Chinese Cuisine
The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.

I took my two daughters there for dinner last night after reading all of the positive reviews. It was everything all of the 4-5 star reviewers said. Very nicely decorated, small and intimate. This was the best service I've ever had in a "strip mall" restaurant. They go above and beyond and are very attentive without being intrusive. Food was amazing (I got the papaya shrimp). But the thing that blew my mind was that we forgot and left our bagged leftovers on the table (like I always do). We get in the car and start to pull out, and the owner comes out of the restaurant, flags us down and gives us our food!! That has never ONCE happened to me! They take care in everything they do. If you want to have a great dining experience and still not go over $50 for 3 people, you have to check them out. There's a reason they've been around 23 years. You can tell they truly enjoy running their restaurant and pleasing their customers.

I am normally very leery about eating at strip mall Chinese restaurants but I was surprised the minute I walked in the door the gentleman that greeted me was so happy and joyful I really wish I could have eaten lunch inside the restaurant just for the ambiance but I had placed an order to go the portions were kind of small but the food was outstanding in flavor and taste I wish I lived here because I'd be coming here pretty often for Chinese

Super friendly staff, nice decoration (not overdone, relaxed, feel good space). Impeccable attention to diners, lots of nice freebies (pickled veggie, chips, egg roll with meal, etc.), and good food. It's not the best Chinese I have ever had but it's very solid, everything I have ever had was fresh and well prepared, using mostly all natural ingredients, low sodium and healthy. Will definitely be a regular.

We've been enjoying Yantze for the last 17 years and they NEVER disappoint. The only disappointment is when you eat at other Chinese restaurants. Yantze pretty much spoils you with their outstanding cuisine and friendly service. While we usually get take out, we do like to sit by the fish pond from time to time. Everything on the menu is first rate and the family that owns the restaurant goes out of their way to make sure you have the best experience possible.

Among starters, the oolong tea was good. The appetizers were not tasty. The steamed veg dumplings were rather bland and their 'Chinese pizza' lacked flavor - it was quite similar to a plain Indian paratha flatbread. The main course was delicious - these guys know how to treat tofu. The portion size for the entrees was a bit small, they charge $1 for brown rice (boo!). I don't live anywhere near this place, but if I came back I would look elsewhere to satisfy a Chinese food craving.

Far superior to your average Chinese takeout. We've been ordering from Yantze for years and are never disappointed. The real treat, however, is eating at Yantze. The restaurant is small and intimate. The delicately placed lighting, mirrors, and waterfall lend a beautiful, romantic ambiance. Along with the soft music playing overhead I always feel especially relaxed. The service is impeccable. From the moment you are seated your water glass is never empty. You are set up with complimentary appetizers and a stone upon which your chopsticks lay. The servers are extremely polite and you truly feel catered to. To start, you will have fried noodles and duck sauce, a small pot of tea, and a serving of sweet marinated cucumbers (which are so delicious, I always ask for more). The menu has all the traditional Chinese dishes but it's the specials that stand out; I almost always follow a cup of wonton soup with a special. The last time I went I had the mango steak which was superb. The portions are large and are served on what appears to be fine china (I have no idea if it actually is... point is, it looks nice!) Dessert is, again, complimentary, consisting of a slice of melon and a chocolate covered fortune cookie. The perfect amount of sweetness to top off your meal. Bottom line - Go to Yantze the next time you have a craving for Chinese. You won't want to eat anywhere with the word "Panda" in it ever again.

I was looking for a Chinese restaurant so thank you Yelp. Chicken and cashews was delicious with a brown garlic sauce. They gave you about only a cup of rice with your entree so a bigger portion would be nice! Service was exceptional, everyone was checking on us, even the owner.

Went here for the first time tonight. The good was delicious and the staff was extremely friendly. They were very attentive, but not in an annoying way. The tea served with our meal was lovely and the pickled cucumbers were so tasty! I will most definitely be coming here again.

Ladies and gentlemen you have just found the asian cuisine that will ruin you for all other Chinese food. My wife and I go all the time. The owners and wait staff know us and greet us by name when we come by. I have had parties here and romantic dinners here it is my hands down favorite for asian food. So lets talk food. My wife took me here years ago and told me to try out their crab and cream cheese wontons in a sweet plum sauce. I openly wept at how good they were. My wife gets the vegetable lo mein with a little extra spice and the vegetable spring rolls. She adores them. I get their Shanghai wonton soup to start which is a bit spicer but is so flavorful my mouth is watering just talking about it. Let cut to the chase on this one. Have you ever gotten Chinese take out and wondered what it would be like if were done well by professionals? Look no further. This place is small ad can only seat a couple dozen people but it is the best kept secret in the area. If you don't try it instead of your regular Chinese food dives then you are doing yourself a disservice. Friendly atmosphere, great food, super attentive waitstaff and never too crowded for a seat. You will thank me after your meal here. And don't be shy about crying over the wontons, they'll tell you they have seen it happen before ;)

This is a very small restaurant with a super cute interior. Service is awesome and the food we had was quite good, but smaller portions than we had hoped for. I really do have to comment again that the service is awesome and makes this place well-worth at least one visit.

Been coming here for 20 years. You can't find any other restaurant with owners that are always there and as attentive. Go here mainly because the owners really care about your experience
(4)Scott S.
Hands down the best Chinese food in the area, with a wonderful staff and beautiful atmosphere. My wife and I come here on dates as often as we can! I promise that you'll love it!
(5)Ritika K.
This is one of the nicest chinese restaurant that I have ever been to. The decor is very nicely done. It is very welcoming and cozy. Food and service are good too. I ordered Yantze chicken and Shanghai wonton soup and I loved it. The food is not over the top spicy or oily. They serve complimentary tea, fried noodles with sauce and marinated cucumber. It is not a typical chinese take out. It is more like gourmet, high quality chinese food. They serve complimentary dessert too which consists of a slice of melon, chocolate covered fortune cookie and a little piece of mint chocolate.

This is hands down the best place for takeout in the Lansdale/Hatfield area. We've lived here for over 2 years now and tried 6-7 other places that don't even compare. I always temper my expectations when it comes to Chinese takeout and wait until I've tried a place at least two or three times until I can assume consistent good food because Chinese can be so hit or miss. This is our 4th time and every time has been excellent! We haven't sat down inside yet but this is also not just a takeout place with tables that nobody sits at. It looks really nice and clean inside. Can't wait to eat in soon!

I found Yantza via the GF Philly app and was thrilled that GF Chinese food existed near me, with delivery service no less! So, after a long week I decided to give it a try! I called and the woman who answered the phone was very nice. I ordered the Singapore noodles; she let me know that the pork is marinated in a bit of soy sauce which is not GF. I was thrilled that she was knowledgeable and thoughful enough to mention that. They quoted 30-45 min delivery time and were there within 30 minutes. The food was great, very tasty, still hot and good portion. I gave 4 stars because the food is a little on the pricey side for what you get. But overall, a great experience with food and service....and it's pretty hard to impress me when it comes to delivery!

Amazing!! Never disappointed! Yantze is the best chinese food ever! All my friends want to come here for their birthday dinners! Love the Crab Wontons! Love everything! The best Chinese Food I've ever had. Ever. Truly authentic, I can't wait to go back again and again. Service was quick, super polite & pleasant, no complaints. Love the atmosphere!

This place has spoiled me so much that I can't even say anything bad about it. Few Chinese restaurants I've tried can compete. The ambiance of the place is quite nice, very peaceful. Great food for Lansdale. Can I just say that the place sells candied kumquats. Where else could you readily get those?
(4)Henry B.
I was deeply disappointed in our take out order this evening. First, I think you forgot our order because I waited an inordinately long time. OK stuff happens, I'm retired and refuse to hurry anymore. Secondly, the Moo Shu Pork was unacceptable. Lots and lots of cabbage, a few tiny pieces of egg, a few pieces of water chestnuts, and very few pieces of shredded pork. What happened? We expect you set the standard for our local Chinese restaurants. Did we just order the wrong thing? Where do we go now? Hank Bowen

My friends and I just enjoyed an OUTSTANDING meal . The ambience is fantastic. The food is really delicious. The service was stellar. It's very clean. Just great!!!! I recommend to all!!!
(5)Kunal P.
In the land of fast chinese take out and buffet, this was a welcome change with a very warm atmosphere. The restaurant is pretty small. Our food was a bit over cooked. But, other than that, I loved it. Will try it out again. The serving size could have been a bit larger as well, for the price.
(3)Melissa T.
I love this place. My family and I have been meeting here for years and we always leave happy. The staff is very friendly and the food is amazng. I would higly recommended this to anyone.
(5)Priyanka T.
I love this place. Great vibe and good food. Customer service is great there as well.
(5)Amy S.
The best Chinese food I have ever had! The service is wonderful and everyone there is so friendly and helpful and will explain anything you want on the menu. Also the restaurant is unbelievably clean! Also would be a nice place for a romantic dinner but without the expensive price. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because there is no more and it is not byob also the dessert menu is very limited only ice cream.
(4)Jeff B.
Yangtze is a wonderful byob gem. The menu is fairly set and standard but what they do they definitely do well. The peking duck is outstanding for the suburbs and they do a very nice job hand preparing the pancakes table side. At $31 for a generous serving it is a great value and very delicious. Lunch specials are all solid and much more upscale than the typical burb chinese. Ruby the owner has been there for years and is very conscientious and carrying on her father's legacy excellently. Highly recommended.
(4)Peter M.
Surprising family feel, fresh food, clean restaurant, incredible service...explored some not-so-usual plates... like chow fun house and plum chicken. Who knew? I'll be back. (Use Schwarzenegger voice here).

Absolutely love this place! Was introduced by a co-worker as a nice place for lunch, but went there many times for dinner as well. Beautiful, small, intimate space, super friendly staff, prompt service and an overall great experience. Sadly, I moved from the area so I haven't had the chance to stop in lately!
(4)Ryan K.
Great little place to eat. The food is quite good. Prices are reasonable. But the service is superior. Highly recommended...!!
(5)John R.
Yantze is a combination of great service and great food. The waiters were very prompt and polite. The food was well above your typical Chinese cuisine. The favors are bold and delicious. Lastly, their specials are always a good choice. Check this place out. You may like it.
(4)Steven B.
Nice intimate atmosphere. Great service. Food well above average. We loved this place on a date night.
(5)J S.
We are totally in love with Yantze. I have been going here since for as long as I can remember and I can't ever recall a time where their food or service was anything but stellar. The small restaurant is absolutely charming, the food is fresh and yummy. They are priced well for their menu. When you are seated, you receive complimentary hot tea and crispy noodles. After your meal they give you cool fruit, chocolate covered fortune cookies and little mint chocolates to go. Overall, great ambiance, a winning staff and amazing Chinese food!
(4)Brinda J.
Fried rice was very good. Of course one can't base amazing Chinese on just fried rice. But very good for Lansdale.
(4)Deborah R.
Paul and Ruby and their team at Yantze Chinese Gourmet are the BEST. THe food is always delicious and the service is excellent. It's a beautiful space with mirrors and relaxing music, glittering lights and festive decorations for every year and season. The entire place just feels good and it is an excellent place for lunch or dinner. Intimate booths, small tables and smiling staff fill water glasses constantly, anticipate your needs and serve excellent dishes. Their annual Chinese New Year banquet is coming up. Reservations required and they sell out every year. Enjoy. Relish the relaxation and the culinary pleasures.

What's not to love about Yantze? Paul and Ruby are the sweetest people on the planet. The restaurant is very small, but it's intimate with beautiful decorations. There's always some kind of delicious special, and they'll customize your meal for you. Like it spicy? Let them know! I don't recommend the lo mein or any of that; if you want regular old crappy chinese takeout, go to Panda Garden. If you're looking for real food, check out Yantze. My favorite? Crabmeat wontons. They are AMAZING.
(5)Jennifer I.
I've been looking for a decent Chinese restaurant in Lansdale for about two months now. I didn't realize my search would be so difficult. So far Yantze tops my list though. I was quite impressed that they had Chinese broccoli on their menu. Most neighborhood Chinese restaurants don't. We ordered the following: Shrimp fried rice - A little softer in texture than I'd like but the flavors were pretty good House fried rice - Same as above Chicken lo mein - I really liked their lo mein. It was even better heating it up the next day. Sauteed Chinese broccoli - Very good. It will definitely be a repeat for next time. I think I've found a keeper for take-out. My husband, who picked it up,.told me that the restaurant looked really nice for those who wanted to eat in.

Quite a gem in the middle of a shopping center, beautiful decor shocked it only seated 40. Clean clean clean. That is the good stuff. The food is over sauced, very heavy on soy. Items ordered: lo mein couldn't eat it too much soy too much salt; the appetizer ribs were excellent; the pan fried dumplings were good very normal; main course was the cod special came with fried rice. The rice was too normal nothing special; the cod was the thinnest I've ever seen I would say more flounder or tilapia. My idea of cod is thick, meaty, large flaking. This "cod" was nearly flat teeny flakes no meatiness at all to it again heavily sauced. Service was excellent to point of overdone way too many staff members constantly haunting the limited aisle space. It's clean. Good people. Good service. Comfortable and well appointed. Been there, ate there, I"m done. Would love to see a cleaner palate

Nice people, horrible food. Ambiance and very pleasant folks, but the non-traditional Chinese menu and the food that was served were a true disappointment. The hot-n-sour soup broth tasted as though it came straight out of a Franco-American beef gravy can. The PuPu platter had only two edible items; the shrimp toast and the spring roll. The ribs, the dogmeat on a skewer, the over-done chicken wings .. all were nasty. The "special" shrimp w papaya covered w coconut sauce was sad with dry smelly shrimp mixed in w a couple of fresh ones. Summary: Very pleasant people, good service, high prices and really poor food quality. Who could find this place acceptable?

Yantze is one of the best Chinese places around. I've been going there for over 9 years now. From going in and sitting down for a nice meal to taking home dinner for the family I have been very impressed with most, if not 95% of their meals. That being said, right now I am not going to Yantze because of an issue over a take out meal. I was told a price of 9.95 and when I got there the actual price was 12.95. When I asked to pay the price given over the phone, they would not honor the price of 9.95. I was very disappointed because they are so courteous and wonderful when it comes to service in their restaurant. Overall they are a good meal and wonderful place to eat. But they lose a star for not being good at customer service when they make an error.
(4)Steven S.
one of the best chinese restaurant period!. The owner is very nice, and since i'm working near this place, i went to this small restaurant quite frequent, the owner will greet you with ur name. The decor is fantastic, with small pool, good ambient light, clean table etc. The price is also good, you get apetizer, main course and ice cream. (if you decline the ice cream, they will give u a slice of cantaloupe instead).
(5)Lynn V.
Love this place.Always a good meal

We were in a Chinese take out rut and determined to find something new so we tried Yantze. The Orange Scallops were black, overcooked, rubbery, inedible and completely devoid of any orange color or taste. The Chicken Low Mien, when overturned into a bowl revealed the bottom to be an oil soaked soft lump of noodles. The Sesame Chicken was gelatinous and floating in a puddle of inadequately drained broccoli. Bland fried rice made from overcooked rice, and a sampler of dumplings that was obviously defrosted and steamed just before placing in the container. The Egg Foo Yong was acceptable however the brown sauce had a tart almost rancid taste to it. The Singapore noodles were, thankfully, actually good, although on the dry side, otherwise we would have been pretty hungry after this $75 experiment gone bad. How do we reconcile this entirely bad experience with the prior reviews? We don't ... we just continue the search.
