Been here twice this month...well worth the half-hour drive. Excellent food and great service. Recommend the cajun burger, the reuben, and the best cheesesteak in NE Pennsylvania. Really cute waitress with awesome personality.

We've been going there for 7 years, after every rafting trip. This place has great burgers a wonderful family vibe. It's small, right on the main strip and is always nice to our roudy group. Despite their recent change in ownership, the food is still the same with a few new additions.

Classic family restaurant. I visited Port Jervis memorial day weekend 2014 and stopped here after crossing the bridge into Pennsylvania. Always wanted to try a Stewarts since there are none in NYC. Had the chili dog lunch special and their famous root beer. Delicious. Service was very friendly also.

Excellent customer service! Burger & omlette were great. 4 stars only because it was small which increased noise level.

Usually this would be a three. Decent food decent price decent waitstaff. Not excellent or remarkable but decent.Tonight was different. We came in to a man complaining his friend didn't get his tea until after his meal was served. Let me tell you that I believe him. The waitress had no idea what he was talking about. She was clueless. We sat for a good ten minutes after being told to pick any seat. No menus no drinks not even a hiedy ho I'll be with you in a minute. We finally left and went elsewhere. Like I said usually good everything but new owners need to get a handle on this situation. Sold last fall and now is called for Stewies or similar.

1st time eating at a Stewarts and glad we stopped by. I dont remember our waitress's name but she was so nice! She was so sweet and have me a sample of the birch beer. I knew I had to have a birch beer float! Great service & very clean! The cheeseburger was delicious and hit the spot! My bf had the 209 burger and hot dog! He liked their sauerkraut a lot. The chips that came with the hot dog were very good too. May have been freshly made. Fries were very crispy just how I like it! If we didn't live 2 hrs away, would definitely come here again!

First time ordering from this place. I have heard good things and was disappointed with the customer service i recieved. The man who took my order was rude and told me i should not get my food delivered and seemed to not want my business. When i ordered my food and continued with the delivery proccess he had something negative to say about everything and had a rude tone that did not welcome business at all. I will not make that mistake again, they lost a customer. Extremly disappointed.

I have wanted to stop into Stewart's since moving to the area last year. We stopped in the other night because we saw they had Corned Beef and Cabbage on the sign outside. I thought we were to late to be seated and served since it was 7:40 and they close at 8:00 p.m. but we were welcomed in. The meal was super. The décor inside is very early American style but it was clean and neat. The wait staff will dine together after the last of the diners have been served. It is nice to see people that like to be around each other even when they don't have to.

We happened upon Stewarts after a long day on the Delaware river. Myself and two boys enjoyed thick handmade burgers, perogies, and all those around us came for the special meatloaf. The family run place is truly family run. The brother is the cook and I found the now-elderly mom and daughter planting flowers out front. If you want home cooking and a great price, you can't beat this place for a great meal. The decor is like stepping into a family restaurant in 1970, but you'll get past that once you get your hand written menu :)

If your looking for diner food Stewarts isn't the place. If your looking for home cooking, then come on in and enjoy! On occation you might wait a little bit longer then a fast food joint, but good food isn't fast. Great breakfasts! good burgers, and the dinner food is almost like home cooked at grandma's house.

A cutesy local place to get breakfast or lunch. I've personally had terrible luck picking dishes, until I started having the housemade soups. Keep your order simple with the typical diner fare and you'll be all set. And get a root beer.

The rudest hostess I have ever encountered. Not a great staff either. I would recommend anywhere else to go with your family.

It took over 45 minutes to bring chicken wings. It was 5pm and the restaurant was not even crowded. Two other couples placed their orders after us and almost finished their food when our order arrived. The quality is average.

This place is great for families and people looking for comfort food. I came here in the late afternoon during the week with my family. We were seated right away and the waitress was very attentive and friendly. I ordered a hot dog with cheese and onions and a side of sweet potato fries. I have to say - these were very good. The hot dog was tasty and the sweet potato fries were perfectly cut and cooked. I had a bottle of birch beer with my meal, but I was a little disappointed that they didn't carry creamy red. My sister had the BLT, which she thoroughly enjoyed. The rest of my family also were happy with their chili dog selections. For dessert, I had the chocolate lava cake. I was thinking that it was going to be an actual lava cake, but it's not. I think the name is a little deceiving. It's essentially just a heated up piece of chocolate cake. It's very good though. I recommend coming here for a tasty lunch or dinner.

The 4th star is for nostalgia. I remember Stewarts from childhood. I could stop in after a bike ride with friends and get quality inexpensive drinks and ice cream. Stewarts in upstate NY is a friendly family run chain of gas station/ soda fountain shops. But this Stewarts in Matamoras is actually a diner. We sat down and were treated to the whole history of the Stewarts family right on the front of the menu. There was a display with the familiar Stewarts bottled sodas in their many flavors. We were there for breakfast but the menu had all 3 main meals. I had eggs and corned beef hash and my paddling princess had a egg white omelet with peppers and tomatoes. The food was nothing to exit the highway for but if your staying in Matamoras, it's a must. It was full of locals saying hi to other locals, some of whom would get up to get their own silverware only to be headed off by a super sweet waitress asking "what do you need honey"? The big draw back is a bathroom that is in desperate need of a heavy cleaning, or just remodeling. Horrible. All in all it's average food, friendly waitresses and a heaping helping of old fashion appalachian ambiance. Fun!
