I adore this restaurant. I visit La Cocina for both lunch and for dinner take-out and have never had a bite of their food that wasn't delicious. The staff do a good job of explaining combo options and describing the different types of food, and are very friendly. The line at lunchtime is often long, but it moves quickly. Serving portions are more than generous. My recommendation: the bone-in chicken with rice and beans. But really, I've tried just about everything by now and you really cannot go wrong!

Great Spanish food and service.

Great Spanish food in the area. Big portions for a reasonable price. Restaurant feels authentic, more importantly, tastes authentic. Seems like it is frequented by locals, which is always a good sign. Nothing too special or fancy about the space, but the food is worth it. I usually get the rice, beans and pork, and it is spot on and consistent every time. Good for take out too! Friendly staff!

This place has the best Spanish food in the Lancaster area, in my opinion. They serve such traditional delicacies as mangu, ox-tail, goat, and fried cheese. If you're a little less adventurous, the classic yellow rice with beans and a side of thin cut steak is amazing! Whether you're Puerto Rican, Dominican or a gringo like myself, this place has something for everyone. Hey, I've even seen some of our Lancaster's police officers having lunch here! That's how you know its good. :)

When they first opened a decade ago they were excellent. Unfortunately, success spoiled them. Once the owners changed so did the price, quality and portion. Very expensive for what you get.

Best Spanish food in town. My wife is Dominican and we frequent La Cocina a lot. Very authentic and delicious. The place is clean and inviting. The steak and yellow rice is the best. Good tostones too. You have to ask for them special, but they're made fresh.

Happened upon this place, decor is plain, clean. Ordered at the counter, all the choices were clearly explained, Dominican Spanish. The empanadas were "empty-panadas", not much inside, I liked the pork and vegetables and yellow rice. Would go again, tasty food.

My brothers and I always go here when my mom doesn't feel like making any food. It's got to be the best dominican food in all of downtown. I like how they always have a variety of foods, especially meats. The food is very well seasoned and not overly salted. Their beans are so good that you can eat them straight out of the bowl. Seating area is always clean and the atmosphere is calm and welcoming. My favorite thing about this restaurant is that they serve generous portions for a great price. Love going here!
