Fortunate enough to find this on Labor Day at 8 pm when the kids were starving after a day at Hershey Park and everything around our hotel was closed. The kids had a meatball sub and a chicken parm sandwich and both devoured the huge sandwiches. I had the chicken quesadillas which were excellent. My husband had the Monte cristo, which was different than most as it was open faced, with no jelly or syrup. He did ask for syrup and enjoyed it. Prices are reasonable for what you get. We enjoyed it so much that we stopped for breakfast when we were leaving in the morning. Again, good service, clean restaurant and all food cooked hot to order. We had eggs and omelettes and everyone was happy. Would definitely return.

Just a mile or so off Rt 81 at the Manada Hills exits, the restaurant is located in a very small strip mall. After a long day with the kids at Hershey Park, we were looking for a simple meal. The restaurant is nothing fancy, but it is very clean and the menu is extensive. We all enjoyed the food and the prices are very reasonable. It was so good, we returned for breakfast the following morning.

Never had a bad experience here. The decor is a little strange, with murals on most of the walls, but the food I have ordered has always been good. They recently had a Prime Rib Week which was a huge success. I have yet to try their breakfast buffet, but definitely recommend you trying them out. Don't be shy of their ethnic dishes either. I have had the Kabobs and Baba Ganoush. Both were delicious! On a final note, I also liked their choice of music. Unfortunately, it is somewhat drowned out by the televisions depending on the time of day and whats on.

Great service! But the food...not sure what to say about it. Wasn't the best I have ever had. That's just my opinion. Goodday

What a find! They have a few Italian and Egyptian specialties in addition to American and PA fare. Had the Stuffed Grape Leaves. Delicious!

Three words: CHICKEN POT PIE. No, not that pie crust stuff you see in the rest of the country, but the Pennsylvania Dutch Style Pot Pie that you can only get in Central Pennsylvania. Gordon's serves a great Pot Pie on Thursdays. ALL YOU CAN EAT for $7.95, including a side item! On my rare trips to the Harrisburg area, I always swing by Gordon's if it's a Thursday. On my most recent visit (January 2014) the Pot Pie was hot, fresh, and full of flavor. I had a few helpings and never got tired of it. My waitress, Brittany, was very friendly and quickly refilled soda and Pot Pie. Overall, Gordon's is a wonderful restaurant, and I look forward to my next visit.

Despite a near empty restaurant at the crack of dawn, the charmless host afforded us no generous service. Not even a "good morning". After he quickly bused us to a booth, we ordered unextraordinary breakfast fare, a vegetarian omelet, a crab omelet, home fries, and dry toast. They tagged every possible extra expense onto the final bill, extra charges for meager ham in our omelets, a buck-and-some for egg whites, and they refused any substitutions after I politely asked if we could trade the home fries for a healthier option, such as a fresh fruit cup or vegetables. Curious, we tried the house hummus--it looked terrible and tasted worse, a very sour batch. The establishment itself is a blaring red eyesore, lacking both family comfort and coffeehouse style.

We go there often and have a favorite waitress the service is just as good as the food is. You can't go wrong eating there. The prime rib is never dissapointing, the eggplant Parm beats most Italian restaurants. Cheryl and Dave R

I recommend you try the liver, always good. So is the weekend breakfast buffet. The service is usually quick even when the place is full.

We got served an acre and a half of calf's liver--with gravy, no less--here one night for dinner. Seriously, the liver arrived on a plate as big as Alec Baldwin's ego. And here's the kicker: it was good! So were the sides. The spaghetti and meatballs was done right (simple, with lots of tomato sauce) too, and was served with tasty garlic bread. The house salads? Well, yeah, iceberg lettuce is blah. But the dessert, a chocolate fudge cake with fudge icing, was a gooey, gloopy feast for the calories-be-damned crowd. We ate it and rolled out of the restaurant, happy and nursing industrial-strength sugar highs. Our tab including a pair of teas came to $24 not including the tip. So, Gordon's is a very unpretentious family diner with some very friendly waitresses, a hands-on manager and an exhaustive menu. Nothing here will send you to the Michelin Guide, but if you can handle plain 'ol decent cooking, they do it just fine (including an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet on weekends for $6.95). We don't live in these parts, but we'd be fairly regular neighbors here if we did.

We were staying near by at a hotel and don't like chain restaurants so we decided to try Gordon's. The food was great. I got the chicken shish kabob. I didn't realize it came with salad. babaganoush and pita bread. I ordered the hummus platter for an appetizer. I prefer hummus to babaganoush. The turkey dinner meal was good as well. The decor was interesting, the music was a little too much to take! Our waitress was nice. The desserts looked soooo good in he case! We got a frog to go. It was yummy.

for diner type food this place was very good. Crab cake was good, steak was good, appetizers were good, nice sized salads that came with entre. The marinara sauce was very good. I come from Italian background and while its not like homemade that I am used to its still not out of a can. It was very good marinara sauce. Prices were very reasonable. Service was average though. I think it depends on your server as our server was slow but others were constantly checking on their tables. For the price and quality of food, this borders on a 5 star review but keeping at 4 for now. As I try more items from the menu I'll adjust my review but so far, very pleased.

The place is pretty big n nice inside. I got breakfast a couple times and lunch once. I got the Meat Lover Breakfast and Italian Style Omelet breakfast. For lunch i got the Gyro with fries. And they're all pretty good. Definitely will come back again.

Today was our first trip to this restaurant. We just stopped by for breakfast. I ordered eggs bacon and an English muffin with home fries, done crispy. My husband ordered the Gordons family breakfast- Eggs bacon and pancakes. Our male server brought out the plates two at a time. He did not bring a tray so it took multiple trips to bring out two meals. Had we been a larger group the food would have gotten cold by the time everyone got their plates. He said his meal was great. He really enjoyed the pancakes. My eggs were done properly, the top of the home fries were crispy (potatoes were overcooked underneath) but my bacon came out limp and fatty. When asked to redo the bacon order they took the bacon back and cook it longer.Overall it was not a bad experience and I would go again. Nothing spectacular to see here but for a basic breakfast it was not bad. Two breakfasts plus a coffee and an orange juice ended up being $20.

Oh my, ... what to say about tonight's experience. We arrived around 8 pm. The lady who came to take our order seemed a little grumpy, but it was the end of the day so I can understand why. I got the tom turkey meal with stuffing and cranberry sauce. Since i hate cranberries I asked if I could get a replacement. She said 'it's only a small amount of cranberry sauce and I said, I still don't like it and I don't want to waste it." She reluctantly gave me applesauce. we got salads with the meal and they were supposed to be Caesar salads, (she even asked us twice if we wanted Caesar and we said yes) but they came out as regular salad with Caesar dressing. Service was slow. The hostess spent most of her time on her iphone messaging and smiling. If I were the owner I would have had her in the kitchen helping the cook! There were only 3 other tables occupied and 2 of the 3 already had their food. My waitress messed up my veggie order. Since service was so slow I thought the food would be great. Not the worst, but not the best. The 'dressing/stuffing' i got with my meal was hard on the bottom like it was the last dried up pieces after a big dinner. The mashed potatoes were out of a box as I'm sure the gravy was canned also. Corn, average (after they almost served me lima beans! BLECK!) . My oldest son got chicken Parmesan and didn't care for it because it was too salty. The spaghetti sauce was average out of a jar stuff. Nothing too exciting. My youngest son got an Italian sub which took forever to come out. Of all the meals, his would have been the easiest to prepare. As for the restaurant, it seemed clean. Bathrooms seemed clean also. I noticed the time and asked when they closed, and the waitress said 9-10 o'clock ish. Then I saw the hostess leave shortly after 9 so we got everything left over to go and high tailed it out of there. Would we come back? Not for a long time and maybe not at all. We weren't too impressed.

Seems like a pretty decent diner type restaurant. Only been there once and I have to say, the Falafel Platter is fantastic. Real authentic delicious Middle Eastern dish, was a great suprise. Hadn't had falafel that good since I lived outside of NYC.

Just tried again for lunch cause I was craving a gyro. I can't say their food is BAD but its not GOOD. The sauce was bland and the meat was bland. The fries were crispy but starchy. I would eat here again if the people I'm dining with chose to eat here, but I won't come back here specifically. Seems like a good place for older people who don't care for flavor.

Sunday morning and we were the only customers; not a good sign. Too cold and we were seated closest to the kitchen where the workers congregate. The breakfast menu was high priced for the Harrisburg area, maybe that's why the lack of patrons. Good coffee but the waitress commented that she wouldn't know, she doesn't drink the stuff and that the cooks were idiots by messing up our order. However, the food was excellent, the creamed chipped beef was homemade and actually had pieces that had to be cut. Halfway through eating, the manager and half the staff gathered in front of the pie case to discuss the arrangement. This was directly in front of our table (still the only customers there) so our view was of their butts for a few minutes. Ask to be seated in the center of the restaurant and enjoy the food. Hopefully they will hire an adviser so they can stay in the breakfast business.
