Best breakfast in the valley. Everything is super cheap, service is always great, and food is always out fast.

Really great food here!!! I think the first time I went here was about a month ago, and I have been here 3 times since then. It's definitely my new favorite breakfast spot in the area. I am almost always a bacon & eggs type of breakfast person, but two times I had breakfast here I got french toast and pumpkin pancakes. Both were spectacular! My boyfriend loves the eggs benedict here, which I can't confirm because I am not a fan of eggs benedict in general. I always have attentive service and the portions are generous but not so much so that you can't bare to eat it all. I definitely recommend!

Quintessential diner service in a clean and friendly environment. Open at 6am, even on a Sunday morning. Two eggs over easy, were as ordered. Two sausage links, fried up with crisp casing that had ripped along the sides, however was not overcooked and maintained their juices. Hashbrowns had a good mix of crunchy outer layer with softer body. Toast was toasted :). Prompt, nice, and would recommend to even my frenemies.

Just met Chuck! He handed me the newspaper as I sat at the counter. What a nice guy! The atmosphere is super easy and friendly. The breakfast sandwich on English was yum and get the shredded hash browns well done. Delish!

I went to Chuck's this morning - and breakfast was finally revealed in all it's glory. I went to Chuck's with my usual gang (my fat roommate who wears the robe, my city-born-food-snob girlfriend, my brother another food-snob but a bit more down to earth, his girlfriend and a man named Sean - who I would consider a friend, when I'm drunk and don't really have anyone else to talk too.) My previous dining experiences with my brother and his wife, I mean girlfriend, have not always been top notch. Once in Altoona after a wonderful Eric Clapton concert (that's right, Clapton: he opened with Hello Old Friend, and I felt like he was talking directly to me) we stopped in a Mexican Restaurant and I became violently ill. The only thing violent about my reaction to Chuck's, was the fist I mega-pumped in the air to signal the success of devouring such awesome eggs. Next time I go I'm going to bite with full force into one of those sausage links that my fat roommate got - it had that red-brown shimmer that only appears on a true breakfast warrior link. I will now go to Chuck's as much as a can. Maybe I'll ride my bike I got for Christmas, -- that's the kind of place Chuck's appears to be - a place you can ride your bike too, leave outside, and it won't be stolen. I'll ride that bike, back through a time portal into a place where community meant something - where the cop, the mail man and the dog catcher sat at the same counter and ate the same eggs, and everything was okay with the world again. I'm still digesting as I look out the picture window in the study, and wondering when will the streets be a lined again with institutions like Chuck's, instead of the same old chain restaurants -- it belongs on Main Street, because diners like Chuck's are Main Street.

Following a weekend of camping at Ricketts Glen, we were hungry for good diner breakfast food and took a chance on Chuck's FTW (for the win)! Very friendly and attentive staff, busy but not too busy that we had to wait, clean and good food. We even met Chuck himself, who kept the coffee flowing. So more on the food. I'm not generally a french toast kinda gal but was in the mood. It hit the spot and was perfectly done. I personally would recommend the home fries (well seasoned cubed potatoes with onions) but my husband (a no onion kinda guy) was very happy with the hash browns. The great thing about Chuck's is that it's not too big. The diner is one room without being loud. The front wall is all window which kept the room sunny and bright. Additionally, they take credit/debit cards (read a previous review who said they were cash only). Overall, a great experience. Would come back again on our way to Ricketts Glen.
