Always stop here when traveling north out of Lancaster county and if it is time to eat. Portions are always huge, food is steaming hot and menu is varied. I do think they have the best breakfast in central Pennsylvania. Do yourself a favor, if you are traveling by here stop by. Even if it is for a piece of our and coffee. One last comment. Dalton is a great waiter. So courteous and accommodating.

This place has the best breakfast, I went to the diner with my 6 yr old nephew and we were greeted right away and we sat at the counter bar area , right away someone asked us what would we like , the food was great . fast and friendly atmosphere , I will definitely be going back again .

Me and the family love coming here as we can all eat for around 35 to 40 dollars and don't have to cook. However the menu is all stuff you can make at home easily, as long as you know how to cook. Kind of weird that every server is wearing nursing scrubs. I would prefer to see uniforms with the name Heisey's on it. They should really take the mexican food i.e. Quesadillas off the menu as they are flavorless and bland. Can't beat the portion size for the money though. Although the pork and sauerkraut is fantastic, as is almost every soup. As one other reviewer already said if you want larger portion without higher prices this is your place. We will be back time and time again, but I'll skip the Mexican food this time.

Great diner, filled with locals which is always a good sign. I had a grilled cheese with tomato, my wife had a club sandwich, both were excellent. The wait staff was friendly and knowledgeable about their food. Had one of the best slices of Apple and Rhubarb pie I've ever had in my life.

Heisey's is good, old fashioned good food and fun, friendly staff... and the best chicken rivel soup around! Kids should try the fried hotdog octopus!!!

Standard homestyke cooking. Decent food but not great. Very inexpensive given the slightly larger than normal portion sizes. Very cheap beer as well. If you are looking for a filling but cheap meal I would recommend this place.

My family and I have come here often. The food and service have been great. They have amazing desserts and soups. Prices are good for the amount of food you get. We have only had one problem. There is a gentleman server who is on the morning staff. I don't know his name but he is the only male server in the mornings. We sat in his section twice. He is not the most pleasant. The 2nd time is the last time we got service from him. We REFUSE to sit in his section ever again. The reason: My husband and I both ordered a sausage, egg and cheese bagel. Got them in a timely manner, ate and were happy. Until we got the check. It cost more than what the menu stated. The reason: The server ordered it with double egg. We DID NOT order double egg. It didnt look like double egg. When we checked out I said to him that we didn't order double egg! His response was "oh, you didn't want double egg?" I said no, I never said a thing about double egg. When he corrected the check he was a jerk about it. Like it was our fault. Very shady guy! We still enjoy going there but refuse to sit in his area. And no matter who the server is, we ALWAYS make sure our check is 100% correct.

I feel as if they fear spices. All the food has a similar taste and tends to be yellow in color. The service is Friendly and potentially over-worked. This is a small town diner that tends to cater to regular locals. If your goal is large portions over taste, this it the place.

People who know me, know I am a diner guy. This place is a diner's guy idea of a cool place. Home style food, with that Pennsylvania Dutch flair; a bar with real bear (not Bud Lite but Yuengling) on draft. A highly-competent young waiter and a rare dessert for me because who can pass up dessert at a diner. Left happy.

If you like diners, this is great! I really enjoyed the mozzerella sticks. They weren't the average frozen ones. The waitress was very friendly, personable, and made sure I had everything I needed. I also had the veggie wrap, which was very good. Their desserts looked great too, well what was left of them. Supposedly the desserts are so good that they run out. I had a sticky bun, which was okay, but I wish they hadn't run out of the chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting!

This is an interesting place. We walked into the diner and went around to the back part of the diner which looks different but apparently it's the same place. I guess it's the same menu and kitchen just larger tables. Anyways, we went on a Wednesday and it was pretty busy and we had a party of 7. Once seated we got our menus and it was pretty big. Most of us ordered off the specials page. I order a broccoli and cheese stuffed chicken breast with cheese sauce with potato cakes and an ambrosia salad. The service wasn't very great. I guess since it was a Wednesday, there was only 2 waitresses and it was busy. Our drinks and food took awhile to get to our table. The food was okay, my chicken was a bit dry and the cheese sauce was more like a cream sauce. The potato cakes were delicious and the ambrosia salad was okay. I tasted the cream of potato soup and it was really good; it was very creamy. The chicken parmesan was good, but I personally thought the filling was not good. Others at our table thought it was great, so that is more of a personal opinion. I have only been here once, but the others in my party have been there quite often and love it. So I guess I came on one of their off days.
