Joined two friends for dinner at Maddy's. It is a small place in the corner of a strip mall off of State Street in Lemoyne. We were there on a weeknight, and a bit later so parking was not an issue at all. The restaurant itself is small, and almost has a vibe of deciding what it will be as the restaurant matures. We were given menus by the owner, and she had two. She spent a lot of time with us, and gave us samples of jerk chicken, salad, and tea. There is a small area with various things being sold, such as beaded items, teas, scarves, etc. as you enter. When we were ready to order, some things were available, some things were not. At one point we were invited to get up and look at what she had prepared at he counter, and it was cafeteria style counter. We returned to our seats and had a lovely meal! She brought us our dishes, and the rice, the salad, the tea, the chicken and lamb were all delectable. The owner was the only person there for a while, and later what appeared to be a family member with a small child arrived. We were the only customers, and that was a bit worrisome! I learned about Maddy's Caribbean kitchen from the blog of FoodDude, so I hope folks are checking it out! Not a place I would hit in a hurry, but, the tea is to die for! I would recommend that the menu be reduced to daily fare, and perhaps decide on table service or ordering at the counter. The food was flavorful, authentic, and inexpensive. I plan to go again very soon!

Maddy's is a small sit down restraurant that serves Hatian style food, in the State Street Plaza Lemoyne. The owner was pretty nice, we came into her restaurant and spent some time looking over the menu, while doing so, she made samples of some of the food for us. The restaurant has around 10 - 12 tables, with a small tv behind the counter to watch. In the front of the restaurant they have what amounts to a souvenir stand with gifts (shoes, sandals, jewelry, drums) for Hatian goods. They have several lunch time specials and a decent sized menu for you to choose from. Traditional favorites like goat & oxtail soup await you. We stopped for dinner on a recent Friday and got a jerk chicken with rice, pork sandwich (wrap) and stewed black beans. Daily lunch specials, with most menu items running 10 - 16 bucks, and can be a bit higher for more exotic items. They've been open 3 weeks now, and while I liked the food, it did seem a little hap-hazard, they were out of a few things in the menu, but had some other items not listed there. It was still an enjoyable time, Great stop for an foodie.

Unfortunately, Maddy's did not make it and closed late last year. I notified Yelp of their closing, but Yelp did not post the update, so I am doing so now.

We like to try new places and saw this pop up. We arrived here at 8:10 pm and had high hopes. The place was completely empty, but was very clean, waitress very nice. We could hear children yelling and playing in the kitchen but that doesnt bother me because that's how most ethnic places are. We ordered an appetizer and 2 meals (both of which described on the menu INCLUDED rice and a garden salad). Salad did not come until 8:40. At a little after 9:00 I asked where our appetizer was and she said it was done and then walked out the front door!!! She came back at 9:15 and went to the kitchen and got us our appetizer. Dinner came at 9:40. I ordered the jerk chicken but got the curry chicken. My boyfriend did not receive his beans. The waitress could barely speak English and was not understanding what we were trying to explain to her. The owner was very VERY nice and brought us a free sample of their papaya juice. However I became frustrated again when we were charged $7 for the salads that are on the menu as a side the meals come with. My boyfriend pleaded with me to just leave and not say anything, not to mention it was 10:40 by now. Long story short. For $75 we lost over 2 hours of our lives waiting and waiting and waiting to be served the wrong food, and then incorrectly charged for items that were listed as sides. I don't see this place lasting too long.
