What a disappointment. Instantly rubbed the wrong way by the surly "hostess" whose job it was to brusquely ask patrons if they had "signed in." She seemed to be generally disgusted, if not at least inconvenienced, by everyone who walked through the door. I am accustomed to waiting for seating on the weekends at popular breakfast joints, but we waited for over half an hour for a table (again, not unheard of, but I wish we had been offered a seat at the counter that we didn't see behind the hostess that was nearly empty). Once we were seated, a lovely, lovely lady came over to greet us and take our order (the only reason this place gets two stars instead of one). We ordered, she quickly brought us our drinks, and here is where the absurdity really begins. Orange juice is clearly a mix or from a machine. Unacceptable. I'm sorry, but if you purport to serve "country cookin'" or whatever, and you're going to charge me $3, GIVE ME REAL ORANGE JUICE. This certainly isn't the only place that has committed this sin, but it bothers me so so much. Anyway, our food took I don't know how long to make its way to our table. The folks next to us, who were seated just before we were, had eaten and left and the next party had arrived BEFORE WE GOT OUR FOOD. This could be attributed to the utter chaos that could be witnessed in the kitchen in the back. Several plates of food went by us and back to the kitchen multiple times. Finally, the food. I got some sort of "Mess" -- mine was chipped beef gravy and biscuits (though I'm pretty sure I ordered sausage gravy, but it took so long that I forgot). Tasted like paste. Serving was ridiculously huge (not that I'm opposed to this). Home fries were good. My partner said his food was OK. I tried his sausage -- COOKED TO DEATH. It was cheap and our lovely server didn't charge us for drinks. I'm seriously disappointed that there seems to be little in the way of good, hearty breakfast places around here, and I thought this might be the ticket. Though I've given this place two stars, I might return on a weekday when it isn't so chaotic -- but only if I'm feeling adventurous.

Went for breakfast. All breakfast food was good, good portions, good price. If you have never had scrapple before, tread carefully although the guy sitting next to me clearly comes daily and says the scrapple is the best around. Good place to stop - very friendly staff.

Best Breakfast in the area. Don't forget about the pies! Tons of good things to say about this place. The breakfast outstanding and you get a lot of food. The Country Mess is highly recommended. Its an egg enigma, wrapped in a riddle, covered in Sausage Gravy!!!! Get it with a side of scrapple (the only place that i know that serves it) for a great way to start your food coma. The deserts are great here. All made in house with love. Huge selection of pies and all are excellent. Yes, I have been known to have pie with my breakfast. The dinner specials always look good and are traditional central PA home cooking meals. Chicken and Waffles, Country Fried Steak, and Roasted Chicken just to name a few. The recently gave the place a face lift and added more seating. They need to put the Pie Board back up on the wall. Anytime I have visitors from out of town we go out here for breakfast. breakfast for 4 is never over $30 Great Place that only the locals know about.

Great homemade food at a very reasonable price. I'd recommend any of their home made breads. The omelette looks strange because it's basically ingredients wrapped in a plain scrambled egg shell but my family really enjoyed that and the home fries!

Country cooking. The dinner portions are not huge but the prices are not real high either. I ordered chicken and waffles (on special) they only gave half a waffle. Also it didn't have gravy which I thought was weird until the waitress brought it out separate. Not bad food, I would say average.

It was very busy but the service was fast. A few things forgotten, but after asking this was rectified quickly. The Mac n' Cheese is soooo good! Best that I've ever had. The rest of the meal was average (turkey club & fried fish). Lots of food for the dinner entree. Very reasonably priced too. Although the yelp listing offered 20% off, the counter was unable to process it stating, "we would need the paperwork or you'd need to print that off". The listing actually said to show it to your server. They refused the redeem it.

I have come here forever... Breakfast, lunch. Dinner, easter. Thanksgiving, anniversaries... We always called it Mom's because the lady that ran the place was "mom". When ever I come back home I always like to come here

Good friendly service and great portions, good prices. Food was good too but different than what I'm used to from the south. :-)

I had a very enjoyable meal here. Son and daughter-in-law took wife and I there for a different place to eat. A nice little mom and pop restaurant that gives ample portions. Very good place to go.

I was delighted by the chicken corn soup. The chicken sandwich that followed was pretty good, too. My iced tea glass was never close to empty. Service was very, very good and friendly to this traveller. Will likely stop again next time I pass through this lovely part of Pennsylvania and order dessert first.

Country cooking where the locals go. We had delicious good sized portions of Chicken Parmesan and Ham Steak. Garlic bread was so good, we asked for more. Good, fast service. Well worth the 8 miles from interstate 80.

The food was average. I had home fries, pancakes, eggs and bacon. Home fries were tasteless with a lot of bad spots on the potatoes.

Their new Selinsgrove location is not impressive, neither was their Northumberland location. The owner is turning away walk-in customers due to take out orders all while entertaing pepsico employees. If they cannot handle both they should reconsider their business model. I ordered a burger with sweet potato fries and some mozzarella sticks after being informed of a 30 minute wait due to the take out orders. Needless to say, my burger came out 1st with french fries no sweet potato fries. My mozzarella sticks came out Bout 10 minutes later. This restraunt is staying off my radar!!!
