Have been here couple of times and all for lunch. Restaurant is big and spacious with fine ambiance. They have lunch menu which includes (soup+entree+appetizer) Lemon grass soup is good, green and red curries are okay. CONS: Quantities could be little more. Service is very poor. You need to wait long time to get seated. Only one person to take care of all the tables and he the most frustrated guy taking care of all the things. He even shows the frustration on the customers by not being polite to them. Quality of food and service has improve. "Okay Thai restaurant. Try and decide for yourself"

Eh. Meh. A. A. (Absolutely Average). For the Price? ($8.95 - $12 with tax 'n tip no beverage) The Lunch special is fine. I got the Chicken coconut Soup (Good but i have had better - and I have had worse), Dumplings which alas, came out deep fried - will NEVER do that again - next time I will get the boring iceberg salad. Entree choices are standard - I got Masaman Curry and again, I have had better and worse. This one was sweeter than some with a good deal of curry paste and a slew of carrots as filler. 5 tiny chunks of soft tofu. Sauces all tasted bottled. Like "cafeteria Thai". Disappointing. Would not rush back here. There are so few Thai places around that I will try them all until i find a decent one. I bet they just don't exist.

Monday lunch rush and there was only one guy working all parts of the front of the restaurant and he did an amazing job. He brought people to their table, took their orders, brought their drinks/food, brought people their bill and did the check out. He needs a raise and they need to hire another person. They have a pretty good selection for their lunch menu and at a good price as well. I had the beef Thai Basil - "beef sauteed with pepper, garlic, onion and fresh thai basil" you could also get chicken instead of beef. Although this came out looking really pretty and smelling great, it was way too salty. The green beans were also too hard. For dessert, I had the Fried Banana. I haven't had this in a long time so I was very excited but then disappointed. The vanilla custard sauce was good but the banana or batter left a bad after taste. I don't know how many egg rolls you'd get if you just ordered it from the appetizer menu but if you do the lunch special with appetizer, soup and entree, you only get one egg roll.

The Satay was amazing; the Pad Thai was slightly bland, but the service was 100% perfect. I would give it another try just because the Thai iced coffee was on point.

This is a great lunch spot. They have a special combo deal that includes an entree, appetizer, and soup. Portions are a little smaller than what you'd get if you ordered everything separately, but that's to be expected, and you won't go hungry. The food is pretty good! The drunken noodles and curry are the most notable. Service is friendly and average paced. It's an overall solid choice for Thai in the area.

First thing I want yo mention is that they have a lot of vegetarian options...ready to customize it for you according to your needs..Budhha's dumplings is good and cant be missed. I liked the food and would prefer to dine vs takeout the next time.

I wish I could give this 3 1/2 stars. It's an average place with above-average service. We were seated and given beverages very quickly. The waiter was attentive and took our order in a very timely manner. I'm a big fan of BYOs, so that didn't faze me, and the decor inside is much nicer than you'd think from the outside. While the food wasn't the best Thai I've ever had, it wasn't bad. Their lunch special for $8.95 is outstanding. The lemongrass soup was delicious, and the green curry wasn't bad (it wasn't very spicy, unfortunately). It'd be nice if you could choose from shrimp, chicken, or a seafood mix, but the chicken pieces were tender and flavorful. We were the first there for lunch, but it got packed a bit after noon, so be prepared.

This Thai restaurant is run by a family of Thai and Laotian descent so it is authentic. It is also quite beautifully decorated in high style Thai decor. Anyone acquainted with Jim Thompson art will recognize the wall art. The food is excellent. I had chu chu duck and my friend had the chambord sauced duck-both were not only well prepared but artistically presented with hand carved vegetables that were perectly cooked.. Another ordered the crying tiger salad which was passed around the table for everyone to enjoy. Unfortunately fresh mango was not available for the mango and sticky rice dessert that i learned to love in bangkok but we had the delicious homemade mango ice cream in a chocolate cup surrounded by an array of rainbow sauces that elicted a wow from everyone at the table when it was served.Three of us had traveled to Thailand so we are well acquainted with the cuisine. Sadly the family is not too skilled at marketing themselves. When I tried to make a reservation I encountered a busy signal all day. Someone had left the phone off the hook! Needless to say we persisted in going but I wonder how many potential customers they lost that night.

It has been a while since we have been here, I believe it was Oct 2012. Perhaps the experience was so forgettable I forgot to write the review. My boyfriend received a much appreciated gift cert for Royal Thai. We went for dinner. First impression when we walked in was....Oh no, this isn't going to be good" We were the only 2 people in the restaurant. (later a table of 4 came in toting their own bottles of wine....it is a byob). I don't recall any other customers. Service was very prompt, courteous The meal was ok. Like i said it's been a few months since I've been there so nothing really stands out as a great experience.

I think this place used to be better, but I got take out of Chicken red curry and Drunken Noodles. It was not that good and the Red Curry was very bland. The Drunken Noodles were greasy and we threw half of it out. The interior is nice, but I do not think we would go back. Priced right is about all I can say ($11-$12 for each meal).

Awesome Lunch Deals! We frequent this great place for lunch regularly! It's the best deal in town! Just go early because if you get there after 12 it gets crowded. The food is always hot and fresh and service is fast. They have a price fix menu at lunch where for like $8 you get soup, appetizer and entree. The entrees change weekly so it gives you a chance to try something new. I hate mushrooms but LOVE their lemongrass soup! For lunch as part of the combo deal it is served with chicken but if you order it by itself at lunch or dinner or take out, they will serve it with shrimp. Personally, I think the chicken version is much better. The chicken absorbs the lemongrass and it's awesome! Favorites of the gang are the beef salad, basil chicken, drunken noodles and thai eggplant. It's BYOB too and they don't rush you to leave.

This Thai restaurant is great. Right off of Business Route 30 in a dingy little strip mall it doesn't look like much, but that's deceiving. The dining area is quite large and the decorations are asian inspired and non intrusive. The food is some of the best Thai food I've had, though as Richard said its not extremely spicy, but its enough. They also have lunch specials which are a good deal and some menu items that aren't on the dinner menu. Drunken noodle is only on the lunch menu, but if you ask for it you can get it at dinner too, this is probably true for all of the lunch items, but I don't know. If you like Thai food, try it out, there's never a wait and the food is great.

Very good Thia food. I'd recommend to anyone at least once. The food isn't super spicy, but flavorful and authentic.

For a Thai restaurant hidden in the white, low-density exurbs of Philly, this place is remarkably good. Sure, everything is more expensive than I'd pay in Berkeley, and the spiciest thing on the menu tastes like maybe 5/10 to me. But if I'm visiting my parents and craving something ethnic, this is a fine choice.

Was empty at diner on Tuesday at first. Then had 3 table join. Food was good and flavorful. Thought my shrimp was tough. Server was not gracias. Seemed to just be here to take order. I had to ask about desert and he just gave me a menu. Guess this is not their thing.

I decided to eat here based on previous reviews stating Best Pad Thai in the area. I'd hate to eat at other restaurant Pad Thai if this is the best! Being so close to NY thought it would be awesome. If you all want good Pad Thai go South. It'll knock socks off. This had no heat, no peanut flavor, no salt, no sweet. Oh maybe just BLAND is a better word. I would not recommend nor go back! And there were different size noodles. Some spaghetti like some egg and some rice. NEVER had a variety of noodle like this before. Well if some like it then the place can stay in business but if you are use to good Pad Thai like Wasabi in Cary, NC this in not for you!

Wow. I've had mediocre Thai. I've had good Thai. This is excellent Thai. I went here as part of a group of 20 for dinner. Service was excellent and quick, food was amazing up and down the table with not a single complaint. My drunken noodles were delicious, delicious, and spicy. Just warm enough that you felt the burn, not overpowering any aspect of the complex flavors in the dish. The coconut soup was excellent, vegetable spring rolls outstanding, and the dessert is something one usually sees in a much more expensive, Center City style of place. Not only the food was delicious, but it was also apparent that it was made with an eye for detail and presentation. I will gladly drive the hour from my home to come here again. It's worth the traffic.

Perhaps I'm not an educated Thai cuisine consumer, but I enjoyed this quick lunch, in very dignified, well appointed dining room. The lunch special menu gives you three choices for soup, three for appetizer, and about five for an entree. I chose lemon grass soup, a Thai wonton that looked like a puff pastry, and a massuman curry. I enjoyed all of them, and left with just the right amount of food in my tummy. I will be back to try more, especially at the reasonable fixed price of $8.75 (abou $9.50 with tax) for the trio.

I went to Royal Thai Orchid for a Monday night dinner with my husband. We split the crunch rolls, dumplings, massaman curry, the shrimp dish with sticky rice, and mango sticky rice for dessert. The meal we had was acceptable, but with a small amount of effort it could have been excellent.

I came here for lunch last week, and I was severely disappointed. I started out with the lemon grass soup. The soup was salty; the balance between the sourness and spiciness of tom yum was off and was replaced with a great amount of salt instead. One pro, though, is the decent amount of chicken and mushrooms in the soup. Next, I had the crispy roll, and that was my favorite of the meal. The wrapper was crispy and flaky, the sauce had just the right amount of sweetness. The only saving grace from my meal. Lastly, the Mussaman curry I had was flavorless. It seemed watered down. The sweetness from the coconut milk did not shine through at all. I didn't finish my entree, and left a bit hungry still.

Royal Thai is the place I had my first taste of thai food ever which is probably why I think that their pad thai is the best I've ever had. That's not to its discredit though because the food here really is delicious. Everything I've had has been satisfying. Their peanut dressing is really good (although a bit heavy) and their thai iced teas are sooooooooooooo noms. The place is really no frills and it has looked exactly the same since I first went there about 6 years ago. But what do I care? I'm there to stuff my face with delicious thai food! Their lunch time deal is pretty solid and there are usually a lot of people there then. Dinner can be pretty crowded too. It seems like whenever I go though it's either crowded or almost empty. But that's whatever because I know I'll get a great meal when I go to royal thai. They also have take out which is a definite plus.

Stopped in last night and was not overwhelmed with the meal. The meal was promptly delivered and was well presented but the flavors I expect from Thai food were surprisingly missing. The service was prompt and courteous but the dining area was a little on the chilly side and though nicely decorated, was a little dark. Price wise it falls in the range I expect for this type of restaurant.

I feel like they are understaffed for lunch. We showed up before the lunch crowd but still had a bit of a wait for food. The food itself wasn't terrible, but we'd had better. Lunch portions are smaller than dinner portions understandably but a few people who ordered curry or similar dishes were given such little rice that they had an excess of curry with nothing to put it on. My pineapple fried rice was fine, nothing spectacular.
