Fritto Misto appetizer... Yummy. Lightly breaded calamari and shrimp fried atop of marinara sauce. Like the mild breading and fried just right. Not too oily. What a great appetizer. And for the cocktail, a Tropical Summer Breeze with Malibu coconut rum, grapefruit & lime on the rocks. There was not a tasy harmonious blend of the ingredients. It was okay but it did not "WOW" me. I have to come back for dinner so I can get a real feel of the quality of the food preparation, presentation & taste.

My fiancé and I were visiting the area and both being health conscious wanted to have a decent meal. We decided this restaurant would be okay to try out. From the moment we walked in we felt unwelcome by the manager. He seated us by the fireplace which was nice. At least, something in this place was warm. Felt like being in Soho with an attitude to match. Food wasn't all that great. My finance's pork chop was tough and my hen dry. Mushroom risotto was good though. I have food allergies and they were accommodating which was great. However they tried to charge us for the risotto which was to be one of the sides included with my dish. Will not be returning here and don't recommend it.

This might be my favorite place in town. The cuisine is always solid, though never inventive. The service is cordial and timely. I've had particularly good luck with their soups. I should also add that I haven't yet had dinner here, only lunch. The ambiance could be better.

Entrees (salmon, trout) were well-crafted and excellent. Salads were also good. They have a good wine list with reasonable wine pricing. Service was mostly good, except they took a very long time to chill and serve a bottle of wine. We will return any time we're back in Lewisburg.

Elizabeth's has been our favorite Lewisburg restaurant since we first visited Bucknell. It is very good, but I think for the hype and the price, it could be better. I had to make reservations for Parent's Weekend 4 months in advance, which should give them plenty of time to make sure they get everything right for the weekend. The service is extremely pleasant but our waiter was a bit scattered and didn't describe every dish properly. My first issue is that bread should be warmed. There is nothing appealing about cold bread that is starting to dry out at the edges because it was obviously cut earlier in the night. Warming bread is about the easiest thing to do in a restaurant and to be served a delicious warm piece of bread to start your meal would set the right tone. Second, they were out of the special fish (Tuna). Again, I had to prepare for dining there 4 months ahead so I think they could have made sure they didn't run out of the special. They substituted pork tenderloin which was tasteless and dry. And dessert: I ordered the apple crumble which when it came was full of berries which weren't mentioned by the waiter and it was also cold. To me, any kind of fruit crumble should be warmed before serving. My daughter's drunken chocolate cake was somewhat dry. Since there are really no other options in Lewisburg for fine dining, I will certainly continue to dine at Elizabeth's when I am there, but if they could step it up a notch I would be happy to give them 5 stars.

We enjoyed the food here. We didn't think it was an overpriced disappointment or any other bad reviews. We come from New York where we are harsh food critics because we live in NYC where we have some of the best restaurants and service. This was very good food, very good service from start to finish. We were a party of 5 on Mother's Day weekend where the service could've got a bit slow, etc. Not at all. A very cute quaint place with good food in downtown Lewisburg.

My husband and I were traveling through Lewisburg to Connecticut and decided to try Elizabeth's. So glad we did. Our waiter, Terrance, was informative, thoughtful and made our dining experience a memorable one. The salad with crabb was delicious, the crab was mild and sweet -not fishy. The dessert was praline baked alaska, Wow, what a treat that was. We will look forward to our next trip to Connecticut and stopping at Elizabeth's again.

First trip to Lewisburg and so glad we were able to get a reservation in the bar area on a busy Friday night. Food was outstanding. Salmon and Korean pork shoulder were terrific after enjoying the special crab-avocado and Caesar salads...Only wished we had room for dessert. Each one looked better than the one before it! One recommendation, remove the room divider in the bar area...let us see the kitchen...

Bottom line: Elizabeth's is not worth the money AT ALL. Mediocre service, mundane food, BIG prices. My boyfriend and I went here for our pre-Christmas dinner. We had a reservation for 7pm, but when we got there we had to wait 10 minutes out in the entryway before anyone came to show us to our table. Their menu is pretty limited, our waiter was borderline awful, and the atmosphere was snooty. I had the rabbit risotto and my boyfriend had the ribeye. We also had the clams appetizer which had hardly any flavor at all. My risotto just tasted like melted butter. My boyfriend also said he's had better steak at Hoss's. The only thing that was redeeming about the meal was the bread - the olive loaf is totally delicious! It definitely is a cozy place if you don't mind how snotty the people are. I would suggest taking a date here for a drink and dessert (the dessert tray looked outstanding and it's pretty hard to screw up chocolate). Skip the dinner.

Hands down one of the nicest restaurants in Lewisburg. Great for occasions, parent visits, and a nice night out. The waitstaff are friendly and helpful. Food is consistently very tasty and I often have trouble deciding what to get. I highly recommend Elizabeth's!

Elizabeth's is pretty good, although the portions can be small. Service and drinks are good, and the food is great too. Biggest issue is the price.

This is the best upscale bistro in Lewisburg that you can find!!! As a Bucknellian, I love coming here with my boyfriend for anniversaries, V-day, birthdays, etc.! If you are looking for a formal atmosphere, dinner here is definitely en pointe. You might want to check the menu on their website before you go as their menus change seasonally. The lime and cumin seared scallops are scrumptious and en pointe....I don't know how often they offer it though. It is definitely a restaurant to try...especially if your parents are in town! Their dessert tray is also very, very tempting! I always want to try everything! They also have a very nice lunch menu here...

LOVE it! Have been going since the place opened, and it has never disappointed us. The food is always excellent, and the service is often top notch. While this isn't necessarily a "kid friendly" place, the staff has always been good with our kids. It IS probably the most expensive place in town, but it is well worth the money. In addition to being delicious, the portions are generous enough (and the bread is AWESOME) that you won't go away hungry. If you ever have the chance to have scallops there, do it!

When I went to Bucknell this was the spot kids would bring their parents for Parents Weekend because it's the nicest spot in town but it is entirely overrated and way too expensive. This is Lewisburg, not NYC. Save yourself some cash and go to Reba and Ponchos down the street. Way better food and not quite as expensive.

This is most frequently the restaurant of choice for upscale dining in Lewisburg. It's a popular stop for Bucknellians and their visiting parents, as well as a local favorite of the town's upwardly mobile professionals. The restaurant is situated in a quaint, Victorian-style house in the center of town. It has a good variety of dishes, an extensive wine list, and the menu is fairly creative and changes frequently. Additionally, the restaurant has several awards to its credit -- Wine Spectator Award 2003-2006, Finalist in the National Restaurant Association's 2006 Restaurant Neighborhood Award, SANTE Magazine's 2005 Certificate of Achievement in Wine Hospitality, and the 2005 PA Restaurant Association Award for Excellence in Food Safety.

They were very accomadating when we wanted to stay longer at our table.(I was visiting from out if town). We had the front window seat - great view. Service was excellent - attentive yet gave us space Food was great as was the timing of the food. Presentation to taste excellent. Got the tuna sushi roll for app (this was a little cold but the flavor came through more when sat for a bit) Caesar salad, and Sea bass special as my entre Home made bread brought to table was fantastic. Will always come back when I'm in town (from DC area) ps. The wine list is fantastic and priced well

Elizabeth's is THE expensive place in town, meaning it is where wealthy Bucknell frat boys take their dates to impress them. The food is okay, but in no way does it or the poor service add up to the prices on the menu. Essentially, they are charging big city prices for a product that would not succeed in a real city. Their shtick is being expensive, which they are good at. The service is pretentious but not in a useful way. Example: wiping the crumbs off the table during service but not actually succeeding except to move them arond.

Our waiter didn't come to our table for almost ten minutes after we were seated, then it took another ten for our drinks to arrive. After that the service was OK. Food was decent but nothing special.....I had the steak with chili and it isn't even in the same ballpark as a similar dish at Reba and Pancho's. My wife had the risotto...also OK, but neither one good enough for the prices they are charging. Very noisy as well.

  • Cathy B.

I agree with others who note that this is the nicest restaurant in Lewisburg. But, to be fair, there isn't much competition for that title. Passing through the other night, I stopped here for dinner. The food was well prepared, if not particularly daring. My caesar salad was overdressed and consisted of about 3/4 croutons (crumbs) and 1/4 salad. My pea soup was delicious, but largely because it was warm and I was cold. The entree, though, was quite good. I'm sure if I lived here, I would return time and time again, because pickins are slim. And, if I were passing through again, I would dine here again. But, I wouldn't make a special trip for it.

Loved it. Went to dinner with 4 friends and everyone thought their food was fantastic. I'm a vegetarian and there were great options for me too. We had not been to Lewisburg in years and this, by far, is the best dining we've ever had in that town. Glad we went!

Very nice dinner there tonight. The lamb chops were tasty and the steak was really great and cooked to order. Willing to make substitutions for side dish and did so pleasantly. Unfortunately we were too stuffed to select a dessert from the dessert tray. And those options looked incredible. The restaurant is pleasant to relax in. Will return more often

For a small town in Central Pennsylvania, Lewisburg is lucky to have Elizabeth's. Prices are a little high, so you would not make a habit of dining here every week, but our meal was excellent. It was a Friday night, on Bucknell reunion weekend, so we needed to get a reservation. Since we had skipped lunch we readily decided to go in at 5:30. The main dining room is tastefully decorated and we sat in a little bay window looking across the street to the Campus Theatre (a real gem, fully restored). To the rear of the room you will find a small bar with one or two high tops. I was also told that they have a larger room upstairs for private parties or overflow. I started with a half Caesar Salad, which was terrific and quite large. Had I known, I could have ordered the full salad with soup. I chose the Chili dusted Strip Steak with sweet potatoes, salsa and guacamole. Nice combination and the steak was medium rare, as requested. Carol had the Sea Scallops with risotto which she thoroughly enjoyed. The beer selection is small, but decent and the wine selection was nice as well. They also had a selection of specialty cocktails which looked good.

Wonderful experience from start to finish. We have been here several times. Our waiter was not only professional, but friendly and extremely helpful. He asked us about any allergies and guild us through the menu. We were there on a very busy Thursday night and did not have reservations . We were seated probably, in the middle room. The atmosphere was lively and you could tell this was the happening place in town. We shared the calamari and ruby risotto, both spot on. The water melon salad was one of the best we have had. It was nice to see a local farm to table menu with a twist on regional cuisine. The shrimp and corn pasta dish was perfect and the Asian local pork was flavorful and cooked to our wish of medium. With a bottle of Malbec and dessert our bill came to just over $100. Well worth what we order. We will be back again
