As long as you are OK with indoor smoking at diners... and if you REALLY LIKE diners, Terry's is a great place--especially late at night in this area! If you don't like cigarette smoke, you probably shouldn't go to diners anyway, but if you like great diner food, grab a booth and get ready to eat. I am not from the area and have only been once, so there may be some who disagree with my opinion that Terry's is fantastic, the services is excellent, the prices can't be beat and they're open late! What more can anyone ask for?

Great Diner food at Great Diner Prices!

Horrible service, disgusting food, portions are tiny, I ordered from them recently and they forgot part of my combo, when I went back to get it, no one apologized for the mistake and my side of cole slaw was the size of a tablespoon, the food was bland and the sides were small, this place is a ripoff , I will never go back there again, this place is poorly managed and the owners need to get a reality check! If you want great food and good service I recommend going to Grande restaurant up the road

The staff were great. The food was definitely good, diner fare. Price is outstanding for the quantity you get. One person can eat comfortably under $10. I'm not in the area often, but it will be on my list of places to go.

Cinnamon Toast Crunch French Toast! My wife and I and another couple tried Terry's for brunch after a late night of drinking. I ordered the french toast and the waiter recommended I try their french toast that they dip in Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal. Well it was delicious. The rest of our party enjoyed their food (all typical diner fare) and the price was very reasonable. I have no problem recommending Terry's.

Its a huge dinner divided in three sections. They offer more than 200 dishes including breakfast brunch nd dinner items. I tried couple of things including house special soup, grilled cheese sandwich, chocolate chip pan cake. I liked grilled cheese, that was crisp and fresh. Pan cakes were ok ok The food is good but its not awesome.

We visited Terry's after leaving Montage Mountain where we had attended Camp Bisco for the past three days. We pretty much stopped at the first place with breakfast food we passed and were my disappointed. Linda seated us and was immediately very polite and seemed like she could tell how much we needed a hot meal in a civilized dining room. They seemed like they were usually pretty busy but clearly were experiencing a higher than usual volume for Sunday morning- even still service was prompt and quality. Standout menu items were the shrimp scampi, steak and eggs and the pressed sandwiches. Overall a great breakfast and very nice staff!

There are not quite a lot of establishments in today's world which have a rich history and have been around for a while serving customers. Terry's diners does fall into those one of a kind places because of it's rich history. It's an authentic 1950's diner which authentic diner food and ambiance(with stainless steel, terrazzo floor, and juke box). The space at Terry's is divided into 3 sections mainly the counter top seating , the casual dining section , and another elegant dining section mainly for parties and banquets. In the true tradition of diners, the menu is very extensive listing over 200 items - from breakfast (served anytime) to sandwiches, wraps, subs, salads, and full course dinners. We came here twice during our recent stay in the area. We tried a couple of things like house special soup, grilled chesse, chocolate chip pancakes & fish entree. The food is good but not awesome though the service is really good.

We had a delightful lunch at Terry's on a hot summer day this past August. I had a full course baked fish dinner while my wife ordered potato pancakes. Both meals were done in a home style fashion and were very tasty. The service was also good. Our waitress was very patient with us because we took quite a long time to finally make up our minds about what we were having as my wife has some dietary issues like gluten intolerance to deal with. We also asked about the television show, THE OFFICE, which is set in Scranton. Our waitress called over to the owner of Terry's to fill us in, and he came over and greeted us at our table and talked about it. Apparently, the TV show offered local businesses the opportunity to suggest a contribution from their business to the show, so TERRY'S offered their menu and it was used in one or more episodes of the show. So, it was fun to be dining at a place that not only has decades of history as a family diner, but now has earned a tad of a television fame and also has plenty of delicious items on their menu with great hospitality to boot. And while you are at it don't forget to meander your way down to the local shopping mall where you can find the famous sign "Welcome to SCRANTON, PA" used at the opening scene of THE OFFICE, and relocated to the Mall after it was becoming a road hazard with out of townies taking photos ops and stopping traffic on that hill that leads down into Scranton, PA.

Classic PA diner...simple but good. Food was average/good and priced decently. The Irish soda bread in the bread basket was freaking delicious. If I lived nearby I'd be in there all the time just for that bread. Our waitress was phenomenal. Probably one of the best servers we've ever had. Super attentive and so sweet with our daughters. We'll definitely eat here again when we're in the area.

Stopped by Terry's Diner this morning to try it out. I'm a huge fan of diners and small mom and pop places so had to visit. We were one of the first patrons in the diner since it opens at 7AM and we walked in at 7:05AM. My friend and I were greeted by very kind waitress and were allowed to seat ourselves. For drinks we ordered a large orange juice and coffee. The coffee was really watery. Drinking it black and I could see the bottom by half cup. Not sure if they have different orange juice sizes, but the one served was medium sized and pretty good. Unfortunately it was just pricy in my opinion for the size. As for the food, we decided to order off the Sunday Special menu. I ordered pancakes with strawberries and my friend ordered blueberry stuffed French toast. The food came out with great timing. The strawberry pancakes were fantastic- well displayed and delicious. I'm a big fan that they loaded the strawberries on the pancakes. As for the blueberry French toast.. Not so good. Two issues: a little too bland and a little disappointed with the portion for the price. Overall the waitresses were funny and welcoming, and the service was pleasing.

Food is great. Service generally great. However after finding a hair in our food we were made aware the owner doesn't offer a replacement on the house as is traditionally the common restaurant etiquette in any decent well established eatery. Having a health food critic by profession in the family, consideration to pursue the proper ethical authorities regarding the matter was a possible decision. Mabey the owner will read this and reconsider his generally unfavorable received policy. Particularly when its a HAIR.

This is a typical silver diner establishment. The food is average with some hits on the menu. The panini sandwiches are good. The breakfast items are great. Other items like the hamburgers were just average. The servers are typically nice. Places like this will live forever as a quick bite or a local dive. Don't miss this one if you're driving through town. Tons of parking and a nice array of cakes and pies.

It is mostly breakfast here for us (so we won't comment on other meals which appear good), and we always enjoy it. Easy Rout 81 access, decent prices, plenty of parking, HC and front step access, open late, decent diner coffee (not Starbucks...), varied menu selections (kielbasi and hash as well as steak are breakfast options), with just enough 'diner charm' to make it nice enough. Our breakfast favs are good ol' eggs with meat combos and the huge pancakes. Most breakfasts we've tried seem to be good. The Monty Breakfasto is very good...great as breakfast or brunch. One thing we found annoying is that after a certain time (11:00ish?) there was a charge for or maybe no home fries (they offered french fries instead for a charge...) with the egg dish we ordered...I don't recall more detail but be aware if it matters, just in case. The lunch and dinner menus are large and varied. Daily specials are the norm. The original diner burned years ago and was replaced by this one from a few miles away which is still 'authentic'. A lot more capacity was added on with extended rooms. Now the ambiance is pretty well old time diner or newish add on ...OK. It is a decent diner, convenient to the Moosic and Davis Street exits on 81. Not world class, but above average for local diners in PA.

Burgers were okay, nothing spectacular but not gross either. My husband caught a staff member smoking in the mens restroom which was a huge turn off since the restaurant is now "non-smoking" :(
