MAKE SURE TO CHECK YOUR FOOD FOR FOREIGN OBJECTS! Typically we know what we're getting here. Fairly generic italian fare, good atmosphere if you eat outside (or fairly sterile if you sit inside), and service that's best described as hit or miss, with it more frequently being miss. Last night though, was very poor. I took my daughter here for what I had hoped would be a good start to a date night. Our service was just meh, we were being helped by a younger gentleman named Brody, who seemed like he had never waited tables before the last week or so. We ordered our food, she had mac and cheese (standard fare for a 5 year old), and I order the shrimp and crab alfredo. After what seemed like 15-20 minutes our food arrived - hers was fine, mine was not. My first fork full of food revealed what turned out to be A METAL TWIST TIE. When I brought this to Brody's attention, I was met with a 'Aww man, I'm really sorry about that. Here I can take it for you...' and that was that. No offer to get me something else, no offer to comp the meal just 'I can take that for you' and no apology. I foolishly ate around my food a bit but lost my appetite quickly and we finished up. I understand I probably could and should have said something. We'd already been there for about 30 or 40 minutes though, and had to get on with our night. For the cost, the service/food/and atmosphere here should all be much better than they are. It seems like the training the staff gets is an issue as it's been this way for a very long time at this location. Something tells me this would be a good place for a TV show like Restaurant Impossible, something to help them get their act together and reach their potential. Long story short - there are 100s of better options throughout Lancaster. Pass on this one unless you're going to the movies and hard pressed for time - even then Hoss's (YES HOSS'S!) is probably a better option.

Big disappointment. We were regular customers for this place and even recommended it to friends! Came in with my parents visiting us. Tonight was a disaster... burned cajun scallops, far too more salt in all meals, risotto that is not a risotto but basic rice and slightly overcooked, the thin crust pizza had a huge piece of crust with nothing on it, the bruchetta were taste less... They said they had not change chef but have several young guys in kitchen not doing consistency in cooking? Not a very good answer to me. Something had gone wrong with this place and the prices are still quite high for the area. Will give it one more chance.

Fiorentino's is our go-to spot before or after a movie at Penn Cinema across the street. I always have the Ravioli with chicken prosciutto and peas in a blush sauce. The blend is lovely and neither the peas or ravioli are overcooked. I start with the tomato basil salad and ask for blue cheese crumbles, although it comes with fresh mozzarella which is just fine. My husband varies between many items from the salmon to the chicken marsala to the various specials and likes them all. Tips: They accept reservations, which are needed most nights. Ask for a booth in the pub area, which puts you at a window overlooking the airstrip. If you bring in your movie ticket stubs after the movie or receipt before the movie, they will give you 10% off. Great draft beer selection and very passable house wines by the glass.

So I'll start with the good. The food. It was pretty good. We got the calamari and a muffuletta pizza. Calamari was fried heavily but still pretty tasty. I really liked the muffuletta pizza; I love the sandwich and this was the first time I've seen a pizza version. Others in our party had salads and the Gorgonzola burger. Everyone seemed content with their food. They also have a pretty nice selection of craft beers. Now the bad. 1. We had a party of 6, we made reservations almost a week in advance for 7pm. We arrived on time and were told it would be just a couple minutes til they had a table for us. Just a couple minutes quickly turned into just a bit more, and we weren't seated until 7:40 pm. No apologies, no compensation, no free drink, apparently just another day at Fiorentino's, 2. Service was slow and sporadic. Our waitress was polite but definitely overworked. 3. We were handed both paper and leather bound dinner menus. Both menus had the same items, but as we found out later, not the same prices. One of our party ordered Cajun scallops and but then when we got the check they were $2 more than they were listed on the menu. She pointed this out to the waitress, who quickly showed her that "no, they are $2 more on this other menu" and refused to honor the lower price. I realize $2 isn't a big deal, but any establishment that doesn't honor its published prices is not a likely candidate for my future business. Do what you say you will. Simple.

First of all. IT IS AT SMALL AIRPORT. Does anyone really expect greatness ? For what it is and where it is its excellent. All these food critic reviews are ridiculous. Nothing but inane diatribe from frozen dinner junkies. This place is pretty good taken in context

I mean I always eat the stump of a romaine head dipped in vegetable oil, don't you? How does someone consciously serve this?

This is a favorite fly in spot. They have recently remodeled and the restaurant is more open and light. The food is consistently good. They serve bread with dipping oil which is always warm and fresh. The bar is always lively but its a family friendly crowd. The portabella pizza is a great appetizer, the steak tips sub s messy but awesome, the pasta dishes are filling with just right amounts of not too sweet red sauce and creamy white sauces. They have a private room for meetings or special occasion and a back room for a larger crowd too. i'd recommend a reservation for a party over six though.

Boyfriend and I love coming here! We're big fans of the crab dip. Last time I had the homemade spaghetti and meatballs and it was awesome! Would definitely recommend this place!

Went here for mother's day as a group of about 15. Took a long time to get even our drinks, over 1:30 to get our food. Service was terrible and slow. My drink was never refilled, the waiter didn't come back to ask us how our food was or if we needed anything. Our Caesar salads came with some sort of Italian dressing on them, not Caesar (I guess they ran out) and were wilted soggy lettuce with croutons that came out of a bag. My main course was alright, nothing special. The bad part was I almost ate a large piece of plastic, about the right size to get stuck in my windpipe if ingested. It was sharp and right in my pasta sauce. When we informed the waiter, he showed the manager, and she came out and said "Oh, we know exactly where that came from, we use some sort of containers and a piece broke off one of them earlier, and we knew it would turn up somewhere" IF YOU KNEW IT WOULD TURN UP IN SOMEONE'S FOOD, WHY WOULDN'T YOU HAVE THROWN OUT ALL OF THE FOOD AROUND WHERE IT BROKE OFF?!? You would rather endanger someone's safety and possibly life by having them choke to death on a piece of plastic than throw out a few containers of sauce? I will never go back here again, there are so many other Italian restaurants that put this place to shame.

We had a fabulous dinner! We were visiting the area for our anniversary and we were trying to decide on a nice place for dinner. After much time on Yelp we decided to try here and we are very glad we did!! I had the lasagna, it was great! The bread comes got and with oil and Romano cheese to do it in, so good! They also offer Angry Orchard mixed drinks which were great. I am a huge hard cider fan and this is a great idea! My husband has the spaghetti and meatballs. The meatballs were very good. Because he didn't love his meal, is the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars.

Stopes by tonight, sat a the bar. Bar service was good, food was very bland. Wife and I been saying for some time that food is going down hill. Don't thing we will be stopping by anytime soon.

Excellent food. Pleasant server. Enjoyable evening. We ordered from the a'la'carte menu & were VERY pleased w/ each of our risotto dishes. Would definitely return again.

I love flying my airplane to lunch! Yes, Fiorentinos is quite convenient place for those of us who fly, we just park the plane outside the door and walk in, but it's also a great place to drive to and eat!! We had salads and sandwiches for lunch, I couldn't try any of the beers, but everything on the table was top notch. I especially liked the battered french fries! Damn that was good.... My buffalo chicken ciabatta was just the perfect size for me, and well made.

We have been eating at Fiorentinos for years and have always enjoyed their food, until recently that is. Our last 2 visits have been not good. I ended up leaving much of my dinner which was a take on an Alfredo sauce. What Italian restaurant can't make a good Alfredo sauce? It was thick and gloppy and practically inedible. I ended up eating the chicken and leaving much of the pasta with the congealed sauce in the bowl. The drinks we ordered, 4 different ones at our table, were extremely weak. What a shame that this great restaurant in a convenient location and offering views of the airport has such mediocre food. WE will rethink eating here as often as we have in the past.

For years we have stopped by the bar after a movie for a simple meal. That's always been fine, but the restaurant never impressed me...neither the food nor the atmosphere. Went there for dinner this weekend and was pleasantly surprised. The interior has been redone and is now quite nice. The food was excellent. AND they have a very decent selection of fine beers. I will go there again and will recommend it to friends. Blue

My wife, two kids and I had excellent pizzas. My other daughter had great ravioli. The waitress was attentive and knowledgeable. One star off for a $9 mixed drink. I'll be back, but just not get a mixed drink.

Had a lovely meal with friends. Hard to see a fine dining restaurant in an airport . Had a meal with sausage and peppers over angel hair pasta and it was delicious . My wife had lasagna and said it was the best she ever had. They were busy for a Thursday so service was a little slow . Will go back.

Went there for the first time the other day. I wasn't expecting much because inside it doesn't look much nicer than other typical bar/grill type places but I really loved it! The waiter was friendly and attentive to us. The food was amazing; we had bruschetta as an appetizer which was good but they have many other appetizers that I think would have been even better. I highly recommend the salmon with citrus zest. I almost always get salmon when I eat out, but I think their salmon with citrus was one of the best. The citrus flavor in the salmon was strong but not the point where it was too much. I believe that dish is one of their specials. My sister had chicken broccoli Alfredo which was also really good but I DEF recommend the salmon with citrus. I will be back again.

Service was okay. Food was decent. We shared: 1. Modena pizza (fresh mozzarella, sliced tomato, basil, prosciutto, and a balsamic drizzle). The crust was supposed to be thin, but overall it was doughy. Not horrible, but not what the menu led us to picture. 2. Pasta Portifino -- penne, chicken, mushrooms, sausage slices, and shrimp in a slightly spicy tomato sauce. I really enjoyed this dish. 3. Ceasar salad was tangy and light. 4. Peach Cobbler adult beverage was well received by my wife. 5. Bread was warm on the outside but cool in the middle :( We had a large group and they took us ahead of a reservation -- we were told we needed to be out by 6:30. Frankly I would have rather been turned away than feel rushed. It defeats the purpose of getting together when you know the clock is ticking.

Love love love the staff!!!! Excellent service!!!! Great atmosphere and live entertainment!!! Food is amazing. Love the apricot bacon pizza!!! Wings and grilled Caesar are amazing too! Awesome selection of beers!!! One of our favorite restaurants!!!!

  • Linda H.

Our waitress was really friendly, and the food was bland. The French fries were really addictive. I'm no sure if I have a high tolerance for spicy food or if the red spicy broth clams just weren't spicy at all. I ordered the linguini and clams... The clams were so overcooked, I thought I was eating chicken. My boyfriend had the spaghetti with meatballs, it wasn't the best we ever had. If you want some good Italian food then go to Bensonhurst, in Brooklyn NY.

We gave this place another chance, and we're glad we did! They have since remodeled and the bar area is outstanding! Craft brews that are contralto changing, and a soon expected updated outdoor seating area! Excellent! Glad to be back!

Pleasantly surprised. Pizza crust light and crispy. Nicely seasoned sauce. Fresh toppings. Husband had the cheese steak sandwich and said it was one of the best he's had. Odd location but overall very very good. Will go back again.

I had heard that KLNS had a restaurant, but I hadn't heard how good it was. This fully functional Italian gem is literally on the ramp! When I say fully functional, I mean that they actually have a full bar. Not that it did me any good since I just flew in to shoot the full VOR 8 approach and grab a quick bite (8 hours bottle to throttle). Being in the heart of Lancaster County I was expecting an Amish Diner. I had one of their signature pizzas. Great crust and the chicken had a Caribbean jerk quality to it with a nice bite. The only problem was the Seminole I was in smelled like pizza from the leftovers well into the next day!

I really, really wished I hadn't flown in here for lunch because I wanted to try their cider mixed drinks! However, I did settle for just a warm mug of straight cider. Props for all the jam band music played in here as well as for the yummy thin crust pizza. Great prices, too!

Made a reservation and had to wait an extra 30+ minutes when we arrived. But I guess that was understandable. Got to the table and waited over 40 minutes for service. Plenty of bussers/waitresses walked passed us acknowledging us waiting but seemed to care less. Salt/pepper shakers on the table were covered in a thick greasy oil substances. You could tell it hadn't been cleaned in a long time, pretty gross. Also there was a lingering foul odor in the air that was present the whole time. We wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt but after waiting forty minutes we decided to walk out, walked past staff and nobody said a thing. Really odd experience it felt like it was everyones first night on the job. The place seemed like a disaster. I am trying to be polite but I can honestly say it was one of the worst dining experiences of my life. I would NOT advise anyone to eat here. Good things there was an awesome diner close by or the night would have been ruined! Also I can honestly say I'm glad I didn't eat the food based off of other reviews. Overall terrible experience.

If you're looking for delicious, rich, and affordable Italian food COME HERE. They have great service and the food is always awesome. The seared tuna salad with house balsamic is fantastic as well as their eggplant fries! They usually have special cocktails depending on the upcoming season/holiday that are always a great choice, too.

Absolutely awesome food and service. Had traditional food and very reasonable prices. The desert of some kind of blueberry cheese cake thingy was to die for! The cheese slices appetizer was delicious and well as the meatballs that you could taste the freshness. Smiling staff of waitress's male servers and host's made it a very nice atmosphere. The place was very clean and waitress made sure your glasses were full with your favorite beverages. This is the place for good authentic Italian cuisine. Cant wait to come back.

This company used to run a very nice restaurant on Columbia Ave. in Lancaster, which they sold. The newer Airport location looked like a good place for them, and the staff, food and service started out with the same high standards as their former location. That's all changed recently. I've been coming here since they opened, and recently they greatly expanded their bar area, adding many more taps of good beer. Unfortunately their service went downhill quickly. While visiting recently, it took much to long a time to get service, then later a refill, and still later our check. Not that the place was packed and too busy, no, the gals behind the bar were preoccupied with flirting, gossiping, watching the TV, anything but waiting on the customers. Many locals have expressed the same disappointment, that the food, while still decent, is not worth the hassle with the staff and the extreme slow service. The owner is there often, but does nothing to correct this, in fact she seems to part of the problem. That's a shame, this has been one of our favorite places to eat for many years. Sorry, but you've lost my business.

Prices are fair and food is plentiful! I ordered some kind of panini; I wish I could remember the name. It had a few types of italian cold cuts, I know Sopressata was one of them. It had lettuce, tomato and onion with some kind of olive relish. I must say, typically, I dislike olives a lot, but I decided to give this a try and I was NOT disappointed at all. I ate every bit of it. I ordered the half portion (For $5.95) and that was more than enough for me. But you can get the full portion for just $3 more. I'll definitely come back here!

Great place. We thought it might not be as its an airport and everything. However it was a good surprise with good food and service. We even got too watch the planes land (and lightning go by). Have a kids menu also which was a bonus for us ... Follow e signs to the airport terminal!

We flew into Lancaster's airport on a recommendation from some pilot friends that we try out Fiorentinos. We arrived at the local FBO and caught a ride across the ramp to the restaurant from a very friendly lineman. The restaurant is located in the passenger terminal building, and seems like it would be a good place to grab a bite before a flight out, or after a flight in. They also have a patio that overlooks the ramp, but it was a bit on the cold/windy side to sit outdoors on the evening we visited. I had the Chicken Parmesan and it was very good. I chose the a la carte portion as opposed to the entree (I think it's the same minus salad and bread), and it was the perfect size for me. The breading was crispy and well seasoned, and the chicken very tender yet juicy. The sauce was excellent, and it was all served on top of spaghetti noodles. The prices for the a la carte were not readily apparent in the menu (or I didn't see them), but I was pleasantly surprised when I received the bill that my dinner had cost about $7 before tax/tip. A meal of that quality would easily go for more than $20 in a big city. They also appeared to have a really nice bar area, and even from the seating area we could see some of the Sunday football action on their generous selection of flat screens. We'll definitely have to go back for another meal soon.

This is the 3rd maybe 4th time I have been here (this is over a 5 year span...I always get brought here by friends). The service today was subpar. The food was absolutely disgusting. I had the steak salad...which was a big pile of what looked like boiled steak mixed with a watery mess of onions, tomatoes, and mushrooms on lettuce. No blue cheese was on the salad. I asked if they could provide a side of grilled veggies instead of pasta for another dish I was looking at...no...just broccoli. It was annoying because their online menu had some good sounding options that weren't available....which I get...however it annoyed me that they couldn't grill some onions, peppers, and zucchini...seeing how they had those types of veggies in other dishes. So I returned the salad...and asked for a cup of the Italian wedding soup which was a joke. They had meatballs cut up the size of the little noodles...you could barely tell they were there. I just felt that they could pay more attention to detail and be more accommodating to their customers. Maybe that's why the Columbia Ave location closed. I wont be back and will refuse to go if friends suggest I go. I keep wanting it to get better. No dice.

I always have a great experience both here and the Columbia Avenue restaurant. The food is delicious, staff is always attentive and friendly, the bread is to die for and was VERY happy with my cheese ravioli - it was delicious! Try the Skinny Peach Margarita - loved it!!

Italian place run by Italian folk. This is their 2nd place, other one is on Columbia Avenue in West Lancaster. Prices are good, food is good, staff seems to be there forever, and the place is nice. we sit at the bar, good beers, drinks.... a comfy bar. view of the airport always changes, flatscreens, great specials like pizza slices real cheap, and they have small plates available of almost all the popular items. give it a try.

Had the shrimp and crab Alfredo. Large lumps of crab and the sauce was spectacular. Girlfriend had salmon risotto - she was very happy too. We will come back soon.

Food was okay, service okay. Feels like a diner and is a bit too cold for me to recommend this very highly.

Boyfriend and I love coming here! We're big fans of the crab dip. Last time I had the homemade spaghetti and meatballs and it was awesome! Would definitely recommend this place!

I mean I always eat the stump of a romaine head dipped in vegetable oil, don't you? How does someone consciously serve this?

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
