I've only gotten takeout from this place, and it's always been pizza, however I will keep going back. They are friendly and quick (no 30 minute wait time for a pizza) and their tomato pies are very good, especially for not being in Chambersburg. Don't ask them to deliver to Jersey though, even though we are right over the border, they won't do it. This is my only complaint.

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME....THIS PLACE IS "MEH" AT IT'S BEST. TOMATO PIE: the two stars are for the "trenton tomato pie" which is FAIR to GOOD ("OK" if you don't feel like driving out to hamilton). This pie can be good ...and it can be really lousy... depending on who's making them and what night. It certainly is NOT anything like a real trenton pie to begin with. Problem is, the crust around the edge is good, and (generally) fully cooked, when you get to the center of the pie it's almost always DISGUSTING: a soggy mess, SO soggy one can actually ROLL the slice (square and crustless) into a soggy, mushy, DRIPPING pizza roll of tepid dough and cheese. Absolutely and positively gross. And THIS is still on a good night! ANTIPASTO SALAD: Mmmmm you'll want an Italian chopped salad while you're waiting. Can't wait, huh? I believe this salad is $9. IF...note I said IF...it were good, $15 wouldn't be too much, now would it? But, sadly.... it's NOT good. It's $9 worth of miniscule chopped pieces of lettuce, tiny chopped pieces of salami? Ham? Some sort of cheese? Maybe a few olives. Might feed an anorexic on a diet. Really disappointing at any price. Maybe if they charged $4 it would seem fair. ENTREES: the menu is large and totally OVERPRICED for what you'll receive. In ALL categories. For $17, the chicken parm looks like it would be a good choice. And a great deal. So we'll go with that. And guess what? It really isn't bad. However, you receive two VERY SMALL, THIN, POUNDED pieces of POOR quality chicken, (oh, is that a rather large piece of inedible gristle? YES! Indeed it IS!), drenched and SWIMMING in sauce, in the center of a completely unattractive and unadorned plate. Spaghetti on the side was served in a small bowl; good if it were WARM or HOT...which it wasn't...so "FAIR". Salad: tiny, served on what appeared to be a bread and butter plate.(Try to use a knife to slice a piece of lettuce and half the salad will fall off the plate.) You'll need to ASK the server for bread, which someone will eventually bring (often halfway through your dinner) and you may receive 2 or 3 small rolls which are actually quite good, as well as 1 or 2 pats of butter. Oh boy. So for $40 to $50 with tip you'll get two less than adequate chicken parm dinners and leave hungry. SOUNDS FAIR TO ME! DECOR: you are proudly sitting in a FORMER PIZZA HUT, people! AND IT SHOWS. Someone may have ripped up the old pizza hut rug and installed new flooring but kept the overall vibe. Flat screen televisions are a lovely (NOT) touch (because people are bored I suppose?), the lighting isn't bad. Really maybe a "1" for ambiance. Not zero, but certainly no more than "1". SERVICE: Mostly good servers and some not. It all depends on the day / night. I would NOT ask a question and expect a true answer, as in "how is the Marsala?" because conveniently, none of them have eaten it. Basically it's a guessing game. LOCATION: Lock the doors of your car. Seriously. Do it. And don't stand outside of your car for more than a minute unless you want to give a donation to a vagrant who happens to need $2 to get a bus back to Trenton. (oddly, they walked over the bridge FROM Trenton). IF YOU MUST EAT HERE, because perhaps you live close by and/or think this is actually an Italian restaurant with Italian chefs (sadly you're mistaken), then I would go for the tomato pie (pizza) and nothing more.

Driving back from NJ and looking for an early dinner, my husband had heard about La Villa from a client, and we were in the area so we decided to give it a try. We kept it simple with the signature tomato pie - the "Thin Sicilian". It was delicious! This pizza is not for sauce lovers, (go to Joe Santucci's in NE Philly for tomato pie with thick sauce) with chunky tomatoes rather than a smearing of red sauce over the crust. Very thin crispy crust, a good amount of garlic, and cheese completed the pizza package. The service was good and the place, though fairly empty when we arrived, started filling up as we were leaving. Obviously a local's pizza joint. We will definitely be returning!

THIS PLACE IS BYOB! Anyway I had the pleasure of stopping here, conveniently placed next to the Comfort Inn I was staying at I decided to give it a try. Walked in was greeted at the door by almost all of the polite staff they have as I waited to be seated. After being seated my waitress quickly got my order down. I had started with the Minestrone soup which was quite tasty and the perfect portion accompanied by crispy Italian and Garlic Bread. For my main course I had Manicotti which I highly suggest, I am a cheese lover and this dish was loaded with great mozzarella and ricotta cheese. Throughout my dining experience Kristen my waitress kept up with me and politely made sure I was fine, and the bus boys were on point with keeping my table clean. Overall I wanna thank my waitress and the entire staff that out my meal together as it was delicious and enjoyable experience. ;)

The "Famous Chambersburg Tomato Pie" is worth the trip. I was hungry and traveling in an unfamiliar locale, and Yelp did not steer me wrong. I was skeptical of the limited number of reviews, but the place was packed for lunch, which is usually a good sign. Local businessmen and women, retired couples, families, all enjoying either pizza or the lunch buffet or both. While the buffet looked enticing - $7.95 for your choice of four of a variety of pasta dishes, hot and cold, as well as pizza and salad - I had to try the tomato pie. My lovely server suggested the personal size, and it was absolutely delicious. I devoured every bite. Even though La Villa appears to be a locals joint, I never felt uncomfortable dining alone. If my travels take me back to the area, I will be stopping by for more!

Love this place, have gotten takeout and eaten in many times. Their pizza is always crispy, hot, delicious and full of toppings. One thing I've noticed is, their pizza is same whether dining in or takeout. That is a difficult feat to accomplish. Usually it's crispy when dining in, but when you order take out, it's soggy and not as good. Not the case here. I've had pasta entrees for lunch and was very pleased as well. I'll definitely keep coming back and enjoying every moment!

Some of the best pizza in this part of Bucks County. The Tomato Pie with Broccoli Rob is out of this world - best I've ever had! Been a customer for a few years now & my wife won't order from anywhere else, it's really that good!

Best tomato pie this side of the Delaware crust is thin crispy usually get the square half sausage and always delicious. Have also tried their other Italian dishes and have found them to just as good.

Went here specifically to try the tomato pies. Got a plain red and a white with broccoli rabe and sausage. The red pie was rather disappointing. Sauce was a little too chunky and not much used. The white pie was good but not worth the $15 or whatever it was for a small. They do an 8 course Italian dinner once a month which sounds interesting. Haven't tried their food so I can't comment on that. The Tomato Pie was overpriced and disappointing though.

The dining room was very nice, and so were the waitresses. For a man starving to have anything for lunch, it was just by luck that I found this place....

When you pull up to La Villa you're clearly walking into a converted old Pizza Hut - but once inside you can see that management's taken at least a few extra steps to make it feel more their own space. See the 4th paragraph of my review of Marcello's in Bordentown, but insert the word "garlic" in place of each reference to "parmesan" in that paragraph. Luckily, I don't find excessive garlic quite as offensive as excessive parmesan, hence the 1 additional star.

Been going for the Chambersburg pizza, which is a fair replica, for a few years, but tonight I was very disappointed in the Caesar salad. Asked for salad for the table (4) of us. We each got a very small salad plate portion... To the tune of $25. Not to mention it lacked flavor, had to add more cheese. The salad was more money than our pizza! Then when I questioned the owner, she was going to check with her husband and never came back! I work too hard for money to be ripped off. Won't be back anytime soon :(

  • Ian L.

I've been here only once, but that was enough to make me fall in love with the place. It was here at La Villa that I had what I believe is the BEST calzone I've ever had! I had a calzone that consisted of mozzarella and ricotta cheese, tomato, and bacon. Not only was it cheap, but it was HUGE, and it tasted fantastic! If you're ever in the Trenton area and need a pizza fix, just take the "Trenton Makes" Bridge (no toll) over to Morrisville, and I promise you won't be disappointed!

A close friend and i went to La Vila for a late lunch today. Ordered the hoyse salad which was large enough to split. Also ordered the La Villa tomato pie. Wow what a great tomato pie. Delicious!

  • David M.

I tried their lunch buffet but it as a really big let down as its not really a "buffet" you just pick 4 items. Even then the food wasn't all that good. My work places pizza orders to la villa every now and then and the general opinion is the pizza is just alright. Its thin, kinda soggy, and bland. Co-workers have mentioned its closer to matzo bread with cheese.

I only tried La Villa for the first time 6 months ago. Everyone in my neighborhood has eaten there and has said that I must try it so finally I gave in and went. Now I must go at least once every two weeks with my family. The New York Style pizza and the Rustica just blew me away because they're unlike any other pizza in this area (That's saying something on the count that there are about 10 pizza shops within a 3 mile radius). Their Fried Calamari is also pretty good, but the sauce that it comes with is out of this world. I regret not trying this place sooner and it definitely is worthy of my reccomendation.

  • Josh V.

This place is absolutely out of this world! The "Thin Sicilian" is one of the two best pies I have ever had the pleasure of eating! The sauce is chunky and incredibly flavorful. The crust has a wonderful olive oily flavor without being too greasy. This is truly a must have!

I dont get how this place doesn't have any more reviews. The Trenton tomato pie is to die for. It is the best tomato pie / pizza I have ever had! You must try it. Trust me!!! The owner Gino is really nice too! Im kind of glad I don't live close by cause id be there everyday!

Fabulous Trenton Tomato Pie. I love the thin crust.

Oopps. My neighborhood joint used to be good great but they have decided that hawiiawn should be white, not red. Obviously they don't like pineapple. Bottom line -- decent food, shitty attitude you decide. LV-- you can find me on Birch Dr.

Chambersburg Tomato Pie is still to die for. Their Italian food is excellent too, but I have a hard time ordering anything else but the pizza!!!!! Pleasant waitresses and good service and the owner, Gino, always remembers you!!!!! Go there NOW for a Chambersburg pie!!

We were seated Immediately , waitress was prompt & pleasant. Our drinks & dinner were brought out in a timely manner. The garden salad was fresh & tasty. Their Tomato Pie is the Best in the Area. However if you like your dinner with alcohol it's bring your own bottle.

Was I in heaven or at La Villa? I seriously am in love with the thin crust tomato pizza and appreciated all of the love from the staff, especially walking in the door with a baby and a toddler. The thin crust Sicilian is a must - spot on crispy chewy crust - perfect cheese to sauce ratio (not overly cheesy slightly more sauce - yum!). Briefly the 6 month old turned into a Tyrannosaurus rex - we could not get the pizza to her fast enough without her shrieking for more. We searched yelp for Sicilian pizza near sesame place and this was definitely a treat. We closed out our wonderful night with a sweet busser named Pat who told me to stop straightening up the table - he takes care of that (music to a tired mom's ears) and even patrons on the way out being talkative and happy from their obviously excellent meals. absolutely wonderful - we will be back!

We had a great La Villa Traditional Square Pizza here last week. I had forgotten how delicious their pies were. It was loaded with peppers, onions, mushrooms and sausage, and baked to a wonderful crispy crust(see photo). Service was also friendly and prompt. The black clad servers certainly kept a certain 21 year old family member entertained. However, the app special Crab Cake was drenched in a cheesy white sauce that overwhelmed the titular star of the show to such an extent that the crabbiness of the crustacean was lost. The big Greek Salad while plentiful lacked imagination and an impressive dressing. I would not ask for either of those again. But, in the end it is all about the pie. La Villa's are vastly superior to any of its nearby competitors, and can stand their own with some of the best across the river in Jersey or Philly. Happily, it is much closer in Morrisville, in a nicely appointed renovated Pizza Hut structure in the middle of a strip mall parking field off Pennsylvania Avenue.

    (4)

Definitely the best pizza in the Morrisville/Yardley/Lower Makefield area. I had the Trenton Tomato Pie and it was perfect. The crust was crisped to perfection and the cheese and tomatoes were delicious.

I stopped in here for a couple of slices on Thursday evening - cold and rainy, just wanted something quick to take back to NJ with me. I ordered 2 regular slices and an interesting square slice, with tomatoes and cheese. I'll assume it was the owner (?) that slipped in a couple of other slices, on the house (it wasn't even closing time!), and it was greatly appreciated. What was MORE appreciated was the taste; good pizza, guys!! SO many pizza joints out there, it all starts to taste the same after a while. If you like thin crust, gooey cheese, and fresh sauce, go to La Villa! Can't wait to go back and try a sandwich or a meal.

I've been coming here for the 13 years living in Morrisville. Consistently delicious whether eating in or out. Service is always great, even on their most crowded evenings. I'm living in Florida now and I miss the Chamberberg pie so much. Their pasta dishes are also wonderful and each has its own unique sauce. I can't wait to come visit! I'm well over due for a la villa fix!!!

Indescribably good. You could eat 1000 pieces of the thin crust pizza. It is truly a perfect, remarkable, pizza that the locals should take great pride in. And you Mr. visitor should take a great belly full in.

I work right down the street from La Villa and it's usually the lunch spot of choice for me and my co-workers, when we go out (or order in). The Tradizionale pizza--a square pie with fresh garlic, oil, and sausage -- has to be the best pizza I have ever tasted, and I know I'm not the only one that thinks this way. Even their plain slices are far above nearly every other pizzeria I've tried. Their crusts are crispy and not too doughy, and that Tradizionale pie sausage (which is not the sausage you get if you order sausage on a regular round pizza) tastes like it was sauteed in the garlic and olive oil and is generally heavenly. If you are eating in around lunch time, it is worth noting that this place can get packed (for good reason) and service may run a little slow. Usually that's fine for me and my group, as we're not trying to rush back to work, but it's a better experience if you have the time to sit and enjoy yourself. This place is owned and run by some really nice people, also.

Delicious!

This place is absolutely out of this world! The "Thin Sicilian" is one of the two best pies I have ever had the pleasure of eating! The sauce is chunky and incredibly flavorful. The crust has a wonderful olive oily flavor without being too greasy. This is truly a must have!

The tomato pie here is out of this world. Perfect thin and crispy crust, delicious tomato sauce (with actual chunks of tomato) and seasoned to perfection. Nothing else needs to be said.

We LOVE the Thin Sicilian tomato pie!!! Whenever family comes to visit they ask if we can go. The prices are great and the place is always busy but not overwhelming.

My family drives an hour each way once a month to all meet here the food is so good!! In an area saturated with Italian food, traveling great distance for a pie is a great complement.

Oopps. My neighborhood joint used to be good great but they have decided that hawiiawn should be white, not red. Obviously they don't like pineapple. Bottom line -- decent food, shitty attitude you decide. LV-- you can find me on Birch Dr.

I'm taking a vacation to NJ in August and my first stop will be lunch at La Villa on the way to the shore to visit friends. Can't wait. Hell, I'll stop there on the way back, too.

We were seated Immediately , waitress was prompt & pleasant. Our drinks & dinner were brought out in a timely manner. The garden salad was fresh & tasty. Their Tomato Pie is the Best in the Area. However if you like your dinner with alcohol it's bring your own bottle.

Definitely the best pizza in the Morrisville/Yardley/Lower Makefield area. I had the Trenton Tomato Pie and it was perfect. The crust was crisped to perfection and the cheese and tomatoes were delicious.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
