My husband and I stayed here last weekend for a friend's 50th Birthday Celebration. Never hearing of Ligonier PA, I was a little nervous what we would find in the way of a hotel. Then looking at their website I was still a little nervous. I'm not crazy hard to please but since we don't get away often I look for great customer service and a clean facility above everything. The Inn at Ligonier & Tap Room got the 5 Stars right off the bat based on that criteria alone. Kathy who waited on us was second to none and the place from head to toe was spotless!!!! Seriously I'm a nut about this stuff and for whatever reason it tweaks me when things are even messy or one hair in the tub. It was totally clean. Even the Tap Room bar was spotless. My hat goes off to everyone who cleans that place. Come to my house asap, please... This is by far the coolest place we have been to in a long time. I hesitate to leave this review because I'm afraid the owners will come to their senses and start charging more for their rooms. But I know how much I rely on reviews, so I'm going to risk it. I hope the local paper takes an interest in this place and writes a story on the owners. Just the little bit I have heard of their story leaves me wanting to know more. Apparently they are a family of 14 brothers and sisters and 8 of the 14 went in together as equal partners and bought and run this place. Kathy was the sister that waited on us most of the time. She was amazing. She truly runs this Inn like a Bed and Breakfast. Through out our stay we had the pleasure of meeting more of the family, they were all wonderful and very welcoming. Upon our arrival Kathy showed us the available rooms, we settled on room #106, it had a great view of the country side and their pond. She warned us that it might be a little bit loud because it was directly over the bar, but since we planned on being in the bar celebrating, that didn't bother us. I even ended up turning in early, I could hear the music but it didn't stop me from drifting off to sleep easily. Kathy took great care of us, she quickly learned everyone's names, what they liked to drink and went out of her way to make sure we had a great time. She recommended really great local places to go to dinner and breakfast. She also told us about all of the local parks that are only 4 miles away that have fantastic snow mobile trails. Another couple at the Inn had brought their snow mobiles and said the trails are groomed and fantastic. We are planning a trip back there already to bring snow mobiles. We didn't get a chance to sample the food in the Tap Room, I'm still sad we didn't get the chippers, will have to try that next time. But they have a fantastic selection of liquor for me and my husband was thrilled at the beer selection as well. We played pool and ping pong and enjoyed their wifi juke box that you can control from an app on your cell phone. Who has that? The other guests there were really nice as well, ranging from 21 year old college students up to retired couples. Everyone just having a good time enjoying the reasonably priced drinks and fun atmosphere. Unfortunately this place is 3 hours from our house or else we would be there all of the time for the bar alone. How nice would it be to meet up w/ friends have a few drinks and then just spend the night for under $100 so you don't risk a DWI? Anyway this is getting way too long, but I had to let everyone know what a hidden gem this place is. They have a large conference room, a nice sun room, beautiful grounds, crazy low priced rooms. This is the perfect place for family reunions, any kind of office convention, etc. Finally a place that everyone will love and almost anyone can afford. My hat goes off to the entire family. I have no idea how you make it work with 8 of you, but somehow you all come together and deliver an exceptional experience. My advice is to hurry up and book your trip now before they realize what they have and it cost $200 a night. I know we will again soon. Enjoy!!!

The hostess was extremely nice! However, the pictures and menu posted is deceiving. We drove 10 miles out of our way to eat a nice dinner on their outside deck only to find out they closed their restaurant and only serve a very limited menu at the bar.

What a gem. It's a wonderful property. Rooms are quaint and clean. The owners are great and you can tell they take great pride in their hard work. The Tap Room has great beers on tap and it's just a fun place. We'll be back!

I really enjoyed my stay at the Inn at Ligonier! The food was delicious, the rooms were quaint, the staff friendly and the beer selection was top notch. Coming from Philadelphia where microbrews are really popular, I was pleasantly surprised to see some great brews on tap and a large bottle list. The food in both the dining room and Tap Room was awesome! I've frequented some of the best restaurants that Philly and NYC have to offer, and I have to say that the Chef at the Inn was right up there with the best. He has a way of putting a creative spin on well known classics! I can't wait to come back for a visit and try the rest of the menu!

4 stars is really very generous but I'm not out to destroy ratings of what is probably a family owned place when the experience I had was better than I expected. There are not a lot of hotels in this area and if you have been in the vicinity I think you know what I mean. It's very rural. Considering that, this place was nice. The rooms weren't anything to write home about, actual keys for the doors which was...charming. So there is a bar downstairs called The Tap Room. I was pleasantly surprised by this bar. It's not a five star place so don't go in expecting that but they had a great local beer selection for my husband, great prices on liquor for me and the food wasn't bad either. The chippers were the best, homemade chips with some really great sauces. We also tried the fried chicken sandwich which was decent and I also enjoyed the deep fried mac n cheese. You prob can't fry mac n cheese wrong, but I have never done it so I don't know. Anyways, it was pretty good. Like I said this prob isn't a 4 star stay but it seemed family owned and they really try it seems. All in all I would stay here again if I was in the area and that's all that matters in the end.

I feel like I should give this a better review but I have to give an honest review. Family owned hotel and bar that is quite large given it's location. This place is not near a whole lot and seems like it's one of the few places to go for a drink as well. My first impression was a bit surprised on how "family" oriented it really is. What I mean by that is I feel like everyone that works there is family. They were all incredibly nice and really helped make the stay better than it could have been. Who uses real keys for hotel rooms these days? They do. Nearly forgot my key in the door on two different occasions. The rooms were just fine other than maybe the beds. They were not the best quality but everything was clean and tidy. It's a bit old feeling as you can imagine and there is a strange setup to the building. Now the bar - known as the taproom. Very impressed with the beer selections. Good local crafts as well as many other of your favorites. They have a surprisingly nice outdoor area with good seating and a little pond with a fountain. Lastly the food - mostly average fare with one nice surprise: the chippers. Homemade potato chips with some really good hot and sweet sauce to accompany it. I tried the Mac n cheese bites, fried mushrooms and the chicken sandwich as well. Again mostly average to slightly below average food if I were to rate the food alone it would probably be 2 - 2.5 stars. If you do want a snack here get a couple orders of the chips with that sauce. You won't be disappointed. Again, id like to rate this place better. Good people doing a great job trying to make a good experience for their guests. The location really makes it tough - really in the middle of no where. So I can't ask for much more than what they provided.
