Went Thursday night and sat outside with live music which was very good. Food was great! The tuna app was prepared perfectly. The swordfish special was a delicious combination. Loved the French onion soup. The Amish chicken was amazing. Save room for dessert, the chocolate cake is worth it! Had dinner again on Friday but not as good for some reason. Maybe a different chef because there were several weddings going on at the hotel.

Greatest steak and greatest bartenders. The friendliest staff and the best food. Don't question it, my friends!

Great location but....The Grille is a joke. 17.95 for a plate of spaghetti. Poor service and high prices. Sounds like a recipe for failure. Went there with friends from California and my family. Had to 'remind' the staff to wait on us. Food was cold ad tasteless. We won't be back.

I want to give 4.5 stars, but that isnt an option so I had to give 4. I rarely give 5 stars, but this experience was close. We had a very nice dinner with a lovely view. If you would like a nice scenic drive to a very pleasant resort restaurant, make the drive out there. The restaurant is very aesthetically pleasing. Nice ambience. In the middle of summer you have a lovely view of the gardens and the green grassy ski slopes. There is also outdoor patio seating. I'm sure it is breathtaking in the fall and winter seasons as well. We shared shrimp cocktail and Caesar salad to start. I know you're thinking shrimp cocktail...boring! No it was the best shrimp cocktail ever. Jumbo, plump perfectly cooked shrimp with awesome cocktail sauce. Caesar salad was very good too. I had the rare ahi tuna with ginger and Wasabi with an accompanying pickled cucumber and ginger salad with an Asian dressing. Delicious! My husband had the ridiculously delicious and decadent bacon wrapped meatloaf with the best brown sauce that I have ever tasted. I will post a picture if it. It was amazing! The accompanying whipped mashed potatoes were perfect! I cannot recommend this place more highly. Take a drive! Go!

This is the first time here at the resort for a wedding and it's a nice place. Went to the Grille for their Sunday breakfast buffet which was from 8:30-11:00 am. First off, it's a buffet, of course ppl with choose a buffet over the cafe cuz its the best bang for ur buck. They were understaffed, there was no hostess and we had to find someone to seat us, as well as other ppl coming also had to keep trying to find a hostess. The food wasn't bad if they had any there. There were no potatoes or eggs benedict at the buffet line. Not only that but they didnt have plates. Myself and another lady in line had to find a server, ask for more plates and more food. the plates were stocked and the potatoes were replenished but it took 30 mins to replenish the eggs benedict (i know they're hard to make but it took 30 mins, they shldnt be offered on the buffet line then if it takes so long.) The price was good, $13.75 per person for the breakfast buffet.

Stopped in for a late lunch / early dinner on Sunday. Beautiful place and the service was great. The food on the other hand was terrible. We started off with some wings and french onion soup. The wings were great, no complaints there. The soup was a mess. Zero flavor. Its as if the chef is against using seasoning / salt.... Next is the $13 dollar cheeseburger. It should have some flavor. Mine did not. A cheeseburger cooked medium should be juicy. Mine was not. I have worked in kitchens before, so i understand what goes on. I would have sent the burger back, but the next one would not have been any better. The process and product are flawed for sure. A tip, season the patty, and cook it properly. My wife ordered the french dip sandwich. I believe the aujus served with the sandwich was really just a ramikin of the french onion soup. Fail. Again, poorly seasoned. Fyi, a kids burger is really just a freezer burned patty chargrilled to fossil perfection served with french fries that taste like dirty fryer oil. I saw other plates hit the dining room, and the food looked good. Its possible that the higher priced menu items are delicious. But i cannot see myself spending that extra money when a simple cheeseburger fails so miserably.

Went to The Grille while staying at the hotel at Bear Creek. First off what an awesome 1 night get away of skiing all day, staying in this beautiful hotel, with heated outdoor pool and hot tub, awesome!! The food here was surprisingly very good despite some rather bad reviews. We had house salad, crispy calamari, crab guacamole, fish tacos, bacon wrapped meatloaf, and orange & ginger creme brûlée. Everything was very very good, calamari was crispy and tossed in a sweet and sour asian style sauce. The crab guacamole was awesome, a simple guac with lime and cilantro, and giants lumps of crabmeat on top. Fish tacos were surprisingly awesome, who expect a really good fish taco at a ski resort in pa! But they were really good, this coming from someone who grew up at the beach. Bacon wrapped meatloaf was phenomenal had some kind of onion jam that was just ridiculous when all put together in one bite. Only downfall of the meal was the creme brûlée, crust ontop was perfect but the creme itself was too thick, it wasn't sweet or tart enough, really rather bland. If not for the lousy creme brûlée this place would have been an easy 5 stars.

We went for Lobster Fest this weekend. We made a reservation for 5:45 and they called to confirm we'd be there as scheduled. Our table was not ready when we arrived. Service was on the slower side as it took about 10 minutes for us to place our drink order. They came out with rolls but no bread plates. We had to request the plates as did the other table during next to us. The Calamari was soggy. They put what tasted like duck sauce on the Calamari which was just weird. They also didn't bring out plates for our appetizer until we asked. The salad that came with the meal was sparse; though the house vingarette was good. Our lobster was good but nothing special. We could have prepared it at home and it would have tasted the same. The red whole potatoes they served with it were a bit undercooked but the corn was good. Our toddler had the kid's steak. It was cooked well and was served with mashed potaoes and broccoli. The broccoli was wilted and unappetizing. Overall, we weren't wowed. There are other local places we'd choose before we'd go back. Its too bad because the scenery was great though I am not sure we'd trek up there in the winter.

The atmosphere was beautiful, the view was really pretty, and the service was great. We went when they were making snow and I think it would have been even better with skiers coming down the mountain. I felt that the dinner prices were on the expensive side and my Southern Fried Shrimp with french fries for $23 was just ok. The Warm French Apple Tart was good, but the Florida Key Lime Tart was excellent - so light and refreshing. I would like to go back and try a non-fried entree to make a better decision/rating.

Have been here many times off season and on and the food and service are wonderful. I usually have seafood which is excellent. The menu recently changed and the tuna which was an entree is now a starter. I had the barbecued salmon over mashed potato which I heartily enjoyed. We also had the ravioli and the guacamole appetizer and were very satisfied.

4.5 stars... This was a very nice experience on our vacation to Pennsylvania. This restaurant situated in the Bear Creek Mountain Resort is so beautiful in the evenings, especially during sunset. We went in early spring, when it started to get darker much later. The decor was very much like a lodge, with a few TVs, wood used for tables and the walls, and a big fireplace. The service was very accommodating and helpful in deciding what to order. It was a little pricy, but the portions are considerate. We started off with a caesar salad, which came with the entrees. It was very fresh and tasty. Next, we had ordered the three dip special, which was a hummus dip, a feta dip, and an olive dip, all served with naan bread. Next up were the entrees. The plates came and looked beautiful. I had ordered the wild shrimp pasta, which was very good, but more alfredo style, very creamy. We had also ordered the bacon encrusted meatloaf with mashed potatoes. This was very creative and delicious. Finally, we had ordered the Jambalaya pasta, which was very spicy and rich is flavor. The resort is magnificent and so beautiful. I would assure a pleasant experience anytime of the year, especially during skiing season.

The ideas are good, but the food did not live up. Staff was good and environment was nice. Food was just ok and priced high for the quality. Skip the 'craft' beer and wines and go with the martini, better deal there. Actually stick with the hard stuff. 7.50 for a Manhattan but 18.00 for a fairly common tripel?? I think we'll use this place as a drinking bar..
(2)Rick M.
we live 5 minutes from this place, and finally decided to go there for dinner. the food is great.. artichoke with brie dip is amazing. The manager came over and spoke to us, I told him, this is our first time here and he comped us some dessert. The place is busy, we went during ski season, and the parking is a bit cumbersome. but other than that. I would def. recommend this place

I made reservations a week ahead for a party of 3 at 4pm. We arrived and the restaurant had approx 4 tables seated. The waitress brought us to the back of the restaurant and seated us next to a party of 10. We asked if we could sit by the window and were told those tables were taken. We then requested a booth and instead were taken to a table by the window. (One of the "taken" tables) No one told our server they seated us in her section so she continued to walk by us three times. We finally asked if she could get our server and she said "Im your server, I didnt realize they sat me." The server was sweet and attentive after she "realized' she had a table. (again she walked past us 3 times) The food was delicious. We shared the crab guacamole and I had the crab cake entree and my husband had the ribs. Our daughter had the kids cheeseburger which was just a plain frozen cheeseburger, but she didnt mind. I would go to the Grille again but I am very put off by the lack of professionalism. When we left the restaurant there were at least 5 or 6 tables still open by the window and all of the booths were still not sat.

We live close by (Macungie) and this is a regular dinner option for us. We enjoy sitting at the bar on a quiet evening and enjoying a few beers. Plus, I love that they carry my favorite liquor (St. Germain), which can be somewhat hard to find in restaurants. My favorite dishes are the Blue Ridge Pig Sliders, the French Onion Soup and the American Salad. The specials are always fantastic, so make sure you find out what they are (sometimes at the bar they forget to tell you the specials), because if you are like me, a special will always sound awesome and you change your mind about what you were going to order! My only complaint it that the menu hasn't changed in about 2 years, I would like to see some new options.
(4)Scott L.
Awesome staff and management. The place is run very well. This is the only place I will bring my kids for a day trip, the lodge and facilities are the best around. Highly recommended...
(5)Tim K.
Had dinner with a party of fifteen. Very good selection of beer. I had old dominion oak stout. Service was good, food all came out together, and was warm. I had pork tenderloin and it was tasty, but not tremendously memorable. I gave four stars because I think the servers handled the large group efficiently. Otherwise I give three stars.

The food is OK, standard pub fare, with a little extra. The beers and bar are very nice - we were there recently around the micro-brew can festival (you'd be surprised about how many great beers are in cans!) and they were not only tasty, but also priced very reasonably ($2-$3 each can). Overall the resort does a nice job, clean and well maintained, it is a bit of a wedding factory as every time I've been there, there was one or two going on. Skiing is nothing to write home about, but going up there and hiking or mountain biking in summer & fall is nice and the "Grille" is perfect to have a cold one afterwards.
(3)Bob B.
If this place was in Aspen, Telluride or Tahoe - the lines would be out the door. Coming here for many years, during all seasons, it has never failed to perform. Whether a cold winter afternoon, or a steamy summer day poolside, the cleanliness and attention to detail in every aspect of this establishment is evident. Honestly, the artwork, finishes, lighting, sofas, pillows. landscaping in all common areas are very tasteful and spot-on to the intended ambiance. The poolside lunches are excellent and well priced, with nice views and efficient service. The main dining room is a comfortable delight - year-round. I have never had a bad meal here, but that might just be because the gracious service and atmosphere - combined with with heartwarming indoor and out door fireplaces - made the food somewhat of a second thought.
(5)Smokey F.
I skied there in the 70's when it was Doe Mountain. It has changed a bunch since then. Everything about Bear Creek Resort is great. We had our daughters' wedding there last year and visit every couple of months all year around. All of the staff is just fantastic. I'm a simple guy and like The Trails End Café better than The Grille. Trails End over by the pool is just right for me.
(5)Perri V.
Below is a list of items we ordered. We had a great meal! We will definitely eat here again on our next visit! Brie Artichoke Dip Ribs Amish Chicken Straw and Hay Pasta Meatloaf Cheesecake Apple Tart
(4)J R.
Food is so so. Good for the hungry skier but don't expect anything special. Very hard to find seats during weekend lunch because everyone else who just came along and not skiing is seating there!
(2)Erin F.
The food was very good! the price is steep, but once you take a bite, that all fades away and it becomes worth it! the staff is very nice and the atmosphere is cozy and lovely.

Totally did not expect this................. Ski resort, nice bar, fireplaces, plasma tellies and a spacious restaurant serving great food. How cool is that. 5 of us enjoyed a great dinner. We all shared "a Forty"..........actually a large bottle of Victory Helios. A tasty Belgian style beer. We also all shared a Napa Cab Sav . For apps we shared : Pig Sliders (delicious!)...house-cured pork loin, barbecue sauce, pepper jack cheese, pickles & cole slaw. English Stilton Cheese (goes well with belgians and/or red wine). Warm Brie Dip...artichokes & romano cheese served with tortilla chips & carrot sticks. All were great and fairly priced. For dinner: I enjoyed the St Louis Ribs (we are in Pennsylvania????). Other enjoyed the soy seared tuna...with sticky rice, pickled cucumbers, ginger & wasabi. Again all were fairly priced and delicious. **I did enjoy anothe beer....a Palm. Steenhuffel Belgium has been producing beer since 1597. Think about that for a moment.
(4)Mark S.
I like Bear Creek a lot but the dramatic increase in their prices creates very little value for your money. My wife and I recently spent $89 for a sand which, chicken salad, and brier app with nachos. I had 1 beer and she had an iced tea. Rip off.
(2)TimKim K.
Sunday buffet a diasappointment. Staff were friendly and eager, but food fell short of expectations and price level. Beautiful lodge, good piano guy playing made nice atmosphere. But eggs Benedict were way overcooked. And biscuits were dry like hard tack. Omlette was overcooked too. Only a fool likes overcooked meats and eggs.

As was noted by other reviewers, the food here is amazing for the price. It's on my short list of places to take visitors to the Valley because (a) the food is great; (b) it's scenic; (c) we can all eat and drink very well and not break the bank. I recently took a party of five here - an appetizer for the table, entrees all around, drinks (multiple) for some - all for $152. Not bad at all. The kitchen is clearly run by a chef and not a run-of-the-mill restaurant manager. Menu items are creative, with a Southern flair. (Fish and chips, for example, have a harder "Southern-style" breading rather than the softer stuff I'm used to seeing.) Hit the specials list first - it's almost always worth it. A recent pork loin special was jaw-droppingly good. The restaurant does have an on-site garden, which produces quite a bit of the vegetation and spices used in the dishes. The bar itself is quite nice - beer selection is respectable, and the cocktail menu got the thumbs up from my resident experts. The interior has a nice lodge-y feel to it; if you're looking for cutting edge design, go elsewhere. Please note that I've only been here during the off-season - this place can get a bit crazy when the slopes are open. All in all, a great place for larger parties (reservations, please) and for a casual dinner. Not the place I'd go to impress a date or clients, unless they have more respect for quality eats than atmosphere. For information on the ski resort, see: yelp.com/biz/bear-creek-…
(4)Melissa M.
This place appears to be an up-scale eatery, but the food is awful, and the drinks are strangely priced. They have a small craft beer list that is grossly over-priced. Meanwhile, their martini selection (all sweet) are significantly cheaper than the beers! The steak was mediocre, and fairly pricey ($28 for a NY strip). The baked potato and broccoli rabe that went along with it was bland. The French onion soup was way too sweet, and tasted as if it came from a can. Don't waste your time at this place!!!

Awesome staff and management. The place is run very well. This is the only place I will bring my kids for a day trip, the lodge and facilities are the best around. Highly recommended...
