What a difference a few weeks makes. We loved the wings on our first visit, but on our return they were different--dry with no sauce. My husband liked the steak Diane I ordered the last time, so he ordered it this time. He gave me a taste and I was shocked to taste a sweet, Marsala-type sauce--once again, entirely different and unpleasant, I might add. I ordered Chicken Oscar. The "hollandaise" was clumpy and coagulated and tasted more like a butter sauce than a hollandaise. I doubt we'll be back after this bad experience and it's a shame. Did they change cooks? I did enjoy the mango mojito though.

About what you would expect from a golf course restaurant.....very wide array of menu choices....sat outside on the patio.....very nice, just a bit tight and way too noisy (mainly from overzealous jerks craving female attention) I had the taco salad, and it was better than I thought for only $8.99.....Drinks are reasonable ($4 for a Mint Mojito) TALL glass

We used to like this place when we first started coming three years ago. Unfortunately, they've really gone downhill. Food quality is poor. They've tried to make the food more "upscale" by offering items like crab cakes, seafood lasagna, etc. But these upscale items are overpriced and small portions. The last time we went, we were seated next to a table that had six VERY drunk people loudly using profanity and making extremely obscene gestures...and we had our kids with us. Now, we are certainly not prudes, but this one woman in particular was so over the top, management had to escort her out. Not that it mattered, the original item my husband ordered was not available and the steak he ordered to replace it was thin, poor quality, and WAY overdone. The bar is always very crowded when we go, so that's probably pretty decent. Just don't bother going for frozen, precooked food.

Kept seeing ads for this and finally went to try it out. Wish I hadnt. The place was swarming with flies, the food was horrible and so was the service.

My husband and I went here for our date night Anniversary dinner. HORRIBLE! The seafood lasagna came with leftover plastic wrap around the edges - a dead give away that the bowl had been pre-cooked, pre-portioned and reheated once ordered. The menu claimed it included shrimp, scallops and crab. The lasagna had been so over microwaved, that my fork could not even cut through the noodles. The mini shrimp were super hard and over cooked, again both due to being microwaved way too long. There were also NO scallops. Of the 4" x 3" square served, half of it was inedible due to excessive microwaving. My dear husband ordered the rib bucket, which again had been precooked, and microwaved to order. Totally dried out, with no juiciness in the ribs. Save your money, even at half off - definitely not worth it. What a total shame!

Going here was my idea this evening, which I've regretted since we sat down. My boyfriend had to go remind our server that our drinks needed refilled. Our less than stellar food took 25 minutes, and now that we're home I'm nauseated. Fabulous.

This is a restaurant for us normal people as well as those of you that like a pint and a bite to eat after chasing a little white ball around a nicely manicured lawn while wearing cute little sun visors and shoes with thumb tacks on the bottom. Just kidding. It's a great local eatery. Food is what you'd expect from a golf course restaurant atmosphere. Family friendly, lots of after golf noshers, good selection of cold beers, and decent prices. They have daily specials for things like shrimp, clams, steaks, and wings. The wings are worth a trip. You even get to order them by a bucket that has a gopher on it (remember the movie . . . Caddy Shack . . . are you old enough to remember?). The bucket is great for use around the house when the wings are long gone. In the summer they have $1 burgers on Sundays. That's reason enough to sneak out of church early. Their best food is their "pub" food: the nachos, the wings, the beer, the artery clogging shack fries, the wings, the wings, the wings (did I mention the wings?), the burgers, the wings. All of the wing sauces are worth a try - they're all good, it just comes down to personal preference. Word of warning, you should mention that you want your wings to be well sauced. Sometimes they are served with too little and you spend your time trying to cover them before you eat them. The kid menu is great - everything except the ribs is $3.50 when I last checked and that included a drink. They have a big list of specials. People say the desserts are good, but I've never had room after food and beer.

Returning customer of many years. Called this past Friday night (June 5th) for call ahead seating and had the MOST unpleasant "girl" (although she sounded in her 30s, her behavior was that of an adolescent girl) named Heather on the phone. She was extremely rude and at one point turned to a co-worker during the phone call to mumble "oh my god" because I was taking up her seemingly valuable time with a simple question about how busy they were. Having grown up in Mechanicsburg, caddy shack was always a go-to for a good time and decent food, but after that pathetic display of customer service I will not be back. Twenty year loyal customer down the drain. ...Oh and Heather, find a new line of work, sweetheart. Quite frankly, you're not cut out for any job that requires human interaction. And I have a feeling it's not the first time you've heard that.

My family and I ate here for dinner tonight and my husband and I ordered the wings- which we've had in the past and were very good. Tonight they were undercooked (slimy) with barely enough sauce on them to coat them. We saw a table nearby that had wings that looked completely different (crispy, with lots of sauce!). We do not usually like to complain about anything, but we did mention it to the server at the end of the meal. Nothing was done to rectify the situation, not even an apology from the manager. We were very disappointed tonight and will not be rushing back.

This is a great local restaurant! The food is not gourmet but it's always consistently good and you can't beat the prices. The wait staff is always super friendly and they can handle big groups with separate checks without a problem. The 'shack fries', wings, burgers (even the veggie burger), nachos are all awesome!. Stop in and check out the Caddy Shack, you won't be disappointed!

2.5 Stars. This is another one of those restaurants that is a better bar then a place to eat. However, the service, even at the bar, can be horrible. This is at the Armitage Golf Course, upstairs. It tends to get crowded on the weekends. I'm not sure why but it is what it is. The food is standard fare. Nothing special. Cant think of anything really bad, but nothing stands out as really good for sure. Over the last few years Nick has jacked up the prices and the changed the menu. I wish I could say it made it better, but nada. I like this place to grab a couple of beers. That's about it. Far from inexpensive(for bar food) as some other reviewers claim???? And oh yeah, they close down during the winter months so check before you go. Or you could just go somewhere better........

Decent little restaurant that is located on the top floor of the lodge at the Golf Course. We had a coupon from the local entertainment guide, decided to try it. They have daily specials available each day, at decent prices. Some of the other patrons were golfers who had just finished their games. Tried the prime rib sandwich (6.50) with chips and a pickle.

I have seen coupons for this restaurant for years, but never tried it until today. It is by a golf course. The host was friendly and took my name to be on a waiting list to be seated. I picked a busy night Friday to try and get in. If any of you visit this place on a weekend call and make a reservation. I will do that next time. Friday is the prime rib special for about 10 dollars. It tasted good. It can get loud in the place, because you have so many people in one space. I don't think that everyone was trying to be real loud, it was just really busy, so you can hear everyone talking. I liked how the workers showed good team work, by helping each other with cleaning tables, and helping bring the dishes to the table, when the other waiters and waitresses got busy. None of the workers gave me an attitude and were polite. I wish that I hadn't of worn shorts because the outside deck got a little breezy and cold. The wait to eat inside was a much longer wait though. I liked the lights on the deck by the big tent.

Swore I reviewed this already....My wife and I swung in to grab a quick lunch while passing through to get to a doctors appointment down the road. Since it was the middle of the day there was no one around and most of the people we did see were walking away from the restaurant to go golfing. The menu sounded good but since we were limited by time, we both chose wraps. It took about 10 minutes, give or take to get the food. Probably her onion rings are what took so long since they were the only thing cooked. I ordered the Pork BBQ wrap and it was alright, I would have liked a little more sauce to combat the dryness of the meat, but at least the flavor was good. She ordered the Chicken Caesar wrap and enjoyed it without complaint. The server was friendly and prompt so no complaints there. We'll need to come back when we have more time to actually take our time with some of the bigger entrees.

I really wish I could give LESS than 1 star. I was just at a Christmas Party at this place. Normally, my work Christmas party is here and it is hit and miss, well tonight wasn't even a miss. The menu began with a cheese and veggie tray, meatballs and chicken wings (1 hot 1 mild). The cheese/veggie tray was not restocked, so it was veg tray (no plural). The meatballs were plentiful IF you want little rubber balls that were oonce frozen then over cooked and put in canned or commercial gravy. The wings were over done and the sauces were a disgrace. Hot sauce was watered down Franks Hot sauce and the mild sauce tasted like ketchup and some odd BBQ sauce. Now onto the dinner: Dinner rolls that were the consistency of small concrete footballs (which probably would have been better if they were concrete!), salad, and dressing which was HO HUM that you can buy in ANY super market, carrots and broccoli which was not cooked well, they were completely raw, the red potatoes were done correctly, but under seasoned. There was a lasagna, they I wasn't remotely interested in (looked like cardboard with ketchup on them) and a lot were left on the tables around me. Prime Rib and Pork Tenderloin ended the entry line up. Let me first point out, I did not have the pork, it looked over cooked and I wasn't interested. The prime rib looked much better than it tasted. It was VERY tough, and pretty much inedible. No flavor and not able to cut it with the knives provided. The deserts were pies and cakes were standard frozen that were bought at any restaurant supply house. The service staff ranged from average to overly aggressive when clearing tables. Not a big deal with an open BAr, but not nice when you are buying drinks. If you have ever considered McDonald's fine dining with expert trained chefs; then this place deserves 3 Michelin Stars, but if you are an average diner, you will not like it and you should avoid this place at all costs/

Glad to see the Shack open again, but was very disappointed to see the "Mug Club" going from $10 to $25(with a t-shirt). I don't want their t-shirt, I have 3 at home. Come in Nick, don't ruin a good thing. I like going over there for lunch about once or twice every two weeks, but without the mug club at a reasonable price, forget it.

The Shack is well past her prime. The food continues to decline as does the service. We were seated immediately but our very average meals took a long time to arrive.
