Had a great meal at the restaurant. Food was excellent as was the wine. Bob our waiter made for a most delightful dining experience. Had the salmon florentine with red potatoes and asparagus. Excellent dish! Since we were staying at the steamboat, it made the overall stay great! Breakfast on the other hand was just okay.

Stopped in for breakfast and as soon as we walked in the door I though we were in for an expensive breakfast! The place is so nice inside. We both had the build your own omelet. Comes with choice of toast & hash browns. I had cheddar and ham, my husband told the waitress he wanted everything on the list and add sausage and they charged NO EXTRA! Waitress was very nice as well.

This place was pretty good when you have good local ingredients it does not take much to make it perfect. I had the fire shrimp for appetizers and it was pretty good, mild on the heat but flavorful. I had the stuffed flounder as well and that was pretty decent and the vegetable sides were just great. Overall I was very pleased with the experience and I recommend to come here if you want good food from the area.

So the Hotel was great, see separate review. Huckleberry Tavern, not so much. We went for dinner on a Sunday night, party of 4. The Tavern was full but I really liked the ambiance so waited about 10 min for a table instead of going to the full restaurant which was pretty empty. Problem was the bartender was the only one waiting tables (there are 7-8 in the tavern and tending bar and bringing most food out. The waiters and waitresses at the restaurant presumably had nothing to do but did not come over to help. Maybe they are not allowed to. We ordered after about 15 min delay, ordered appys and dinner. All the food came out at once - the point of an appetizer is it comes out first. Alas, no. When we were done and the place emptied out, every table needed to be cleared of plates. Finally a front desk manager came out to help. The Bartender did the best he could, no major complaints, but he needed help and did not get it. Food was good, no complaints there.

Stopped in for dinner on a Sunday night and had a delightful experience. The service was good and friendly. The tomato bisque was excellent. Would go again.

We stayed at the Fulton Steamboat and dined here at least 3 or 4 times during our trip. The food was never mind blowing (Le Bernadin it is not) but the service was always top notch and REALLY catered to kids, which we could appreciate since we were there with two of them. As soon as you sit down, the little ones get crayons and some paper to draw on as well as lots of ooohs and ahhhs from the wait staff. The kids menu is extensive and you will sure find something to please everyone. As for the adult food, I enjoyed their meatloaf but wasn't really a fan of their seafood (crabcake or fish). They are also VERY generous with their wine pours.

Since we were staying at the Steamboat Inn on a short vacation, we opted to eat a few meals from Huckleberry's. We only ate one lunch at the restaurant and decided to carry out our other meals, as my 2 1/2 year old son was overly exhausted from busy days at the Strausburg Railroad and Dutch Wonderland. For lunch we stayed at the restaurant, being pleasantly suprised when they supplied my son with crayons and paper. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich and my husband ordered a burger. The food was good and satisfying, but not memorable. Over the course of our stay we realized that was the case with all our meals from Huckleberry's. The prices were reasonable, the food was well-cooked, filling, and some of the best of our vacation. Unfortunately that was not due to extraordinary food at Huckleberry's, but because most food places were buffet in nature or had terrible food. I would recommend eating here if you're in Lancaster for a good satisfying meal. It may not be the best of your life, but it very well may be the best of your vacation. And whatever you do, don't skip dessert...the whoopie pie sampler is actually quite divine. Other than the whoopee pie, don't expect any of the dishes to blow your mind. But they will leave you full and happy.

The family stayed at the Fulton (which was GREAT by the way) and decided to try this restaurant out as the front desk recommended it. We also got a discount since we were guests. Food was great. The soup and salad that came with our entrees were pretty bland however. The main courses definitely shined though! I had the crabcake dinner with potatoes and a bean medly. Delicious. My wife had a pasta dish which she raved about. Im not much of a drinker but she did say her martini was good also. Service was fast and attentive. Overall very impressed and absolutely reccomend!

Was looking for a kitschy experience, you know, eat dinner on a landlocked steamboat but ended up with a great affordable meal. Walked in without reservation, and wife and I were seated almost immediately. Started with house tomato bisque. Awesome! I had the Chicken Pot Pie, which was great. Wife had Mushroom Ravioli. Terrific! Will make this a mainstay for any future trip to Lancaster area.

The attraction at Huckleberry's seems to be having country-style breakfast served in a fancy, Victorian-style dining room that looks like it could have been on the Titanic, or perhaps a more modern (and slightly toned down) version of Downtown Abbey. I had an orange juice and the Steamboat Combo -- a mix of eggs, sausage, pancakes, hash brown, and toast. Overall it was not bad -- pretty much what I expected. The style here seems to be: take some decent ingredients and cook them in a slightly "rough-around-the-edges" kind of way to give it some rustic country charm. The sausage used decent quality meat and was slightly charred on the outside, and the orange juice tasted fresh with lots of pulp. You can also get these typical country breakfast items served family-style on a 3-tier rack, with plates of food elegantly stacked on top of each other -- it looks pretty darn cool, and if we had been hungrier we would have tried it! Out of the items we tried, our favorite was the Cinnamon-Swirled French Toast (pictured). The thick slices of toast have satisfying amounts of cinnamon, and are soft and chewy on the inside, slightly crispy on the outside. The fruit cup though was slightly disappointing -- some of the fruit was obviously canned. The food here is decent overall. When combined with the charming ambiance and friendly service, however, the overall experience is very enjoyable!

Was looking for something other than a smorgasbord in the Ronks area and decided to try Huckleberry's. Was in town for the Blue Man group concert. At 5:30 pm on a Saturday the place was busy. Surprisingly, there were no available seats in the restaurant without having a reservation. However my daughter and I were graciously directed to the lounge and seated immediately at a table. We both ordered the French Onion soup after seeing a few reviews mentioning how good it was. They were right!! Plenty of perfectly melted cheese, large tasty pieces of onion and crusty dark bread instead of just croutons. They next table ordered the same after seeing our soup. After a decent garden salad our entrees arrived. I had the Chicken Marsala which was very good. The Marsala sauce was very tasty and the chicken breast cooked perfectly. My daughter had the pot roast. It was amazing! (We traded bites lol) It was so tender and tasty. We both ended up liking the others entrees the best, so next time I'll be having the pot roast! Don't hesitate to try this place as it is so much better than the mediocre smorgasbord food nearby. Just remember to get a reservation as the lounge can be a bit noisy. (It did quiet down after happy hour ended though)

Unfortunately, I have to give the restaurant 1 star after our most recent visit. This is actually my first 1 star rating since I began using yelp. This is the 3rd year in a row that I've stayed at the Fulton Steamboat with my family and the Huckleberry Restaurant has been good in the past. However, it was just terrible this time. We ate here for both dinner and breakfast and had a terrible experience for both meals. Hence the 1 star. I ordered the filet mignon and crab cake combo for dinner. The filet came out very overcooked. I ordered it medium, but it came very well done. They cooked me another one, but when I bit into it it tasted horrible and actually tasted like the meat was foul. I asked someone else at my table to taste it to make sure it wasn't just me and they said it tasted like the meat was bad. Everyone else enjoyed their dished, so I don't know what happened with my steak. They took it off the bill and apologized. The next morning we ate here for breakfast. It was even worse this time because all 6 of us had a problem with the food. The eggs were still raw in someone's omelette. Some of our eggs were a little cold. The pancakes were awful. They were really thin and were hard to cut. They were like shoe leather. And the potatoes were not cooked enough. They were raw. We spoke to the manager at this point to tell him about our experience and he apologized. He said that they had changed breakfast chefs recently and that the head chef was not present during our previous night's dinner. He took some money off our bill and offered to do something for us if we came back for dinner that night, but we already had other reservations. We have a yearly tradition of staying at the Fulton Steamboat each winter, but we are very hesitant to eat here again. We'll give them another chance, but only after seeing if the food has gone back to their good standards.

Back for dinner as promised! (A bit later than I had planned, however.) My dining companion and I were seated promptly...at a table that had been cleared but not wiped. Why, when there are set tables all around us? I guess it was for waitress balance. Nonetheless, the hostess should have had us wait a minute rather than sitting at a table as it's being wiped down. This ain't no diner! (OK...get over it, Jerry.) My glass of Chardonnay was served promptly and was generous...not bad tasting, either. I chose the salmon Florentine and a small caesar salad which was an extra $1.95. OK...tell me why the extra charge??? It has three ingredients: romaine lettuce, croutons, and dressing (which was a bit over-applied). My dining companion's house salad had tomato, radishes, julienned carrots, etc. He should have been charged more! (OK, again, Jerry! Settle!!!) The salmon was a tad overcooked but covered nicely with a crab/spinach sauce. Very tasty. My red potatoes were a bit under cooked and the green beens were fresh and basically blanched. No dessert for me. My dining companion had two generously-portioned crab cakes which he said were excellent. He also had the same accompaniments. This is definitely a place worth visiting but with all the fine restaurants on the west side of town...I wouldn't make a special trip. Their food and service seems to always just miss the mark which is a shame, It all comes down to the details! I've dropped the rating one star because of this. No more benefit of the doubt!

Wanting to have a dining experience that wasn't a buffet or family style on our recent trip to Lancaster, my boyfriend and I opted for Huckleberry's - the restaurant at the Fulton Steamboat Inn. We were particularly excited because the Inn itself is rather nice (and 'upscale' for the Lancaster area), the menu looked fantastic...and a discount certificate to Huckleberry's can be found on restaurant.com to offset the unusually high prices (for the area). The restaurant itself continued the hotel's victorian-themed decor and was charming. However, our visit ended up being a little disappointing. Despite a reservation, and having open tables, they didn't have a table set up for us. After that slight wait, the service was extraordinarily slow...which, in turn, caused other tables to complain non-stop to the management (which meant that those tables got all of the attention and the tables that behaved, i.e. mine, were virtually ignored). We weren't in any sort of hurry that night so we didn't mind having a leisurely dinner...but it was still somewhat frustrating that it took about an hour to get our food. We opted for the 'passenger favorites': seafood stuffed flounder and a combo of filet mignon & crabcake. All of the food was just ok - it was fresh and cooked well; it just wasn't particularly flavorful. If you're looking for a new experience in Lancaster and haven't been here yet, it's worth checking out - just make sure you get a restaurant.com certificate and defintitely make a reservation.
