This reeks of a BWW ripoff, and it may have even been one before. I don't know, I'm not from around here. But the food that I had was exceptionally better than any BWW, there were tons of televisions placed around the perimeter of the restaurant, and not on one or two walls like most BWW locations, and the largest room had STADIUM style seating to the tables leading to the project screens where games are played. I mean, all of that adds up to a good restaurant to watch some football at to me. And the food was damn delicious, too. The seafood nachos were a bit off the beaten path, something like a seafood bisque with shrimp on top of tortilla chips, but it surprisingly worked well with the texture variations and vegetables on top. And their Gouda burger was damn delicious too.

Great good, lots of choices and the atmosphere is excellent! Never disappointed when we go here!

Aroogas has a decent draft beer selection considering the other choices in the Harrisburg PA area. However, the Happy Hour is a joke. Happy Hour is 1/2 off - which on the face of it sounds great. But in the fine print, they serve Happy Hour Draft beer in glasses 1/2 the size of a normal (non Happy Hour ) glass. RU Kidding me - What a joke I was more than happy to pay normal prices to get a normal size glass. It just shows that the Management thinks the Hicks that come in at Happy Hour are dumber than a rock. I will not miss missing this place in the future. I guess that when they have a discount on their Wings - they rip them in half --

Writing this review purely because the happy hour, as Bob C. described, is such a joke. When my fiance and I originally went for the happy hour downtown, we both settled on a few high gravity brews, so we weren't surprised when the glassware was 8 or 10 oz. After going for trivia one evening and receiving a standard IPA in a similar 8-10oz glass, we realized that they actually pour all of their beer in these glasses during "half off half the amount of beer sad hour." That is absolutely atrocious business practice. They should be embarrassed. If you want to enjoy a legitmate half-off happy hour, I would recommend Anthony's, McGrath's, Shady McGrady's, or Brewhouse Grill.

Good meal but was overpowered by the mildew smell in the stadium area, on my way to the bathroom I noticed the smell wasn't bad by the bar area or on the opposite side of the bar from the stadium...

Cannot comment on the food because we didn't stay. Went there New Year's Eve and it wasn't busy, seated immediately. And then we sat for 20 minutes while servers walked back and forth ignoring us. They weren't busy, they did a lot of chatting with customers and each other and not one checked in at our table. We just got up and left and no one seemed concerned. Went to ABC Brewing Company where the service and food were awesome. Thanks Arooga, you saved us from spending New Year's Eve surrounded by annoying tvs and bad service.

This place has a huge and awesome menu, TV's everywhere, awesome seating including dinner-theater-style booth seating along the edge of the main dining room where most of the TV's are. I ordered the PD&J burger with bacon (yes you read that correctly). It sounded absurd which is why I had to order it. After all...when is the last time you saw that on a menu?! Guess what...it was AWESOME! The rest of the food was awesome as well. If you're into sauces, their honey mustard rocks. And the beer is ice cold. As in really ice cold like it should be - all their draft beers are kept at 29 degrees. And the service was awesome. The waitress knew the menu like the back of their hand (and the waitresses are all cute to add icing on the cake). I've heard that this place is absolutely packed during games so make sure you get their early or during an off time like us (Sunday night with no games on).

Tons of TVs, a HUGE menu. There is something for everyone. Since going low carb, I had to avoid the delicious-looking assortment of fried cheesy things. The good news is there were some low carb options available. I had a gigantic chicken salad. The chicken was cooked to perfection and nicely seasoned. Their ranch dressing was a little thick for my taste, but it was better than the wishbone grocery store variety. My philosophy for menus like this? Unless you are the Cheesecake Factory, you can't have a large menu and produce high quality food. Once you understand that, you will realize that Arooga's does pretty well for how many items their cooks have to make.

This place is awesome!!! I love their happy hours which is damn cheap to eat and more on their Wednesdays happy hour for their traditional chicken wings which is just 49cents and their bud light pitchers are 6$, I just love it. Their service is real good too! I always choose this place over one in Camp Hill because of good service and nice ambience. I usually visit this place at least twice a month.

Honestly, I always have great service here and I love the atmosphere, I just never have good food. And I'm not that picky, I always want to love this place but every time I get food it's just never that good. Drinks are good though. Prices good.

Its an OK sports bar. Lots of TVs and decent bartenders, but overall, the place feels like the macdonalds of sports bars. Lacks personality, and tries to be too corporate without the polish. The food is decent, but honestly, its just not as good as you would expect. The wings are the only savior, however, they mess mine up about 25% of the time. I get them the same way, everytime, and from everwhere I get them. Always crispy. Most the time, they are very good, but 25% of the time they are way too cooked. Hard to even chew. I love crispy stuff, but this is way beyond. I've never had this problem at another wing place, and I've been to them all.

There should be no excuse way you should have to wait when the restaurant isn't busy, & you have wait staff waiting around! They could not figure out where to seat us in a almost empty restaurant & the host walked away & left us standing by a dirty table, when there are tons of other tables clean & ready! The service was so bad at this place we walk out before we even sat down! So we head to the one on RT15 where service was better!

Wingys are pretty good. Here at AYCE Wing night. They have tons of flavors. Watch out for their ridiculous prices on bleu cheese, carrots and double baked wings. One dollar each. Crazy....

I have been coming to this Arooga's since it first opened and I am here just about every Wednesday for $.39 wing night. I pretty much usually get the same thing, 10 wings, usually split flavors, a side order of fries and a pitcher or two of beer. This is probably one of the best wing deals in the area considering the variety or flavors. I will also say that they have the hottest best tasting wings that I have had in the area. I enjoy the very spicy taste of the sudden death wings and cannot seem to find much in the area that compares to heat level with a good flavor. The service is hit or miss from week to week. One week you will get very plump juicy wings coated in sauce. The next week you will get small wings that barely have any meat or sauce on the bone. They charge for extras like wing sauce instead of mayo for a sandwich. I occassionally stop in on other nights for a quick bite as service is USUALLY speedy. But as mentioned before there have been some issues in the past that have been addressed with management. If you want good food and cheap beer check it out. Also M-F 430-630 is happy hour and you can get wings for $.49.

I find myself at their CH Bypass location with co-workers for lunch or an after-work drink but I was pleasantly surprised when I first stopped by the new location on the Carlisle Pike. The staff and service was friendlier and faster than I had been accustomed to at other locations. When going to Arooga's for a meal, THIS is the location to go to. Their menu is massive so you are bound to find something that you like. Obviously, wings & bar food is their specialty. They have more TVs than mission control, which makes it a great place for watching games on a Saturday or Sunday.

I love the AYCE wing night, the Carolina Sweet and Tangy sauce on the bone-in and boneless wings is done right and tastes so good. Fries are good and service is friendly and quick. Mozzarella triangles are really good. Just recently tried the Pepperjack bites and they are great too, although I enjoy them in the marinara sauce instead of the sauce they come with. Baseball bats are tasty too. Depending on what kind of experience you want, you need to time it right.

My girlfriends and I went here on a Friday night. We waited almost an hour to get in, which for a good restaurant is acceptable on a Friday night (in my opinion). Unfortunately, this place did not meet my expectations. We sat down and put our drink and appetizer order in. It took them half an hour to get them out to us. I understand they were busy, but I don't think it should have taken 1/2 an hour to get us our beers. That's just insane. I specifically asked the waitress what came on my burger and she assured me that lettuce and tomato did not come on it. But when it came out, there were both. My burger [the chili burger] had almost no flavor and the fries were soggy. The only reason I'm giving this two stars is because my girlfriends LOVED their food. I was not so impressed, though.

We went to Arooga's because we were told they have a lot of beer. 20 beers on tap from what I remember. Only one of those beers was a micro brew. I pretty much had to get up and look at the taps for myself because the waitress didn't know what they had. Their ribs look like something you'd get from the frozen section in the supermarket. I'm pretty sure they just microwave them and send them out. Since the one in Hanover is getting bad reviews as well I'm sure it's going to wind up just like Damons.

One of my favorite things about having to come to central PA is getting to visit this spot. Great wings - fun atmosphere and NTN Trivia make this place worth the stop alone. Service is always very good - and I am a fan of the refs here (wonder why)!

My boyfriend and I went to the Aroogas located in Camp Hill on the bypass 2 Sundays ago. We got there around 630pm and decided to sit outon the deck area. After being seated it took our waitress more than 5minutes to come take ourdrink order. When ordering food I asked for 5 boneless buffalo Blue wings with a side of ranch and a side order of loaded fries. The waitress asked me what kind of wings. So I repeated the kind of wingsI previously said. Then she asked me if I wanted them Aroogas styleand I replied no that's why I ordered a side of loaded fries. Then shesaid oh, you want a side of fries? Would you like them loaded? Thisto tells me she didn't listen to a word that came out of my mouth whenI originally ordered. Than my boyfriend ordered a salad and she askedhim what side he'd like with it. We argued that the salad did not comewith a side and ahe argued that it did. So he ordered one and askedwhat the cost was if it wasnt included and she replied $.99. The foodwas prepared in a timely manner and our orders were correct. After wegot our food the waitress came out and told us that the side was notincluded. Then we didn't see her for several minutes from then tillafter we finished our meal. While waiting on our (MIA) waitress awoman very very VERY intoxicated came falling out the door onto thedeck with a life size display in hand with an African American Male onfront. She yelled repeatedly that she was tired of looking at the "little black man" as she placed the display from the bar area onto the deck. The woman then turned and looked directly at me and said "aren't you tired of looking at the little black man?" I can only naturally assume she chose to change her attention to me because I wasthe only African American at your establishment at that time. Alreadyannoyed with the service I replied no, but I am tired of looking atyou. As I stood up from my table various Aroogas team members madetheir way out to the deck. The woman insisted on talking to me as employees apologized for the disturbance and told the lady she mustpay her tab and leave. Fed up with still waiting for the check and thedrunk woman, I decided to go inside to get the check myself. I sat ata table near the cash registers and away from the bar. The intoxicatedwoman was back at the bar and still shouting about the little blackman. The woman spots me and makes her way back to me because she wantsto talk. Your staff pulls her away once again and threatens to callthe police. The cashier apologizes once again and said they took 50%off my meal for the disturbances.Clearly I do not have to spell out the numerous problems I have with your staff on this day. But a few questions do come to mind about the lack of professionalism. My receipt (which I still have) says that my waitress was a Trainee2. Why was such an inexperienced employee working by herself? If Shes the trainee, I never saw a trainer and shewas never introduced as trainee. Why is the only discount on my receipt the 15% lunch discount from a coupon i used for my visit yet I was told by the staff that our bill was discounted 50%? I was quoted $.99 was the cost of the side, the receipt shows $1.99? How did a bartender with 5-7 customers allow a woman to get so visiblyintoxicated? Out off all the employees working in the dining, hosting, cash register, and bar area NO ONE saw this woman pick up a life sizedisplay and make her way through a dining area and out on the deckuntil she confronted me? Out off all the employees working in the dining, hosting, cash register, and bar area NO ONE heard the racial comments this woman was yelling and decided to do something about it?Out off all the employees working in the dining, hosting, cash register, and bar area NO ONE attempted to stop this woman beforeconfronting me a second time? Why didn't the manager make the decisionto cut his loss and kick the woman out the establishment? Surely shedidn't drink up that costly of a tab.Sadly one of the waitresses working that day contacted me on Facebook and thought I should know that the woman remained at Aroogas long after I left. The police eventually were called because the woman tried kissing several employees.I am not scorned for life, but I do hope that someone follows up with this email and takes care of this. I am in no way shape or form blaming Aroogas for the the choice words the intoxicated woman used, but the severity of the incident is. From start to finish the whole experice was the worst Aroogas visit I've ever had. Well, except for the cooks and the food runner...The food really was great. Tanesha Corum

So so food. Draft selection is good. I had the boneless wings special and was disappointed. Nothing beats real buffalo wings. I will go back just not for the boneless selection

Smartly called them in advance to let them know my "group" of 25 was coming, and they set aside an area for us. And when we burst that at the seams, they got us another table to make sure we had room. Very cool. Service was fast and accurate! I had the Bleu n Bacon burger, medium, with sweet potato fries and a diet coke. Nicely done all around. Parking can get tight when they are busy Free wifi I'll/we'll be back!

So many TVs, menu will take a while to read from cover to cover. They have drinks specials ALL THE TIME, $7 pitchers of Bud/Coors anytime. Can't understand why it's half empty at 5pm on a Saturday. I'm was at the bar and the service got instantly better after Lisa got on duty.

Came in twice with my husband in the past week. Since we live around the corner it's always convenient for us. The first time was last Friday. Ordered some drinks and some wings. Now, I know this is my problem, but I'm really, really, REALLY picky about how my wings are done. They gotta be fried well done as soggy skin makes me nauseous. I also like a little heat. So I ordered 10 of the Chipolte wings, very well done. They were supposed to be middle-of-the-road hot. My husband loves heat and ordered some flavor 3 or 4 down from the top of the list. Sadly, my wings were not well done. I order them this way all the time and I guess it was a problem this time. And, I think they switched the sauces. Husband said his weren't hot at all, and I couldn't even eat mine because they were too hot. I mean, WAY too hot. Total waste of money. Came back this past Saturday to watch the Penn State game. This time, I ordered WAY down on the list (Buffalo Bleu) just to be safe. This time, wings were fried great! Sauce was meh. Sorry, I just enjoy heat. Not sure what to order now. Maybe some of the sauces from the old menu could be brought back?

Arooga's is fine for what it is ... a sports bar. Fairly deep menu, can make a boli to order with any of its myriad wing sauces. I like that. Waitstaff likes its smoke breaks. And Andrew, people are venting and don't expect a back-and-forth with the staff, pleasant or not. We understand that you care. :)

Ugh. I wanted to love this place. Walked in and a super nice atmosphere. Menu looked spectacular! Lots of very unique options. Friendly bar tenders. All really pumped me up thinking I was going to get some quality food. Ordered fried pickles appetizer. Bleh. Watery? Not sure what the problem was but they weren't good. Pickles looked wilted and pulled right out of the batter. They weren't made back in the kitchen for sure. Ordered a chicken sandwich on a pretzel bun. It was OK. Has a side of lobster mac and cheese. Ew. Noodles were small, cheese sauce was watery, temperature was warm to cool with cold chunks of lobster. When I walked in here I was surprised that the place averaged three stars. Now I get it. Coming for drinks and some tv? Then great! Coming for food? Keep going. :-(

Dined here with family when we were in town over the summer on vacation. The menu was huge. Overwhelming almost. And I was super hungry, which made it harder to decide because so much sounded good. The food was pretty good, and our server was excellent. I can't remember his name now, but he reminded me of Seth Rogen. It was a good time, and we'd definitely come back if we found ourselves in the area again.

Last evening went with 6 friends to this Arooga's. A young gentleman waited on us. I had the Apple Walnut Chopped Salad with a Coronna Light Beer. Delicious and the price was reasonable. As the Germans say,"Essen war gut," Food was good! I will be back.

I have eaten at this and all of the area Arooga's many times. I don't know why we keep going back...perhaps it's the fact that there is a decent selection of food, which is adequate for this style of restaurant. But service here is a joke. Rarely do I get good service. Tonight I was served a beer I drink on regular occasion, at home and elsewhere...a premium beer, mind you, for which they charge $6.50. The beer that arrived was not the beer I ordered, but more along the lines of a Coors or Miller Light. I let it go at first and just asked for a replacement, which they willingly did. It was all you can eat fajita night. With food service being slow, I was lucky to get one serving for $13. They were luke warm. This aspect of the service caused me to ask for a manager. I called out the service speed and took that opportunity to call into question why they were serving an inferior light beer and charging for a premium imperial IPA. He insisted he knew the beer in question (Dogfish 90 for anyone else who orders it here) and pretty much told me I didn't know what I was talking about. He had another staff member come out and show me the label of the keg, which was supposed to satisfy me that this was the correct beer served. I am drinking the exact beer I was to have received at Arooga's as I am writing this review. It is darker copper in color (not yellow) and has far more hop taste. Why isn't the Arooga's staff or at least the management knowledgeable about the product they sell? Even the keg is mislabeled, do you not even know the basic difference between a light beer and an imperial IPA? If you can't tell the difference, you have no reason to be charging high-end beer prices. And, this aside, why would you treat a customer who was dissatisfied enough to call you out on it in such regard? I am not only dissatisfied, but angry that this restaurant (chain) is taking advantage of so many unknowing consumers who may not understand enough to question what is being served to them. Perhaps the distributor or the brewery mislabeled the keg. That can happen, but the manager made it pretty clear that he had no intentions of checking into my complaint so that some other unsuspecting customers wouldn't get the wrong beer. The beer situation may have been a one time mistake (although have heard from two friends now who have said they also have gotten wrong beers at this chain). I assure you from many experiences that this type of service is the norm. They simply don't value customer service. If they did, this wouldn't happen repeatedly. I have in previous visits sat for up to a half hour waiting to be served. Do yourself a favor, AVOID Arooga's and spend your hard earned money at many of the other establishments who really do value your business.

This is a great establishment for all ages. The food is excellent. I love their skinny wings; very unique item! They have a wide variety of sauces and can please all taste buds! The bartenders are great they are personal and make you feel acknowledged. If you have been a previous customer, they acknowledge it. I have observed they greet most people by name! The specials are awesome, two happy hours and great assortments of beer on tap! If you want to watch sports, this is the place to go! You can not miss a play no matter where you turn, or go the bathroom, the TV is in there too.

I have eaten at many Arooga locations and I have eaten at this one several times. I like the wide variety of food options. I have found some wing sauces I like. My complaint has nothing to do with the food and service. Both of which are always adequate. My problem with this location is the mildew smell all over the TV dining room. The smell is horrible near the windows. You can even smell it on the other side of the room. They must have had some type of water leak. I cannot eat there again. The first time we ate there and smelled the mildew, we thought it might just be a problem with the table near the window. We sucked it up and gagged through the smell. The second time we were seated in the same vicinity. We asked to be moved due to the smell. They moved us to the center of the dining area. It was better, but we could still smell it. The last time we were again seated next to the window. The smell was overwhelming. We again asked to be moved and they moved us over to the other side. Again, the smell was better but it still ruined the meal. I'm not sure how people stand to eat there with the musty, mildewy smell infiltrating their noses with every bite. Perhaps the clientele live in old houses with wet basements and are used to the smell. As for me, I am going to only eat at other Arooga's from now on. I can't give up their chips with the blue cheese or some of their wing sauces.

the male manager was nice and asked how my day was and told me about the ribs tasting good so I ordered them. He was right. they are good. He is a cool guy. and you can tell he truly cares about the place and it's customers. He told me about certain special burgers that they have sometimes. I love a good hamburger. Shelby was my waitress. She was polite and did a good job. The two hostess in the front when you walk in have nice smiles, and make you feel welcome. I hate going into a place to eat, and getting unfriendly people. Both visits to this place, the hostess and workers are pleasant to be around. The crab cake tasted good also.

As aggressively as these folks have been expanding, I figured something keeps the people coming back. The onslaught of televised sports is one thing and a respectable variety of brew never hurts but the food must hold up. It aint the quesadillas, which are kinda sloppy. It ain't the miniscule portion of sub par ribs. The wings though are a different story altogether. Twice-baked is the way to go. Dared the Ghostface and was rendered numb for a memorable birthday experience. It wasn't pretty but one doesn't simply pass up Legendary Ghost Pepper. The real thing folks, tear gas hot! At your own risk seriously. The Jerk wings are a triumph, like "Where'd they go?" good. With wings this good, there's no doubt who our go-to option is in the area.

New location on the Carlisle pike, opened Sunday afternoon. If you've been to any of the other locations around the area, then you know what to expect here. Lots of TV's lots of sporting events on display, lots of brews on their way past your view. Service was pretty quick for our food which was on par with the other Arooga's, not fantastic, not horrible, but something decent to eat while watching football. This location does have Buzztime trivia as well, but finding a television with it on during a game night would probably be murder. Server seemed properly trained and knew what the specials were for their opening. I wish there could be more to add, however since it's a chain, and all alike, nothing really stands out. So like in my previous review, come here for a game and a drink, not quiet intelligent conversation.

Came here after a friend kept singing the praises of the HUGE menu and beer selections. I was definitely impressed with the number of wing sauces, as well as the somewhat overwhelming amount of appetizers, sandwiches, etc. that were offered. I only have two issues with this place: 1) The crab dip could use some more Old Bay. You could hardly taste any. Not sure if this was a one-time fluke, but it was disappointing. 2) Where are the drink specials and the beer/alcohol menus? Am I supposed to ask to see them? The people waiting on me gave me the impression that I should know what I want to drink without seeing what they have to offer, and were a bit impatient when I asked what was on tap. I'll be back, that's for sure. It's a great place to relax with a beer and some good food while you watch the game.
