This place is adorable. Dinner was just okay. A menu this size always scares me, way too many options for the kitchen to be able to put out everything really well - quantity versus quality. Bruschetta appetizer was delicious, as was the marco polo chicken. Salmon was a bit on the fishy side and the sides we had were not that good (cauliflower & corn overcooked, carrots were weird). Service was friendly and not slow as others have mentioned.

Pros - Good food, large portions, reasonable prices. Cons - Sloooooow service! 1st time visit, but my parents have been there several times which was the reason I decided to go there. Made a reservation days prior for a Saturday lunch. We were only 1 of 2 couples there in the dining room! For a lunch time on the weekend and THEE only other couple there to eat, it was waiting at each step! Seating, drinks, ordering and paying the check! And when I say waiting, we're talking 10min at each step, minimum! How long does it take to get drinks? One lady sat us and took our drink order, just unsweetened teas, which I think they brew there, but that took 10min at least to get. 10min later a different lady took our meal order, a Seafood Salad and a Italian Steak Sandwich Salad. Both were very hearty and well made! Filing and delicious. While eating, it looked like we were interrupting the lady, who sat us and took our drink order, cleaning the dining room we were in. For nobody really there, cleaning the dining room while we're eating?! Chairs in the isles, cleaners left on tables as the lady left several times to do whatever else, not to mention texting and taking calls on her cell phone. Just seemed like for an upscale B&B, she would have been more focused on customer service or work in general. Our entire time there, I think she got one table cleaned and ready for the next customer as she was jumping from table to table. Paying took a while too! I would go back, but none too soon. The food was good, just VERY slow service.

Although one of our servers was kind, and I don't like to write negative reviews, I feel I must warn away anyone with a palate from this awful dining experience. The single star goes to the ambiance, which is homey and welcoming if you sit in the right section. I knew the outing would careen downhill when I looked over the menu and there were no less than 80 items of varying influences. They began our dinner with horrid buns and three lovely mini-muffins in a basket. We laughed it off and convinced ourselves the meal would make up for it. After all, Inn 422 is rated #2 on trip advisor. I ordered the sesame chicken (I was nervous about ordering fish off a mile-long menu). It was encrusted in hard, burnt sesame seeds and tasted like a soggy frozen dinner. Layered over mushy rice without the promised fresh vegetables, the chicken lay in wait, ready to choke our unsuspecting, salivating mouths. My father's steak was raw, and then promptly overcooked to a nice dead brown. My mother ordered the crab-stuffed portobello mushroom and an apple, pear, beet salad. The mushroom was a layer of crab and a layer of portobello, separated by an unforgivable layer of greasy butter, rendering the mushroom soggy and bland. Her salad, that she had to chop herself, included random vegetable that in no way paired well with beets and pears. I was so wishing this would be a delightful experience - the building is sweet - such potential. A word of warning - almost nothing that was served to us was edible, apart from the mini-muffins.

The Inn 422 is absolutely beautiful and full of history. The beds are really comfy and the amenities are bountiful. The concierge was very friendly and even invited us to his house to have a campfire. However, the caretaker that lives on the top floor is very rude and condescending. We were chatting in the hallway quite early around 9:00pm, and she came downstairs and reprimanded us. When I got back to Chicago, I thought I had left my keys there in my room, so I called to see if they had found them. She told me that they didn't find them, but she did accuse me of stealing the remote control to the TV. I didn't even turn the TV on! She hurried me off the phone, and wouldn't listen to me when I wanted to ask if she could look in a specific spot in the room for me. I wanted to go back to this place, but I won't be returning.

I've been here for breakfast many times. Let me just say the quality, quantity and overall presentation is far superior than anything else I've been too. And that's coming from someone living in a major metropolitan area. Their food is delicious. I've been there before for dinner too and thought it was fine, not sure where these commenters are coming from... but for being in Lebanon, this has to be one of the top 3 breakfast places in the area.

Food was tasty but service stinks. We ordered our food and then 50 mins later we got it. Our nana wanted us to have a nice breakfast with us so we couldnt dash.

Breakfast items are exceptional, and these are what keep me coming back. Lunch/dinner items haven't wowed me (have ordered these just a few times in the past), but I think breakfast can be ordered all day. For a real treat, have the red, white, and blue stuffed French toast (strawberries, bananas, and blueberries). Ambience is just perfect, inside and on the back patio. Service for small parties is great (once, with a larger party, appeared that they couldn't keep up and servers were cranky as a result). No better place for breakfast in Lebanon County and beyond.

Delightful. Very cool inn with spacious rooms, friendly staff and great food. The breakfast was amazing. I am still telling all of my friends about the red, white and blue french toast. My coffee cup was always full. I highly recommend the Inn 422!

Like everyone else is saying the place is beautiful! We went on a slow day so the service wasn't too bad. BTW, we only had lunch on a Saturday. The food was good, sorry I can't really remember what we had beside soup and sandwich combos. I had the lobster bisque - awesome. My husband had the french onion soup - great! The drink were strong. Other than that we did plan on returning.

I went with my parents to Inn 422 at the recommendation of a good friend from high school who lives in Annville, and we were not disappointed. In fact, not only did we have an incredible culinary experience, the atmosphere was akin to a tropical vacation. We sat out on the patio adorned with tasteful decorations and tiki torches along the water. I ordered the Key West grouper (blackened) with fresh lump crab meat on top finished with a lime citron sauce. I also had a grilled Caesar salad that was grilled to perfection with a delightful dressing. We all felt like we were on vacation. It was great to meet the owner/chef and get to know him a little bit. Looking forward to returning to this gem in the Annville area.

While the food at Inn 422 is good, I was appalled by the service. My fiance and I went to breakfast on a Sunday morning around 9 a.m. While there was a large party in the back, only a few tables had been seated out front. We were trying to get in and out in 45-ish minutes, which we thought would be feasible. Nope. We quickly learned that of the two servers working the front dining room, there was a "drinks" server and a "food" server. One of the servers came over and asked what we would like to drink, and I asked for a cup of coffee. We also asked if we could place our food orders. She told us that someone else would come to do that and walked away. Apparently, she only did drinks. The food person eventually came over and got our order, and I also asked her for a cup of coffee, as it had been about 5 minutes and the drinks person hadn't returned. The food person said that she would remind the drinks person. Our food came out about 10 minutes later, and the food server placed the food on the table and started to walk away. I politely called her back and pointed out that I had still not gotten any coffee. She said she would tell the drinks server, and walked away. About 5 minutes later, the drinks server walked around the dining room, gave me a cup of coffee, didn't say a word to either of us, and walked away. Our food was delicious (we each had french toast that we were unable to finish, due to the generous portion), but neither of the servers came back to check and see if we were satisfied or needed anything. I noticed at least one other patron get up and walk back to the kitchen area to ask for drink refills, as the servers were not paying any attention to them, either. We finished our meals and sat for about 10 minutes. No one came to ask if we were finished, how our meals were, or if we wanted anything else. My fiance had to chase one of the servers down in the kitchen so we could pay for our meals and leave. I would return to Inn 422 for another meal, but only if I can devote 2+ hours to the occasion.
