Outstanding food, reasonable prices. We drove an extra 2 hours just to eat the food a second time. We loved the kielbasa and perogie, best we ever had. The other thing that stood out was the friendliness of the staff. Yes there was the prerequisite smile but also very sincere. They were patient with us when trying to get children to decide and also when we asked questions about the menu. The thing that blew us away was we had a problem with one of the windows in our car and an employee offered to go to the store and pickup duct tape to temporarily fix the issue. Then later helped us jump start the car (not the best day 4 the car). What kindness they exhibited to strangers!

Insurrection craft beer is the best I've ever had and I'm a craft beer enthusiast. It pairs perfectly with the excellent food at Red Castle. There is nowhere like this in Northeast PA or the Lehigh Valley. We always stop by on our way into Jim Thorpe and pick up a growler or three! Top notch!

The food and beer was excellent. There are many options of great tasting beer. The burger that I ordered was delicious. For some reason it didn't come with fries or any side. The service on the other hand was terrible. The bartenders were constantly swearing behind the bar. They messed up several orders including mine. They were very unprofessional.

******Ok so I wrote a review on the "Red Castle Brewery" YELP page and now I'm just copying it from this one to this... didn't realize they were the same place. ******* I was really really really impressed with this place. Greg and I came here last night before going to Lowes. It was a long day at work and we just wanted something that was different. Being Polish myself I knew what the food should taste like and it did not disappoint. There are many different ways to make halupki's and the owner made these just how my Nana makes them. (Greg got the polish platter & I got the castle burger) But in the beginning we got the Polish Hangover soup and it was heavenly!!! Ok so I am getting out of order... parking, not an issue. Snow was in the way but Helloooooo its winter. - Walked in was greeted right away from the owner or manager, told us we could choose where we sat, we chose the bar - Our waitress was nice, gave us samples of whatever we wanted. Holy crap they have wine on tap! I had the red concord tasting one and that was delicious. - The soup was brought out promptly in a crock with crackers. Had a lot of different meats and was creamy. Our waitress said it had a bit of a kick to it and I didn't think so. I thought it had the perfect amount of spice. But it was that kind of soup that just fills you up and leaves a warm feeling in your belly. The perfect thing for a cold day ***Bonus the manager made an extra batch of loaded fries with chili, onions, bacon and cheese. He brought them out and asked if we wanted them. We agreed and holy crap they were delicious. Everyone should order them at least once in their life. - the meal came out and omg I was impressed. The fries were freshly cut and the burger was huge. The manager said "Its not hard to make fresh food, we don't use frozen products" which was nice to hear. The only complaint that I had was that there was mustard on the kielbasa because it wasn't on the menu that he was adding that. I wasn't going to complain, so I wiped off as much as I could. The burger tasted great though and I would order it again in a heartbeat. Greg got the polish platter and ate as much as he could. We took home a large to go box. - the restaurant is unique, the roof reminds me of houses you would see in Alaska. Something I think the bar area could improve on are more comfortable bar seats. But other then that I will be back. ****I forgot to ask if they do catering, I hope they do. I'll call later. Posting pics shortly

Loved it! My husband I stopped here after hiking. Great food and amazing service. And the beer?? So good!!! Can't wait to come back.

I LOVE THIS PLACE! this is my favorite restaurant in the lehighton/Jim Thorpe area. The wiener shnitzel is amazing, the perogies are amazing, the potato cakes are amazing, the kielbasa is amazing, even their home brewed handcrafted beer is pretty good. I highly recommend this to anyone.

Overall this place is a solid 3 stars, and I'll break it down for ya. $3.99 potato pancakes: for authenticity this is a 1 star. They didn't taste BAD, perse. But they were NOT potato pancakes. Sorry but my boyfriend is Ukrainian, and we've traveled to Eastern Europe. Not potato pancakes. They were.. hash browns. $2.00 stuffed cabbage: 3 stars. Filling was good, the cabbage was steamed well .. but the sauce was again, Americanized and not authentic. Too much tomato flavor to be truly Polish.. $3.99 3 pieces of pierogies. Standard. Nothing special $7.99 Castle Melt Burger 3.5 stars. It was cooked well, juicy, and covered in onions, mushrooms, cheese, bacon and all the good stuff -- but just on the side of pricey for what it was. 5 STAR beers though! I got the American Pale ale, and my bf got the IPA. Both great, and for $4.50 -- totally worth it. best part of our visit!! This place is great for cheap eats, the food is good and will fill you. But don't come if you want actual Plish food :p

I gotta say, i dont like cabbage at all. But their stuffed cabbage is out of this world. And yes i ate the cabbage. Delicious. Not to meantion the deep fried pickles and cheese steaks. Nice cozy atmosphere & friendly people.

A true gem in Lehighton. Definitely one of the best places to eat. The food is awesome, everything is homemade. I love eating here when I'm home on breaks from school.
(5)Joseph C.
The Polish food is 4 star, the burgers are 1 or 2 stars, so I settled on 3. The pierogis are awesome and their fries are tasty. The burgers were low quality meat overcooked and then put on this dense bun that was way too much bread for the amount of meat. Overall the result was just dry and tasteless. I'll be back for pierogi and kielbasa. And fries. I wouldn't feed those burgers to my dogs.

How could I not give this place 5 stars? It's fast food - Polish style! Don't get me wrong, there are still plenty of regular options to choose from, like burgers and fries and deli sandwiches, but the Polish side of the menu was calling my name. I picked up the Polish Platter, which had stuffed cabbage, haluski (kind of like a Polish pasta), and kielbasa. I also tried the pierogies and some of the locally brewed beer. Everything was amazing, and the stuffed cabbage was the best I ever had. All of this for around $10. It was a friendly place, with filling and delicious food. Next time I come back to the Jim Thorpe area, I will get 3 or 4 orders of stuffed cabbage - it was that good!!

This is great for what it. A throw back to the old school burger grill semi fast food Vs good food fast thing. There is definitely a 5 guys burger and fries vibe but, to be fair this place does deliver on the promise of a good meal. There is a lot of Polish cuisine thrown into the menu and it is also really good.

We were offered a number of beer samples when we arrived and were satisfied with the service, even though the girl was clearly training. Our food was tasty for being pretty standard grill fare. Beer was delicious. Will be back to try the rest of their offerings.

I had heard about the delicious food here, and yesterday decided to embark on the hour trek out for lunch. I checked online to see if the restaurant was open before leaving, but to my dismay, had to sit through a half an hour of traffic before getting to the closed restaurant. The sign on the door stated that the hours have been changed as a result of the horrendous construction traffic, which I had to drive through again to get home. Not only am I disappointed I didn't get to try the food, but it is EXTREMELY frustrating that the change of hours wasn't posted online. This construction traffic does not seem short term (so I'm assuming the change of hours is going to be somewhat permanent for a few months), and I would not have gone had I known the hours changed. It's pretty simple to put a notice on the website--all around disappointing.

Food was superb we had pulled pork kielbasa Mac and cheese and the Polish platter. All very tasty! Young thriving business.

Passed the place many many times just never had the time or the need for food to stop.Changed my schedule so I could stop by for dinner instead of eating at my regular places.Tried the Schnitzel dinner and the Schnitzel was fine but the fries were dry and or overcooked. My wife had the polish platter, enjoyed the Kielbasa, but said the stuffed cabbage was mostly rice and she was right. The Haluski was very good though. They serve Birch Beer and RC Cola brands you don't see very much of anymore, both very good. I'll have to try it again to get a better feel for the place.

I live in Queens, NY and have a summer cabin in PA. Castle Grill has delicious pirogi. The best I've had in quite a while. I've eaten here 3 times to date and I've tried 3 different types of pirogi. My favorite so far are the Buffalo Chicken, although the classic potato and the apple pirogi are also really good. I've had the potato pancakes and kielbasa too, both of which were also delicious. I think the kielbasa was the Black Forest one. Each time I ate at Castle Grill I bought their beef jerky to bring home to NY. It's out of this world. If you like garlic you will love it. I live 3 hours from here so it's nice to snack on a few pieces on the ride home. The only reason I did not give Castle Grill 4 stars is that the service is very slow. If I am in a rush to get on the road back to NY I know not to stop. It can take 30 minutes to buy beef jerky and a package of frozen pirogi to bring home. If I want to eat there I know it will be about 1 hour.

Had the Jalapeno Cheese Burger, DAMN thats a wonderful burger, not just jalapenos on it but jalapeno's diced IN it. A nicely grilled and moist burger that was seasoned through and through... I added nothing to it, it was on a nice kaiser roll and was perfect... I was more than satisfied. The wife had a cheeseburger with the "sauce" and was very happy with the food as well. We split the pierogies, done right with butter and onions and bacon and an order of halushki. The halushki was PERFECT, the right amount of butter cabbage and noodle. The folks next to us had the kielbasa sandwiches ad big as your head! Will stop again, it was everything we could have hoped for!!

I stopped by for lunch today and so glad that I did. I was intrigued by the Polish items on the menu and ordered the Polish platter for $6.99 (includes drink) and the 3pc. pierogi with bacon and onion for $2.79. The platter consisted of smoked kielbasa, halupki (stuffed cabbage) and haluski (noodles/cabbage mix) Delicious! The pierogies were ok, but I'm biased, I grew up on my mother's homemade pierogies and have yet to have pierogies that are as good as my mom's. The portion size was plentiful and I was stuffed. The only thing I would recommend is a better drink selection. I'm not a soda person but that was all that was available since the ice tea dispenser was out of order. I highly recommend Castle Grill for a quick bite. I will be back to try out the other items and perhaps bring home some of that delicious kielbasa!

This looked like a nice place as I drove by and decided to give a try and am I glad I did. It doesn't look like a castle but what makes this place unique is that they offer a nice selection of Polish favorites. Where else can you go for a quick Kielbasa with kraut sandwich, pirogi, stuffed cabbage, or potato pancakes? There is even a small Polish deli that can be found inside. I was skeptical that a fast food type place could do Polish food justice but I was wrong. First the servers were super friendly, helpful and the orders were cooked to perfection quickly. A stuffed cabbage cost $2 and it rates up there with the best I ever had. It had a perfect balance of meat and rice with a nice tightly wrapped cabbage and sauce. The pirogi was stuffed nicely and cooked just right with your choice of toppings. No frozen MrsTs here. The hamburger wasn't your typical fast food burger. The taste reminded me of Five Guys Burgers in fact I would honestly say it was better. They are not frozen, cooked to order and thick and juicy. Even down to the sliced pickles I noticed were freshly sliced and not from a can or jar. Although they don't have a major brand soda in their self serve fountain, they did have Birch Beer which was a treat. You can not go wrong to eat here. Now I know why they call it the Castle Grill because the food is fit for a King.

Lunch today included perogies and kielbasa! The perogies were filled with potato and cheese, and the kielbasa was on a bun with mustard and sauerkraut. The perogies are done with butter, onions, and bacon! Wow, really good. The kielbasa was huge and well prepared. The deli counter is small, but the offerings looked mouthwatering. Service was great. If I'm ever around here again, I'll come back.

Was visiting the area over the weekend and stopped by Castle Grill for a quick lunch - cheeseburger and fries. Glad we did! The burger was fresh and the fries were hot. Plus they still serve RC Cola & Diet cola - brings make memories of TAB.

While not the first time we've had their food, I was prompted to write this review today because it was the first time we had eaten here in a while, and we tried some new things. Castle Grill's location practically forces you past the place if you live in either Jim Thorpe or Lehighton. Situated near a major intersection, the big red roof beckons, and the signs outside proclaim the best burger around. I decided to take them up on that. Previously, we've had their kielbasa sandwiches and pierogies. The kielbasa sandwiches always impress, heaped with sauerkraut and loaded with flavor. We've recently been trying their beef jerky, which is really good. So good, in fact, that it never sticks around long when they have it; sells out fairly quick. This time we had: kielbasa sandwich, Castle cheeseburger, fries, potato & cheese pierogies, and chicken nuggets for the munchkin. First, the kielbasa sandwich my wife had was as impressive as always. The pierogies were better than I remember them being the last time I had them. The Castle cheeseburger (Castle Sauce, Raw Onion, Mustard) was pretty good, although I was concerned about the chili-like Castle sauce.; I needn't worry, as it was flavorful and not greasy at all. The fries were fresh and fried well; no goofy breading or crazy seasonings mucking things up. Just fried potatoes in all their glory. We also ordered another pound of beef jerky, which we do recommend. Meaty, good smoke / spice balance, not dry in the least. This experience was very good, and Castle Grill has definitely earned a return trip! We need an establishment like this around here, so Frank Potoczak: please keep up the great work! And keep that jerky stocked LOL!

Found this place on Yelp. The polish food is delicious! Had the Polish platter, pierogies, and potato pancakes. All very tasty! Wish they'd had some applesauce to top the potato pancakes, but they did give us sour cream. The home style haluski (cabbage noodles) was the best! Also the sauerkraut mushroom pierogies were delicious! Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was because of the paper serve ware & plastic utensils.

Excellent! Castle grill is a polish fast food place where the polish platter is the way to go! With stuffed cabbage halushki and kielbasa. Grandmas pirogues were amazing and although we didn't enjoy the buffalo chicken ones we have to keep in mind that is probably not a polish specialty! And great helpful service!

Fantastic burgers and absolutely amazing perogies. Yummmm.

Well, I just moved in down the street from Castle Grill. We keep seeing the red roof and the lights, so today we decided to hit it up fo some lunch. First thing we both thought when we walked in was, this place looks like a Five Guys. And it is sort of like a Five Guys. They have big burgers, fresh cut fries and loud (not as loud as Five Guy') music. But the music wasn't classic rock and crappy new metal. It was more of a 50's them. The thing that really sets this place apart, is that it is a Polish/American restaurant and they have a small deli in the restaurant. They have kielbasa on the menu, you can't go wrong. We both ordered the signature Castle Cheese Burger from the menu, with a few fixin's added to each of our burgers. The burgers were pretty good, nice chunk of meat. The problem we had was, they forgot to put the lettuce on my girls burger. No big deal, but one thing that went wrong. The fries were a little to greasy and I think they could have been cooked a little longer. But all in all, the food was good. The thing that we both loved about this place is, they had kielbasa samples. This lead to us buying a half a pound of Black Forest Kielbasa. That we could not stop eating! This is amazing kielbasa! You do need to check out their deli. They had a lot of different fresh baked breads and pastries. They all looked amazing. I have a feeling I will be taking a walk down the road next week for some perogies and kielbasa. I do recommend you check this place out.

Don't pass this place up great food great service and they even have a Deli inside so load yourself up and then buy stuff to take home. Believe me it's worth it to go and enjoy decent food
(5)Karla T.
Great burgers! I had the Castle Burger which has a very good chili on it plus spicy mustard and onions. I thought that the burger and fries were both better then Five Guys.
(4)Nick S.
Food was great, service was quick and very friendly. Get the Castle Burger! You won't regret it. Since moving to the area, I can honestly say it is my favorite place to eat nearby.

Starving on a road trip but unwilling to pay the prices for lunches in the eateries in Jim Thorpe, we stumbled across Castle Grill ravenous for something different that wouldn't break our wallets. We were so glad we stopped. Polish cuisine and sausages are frankly not a forte for western Maryland, so we were delighted by the offerings on the menu. Although we're a big fan of pierogies, and there were some really promising flavors, we both opted for sausage. My partner went for the kielbasa sandwich while I had the platter with sausage, haluski, and stuffed cabbage. Both the kielbasa and sausage were full-flavored with the crisp casing one just loves biting into. If we were on our way home we would have purchased several from the meat counter. We just can't find sausages like that back home. The haluski was good and fresh. Admittedly, not a fan of stuffed cabbage, I found it a little bland, but considering everything else, it was easy to ignore since the portions were so huge. We couldn't finish what was on our plates. Staff was friendly, atmosphere no-frills. Definitely will make a stop back if we find ourselves in the area.
