This is my favorite place to go when I have a pasta craving. Unfortunately my husband is not a huge Italian food fan, so I really have to do some arm twisting! I have had many different varieties of pasta and sauce combos here and I have never been disappointed, although sometimes they get crowded and service slows down.

I was in the area river rafting, and I came in from New York City. It obviously isn't the best area to find upscale 5 star restaurants but I was very happy with Restaurant Sapore. The mussels with the white sauce were delicious. I also enjoyed the penne. My bf had the calamari which was also good. If I was ever in the area I would go back. The decorations were so simple that I didn't expect much in all honesty. Great customer service from the waitress as well! She was very sweet.

I'd like to give this place a better review considering that there aren't many options in the area, but the food we had was just not good. Upon walking in, Restaurant Sapore looks pretty much like a dive bar, so I probably shouldn't have ordered Italian food to begin with. I ordered the Chicken Marsala and my girlfriend had the Chicken Francaise. The food came out on massive plates with a portion size large enough to feed at least two people. Some might call that a bargain, but I wouldn't call it a deal if the food doesn't taste good. Both dishes had overcooked pasta, sauce that tasted like the came out of a can (my girlfriend was pretty confident that they dumped some kind of Campbell's soup on her meal), and the chicken was just bland. There are a couple of positives, our waitress was friendly and the bread was warm and delicious. Overall, just stay away from the Italian food, maybe they do a better job with burgers and other hot sandwiches.

Wow! Just straight up great Italian food at great prices. We ordered the eggplant parm as an app special and the pasta sampler. The eggplant parm was huge. Three portions that tasted fantastic! The pasta sampler was a mix of spaghetti, stuffed shell, lasagna and manicotti baked under a layer of cheese. Delicious. I particularly liked that they baked it for a bit cause I was considering one of their baked entrees. Everything had a nice balance of sauce and pasta. The bread and salads were excellent too. Service was a little slow but very friendly. A great place to stop if your in the area or craving a hearty meal minutes off the turnpike.

We came in without a reservation, a group of 11, including 5 kids. Got seated immediately. They have great bread that they bake on premises. Everyone loved their dishes, service was fast and courteous, food was very tasty. Will definitely come back when in the area.

First, the good..... The pizza was insanely good. We tried the buffalo chicken and were exceptionally happy. However, the pizza is the only reason to not give two stars. We ordered the pizza and appetizers. Apparently no one has ever done this in the restaurant. We were informed that there was a mix up in the kitchens (yes, plural) that prepare the apps and pizza. After waiting for thirty minutes, and watching tables getting their checks despite coming in after us, our apps finally arrived. To apologize, the waitress comped us a lemonade. Geez, thaaaaanks.

Honestly I'm not sure what the hype about this place is! The waitress was sweet but she forgot my fries and the bread for the table which was not a big deal, but the disappointment didn't stop there as the food was pretty bad. The Chicken franchise was watery and the pasta very over cooked. Do not get the Philly cheesesteak either if you're used to a good traditional sandwich. Instead of sliced steak melted cheese and onion it was served like a sloppy Joe style with ground steak, ground onions, and nacho cheese mixed in. Gross. The only good thing we had was the French onion soup and the side salad. Maybe they were having a bad night but I won't be going back to waste my time.

Didn't even get a chance to try the food. Took over 5 minutes to even get seated, despite a nearly empty restaurant and the bartender clearly making eye contact with us. Once seated, took another 5 minutes to even be acknowledged by a server. Brought us the water we ordered and some menus, and then disappeared for another 10 minutes before we decided stopping at a Subway would be a better option for dinner on the way home. Everything about the service we received told us we were inconveniencing the staff, so we took the hint.

The food is good, a little pricey, but the dishes are large and I always have leftovers to bring home. The pizza and wings are yummy and the place is nicely decorated and clean. Some of the waitresses are good while others are slow and grumpy, and it gets really loud on the weekends, but I still recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for great Italian food. I do wish they would not let their employees smoke next to the door, it never fails to fill the restaurant with cigarette smoke.

So impressed, as I usually always find something wrong .. this place amazing. Really good fresh baked bread ( a lot of Italian places use pizza dough nowadays) hot out of oven to start . A *salad* which is pretty much unheard of anymore without paying for it separately . The salad was generous too with greens other than the typical Iceburg lettuce. Impressive. Shrimp Scampi? Have had twice now, both times, perfect, 5 large perfectly done shrimp over huge plate of linguini. I was in heaven. Great ambiance, great service both time from lovely ladies and I look forward to returning .

Best wings in the area, hands down! I've been going here for years and have yet to have anything bad. This is a nice local hangout with occasional karaoke and DJs. The service is kinda spotty and sometimes slow though. On one occasion we had to leave because no one came to our table yet tables after us were getting service and drinks. However I haven't had that issue since and I'd recommend checking it out.

Best Shrimp Scampi in Leighton! My mom took me and we have been hooked since. We are both pretty picky when in comes to Shrimp Scampi, and no complaints from either of us. Shrimp cooked perfectly, on top of a ton of lemony/garlicky pasta, AND you get a salad/bread. Very reasonably priced, and wait staff polite and quick. We have gone back for this meal alone.

SUGGESTION: Make a Gluten-Free personal pie and you will be LOVED by many. No where in the surrounding area makes Gluten-Free pizza. Your personal pies are awesome. Just give the option.... Regular (or) Gluten-Free and people will come from all over for your pizz.

The bartender Julie is always excellent. Some servers are better than others, BUT, THE FOOD IS ALWAS GREAT. Consistant and delicious. Reasonably priced. Great salads, and good drinks. This is our new favorite. I am from Long Island NY. Therefore I am used to good food at a fair price. Thank you Sapore, and the female cook. The owner is a great cook too, a little more generous. Went for dinner with my husband and kiddo. Service was uninspiring and the waitress seemed quite hurried. My dinner was fantastic.. penne a la vodka sauce. Perfect al dente pasta and a divine, creamy sauce. My husband's plate of chicken broccoli alfredo was not so delish. Dry and bland. Decent family atmosphere in the dining room, but could use a good scrub. Would likely go back for that vodka sauce someday!

My husband and I stopped in here for a bite to eat. . .and left absolutely stuffed and had tons of food to take home! The portions were beyond generous (I had shrimp scampi, he had shrimp Alfredo). We also ordered wings, which were a very nice size and tasted delicious. There were lots of glazes to choose from, just ask your servers for your options. We chose mild and honey for a sweet and sweaty flavor found elsewhere.

Visited here a few months back to grab a bite. Chicken wings were awesome, but service in the dining room not so great. Since we've been going back and sitting at the bar. The bar staff knows what we want even though we are new and is very prompt. Great food, great service (with the one exception)... would recommend.

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
