, their website makes it appear way better than it is. You were warned!! THIS IS NOT CUBAN FOOD, MAYBE MODIFIED CUBAN AT BEST, TRUST ME I HAVE CUBAN FRIENDS AND BEEN TO LITTLE HAVANA.

Superrrrrrrr, good service and amazing food!

This is only for the outdoor bar area because we didn't eat there -- but WOW, had a great time! We shared a bunch of different drinks and loved every single one of them. The bartender was the perfect mixture of friendly and attentive, in a comfortable setting, with good music, and best of all, truly the best mojitos in New Hope! Can't wait to go back.
(5)Mike Z.
Came in for a Bloody Mary. I asked if they make good ones and the waitress said yes. All they did was use the liquor store mixer and added Vodka. It was pretty gross. We didnt get coasters with our glasses and it didnt seem like the people at the bar really knew what they are doing. I checked in on Yelp and got a promo that said "with check-in free dessert". I showed this to the bartender and she had no clue what I was talking about. She said she will ask and never did. I never got my dessert. I didnt try any food but hope the kitchen is better than the bar. Service wasnt that great and neither were the drinks.
(2)Michael J.
I would not recommend this to anyone. We went despite the negative reviews because of the menu options and the pictures of the plates, showing what seemed to be delicious food options and savory drinks. Should have listened to yelp!! Service took FOREVER. First round of drinks were too sweet but at least refreshing, ordering another round was a horrible decision as they both tasted like straight soda with gin and mint thrown in at the end (an attempted mojito, cmon.. That's the name of your restaurant). Food was bland, ceviche came with literally 5 chips and the tres leche cake (thank goodness it was free from the yelp check in) was frosted with what seemed to be shop rite brand birthday cake frosting... Not satisfied.
(1)Barry A.
The service was outstanding and staff very friendly. Now I went with a friend who grew up eating this cuisine and is a chef. We both agree that the food was right on point and as authentic as if his grandma was cooking it. We will be returning as soon as possible to eat our way thru the menu.
(4)Melanie L.
I will start off by saying the food is actually really good. I would give the food 4.5 stars- really good chicken empanadas, polla de la plancha, maduros, and the plantain chips. We also tried the fall signature cocktails- Fall Sangria and Apple Cider Margarita. However, my overall rating is mainly effected by the service at Mojito. We say at 630pm, our order wasn't taken for 30 mins, and we received our food around 7:45pm. Out waitress did not come over once to check on the table to see how it was going, and water cups were left empty multiple times. Realizing Mojitos is a new restaurant, I do think once they get some more help it will improve, but until then, be prepared for extremely slow (and not that friendly) service.
(2)Sarah F.
I'm here right now and this is my hell. Worst drink in history. I mean...this margarita is straight lime soda with a hint of urine. If I'm ever diagnosed with cancer it will be because of this place and it's awful bartenders. Most of this comment may sound like a joke but this place used to be wonderful before (I'm assuming here) it's owners changed because when this was Lola's it was dark and mysterious, hip and fun. Now it looks and smells like an old dirty motel in Vegas. It sucks guys. Plus it overcharged us for drinks.
(1)Den M.
Yummy Mohitos...we also enjoyed the food too! Nice waitstaff and great outside seating

We were excited to try this new place in New Hope, with the hope that there would be some good Cuban food around, unlike the "other" Cuban place in town. We saw the menu online and the good yelp reviews and decided to give it a try. The interior is nice and redone since the last restaurant that was there. They first seated us inside in a section that is a few steps down from the main area. We asked if we could get moved, since after a few minutes, it was obvious that being right by the kitchen doors (dishes clattering, cooks yelling, door swinging) was not going to be great for our date night. Thankfully, they had plenty of other tables inside and we were moved without an issue. We had the Camarones al Ajillo as an appetizer. Someone brought it out to us, but we had no plates. So we waited until our waitress come around to bring them. We waited, and waited....eventually we decided that if we waited longer, it would be cold. So we had to go up to the bar and ask for small plates. Not good. Although the shrimp were definitely the frozen variety, the sauce they were in was amazingly delicious. Served with a side of lightly buttered, toasted bread and it was heaven! We ate every last bit of the shrimp and sauce. Our drinks ran out. Again, our waitress was nowhere to be found. So we waited for that too. When we placed our order, I had asked if I could get my salad served with Mojo pork instead of "naked" pork. The waitress said it was no problem and wrote it down. My husband ordered the Lechon Asado, which was basically the Mojo pork platter served with rice and beans and tostones. His was very tasty and overall, it was a great dinner. When I tasted the pork with my salad, it was the "naked" pork, not the mojo pork. Okay, no big deal, mistakes happen right? So we wait (and wait) for the waitress to come over. She doesn't. So my husband gets up to get her and another waitress said she would get her for us. This is where it gets weird....and where my review goes from a 4 start review to a 3. (Though maybe it should be 2!) I (nicely!) told her that I think there was a mistake, and that the pork on the salad was the wrong one (naked), and not the one that I asked for (and was told I could have). She looked all confused and said she didn't know why that happened, but she would bring me out a side of the correct pork. I offered to let her take the whole salad back, to replace the pork, but she told me she would just bring out a dish of it. Fine. Good solution, right? Well, she comes back and tells me that "the manager said that he can't give you another portion of the pork so he told me to bring you out the mojo sauce and you can add it yourself". WHAT?! I ordered something, THEY made the mistake and now I'm stuck wtih do-it-yourself-make-some-mojo-pork?? It was bizarre. Was he afraid that I was trying to scarf down a double order of the pork?? (Even though I offered to send the original pork back). What in the world kind of customer service is that for THEIR mistake?? So I was left, without an extra dish, trying to mix my pork with the mojo sauce to correct their mistake. Again, I know things happen....but when the waitress/kitchen makes a mistake with an order; good customer service is to fix it. Immediately. And most restaurants with really GOOD customer service will throw in a dessert, or a discount or take the meal off the tab, just to show good will. So being treated as a pork-stealer and then having to fix my own meal was just a complete and utter turn off. The waitress was nice, but not attentive. She seemed to be running inside and out and was probably too busy....so not her fault, but it didn't help our overall impression either. So, the food was good. The service was eh, and the customer service was bad.

I am so disappointed. I am a New Hope resident and a foodie. As such, I am always looking for new quality restaurants in the area. I especially love Cuban cuisine, and couldn't wait to try Mojitos. Well... Don't waste your time. The restaurant industry is so competitive to begin with...If a restaurant owner starts out by trying to cut corners, they'll NEVER succeed. We began by ordering drinks. Disgusting. My mojito was basically lime juice with mint, and it had an acidity flavor. My friend's margarita tasted like dirty dish water. It just got worse from there. We waited 1.5 hours for our entrees, and we were the only people there. The shrimp appetizer tasted very fishy. The guacamole had no flavor and was brown, indicative of old avocados. I can go on, but I'm sure you get the point. Basically, just another tourist restaurant in New Hope with bad food and over priced drinks, that will be closed within the next year.

terrible food cooked without love! same quality as hooters, but much more expensive!
(1)Dave M.
LOL! Used to a bottle mix? Seems like your go-to response for the other reviews pertaining to the same problem. I assure you I am not "used" to a bottle mix. I have had plenty of delicious from-scratch margaritas AND bottle mixed margaritas. The caliber of deliciousness of your restaurant's particular creation did not even come close to what I've experienced before. Actually, it didn't really even taste like a margarita. Just tequila, lime, and AND SELTZER. This could be a problem with that particular bartender, but I expected better from a restaurant named after this style of drink.
(1)Wendy W.
Finally, a place in New Hope with unique, high quality food. I expected everything to be spicy as is my experience with Cuban food previously. Rich flavor characterized our meals best. I can't wait to go back and try something else.
(4)Kelly C.
Stopped in on a saturday afternoon. Was seated immediately, drinks and food were great. Recommend the quesadillas and nachos!

Just had a terrific early dinner with good friends and a great bartender, Karen!! The red beans and rice with chicken, sweet plantains, and fried yucca was fantastic! Sitting at the outdoor bar, people watching, and having great conversations, yes, actually talking with people instead of texting! The price points are right on, drinks are tasty, and a big selection of draught beer! And, if you check in through yelp while you are here, you can get a free dessert!
(5)Dana K.
Ok so we are here on a Thursday and every drink we have ordered the female bartender Donna has said they don't have it and have not offered an option and quite honestly have been very rude..... Not happy and may not come back

Enjoying a great mango mojo to on a sunny Sunday in New Hope. Also, try the Madura relents. Pretty awesome.
(4)Stephen Z.
Absolutely fantastic! I had the Enchiladas and a Mojito, and both were top shelf. Great seasoning, fast service, and the Mojitos were out of this world. They also have some great beers on tap, and our waitress was very nice. The owner stopped by and said hello, and was friendly and outgoing. I will be going back to Mojito again and again!
(5)Heather R.
Went there for dinner around 7pm with my wife on a Wednesday night. The restaurant was pretty empty with the exception of the bar. We ordered the Chicken Tostadas to start and every component of the dish was bland from the dry shredded chicken to the sad excuse for a citrus slaw. For our entrees I had the Ropa Vieja with white rice and maduros and my wife ordered the Pollo a la Plancha with white rice, black beans, and tostones. The Ropa Vieja was absolutely flavorless and tasted like it was boiled in tomato sauce, the rice tasted like boil in a bag rice, and the beans tasted old and microwaved. The maduros and tostones were greasy and cold. I could barely eat the Ropa Vieja and our waitress graciously removed it from our bill. The most flavorful and enjoyable part of the meal was the cilantro mayo that accompanied the tostones, but that was about it. Overall it was a really sad excuse for a Cuban restaurant. I went there a couple months ago and the quality was much better, but I think it has fallen victim to the New Hope restaurant scene; just another crappy bar with overpriced awful food. It's really a shame bc I was really excited about a Cuban restaurant in the area, but I rather take the trip to Asbury and go to Cubacan if I need my rice and beans fix.
(1)Gordon D.
In all fairness, we went back and tried this place again and I would like to say that we all had a marvellous time ! Everybody was very attentive and helpful including the very attractive blonde bartender. We loved everything...I am revising my previous review and we are going back tomorrow night !

Being from Miami, we have been desperate to find good Cuban/Latin food here in Jersey for over a year. We have not been very lucky. When we heard about Mojito Cuba Caribe coming to New Hope we were anxious and excited to get in and try this new place! Tonight we finally came in and our whole party was impressed with the menu. The food was actually really good and I would have given a much higher rating, however service was very poor. Our reservation was at 6:30 and we didn't even place our drink order until 6:50 and dinner order until 7:15/20. We ordered a cider margarita, fall sangria, maduras rellenos, pollo a la plancha, lechon asado, enchiladas, flan and tres leeches - all really really delicious, and the best we have has up here! However, the service did put a damper on our experience. (It's a good thing we were with good friends who we were happy to spend time catching up with or we would have complained). No one checked on our table for at least 45 minutes, and everything was extremely delayed and beyond slow. We actually felt bad for our server as you could tell she was working very hard and needed support. In fact, she seemed to be working the whole restaurant -- the restaurant was entirely understaffed. Mojito Cuba Caribe does have some great potential as the food is very good, but if service doesn't improve, things will not succeed and people will not return. Overall we would return for the food, but we would order it to go!
