I just was walking around looking for a nice cafe to sit down and get some work done while staying in Lancaster so I decided to walk into this place which looked pretty busy. I thought well if its this busy, I don't know how much work I could actually get done. When I walked through the doors, I noticed that the bar was busy and only 4 of the 12 tables were busy when a man walked up from his breakfast, who I'm assuming is the owner, and asked me if he could help me. I said, well sir, I'm trying to find a place where I can have a coffee and plug in my computer to get some work done so he looked below a couple of tables and brought me to an appropriate table. I thought to myself that this guy is going out of his way and interrupting his breakfast to help me, I had better get on YELP and let people know of the outstanding service here. The waitress Jan immediately arrived as I sat and brought a cup of coffee and asked if I would also like to look at the menu. I didn't even order the coffee, maybe she read my mind or maybe the owner gave her a hand signal to do so, but I was impressed anyhow. He also gave me the password for their wifi so I can work. Then I asked for advice on what to order and Jan helped me find something that is now happily sitting in my tummy as I write this review. If you happen to be visiting downtown Lancaster area, give this place a try, the lighting is a little dark, but their hospitality makes this place seem brighter than the day light outside.

Great local place with a great staff. Food was ok - nothing to write home about but better than some chain. This is the kind of place locals go to hang out which was evidenced by the drunks at the bar at 1130. Nice

There is a lot to be said for poor service creating an unpleasant experience, no matter how moderately okay the food and drinks are. The bar tending staff at this restaurant are inconceivably rude and unkempt. They ignore anyone who does not look like they will be on all fours later on in the evening, pour drinks in FILTHY glasses and are antagonistic to anyone even slightly needing anything. They collectively have ruined any chance Yorgo's has to be a hot spot in Lancaster. Food and drinks are decent, they do have a large selection of flavors for hot wings if that is your thing....but they are 100% off of my list of places I enjoy visiting in Lancaster after 4 terrible experiences in a row. I would not judge harshly on one experience, but after this many I am done. Oh yeah, and don't bother attempting to inform the owner of your extremely caustic experience, he will just accuse you of being "drunk" even though you have just walked through the door. Screw this place.

Had a great time at Yorgo's back in October for a visit to see friends. The 81 different flavors of wings is something I had never seen before. I went with the spicy nacho and they were delicious. We all enjoyed the $5 pitchers of Yuengling that were on specials. The walls were scattered with other solid deals available throughout the week. The interior kind of reminded me of your typical corner bar back in the 70's and 80's, which I absolutely loved. Definitely hope to be back one day.

Been meaning to try this place for years, but always forgot and went to old favorites. Last night all the old favorites were full and stopped in here. The jerk chicken salad, wings and turkey wrap were all a hit, as were the waffle fries with cheese. Service was good and friendly, prices were reasonable. Crowd was loud and it was hard to have a conversation.

The best Greek food in town! It's homemade and the real deal. Great beers and more wing flavors than anywhere I've ever been. Also a great spot to watch hockey.

My wife and I had drinks and quesadillas at an outside table. Margaritas were good. Quesadilla was not. Our server was nice and attentive. A lot of strange people hovering around outside.

Loved the service and the bartenders. First visit, my boyfriend and I were in the mood for drinks with some food. He ended up ordering lamb chops to try since he was hungrier than I was, and some wings. I ordered fried calamari to munch on while I drank. The lamb chops were overcooked, but not enough to complain about. However, when the bartender came over to check on us and could tell he wasn't 100% happy with the food, he explained that the chops were a bit burnt on the outside and also a little dry inside, she immediately called over the manager and they took it right off the bill for us. Awesome, since we weren't unhappy enough with them to make a fuss. (Also, this was a weeknight since that's the only time we have off, and it wasn't very busy inside at all.) On the weekends, they have security guys at the door to check your ID immediately upon entering, and also a security guy at the bathroom doors. The place isn't very big at all, but it gets BUSY on the weekends, so this was fantastic to see that they really care about keeping the establishment respectable. However, they keep the music extremely loud--almost like at night clubs. If you're planning on having a real conversation, don't bother. If you just want to chit-chat and drink, this place is alright. Overall, I really like this place. Service is quick, even when they're busy, and any complaints or concerns you might have are resolved quickly.

It's a pretty good place to stop by for food late at night on a Sunday! I got the gyro plate and it was okay. I wouldn't make this place I'd go to during the day- only for late night food when everywhere else is closed. The food service was a bit questionable seeing that I ordered an appetizer but never got it and let it go. We also weren't tended very well in terms of being checked on - waited for 20 minutes for water while we were eating wings. Had it been busy, I would not have cared, but it was the fact that it was a Sunday and it was pretty empty. We ordered the wings here too which I recommend in terms of sauce choice- they had a pretty good selection for a bar As a bar, it's pretty chill

I don't get this place. It must the location because it's not the food, ambience or service. It really has nothing going for it, at least that I can find. The last time I was there, for lunch, I, literally, stood in the middle of an empty restaurant, downtown, at lunch, and no one came out into the main room to see if anyone wanted anything. We left because, well, there was no way to order. The other times I've been there the drinks are tedious, the food is average and greasy and the service is, at best, indifferent. Lots of better choices. Make one.

Yorgos is one of my go-to places when I am in Lancaster, PA because it seems like it is always open, and I have never had a problem with service or atmosphere. I typically hit Yorgos for lunch on a Wednesday after I get into town. The place is dimly lit with tables situated for private conversation and good beer. I have tried various dishes, but their Greek food is the best. On my most recent trip, I was trying to eat more healthy, and I ordered the Greek Village (or something close to it) Salad, and I was pleasantly surprised by the freshness of the vegetables and the overall blend of flavors. My table also ordered the appetizer sampler, which came with chicken tenders that were well breaded and cooked well. The experience was truly what I have come to expect from Yorgos, so I left happy. I have also had the pleasure of experiencing the Yorgos of night. At some point, Yorgos becomes a college bar with drink specials and other college shenanigans, but it maintains its great service and waitstaff. If you go at night, do prepare for standing room only and great conversations with strangers. Unlike a bar in a big city, people here are friendly and ready to talk, especially if you are not a local. The other benefit is that Yorgos is open until 2pm, making it the bar open latest I have found in Lancaster.

Got the Greek platter which included a gyro, rice, and Greek salad. Ate it all. Gyro was a big sandwich and hot on the inside. Hubby got the gyro and fries and liked it. Service was very good.

If you want Greek food, don't bother. The pastitsio and moussaka are flavorless, and the eggplant is stringy and overcooked. I don't even know how it's possible to make Greek food bland, but they manage. There are lots of bottled drink options, but only one cider (get with the times, guys). The cocktails are really good, though. Tons of wing choices, and the crispy skin on them was the only reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1 star. The music fluctuates drastically all night, from fun bar-appropriate to random depressing slow songs. The sound system glitches sometimes too, which can cause a very loud noise. Servers are kind and attentive. If you come for wings and cocktails, ask to sit away from the door. The constant in-and-out of the smokers and customers makes for a chilly evening.

Excellent food had the lamb chops off the charts best kept secret! Better than what I get in some San Francisco Restaurants! Ate there again last night and had the chicken with goat cheese and again phenomenal! Best place in Lancaster and beats most in San Francisco!

Another solid offering that can be found in the heart of Lancaster City. Like most local watering holes in the county, this spot aims to make a name for itself via its daily specials. And they pretty much do a great job with the deals they offer ($3 Fireball shot Fridays?!), not that the normally priced libations and cuisine isn't already quite the bargain. If there's anything this place can hang its hat on, it's the wings. No, they are not the best wings I've ever had, but the laundry list of interesting and unique flavors is pretty damn impressive. They've got some good old standbys (i.e. variations on heat: mild-nuclear, BBQ), as well as some craziness (Asian ginger sesame, sweet chipotle mango, what the what?!). So I appreciate the craziness. All in all, they have 81 flavors, and at first glance they all look like they make sense. I've had the Flaming 151 (classic wings flambeed/torched with some Bacardi 151), garlic honey, and BBQ. All tasty. Just a few more trips and I'll be through the whole list, huh??? And a pitcher of lager (to share, or not...) goes great to wash everything down. Definitely a place to go in you're in the mood for wings, or if you just wanna watch the game with some friends on a chill evening and put back a beer or a few, this place does the job just fine.

We came in for breakfast and loved the cheap prices, big plus for us. The food was okay because everything came out almost chilly. As if it was just sort of reheated, it was warm enough but just strange. I told my husband maybe the cook can nor feel heat anymore due to burned fingers... maybe? We still ate most of the meal so it was not that bad. So if you need a place that is not crowed for breakfast and is cheap...check her out!

I came late on a Friday night so I didn't even realize this is a restaurant by day. I also would not have known that there is a DJ and dancing downstairs had my friend not told me. Downstairs is crowded, young, and eclectic. Not somewhere I would go by myself, but if you are downtown and looking for adventure stop in.

The food is so, so good here. They have a monster menu with a ton of specialty burgers and I think the wing sauce menu has 80 sauces. After dark, it turns into a dance club...so go or don't go according to your crowd choice. The staff is always on point and friendly. I go here about once every week or every two weeks.

Firstly, the service was good, attentive, and kind. I came on "taco Tuesday." The tacos were terrible, stale shells, poor ingredients. I'm certain Taco Bell would be remarkable in comparison. The margarita I had was also gross. This place is a dumpster.

Worst place I've ever been to in the city. Went with a friend and was sitting at the end of the bar having a couple of drinks. The bartender cut my friend and I after two drinks. Why? We were not talking loudly, not starting any type of fights, not swearing and most certainly were not visibly intoxicated. Management and bar tenders were extremely rude to my friend and I for no reason at all. I'll never return and have told many about this experience. Hoping this place shuts down as they have horrific business practices. Never again!

4 stars for the burgers and fries, 1 star for the service. I probably should have been suspicious when it was the only place in the area not on a wait. Food: The burgers were well cooked and flavorful. We paid an extra 1.50 for a small sampling of fries, but what was there was hot, crispy and delicious. Hey, it left room for us to have a delicious cupcake from Lancaster cupcakes down the block. Service: Pretty much awful. After 5 minutes of sitting without being acknowledged, the nice older Greek woman asked what appeared to be a bar runner to get our drinks. He took both our drink order and meal order and I saw him pass it off to another server. It took almost another 10 minutes for her to bring us our drinks while the other guy was talking and joking with his coworkers. Our actual server seemed to hate her life and showed no interest in pretending to be friendly. When we stepped outside we exclaimed "At least the food was decent." The couple who had exited right before us laughed and said, "yeah, that service left something to be desired didn't it?"

Don't know Lancaster all that well, and picked this place almost at random for lunch. I wouldn't say the service is rude, but it also isn't what you would expect at a chain restaurant where the wait staff are trained to treat you like royalty in order to get tips. This felt more like it was family owned and run. They were competent and I felt like they cared about us as customers, they just weren't kissing up for tips. As far as the food, it was pretty average. I got the mushroom burger, and it wasn't the worst burger I've had, but definitely wasn't anything special. The chips it came with tasted like they were right out of a cheap corner store bag, and the coleslaw was on the wet/runny side. Also pretty disappointed with the beer selection. Seems like a city that's close to so many breweries should have bars with a better beer selection. If it's about cost, I'd much rather get a bottom-of-the-line beer from Lancaster Brewing Co. than a Bud Light. To their credit, they did have one beer from a local(ish) brewery on tap. On the bright side, it wasn't particularly expensive. However, if you're looking for good food and drink, and are willing to spend a bit more on it, skip this place.

Meh, Yorgos is a new greek place in the former zimmermans restaurant location. I saw that its open so I thought Id check it out.. ---------- FOOD: Its kind of heavily Greek, so vegetarian stuff is out. I ended up getting a house salad because thats the only thing on the menu that doesnt have meat in it. It was good tho. DECOR: Its a nice little place. Not tons of space tho. On the down side, it kind of seems like itll be more of a local watering hole than restaurant in a few years. Bar, football on tv, drunks lounging around.. Not so great for kids I guess.. SERVICE: Good. The bartender popped over pretty quick. I also got my salad in reasonable time. ---------- FINAL THOUGHTS: I probably wont go back. 1. Theres not much for me to eat. 2. Its not my kind of place..

What a great little place. Came here for brunch while I was in Lancaster for a wedding. We had several things on the breakfast menu, all were awesome. I had chipped beef on rye toast for the first time in my life. It was freaking amazing. The French toast, Belgium waffles, and coffee were also very good. We ordered coffee and 5 breakfast entrees and the bill was only $32. Amazing. Wish I could eat this well for this cheap in NYC

I just spent 5 days at a conference in Lancaster and had an unexpectedly great time because we were lucky enough to stumble on Yorgo's the first night we were there. The drinks are affordable and good and their specials are cheap and interesting (for e.g. daily half price happy hour for all alcohol, $6 pitchers of lager on sat. nights, $4 dozen wings on mon. nts.). The atmosphere is great, and while some late nights the crowd can tilt young, (like sat. nt when there's a dj), we still fit in and had a blast. There's a jukebox with everything from "Like a G6" to Journey's "when the lights go down in the city" And, yes, that is a combination you just might hear; ) There are really two things that make Yorgo's a phenomenal place to stop: first and foremost, the food is out of this world-- everything the owner's wife makes is simply mouthwateringly delicious, and presented well, too (including their breakfast-- did I mention we might have spent almost as much time there as in seminars?). And I tried everything everyone ate at almost every meal (did i mention i like to eat?). Greek specials are definitely recommended, also their huuuuuge salads(woohoo!) any of the roasted turkey entrees and sandwiches (fresh!), and their bar food (like chicken fingers, wings and waffle fries, yay!). Sat nights are steak nights, and the prices were definitely right... The second reason is the people you'll meet there, both the crowd and especially the staff. Each time we went there was a random mix of locals and foreigners (like us) who were almost all friendly and interesting. The staff is friendly, funny, and extrememly attentive-- even at a table outside they check up on you often enough to rarely make you wait more than a minute or two for whatever you need. I wish this place were in Philadelphia because I would definitely make it a homebase. As it is, they just might have had delicous enough baja chipotle and spicy bbq wings to make me go back to Lancaster once in a while.

We hit this place late one evening for drinks. We found a college aged crowd with plenty of LOUD music. I was confused...they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, too?!?! It's hard to imagine with the atmosphere we witnessed that night. I can only assume that it must undergo some incredible transformation through the course of the day.

Friendly waitress and good food! Hummus and pita was delicious as was the cranberry and walnut salad. Pork Slovaki was also tasty! We also came back for breakfast and got a tasty omlet- although it was a bit slow then since the restaurant was crowded.

It's an okay bar. Drink specials may be the best thing going for the place. Our waitress made several mistakes with orders, and we just had a party of 5 ordering straight off the menu. I found the food greasy and bland. If you want Greek just go up the street to Spyro's instead.

Hmm... Where to begin... My BF and I ended up eating here one late afternoon (we had planned on going to Isaac's, but it was closed for renovations). When we first walked in it seemed a bit strange, as if the tables shouldn't be there, I was almost unsure if they served food. The service was lackluster and a bit slow. The food not very exciting or very good, to be quite honest.

Make one.

No wonder no one goes here. Bad service, food is messed up, and the wait is unbelievable. Bathroom is clutch though. Final conclusion. Never go here. AWFUL

5 star service + 1 star food = 2 stars. Run! The wait person was a real sweetheart. Salmon sandwich was bland. Greek food -not!

Best bar in Lancaster! I had a blast there and I will come back to Lancaster just to go to Yorgos for some boneless wings and fun. Thanks for the great times.

I was here for breakfast with a friend. Got an egg white omelette. It was fine. The service was good. I got a latte, too, and it was good. The service was quick. I would come back for breakfast.

Great local place with a great staff. Food was ok - nothing to write home about but better than some chain. This is the kind of place locals go to hang out which was evidenced by the drunks at the bar at 1130. Nice
