My wife and I went with some friends here last Saturday to check out their dinner menu. We eat often at Bonu Express down the street and always love it. There sandwiches are unique and dellicious. This place is just as great. I had the Lamb shank and it was awesome, my wife enjoyed the tortellini and scallops. Our friends enjoyed their meals, the filet mignon and tornados with spinach. For dessert we shared the carrot cake and a sampler of kolaches - a must as their great. This is a BYOB so we were able to bring our favorite wines of choice. We will definitely return as the staff was friendly, knowledgeable and the food was outstanding. On the weekends they also have a solo guitar playing live in the restaurant. It was a pleasant music selection and not too loud.

I'd say ZERO but that's not an option. I was hungry, Jimmys BBQ was crazy busy so I figured - let's try this place which is located in the same strip mall. Ordered a chicken Caesar salad, dressing on the side and a water. After waiting easily 30-35 minutes I asked - where's my food? Waiters response - See this order here? Pointing to a large order staged on a counter. This orders to go. In other words, your measly order will come when this big order is done. Are you F$&@ing kidding me? I walked out. Will NEVER return.

Bonu is a favorite of ours, especially for their kolaches. I enjoyed the delicious lamb shank with grilled asparagus while my wife loved her cheese quesadilla. The service was friendly and prompt, although on an August Sunday night there were only two tables filled. They've redone their menu and only offer fruit kolaches for dinner as a dessert. However, our granddaughter (6) wanted the breakfast versions. Since it was a slow night, the kitchen complied and made a little girl very happy. Another great experience at Bonu-great food, reasonable prices and a wonderful atmosphere. Give it a try.

New menu= Higher prices. We enjoyed dinner, Onion soup was yummy. Pasta with clams needed garlic and to be a little warmer. Service was ok, checked on us a few times. Will come back.

Bought a $10 voucher, and thot a saturday evening would be a good time to use it. The ambience was okay, a lot smaller than I expected. They had a live singer/musician who was doing a good job, but thats where the 'good' stuff ends. The staff is clueless. They were polite but didnt really answer the questions I asked. Almost like talking to siri (sounds alive but says whatever she wants to, no relation to the question). Now .... the food. I couldve dug up some roots in my yard, popped them in the microwave, garnished them and they would've tasted better. As if its bad enough that they have very very limited meatless options, the ones we did order ended up being a total dud. Oh and the food is ridiculously OVERPRICED. Im not one to question the premium on prepared and served food in a good restaurant, but I've paid far less for far better food. even with the voucher, I ended up shelling out $60 for 3 people, and none of us went home happy with our meal. I can't speak for the meat options here, but given the prices, even if I did eat meat, I'd stay away from here. The quality of food does not justify the price and lack of good service. To Bonu Management - If you're gonna rip people off, atleast be classy about it

I came here today to pick up lunch to go. This is my second visit to Bonu. My first visit is with my team for a team lunch. I have to say that this place is a hidden gem. Customer service is great and everyone there is super friendly. I had their lunch special which was delicious and of great value. I also decided to try their kolaches for the first time, and they are so good. I will definitely return. Give it a try, and you will not disappoint.

You never know where you'll find a new food, I was pleasantly surprised in Malvern to have Koobideh for the first time at Bonu. This Persian spice marinated lamb was a succulent filler for the wrap, which I expected would be in a pita but was actually in a tortilla, which was a nice twist. The Menu is very diverse, Greek, Mex, Czech, Persian...

We went there on a spur of the moment choice and were pleasantly surprised. First, it's a byo which is great. Second, the food is delicious. They have a bit of an identity crisis because it's Italian and Mediterranean based, but everyone really liked their food. For dessert we had the colaches which are a Persian danish if you will. They are so worth saving room for. It's definitely one of the best choices in Frazier.

I ate breakfast here for the first time today. I ordered what I usually have when eating out and to compare with other breakfast places. The order included eggs over medium, bacon crispy and home fries well done whole wheat toast. The food was served with some fruit cuttings and a sprig of something. It looked very nice. My only knocks would be that the eggs were done over heavy (medium should have some yolk run) and the potatos had the skin still on them (not my personal preference). The home fries were Ok and came with fried in onions and peppers, which I like ...so be advised. I also ordered whole wheat bread which was really good ...like home made with lots of grains. The service was ok, if a bit leasurly. All in all, the food was really good and the atmosphere was nice also. The place was quiet. I will definitely go back and try something more adventuresome ...like dinner.

Sunday - 1/6/2013 - 4 PM Bonu is moderately sized, well appointed and immaculate. I ordered the Tropical Salad (An oversized dish of grilled chicken breast with strawberries, cantaloupe, oranges, red grapes, with a side of raspberry vinaigrette, and served over romaine lettuce for $8.95). The server was attentive as was the owner. I had plans to visit the nearby Planet Fitness after the "light lunch" but, the dish was so good and refreshing, I could not stop eating. Bonu Café is located in the Westgate Plaza Shopping center (Staples is on the premises). The menu is comprehensive. Although I wasn't full I decided against visiting the gym - why tempt fate? I will return!

Imaginative menu and broad selection. Lamb giro --- meat was fresh and very tender. Breakfast pizza was awesome, full of eggs, potatoes, onions, peppers, cheese (they forgot the bacon) --- would be a big hit with any teenager or college student. Service attentive and friendly but our waitress was nervously new and misheard 2 parts of our order --- but the owner made it up to us. Tried the fruit kolaches, good but after the breakfast pizza, it seemed a similar dough. Will definitely go back. But I can't see sitting outside on the sidewalk looking at the Staples parking lot.

4.5 Stars! I'm so stoked to find someplace new in the Malvern/Frazier area. The menu is huge. They serve breakfast all day. My bf had the corned beef hash that he said he liked. I ordered the "signature" salad. It was huge, extremely fresh and delicious. It had fresh strawberries, goat cheese, dates, walnuts over spring mix and romaine. A must try are the Kolaches. Service was very friendly and competent. The only thing I would change are the napkin dispensers on the tables. The quality of the food is too good for the diner-esque napkin presentation. We will definitely be back.

I'm a big Bonu fan. I've tried plenty of the large menu and so far, I'd order everything again (and have!). I'm not as big a fan of the breakfast Kolaches as my GF is, but I do really enjoy the fruit ones. The staff is friendly and efficient.

Decided to try this place out since Classic was mobbed. I had an omelet with assorted fillings. It was a very generous portion, and the wheat toast is delicious. The staff is very welcoming, attentive, and nice. I am a fan of hot sauces on my breakfast, and the waitress made me aware that they have their own hot sauces they make in house. The habanero sauce is delicious, and flavorful, not too hot whatsoever. I will definitely be going here again.

This place is amazing! I use to be a loyal Classic Diner customer but this place has better food and amazing prices. The atmosphere is also much more comfortable than Classic Diner. Service is great. I've been there about 3 times and each time was better than the last. I highly recommed it.

This place is tucked away in the corner of the strip mall which has staples, Jimmy's BBQ and Cedars and Royal Thai, which is a shame as they have a vast interesting menu with friendly service. I tried the Kolaches, a Czech / Slovak pastry which is like a flaky version of a soft pretzel, stuffed with eggs and cheese. You can even get them stuffed with figs or other stuffings. For lunch I ordered a salad with Goat Cheese, Strawberries, Dates, Walnuts and Pomegranate vinaigrette which was not only delicious but so big I also had it for dinner. They have a catering business so the menu is quite expansive and seems to offer American, Czech and Middle Eastern specialities. Will be back to try more of the menu.

Don't believe the hype. The food is okay. Nothing amazing or ground - breaking. The coffee was bad, but I will agree the service is great. We went for bfast on a Saturday morning and at 9am, we were literally the only customers in the restaurant the entire time we were there. Pancakes were fluffy, albeit a little over-cooked. My eggs (ordered over hard) were runny and the bacon was that sad skinny kind of bacon that you find at cheap buffets and catered breakfasts. Guess I shouldn't be surprised by the bacon since they are a catering company as well. I do recommend the breakfast potatoes, but ask them to make them a bit crispier. We chose this place because it had 4.5 stars on here. Seriously? 4.5 stars? I double checked, we're talking about the same restaurant.

Well, since I tried them in a catered office lunch, I joined a group from work to have lunch in the restaurant. No question in my mind now... this place is for real! One Lamb Koobideh Pita sandwich later, and I'm convinced. Well, that and witnessing the size of the sandwiches that were served to our group including mine. This place does not skimp even a little bit on portions. Everyone in our group was more than pleased with their meals, and many leftovers were taken home and devoured again later. Judging by the crowd they had on a Thursday lunch hour, this place ought to be rolling in the dough for quite a while.

A hidden gem, the food is delicious, the price is perfect. We ordered a Hummus & Roasted Red Peppers Combo and Lamb Gyro, they were perfect. I usually go to Cedars Cafe but honestly I think this place is just as good.

Ate with a friend for the first time today. Our sandwich was DELICIOUS. We both ordered the eggplant/sundried tomatos/goat cheese. Asked for it on a wrap (not the multigrain roll that is was supposed to come with). FABULOUS!!! My friend thought the same thing. House salad vinagarette really really yummy. Worst part...waitress could not give us the recipe for that :) Waitress very friendly as well. Will be going back!

Few restaurants in Malvern/Frazer and the Main Line impress me as much as Bonu Cafe. The delicious food, the amazing staff and the modest prices keep me and my family coming back again and again. The portions are plentiful and the food is so well prepared. Sam, the owner, continually goes above and beyond for his customers! My go-to favorite are their kolaches. You can't go wrong and they're so easy to heat up the next day. Check it out--you won't be disappointed!!!
