Pancake house/casual dining. Staff is always friendly, service is fast and food is yummy! They have a nice dessert selection and prices are great :)

Great family restaurant great food and service. I haven't been here In years but it's a friendly place that you relax and enjoy great food.

Went here based on a recommendation from a local. That local lost a bit of credibility with me on that one! Promises of large portions and a generous menu selection were true. And, I admit there's a soft spot in my heart for restaurants that list an item on the specials menu simply as "waffle." That is funny. But the rest of the experience was not. This place is dated - the proverbial greasy spoon but without any of the unique characteristics you find at well-reviewed, renowned greasy spoons. Two stars. One for easy parking and one for super-friendly service. I've heard people rave about the pricing here because it is super cheap. It has to be super cheap, because that's how the food tastes. That's how pricing is supposed to work.

This place has been around for a long time. Originally it was the colonial pancake house. Standard small diner fare. The salad bar is weak. Soups are usually chicken noodle and done random thing. It can get a bit noisy and crowded on Sundays. People rave about the stuffed cabbage piggies when they have it.

I am a big fan of the Grille. I used to visit the Grille on Mondays with my friend Big Bren (He's rather freakishly tall, and sports a beard and a 1980's L.L. Bean hat -- if you want one, you can't get it -- because they don't make that sort of hat at L.L. Bean anymore, only in the 80's) Bren has traveled as far as the L.L. Bean store in Maine, or so I think. It's a good hat. I think a good hat is a hat that when you think of the person, you think of the hat -- like Sherlock Holmes or any cab driver from a certain period in seedy American history. My roommate who wears the robe, would often dress is regular clothes to enjoy Grille Mondays with us. The Grille has old-style booths, that look like they might have been refurbished from booths found in a junkyard. I like that down home feel. It almost feels like Monk's from Seinfeld if Monk's from Seinfeld was in Luzerne and attracted the regular sort of Luzerne characters. I often go with the breakfast, a country-fried steak -- I'm not sure why, I don't really enjoy it -- but I don't want my roommate in the robe to order it, so I order it -- he's the kind of guy who won't order what your ordering, we have a good relationship and I feel like a lot of that has to do with Grille Mondays, and the time we spent there -- also the coffee is great, I like anywhere where you can sit down and turn your cup over, because it's been sitting on the table all day and the waitress says something like "WE ALL HAVIN COFFEE!" and pours them accordingly. Sometimes my girlfriend will go to the Grille with me, but she's more of the city-born-snob-type when it comes to restaurants and will often turn her nose up at the "atmosphere" in there. I put quotation marks around "atmosphere." because there isn't any. If you go ask for the waiter with the earring, he's awesome - - also is the guy with the bandanna the chef? or an owner? I don't know, we always wondered. If your a hundred years old, or a care free man who doesn't care what your food taste like, the Grille is your kinda place - also additional salad bar for 2.00 is awesome. I am really into soup. But I think all the salad bar food comes from Gerrity's...

The food here is hit and miss. It's best to stick with simple things, like chicken fingers. They have a salad bar with two soup options. At it's best, it's just ok. The best thing going for it is that it's cheap and convenient.
