Ok we came back again! And will come back again and again. This was a party of 4 with a baby. We came during dinner when it was a little busier and they had a waitress. She was super sweet and fast. The bartender even came over and brought the baby animal crackers for him to snack on. This was great service. Now about the food: ISOPS- simply the best there are. Got a pepperoni isop an a sweet peppers and onions. Perfectly cooked and the sauce is great. We also got wings and they were amazing. And when I say amazing wings that's something because I don't like wings. And then about the beer: they have some decent beer on tap usually. They have gotten better at serving then in the right glasses.

Great bar food at terrific prices! Good wings! Waitstaff very warm, nice and accomodating. Typical bar atmosphere-noise and cigarette smoke but worth the trip.

Waited 45+ minutes for what I thought would be a small pizza. When I saw the $10 pizza served I couldn't believe it. Must have forgotten about me or had to run to the market to buy the frozen pizza they served me. Always heard good things about their pizza and I just don't get it. Don't have to try again. I wont be back. So disapointing and a really long wait for terrible tiny (personal sized) pizza. It was so bad. Service was lackluster at best, bartender was waiting tables. Not warm or friendly, more like I was an annoyance. All I can guess is this place is way past its prime and somewhay divey. Empty on a weekend afternoon with strange vibe.

Maybe I'm spoiled by the rest of DelCo but I don't get the love this place gets. The food is average, the staff is clueless and the clientele are a trainwreck. Their inside outs are subpar, small and dry. 40 cent wing night is pretty great but their is no "mild" option so you can either get hot or super hot wings. The beer list is ok, yet overpriced. I'd rather spend my hard earned dollars at a better pizza pub like Pinnochios.

Beer selection is awesome. Owners/Staff are unforgettable. Ambiance is family friendly. Prices are great and food is spectacular... Especially ISOPS!!

Went there on a wednesday for 40cent wings and I was happy. They only had 3 or for sauces and I wasn't in the mood for anything spicy so the bbq was tangy and great. Probably heavily vinegar based. and for 4 bucks, I was happy with my snack.

I ordered a tuna hoagie and was disappointed to find that the tuna was bad. I went back to get something else and the owner screamed and cursed at me and subsequently threw me out! Will NEVER go back there again!

I think you might have to be born and raised Delco to get the obsession with Pappou's... I just love it, that's kind of all it boils down to. Not a place that I would generally go on a Friday/Saturday night just to grab some beers, but if their food is involved, it's a nice change of pace. For me, it's all about the food here. It's inexpensive, and it's good. If you're expecting some lavish meal with options abound and servers to cater to your every whim... why on earth are you looking at small local bars? The take-out beer area is a nice bonus, they usually have something there I haven't tried, and depending on who's working you can get some honest reviews on what's good and what's not in craft beer. It's a little more expensive for a 6-pack than some other places, but not by much. The downsides: the smoke in the bar can be annoying, as can the tiny awkward parking lot. Also, it's cash only. Try an ISOP, drink a craft beer, get their wings (especially on Wacky Wing Wednesday), take a 6-pack of something different for the fridge at home and call it a day.

It is what it is... a GREAT bar. The food is probably the best bar food you can get. Really good selection of food considering that it's a bar! The prices can't be beat and the beer selection is awesome... it's always changing and they have the best take out beer selection around. Great service, too!

Wow. What is with all the low stars here? Is the food good? No, for the most part, it's standard greasy bar food. The pizza is "eh" at best and really only good for soaking up the beer in your bellah. The ISOPs are tasty and definitely above average for Delco bar grub, but they certainly don't compare with any of the offerings at your average Philly gastropub, tapas bar, or whatever the cool kids are eating on Passyunk Ave. this week. But you know what? I'm okay with that. With the exception of the ISOPs, they aren't claiming to have the most amazing food you've ever eaten. The food wasn't what drew me in: it was the gajillion beer taps all around the bar, in the windows, on the tables, etc. Every time we have gone there, they have at least one great thing on tap. The selection has never disappointed me. Ever. Maybe I've just lucked out, but we always seem to get the same bartender. (White guy, bald, looks like he's in his mid-30s; I think his name is Victor.) Dude is on the ball, we've never waited longer than a minute for our next round, and he manages to be friendly without being overbearing (as well as backing off without making me feel like I'm hassling him to get me a fresh drink). On top of this, they have a surprisingly good selection of packaged goods and $2.50 drafts on Tuesdays. How can you complain about that? Seriously, y'all? If dive bars with a great beer selection are your thing, ignore the naysayers and check it out for yourself.

Great place. A small smokey dive with pretty good, cheap food. What's great: The places tends to have some good imported or craft brews on tap. And the pizza is amazing! I don't know what it is about their sauce, but it's addictive! Check it out if you're in the area.

I truly believe Pappou's is undeserving of their measly 3 stars... they surely warrant at least a 4. As far as food goes, it's not gourmet, it's not fantastic, it's not out of this world, but as far as bar food goes it's pretty damn good and incredibly well priced. Especially noteworthy are the wings on Wednesdays (30 cents a wing,) and the burger deals (which I believe is $3.10 for two burgers and a soda.) The pizza is also quite good, as are their ISOPS (inside out pizzas,) hoagies, chili, soups, and a handful of other items. Much of the food is also homemade which is quite impressive as well. Though they don't have THE most amazing beer selection, they truly and clearly do try. There is always something they have I'm interested in and happy to drink (especially on Tuesdays when they have $2.50 pints.) The staff are also very friendly, especially once they start to recognize you. My friends and I go here almost religiously every Wednesday and it's for good reason.

A typical local Delco bar. Good food, decent-enough bartenders, and your average Delco crowd ranging from the ID-bearing to the middle-aged and then some. The ISOPs are wonderful. If you don't know what an ISOP is you will just have to order one or three. They have good craft beers on draft, and some of them will wreck your night twice as fast as any regular beer for a reasonable price. Your bartender experience may vary, but they are usually all good and I have never had a problem with them. Tip well, don't be a douchebag, and don't harass them. If the place is busy you can't expect them to fill your glass at the drop of a hat. The parking lot is pretty small. If you are familiar with the area park on a side street and walk up to the place because the lot can hold maybe seven cars or something? I guess you could park in the Burger King lot, but I don't know if they have any rules about parking in their lot.

One of the best places in Springfield to grab a beer.

  • Ben F.

I want to like this place more than I do... but I just can't. The service at the bar is terrible. It takes forever to get a drink, and that goes the same if you are just carrying out food or beer. Not to mention some of the clientele can be pretty annoying. The ISOPs have gone down hill but price has gone way up over the years. Sometimes you get one and it is damn near empty. If you want good ISOP, go to Double Decker. 30c wings on Wednesday is worth it.

Went to Pappou's, our 2nd visit, and my wife and we were very disappointed! We loved our first visit so I guess my expectation were a bit high but the service and food were terrible. Funny part is I don't complain about Resteraunts I normally just don't go back (too many Resteraunts too waste my time & money). I have to chalk this night up to a just a bad day because we enjoyed our 1st visit so much...I 'm hoping they don't disappoint! For the record we had wings (the only thing that was good), chicken cheese steak, roast beef sandwich and 2 beers ea. Two stars only because the wings were good...sorry for the poor review but you guys earned it. Probably wouldn't have written this at all had the service not been so poor our waitress was just plan rude!

Pappou's holds a special place in my heart. Mostly for their "Wacky Wing Wednesdays" where every Wednesday, wings are only thirty cents a pop. Though small, their wings are hot and tasty and best of all cheap. But they have so much more! The ISOPs (inside-out pizzas) are absolutely delish. It's like a pizza pocket. Their regular pizza is also tasty! Fries and burgers are satisfying too. Their food is nothing stupendous, but it certainly gets the job done and is hella cheap. What I love most about Pappou's is that it's just a great place to kick it with friends while scarfing down wings. The waiters are also cool dudes, especially Victor(ino).

Strange place, strange location, strange customers, great isops.

"Ok" about sums up this place. The positives are that they have a pretty good bottle list, with a few ciders, which was nice on a hot summer afternoon. They also have a few good beers on tap, and not just budmillercoors. A few tv's around, too, but you're not indundated with wall-to-wall tv's. The food is decent, albeit a bit on the salty side. I needed about 5 glasses of water after two of their "isop"'s (inside-out-pizza) (which is more like a pizza pocket). The negatives are the smoking, the smallish feeling space, and just a weird feeling....you know that feeling, when you don't exactly feel "welcome" somewhere? Yea, that's it... Also, unless I missed something, their parking lot is pretty small, so I don't know how they would handle Fri/Sat night crowds. Oh, no credit cards. That would've been nice to know going in... So not sure if I'll be back - time will tell...

Someone said it in a previous review. It is what it is. That's very true of this place. It certainly is what it is, and it is nothing more than what it is. Lower your expectations significantly, forgive the bartender if he's a little slow getting to you, and appreciate this place for what it is... a bar that makes a pretty darn good ISOP (inside out pizza). The wings weren't bad either, and their beer selection is equally not bad. Better than others, not as good as others, solidly in the middle on all accounts. My favorite was the aforementioned ISOPs. I don't know if they were better than Double Decker, the standard bearer in our area for such things, but they were piping hot out of the fryer. That's all they need to be in the end. Sure, the cheese and sauce tends to collect on one end of the ISOP, but it's worth it once you get to that point. The place isn't a foodie destination by any means. Center City socialites wouldn't be caught dead here. But in the end that's all OK. I appreciate what it has. Plus, their signs out front have been cracking me up for years as I drive past.

  • Ben G.

Don't waist your time on anything else. Get the ISOP. You can only get it here. It's the perfect combination of crispy and savory. In the end the overload of cheese and succulent sauce tops off the ISOP with a bouquet of, well.....bliss. Great beer selection. Excellent local dynamic. Come here. It's great.

Best food ever. Enough said. There "naked wings" are incredible, no wings compare to pappous wings.

  • Francie T.

Watch out for the owner's daughter. If she doesn't like you, she'll ban you from the bar!! She's quite a jerk. Otherwise, food is great. Nice dive bar. Just don't cross the owner.

  • Aurora C.

I have been going to Pappous since I was a kid (for pizza of course, not beer). I love it here. It's your typical neighborhood bar where everyone knows your name. The food is standard bar food, but the pizza is great! The sauce is onion-y and delicious. They always have a great selection of beers on tap, and inexpensive drinks. I will say that the service at the tables tends to be a little slow from time to time, but it's part of what give Pappou's its charm.

Great beer selection, even better prices. A good place to just chill out at after a long day
