This place is a little different. Yes its a sports bar, but it has one of those odd, yet memorable twists. For example, they just couldn't help but type "lube" all over the menu. Lubenade, Lube Tube, Lubers, Lube lube lube...sounds like a dirty adult store by the time you are done. And its loud, even for a sports bar.... The food wasn't bad, but the portion seemed a bit skimpy (I left hungry). I remember the appetizer we got was boom boom shrimp. Not quite as good as bang bang from Bonefish, but eerily similar in name. We had one of those peppy type waiters like the ones from Chotchkies. If he had any more flair we'd have been wearing it. I can't say that I would recommend this place, but I don't see myself dissuading from it either. Try it for yourself. I don't drink so I can't evaluate the bar.

It was meh. The restaurant didn't smell very good walking in. Smelled like chuck-e cheese. My drink was a hard lemonade but it had a fruit fly in it. The server was nice, but a bit ditzy. The food was o.k. but in all honesty, Appalachian brewing company is a better option with similar pricing.

Can't beat the AYCE lunch buffet... if u love wings u can try them all! Instead of having buckets of wings getting cold on a buffet table they bring them fresh to your table.

We had a great time here having a late lunch. Our server was funny and attentive. I had the ribs and wings and my girlfriend ordered the 28 day aged steak. Both were fantastic as we shared each other's meals. I have been here a few times ranging from a slow holiday weekend, to a busy Saturday night and have never had bad service or a bad meal.

I have eaten here before but this is the first time where the service was excellent but the food was undercooked. I ordered a caesar salad, one pound steak, coleslaw, bang shrimp. The lettuce on the caesar salad was not washed, it was soaked in dressing not allowing the other ingredients to be tasted. The steak was suppose to be medium, it was served rare almost raw. the coleslaw was bland. then the server put the garnish, an overfried onion ring 5 minutes later. Quaker State needs to rethink their menu, stick to wings, drop all else since shrimp and steak was poorly cooked. I could not leave the restaurant without visiting the restroom twice and them again four times 20 minutes later.

Took the family per my 12 year olds birthday request. The list of issues is long - but I'll try to get them all in. Forgot to order one meal and didn't notice till all the food was out. Owned up to it, and he watched us eat while it was made. Never brought silverware or napkins - had to ask after our food arrived. Brought out a few tablespoons of Queso for our appetizer of chips. Never came back to check. Had to ask for more halfway through. My chicken wrap was cold, over cooked and bland. Aside from being SLOW - they never came to sing to my daughter. They did offer a gift card for my uneaten wrap, and gave my daughter her brownie sundae...to go.

I am from Mechanicsburg. But I have lived in Pittsburgh for the last 10 years. So I was super-excited to see a Quaker Steak here. Put simply, this location is not as good as the Oakland or Robinson locations. While my wings were fresh and juicy, my brother's wings were dried up and nasty. The staff was polite, but seemed depressed. And I saw an empty table sit un-bussed for 30 minutes before I left. I spent 10 years working in restaurants. So I have a good idea of how they work. The staff seemed uninterested in working there. I wonder if this location is not receiving the traffic needed to keep the staff engaged and working their best. Nothing kills a restaurant like servers walking with $20 in tips at lunch. Plus, everytime I google "Mechanicsburg Quaker Steak," the York location comes up. If I was the manager here, I would ask corporate to help with paid google ads. I am going back tonight with a buddy. I hope its dinner service is better, as the Pens aren't playing, so we are watching the stupid Flyers. JK.

The atmosphere here is hard rock cafe meets... a gas station? I'm not sure what is going on here. They sell tshirts at the door so you know the food will be devine.... with a large vegetarian selection. It was fathers day and it wasn't busy at all but we got sat right in the far around-the-corner booth anyway. I should've trusted my instincts and high tailed it out of there! Took 15 minutes to get drinks. Took another 35 minutes for the food. I had a salmon that was cold and not on purpose. Waitress had to bring me a new one which I then sat there and stared at my family eating for another good 15 minutes. What I saw was that my brother had a rice bowl that looked nuked and also cold. And my man eating wings with that face babies make before they eat anything green. Over all the only good thing is that it was so slow the manager notice the terrible service and took off two meals. We left after that first experience at Quaker Steak confused, mad, and still hungry. I wish the manager can give me those 3 hours of my life back.

Not a first time visitor to the chain, but this was my first time at the new Mechanicsburg PA location. I was there with a group of 10-12, and this location has not been open long... Maybe 6-8 weeks or so. Located where the Old Country Buffet used to be, near the Navy Depot. The parking lot is large and arranged so most spaces give you a 'close to the door' feeling. There are a couple spots closest to the front that are for wing pick-up. Door pulls mimic gasoline nozzles, and lots of automotive, racing, and popular/contemporary entertainer items litter the walls and they sell T-shirts/sweat shirts. Menu is large, and full of bar food, wings, and the like. The service was fast and friendly, and they used a team to wait on us. I had a glass of Moscato, and the grilled, boneless wing combo with broccoli/beer cheese. Amount of food was large with 4 tenders, and a $20 bill took care of the tab and left a tip that exceeded 20%. Not the healthiest place to eat. Not the most interesting, but a solid place to meet, drink and eat.

Excellent wings. We went for the buffet lunch on a Friday. For $12 it's all u can eat salad, soup, sides, entree of the day and wings. It was clean, well lit, with prompt and friendly service. After reading the other reviews I guess it was quieter then during NASCAR or games. We mostly ignored the buffet to save room for wings (the soft pretzels, chips and funnel fries were good, and the salad bar lets you stock up on ranch dressing rather than pay by the cup like in most places). They have a good craft beer selection on tap, I had a Great Lakes Chillwave double IPA (9.5%). The wings were fantastic. We only tried the bone in variety. They are served in trays of 4 (2 if you ask). We tried 7 different kinds, our fave was the "Thai R Cracker" (not sure why they are called that!). All wings were fresh, flavorful and juicy. Aside from Kaya's Island Eats in Key West, these were the best wings we've had in years. Our server, Brittney, was perfect. We will definitely be back when we want great wings!

Was passing through the area on our way back from bass pro in Harrisburg and saw a billboard for the lube, we've never eaten there before since there are none local to is in MD so I was excited to see one now open... There was no wait even though they were pretty packed on a sat night... Our server was very good, the food was great! I loved the wings and my wife loved her steak n cheese pasta.. The place as a whole had a really good feel.. And our meal wasn't too expensive ...I hope they build one near me soon ..

I have been to the Mechanicsburg location 4 times now. Each time was mediocre or above. But it is a sports bar type establishment. I enjoyed the bone in wings the most. Very good. But I suppose everyone has their own wing preferences. Their boneless wings were not very good. I've had better from a bag. Don't go when its too busy or too slow, the quality seems to suffer. If I'm out that way and want wings I'll easily go again. Also service could be improved upon. But I am very picky about service.
(3)Leen W.
2 stars b'coz taking into considerstion that it serves very generic Sports Bar food one has to wait to be seated. .... we had to wait for almost an hour on Saturday evening. .... maybe b'coz it was Saturday we had to wait. Still a wait thst long is not an excuse. One star attraction though - beer can be ordered in some unique way where it is for entire tablr and remains chill.

First time. Will return. Only downside is noise level. Had boneless grilled wings in Asian sauce. Little bit of bite. Very good. Loaded magma fries were good and had plenty of bacon, scallions, and cheese. Definitely not upscale dining. Caters to the car or NASCAR lover. Looking forward to seeing the new one opening in York.

Quaker Steaks worst location yet. Horrible service. Food quality is loss when it is not promptly delivered. I gave them three chances, my mistake. I hope the next restaurant in the location spends less money remodeling and more money training servers.
(1)Josh C.
Have gone here a few times and have had great experiences both times. Both times we have eaten here we've had to wait, but the wait time was the same or less than what we were told. Once we were seated, we were waited on very quickly and ordered drinks and apps and the wait time for our meals wasn't very long. both times we ordered wings and they were delicious. It may just be me but compared to other wing places in the area, they tasted more fresh and were tender and juicy. Only complaint I would have would be the chairs being plastic lawn chairs and their prices are more than that of Arooga's or BW's, but for me the quality makes them worth the extra few bucks.
(5)Dan K.
Not bad wings, service below average, but horrible environment. Very loud! I recommend take out. If you order "take out" make sure you wait for the food to come inside. They "don't take out" I waited over 40 minutes at the "take out" parking spot and was the only car. I went into the store to complain and my food was waiting on the table. I took my food and left for the 5 minute drive. Food was good but had to be reheated and fries had to be thrown out.
(3)Micah J.
I've been twice now. The food isn't good and I always have to ask for extra sauce when I order wings. They really skimp on the wing sauce. Nothing is fresh, it's all frozen. Service was slow and the waitress smelled like cigarettes. The decor just distracts people from the sub par food. The happy hour prices are nice but again the food is disgusting so what's the point. I'd rather go to a locally own place that makes fresh food and cares about the product they put out instead of waste my dollars at this hole.

This review is from the standpoint of their buffet. Your experience my differ if you order off the menu. Basically, You can do better. The fried chicken was dry and hard, the green beans look like the mushy kind out of a can and couldn't try them. The potato soup looked watery and my husband didn't finish it which says volumes since he's not picky about food. The wing selection was good, including two types of boneless. That was the highlight. The actual flavors, texture, size etc of the wings was nothing extraordinary. Service was poor. Our waitress was nowhere to be found to get refills let alone take the pile of plates that was adding up, get fresh napkins, etc. normal stuff, no high expectations here. My husband finally had to go get a manager to get some service. All in all, I recommend spending your hard-earned dough somewhere better and supporting a local business since there are some great non-chain restaurants in the area!
(2)Josh H.
Service good. Food is generic. No need to over brand. Serving bellow average blue cheese in a branded container, c'mon. Just another chain.
(2)S. A.
Tried this place the other day, service was good, our waitress was very nice and helpful. Menu is confusing, I couldn't order a dozen of wings because they serve by the pound and I was told prices change daily. Food was okay, nothing special. Very loud, chairs are plastic which I thought was strange. Probably won't be going back.
(2)Ashley B.
The experience with our server was great...besides that not so great. My boyfriend and I enjoy the occasional carbomb...the bartender forgot the Jameson. ( key ingredient in a carbomb) the "manager" continued walking past our table staring and grinning and did nothing about it...after our nice server Samantha explained the situation to him. As a corporate restaurant manager I expected more. In no way w as I asking for a free be of anything....at least acknowledge the fact. We will never be back.

Great place to eat! My kids loved the kids cups and swirly straws. Our waiter was very nice and noone at the table was charged for any drinks. Not sure if that is how it always is but our table of 9 has no drink charges (all were non Alcoholic). At the end of the meal everyone gets a twirler which my kids loved too :)
(5)Philip J.
Great wings and other food. I had full bucket, half Buckeye BBQ and half Boom Boom. Great flavors. I'll have to try more flavors.
(5)Jacob S.
The place was packed but the service was really good. The wings were really good and the wife loved her salmon. The homemade chips were the best I ever tasted. We will definitely return.
(4)B C.
Place had its ups and downs. Service was a bit slow, but that was expected since it was pretty crowded. Took 15 minutes to get a beer upon sitting down. Wings had really good flavor, and were nice and crisp, but unfortunately they came out room tempature. Save yourself the time and just ask for several extra ranch/blue cheese cups. The ones they give you are enough for 3 wings tops; as if there is some sort of global ranch shortage and it must be rationed. Overall I'd go back, but probably shoot for a time when they aren't so busy.

Being from Pittsburgh I am beyond excited to see Quakersteak moving east! As always the food was great but the service was horrible. We only got half of our appetizers and it was almost impossible to get drink refills. We also had to request plates, utensils and napkins. The wings are wotmrth carryout but the service will need to improve before I sit down there again.

Where do I start!? This place was a mess for a brand new restaurant. We took my parents about a month and a half ago, right after it opened. My father ordered wings and they came out, and I kid you not, there was a freakin screw in the basket with the wings. My guess is it fell off in the fryer. I flagged down a waitress and she was very kind and took it away, a short time later the managers arrived at our table. Of course, they were very apologetic but they did not offer to take anything our check. They seemed more concerned about being reported to the health inspectors than my fathers health. I was very frustrated.

Being from Western Pa originally, I know Quaker Steak and especially their wings. We visited the Mechanicsburg location when we were in town visiting family. I can only say I hope what we experienced was growing pains - i.e. a place that opened up before staff both (front of the house and kitchen) was fully trained, and before their actual chairs arrived. Indeed, the first sign of trouble was the tiny green plastic chairs - the type one buys at the local home and garden store for a backyard barbecue. I hope those are not the permanent chairs. As for the food, it seemed to be typical Quaker Steak but missing something. The wings, for example, were not served hot and crispy, and from how quickly the arrived at the table I can only assume they were pre-cooked and sitting under a heat lamp waiting to be tossed in the right sauces as the orders came in - very disappointing. The fries were also not hot and crispy. And our server was curt and not at all friendly. Overall, it was a mediocre experience. Since I know Quaker Steak to be a top quality restaurant with some of the best wings out there, I'll give it another try in a few months, when hopefully they have worked the kinks out (and hopefully, their real chairs have arrived).

This is located off Carlisle Pike and 581 behind Dunkin Donuts, has a good size parking lot. We called a head to check to see if they were busy and could fit a large party of 25 last min. They stated we could come right over (we were staying at the Park Inn) and they would get us seated right away. We walked in and greeted with a smile and seat down right away. This was my first time in a Quaker Steak & Lube, wasn't sure what to except. I was very pleased, there décor was great, and it's a straight up old school race, motorcycle shop feel. The waitresses were very friendly and helpful and the manger stays on top of things to make everything run smoothly. We had one issue but was quickly resolved and well taken care of. There food was excellent no complains. There wings are nice a juicy, but there hot sauce has great flavor vs. all just heat! Love hot sauce like that. If you're in the area I would highly recommend, prices are reasonable and the food is great. They have a race theme with old school pumps, nothing fancy.

Used to be a favorite when they first opened. Food was good, service was at least enthusiastic if not great, and prices were moderate. That was then, this is now. Lately, service has been spotty: I can't recall a single server that's been there on more than one visit, and the turnover shows. It's a 'newb' every time, and pretty much a sure thing on our last 3-4 visits that something will be wrong, forgotten, and/or simply slow. The manager(s) used to come around toward the end of the meal and ask if all was well... Lately they haven't been doing that - probably know they'll get an answer they don't like. They've redone the menu 3-4 times already, with price hike each time, and managing to get rid of the dishes I most liked each time too. Prices are no longer "moderate" but a bit high, especially as the serving sizes have got pretty paltry. Portions have got quite small for the price. I'm no fan of 'supersize me' mongo portions, but when a "buffalo chicken salad" consists of a small handful of shredded lettuce and 4 nugget-sized pieces of chicken it's got ridiculous. Especially when what used to be a satisfying sub-$10 meal is now closing in on $12 and leaving me still hungry...

Recently moved to PA and I've noticed everyone is an expert on where to find the "best wings." I've tried a lot of different place but Quaker Steak is by far the best. The service was good and the environment was welcoming. This location is about a hour away from home but I will be back.

Alright people... Yes, Quaker Steak and Lube serves a variety of food from ribs to burgers; but that is not why you go to Quaker! It is all about the wings! Would you go to an Italian restaurant and order Chinese food? Maybe ... I suppose; but probably not! Yes, Quaker advertises itself as a traditional American restaurant that serves-up all of the American favorites we come to cherish and love, but like I said ... 'It is all about the wings!' Honestly, I feel as if the only reason they have other items on the menu is so they can somehow differentiate themselves from a simple wing place, and diversify the menu in order to draw a bigger crowd and quell the 'veto vote' of the group. You know, the one person who is like "I don't want / I don't like (gasp!!) wings." The fact is this, go to Quaker for the wings, or do not go. Nearly everything else I have had at Quaker varies between 'below average' and 'above average'; but the wings have always been in the 'very good' range. Food: At this point, I have tried all of the wing flavors, with exception of the insanely hot ones because I find zero enjoyability in what my mouth, eyes, sinuses, and throat feel like following consumption. Let alone by butthole later on... All of their wing flavors are good, and each one will definitely appeal to one person more than the other. Personally, the lowest one on the totem-pole for me is the 'Haute-Parmesan', whereas my favorite is the simple 'Medium'. The thing that draws me to their wings is, of course, the flavor. The thing that puts them over the top are the other important categories that most forget about: Crispiness / Texture, and dipping sauce. Quaker has created and executes on a wing that is one of the best all-around wings in the country. Starting with the texture, even the ones slathered in sauce still maintain a nice and crisp outer-texture, while still maintaining a succulent and juicy interior. In terms of the frying process, I am super-sensitive to old oil. Yep, old oil. When wings are fried in oil that has not been filtered or changed in a while, the oil leaves a nasty, bitter aftertaste on everything fried in it. I have never had that issue at Quaker, which means they take pride in their product enough to not stretch a batch of oil nearing expiration. Wings and bleu cheese go together. I won't disparage you ranch fans, but you don't know what you're missing. Mold is delicious! Anyway, their bleu cheese pairs exceptionally well with nearly every single one of their varieties of wing. It is creamy, not too funky, and the perfect consistency to hang onto the wing, but not act like paste. Everything about these wings is done in a way that heightens their quality. I have never had an issue with these wings, and you will constantly get 4 to 5 star quality wings, each time you go. Food Score (Wings + Bleu ONLY): 5 / 5 Service: This varies from server to server, and because Quaker is similar to a Chilis, or Hooters in terms of service quality, they will be rated as such. My servers regularly range from 2 stars to 4 stars, but I have never had a God-awful experience. I have had a bad one, but typically it is a server who is working several tables, trying to turn and burn them as fast as possible, while tend to their beer, wings, and towelette needs. Quaker typically delivers an experience I expect from a place like this. Service: 3 / 5 Atmosphere: I am not a big fan of the biker-bar / truck road-stop / divey atmosphere. It isn't because it doesn't 'work', it is because they typically live up to those standards too well. What do I mean? I find Quaker to typically be on the dirtier side. I also have found that it has a little bit of a smell-issue too. This is typical of restaurants with carpets throughout the restaurant. All of this is a bit of a turn off for me; but if I want wings, this is where I come. Atmosphere: 2 / 5 Price: For the quality of wings that I get, I am always very satisfied. They also have some pretty decent wing specials from time-to-time, and you can score a ton of wings for a cheap price, which makes the value even better. On a regular day though, I am fully satisfied with the price that I pay. Price: 4 / 5 Final Thoughts: As I mentioned in my intro, if your coming to Quaker for anything but wings, you are mistaken. Although some of their other fare is decent, their flagship product is some of the best wings around. Please do NOT make a comparison between them and Buffalo Wild Wings. Yes, they both serve wings. Yes, they both have some unique sauces. But Buffalo Wild Wings is NOT good. Definitely a tier below Quaker. If you are looking for some consistently great wings, this is your place. As with all of my reviews, I reserve the right to round up or down; because Quaker serves up some of the best wings you'll find, it gets the nod up to a 4.
(4)Brandon D.
How this place has succeeded and become a chain is beyond me. The food is about on par with Denny's, but more expensive and with smaller portions and less options. Service wasn't great either and an overdone steak at the table sat until everyone else was done because the waitress didn't check back. The NASCAR stuff everywhere is great for those into it, especially the stock cars, but it is obvious that little money sent into anything else. I won't be back.

To the best of my recollection, the first QSL I visited was pre-Yelp! Lunch on 12/28/13. The food was GOOD. Watch out Buffalo WW. We started with 10 wings as an appetizer - very good. This was followed by the O Ring cheese steak sandwich. Also very good. My friend had the all American burger - he liked it. Service was pretty good for how packed they were. I docked them one star for running out of Blue Moon on draught - on a Saturday no less :)
(4)Jordan K.
Horrible! Waited over an hour to be seated. Once seated I waited 45 minutes for my food. The quality of food was below average and bland. Not happy.
