Family owned, extremely friendly and professional. VERY fairly priced. Meal combo of pizza and a drink was less than anywhere else I've been to recently. Mushroom pizza was excellent. Great menu selection as well. Highly recommended.

Not your typical neighborhood pizza restaurant. In addition to pizza, it offers ribs, chicken, italian dishes and spanish dishes. We highly recommend the vegetarian pizza. Some of the friendliest service in town!

Ate at Espino's last night for the first time. The location was very clean and nice. Maybe a touch bright inside, but not an issue. Clearly a family run place - everyone was super nice, especially the owner Ramon. I got a chicken cheese steak, and it was probably the best one I've had in my entire life. The bread was fresh, nice chunks of real chicken, a super savory and wonderful homemade sauce, and fried onions. Perfection. My friend had a California cheese steak which was so so. The beef was grisly...but it was real hunks of beef, not that super chopped up stuff you usually get. Everything was fairly priced. In the end I felt it was excellent and look forward to trying other items on their menu!

Very good pizza made with quality ingredients. The place is very clean. The owner is accommodating - he even sent along a taste of some of his Dominican and Spanish dishes. I will definitely be back to taste some of the pork or chicken that is on the menu. Definitely recommended.

The 3 of us took penne vodka, white pizza and Greek salad. It was soooo good! Everything was fresh and made with ingredients of quality. I have to admit; I wasn't expecting such a good meal when entering this little tiny place. I'd definitely come back!

Owner has a lot of pride with his food. Pizza was excellent. Fresh slices! Real Cheese. Great prices. Garlic knots were tasty.

One of Lancaster best pizza joints! Great friendly service! He makes some awesome Latin dishes too!

The best white pizza in this city!!! A tad pricy and there isn't a grilled chicken option for pizza but total Aces in my book. Only place we ordered pizza anymore.

We have ordered from them many times - and although the food is ok, of the 10+ times we have called for a delivery, not one person can make ordering on the phone easy. A few days ago, the guy who answered the phone, said "Espino's" wrong on his first four tries. He then did not not know what a calzone was, and handed the phone to someone else, who took our order and went to hang up until we asked if they wanted payment and the delivery address. Over time, the pizza and the calzones have gotten smaller - and not worth the $ they charge.

This review is for delivery for pizza. So I've ordered from here two times now and both times have been really happy with the pizza. I can't comment on the other items on the menu (pasta, subs, calzones ect). I also can't comment on the service or the atmosphere of the restaurant as I have only ordered delivery. But if you want pizza it's a great choice in the Lancaster area. It's reasonably priced ($17 for a larger) and it's not the greasy icky delivery pizza can sometimes be. The veggie pizza is great- with olives, onions. peppers, mushrooms. I've also ordered the chicken pizza (just fyi it's like crispy chicken not grilled, it's not clarified on their menu WHAT exactly is the chicken pizza) and I know my other friends really liked that one. Plus another reason Espino's is bomb diggity is because they deliver and are open late! Definitely a a great choice if you are up late with friends, don't want to make anything, or after coming home from the bars and wanting a bite to eat. Both times I've ordered the '16 inch and that was enough for like 3 people with a slice or two leftover. Nom nom. good pizza.

Really excellent pizza, friendly service, nice long hours -- in fact these guys have been open holidays when you find few other businesses in town open. They may have been tossing back beers since the night before & eating anchovies straight out of the can, but they're open. My only detraction would be to say if you are calling ahead for take out, leave them at least 30 minutes to make your pizza. I've been told 10-15 minutes many times and it's never taken less than 30. I like the place but I don't particularly want to hang out waiting.

Don't let the look fool you. This place, from the outside, looks like a neighborhood pizza spot that you only call after a few beers and you don't feel like going anywhere. However, their pizza is out of control good. The family atmosphere from inside shines, you can tell they actually care about the quality of the food more then they care about how much money goes into the register. Great place, every time I'm in lancaster this is my jawn.

The first thing that you notice when you walk through the door is the graciousness of the owner, and his nephew. Secondly, the food is very good. I've had occasion to eat here several times. No complaints from me........only compliments. Also, note that the owner will accommodate you in any way you ask regarding your food preparation. Don't pass up this place. Its been many different restaurants since I've lived here. This place, by far, beats all the others!!!! :-) Congratulations you guys! Keep up the good work.

If you would have asked me an hour ago who makes the best pizza in Lancaster, I would have said Caruso's, Venice, or maybe Roma. My first experience at Espino's tonight blew them each out of the water. The owner and his family were extremely friendly. The prices were great. The pizza, let me tell you about the pizza. This was the best pizza I've had in a long time. The crust was perfect, the sauce was sweet but not too sweet, smothered in cheese yet not a spot of grease to be found on it or the box. I tried the chicken cheese steak as well. It was top notch with quality chunks of real chicken. (I shared the pizza with a friend, quit judging me). I really hope the secret gets out about Espino's. I can see it becoming very popular if word spreads.

This was a big disappointment. I was expecting great food from the other reviews so I decided to give this place a try. We ordered a large pizza and fries to go. The pizza tasted the same as the frozen microwaveable kind you find at the grocery store. I only ate one slice, and if you know me, that's saying a lot. The fries were mediocre, not bad but nothing special. Maybe we got the wrong thing on the wrong day, but this was a definite miss and I don't see giving it another shot anytime soon.

Ramon's the best pizza in Lancaster city. The white pie is my favorite. The crush is so lite and tasty. I love Ramon's.

Just a block west of the intersection of Lemon and Mulberry, you walk into what would normally be a typical looking pizza place next to a bodega in NYC. But, instead you are in a neighborhood in Lancaster's West End. As you enter, you're immediately greeted by the warm Ramon Espino standing at the counter. He'll tell you about his love for Italian cooking, despite being Dominican, and maybe even offer you some complementary rice and beans with your order... if you're lucky, like I was. The pizza I was served was quite delicious, a bit on the sweet side, and very filling. The crust was maybe a tad thicker than the typical NY style I am accustomed to, but still delicious and cooked well in the pizza oven nonetheless. The menu is simple but varied, and Ramon offers pizza, strombolis, calzones, subs, burgers, several pasta main courses, and... yes... some Dominican treats including roast pork, ribs, chicken, and "Bistec Ensebollado", which I'm sure I'll have to eventually try. Overall, this is a clean, unassuming place with a drop-ceiling, fluorescent lights and standard tile floor with a few places to sit. He does have a widescreen TV to enjoy while you wait for your order, or you can call ahead. The food is solid and inexpensive, and you definitely get a homey family feel from the place. Worth a visit for those in the neighborhood. But, he delivers as well.

At the corner of Lemon Street and North Concord Street there is a pizza oven. It was there in the 90s when the restaurant was Napoli Pizza, survived the café years of Frank & Mary's, the Pickle's Café sandwich shop stint, and, most recently, stood silent guard as Sapori came, and went. Now, Ramon Espino has sunk $2,000 into fixing the oven, and purchased a second pizza oven--one that's older, and, says Espino, better. He is literally banking on the fact that his nearly 20 years working in pizza places in New York, combined with the outstanding ovens, turn the 950ish square foot space into a profitable restaurant. He may be right. I ordered the stuffed "meat lover" pizza, with a side of tostones (plantains that are sliced, fried, pounded and re-fried) then watched Espino, his wife, and various family members go to work. Espino talked the whole time he built the pizza. Stories of food and family, business and recipes all combined into a multi-cultural narrative as he poked, punched and pulled house made dough into a thin disc, then dotted it with all-things-meat. I'd only ordered a slice of the best seller-- which comes with pepperoni, ground beef, ham and sausage. No slice was available so mine was made super-fresh. Preparation done, Espino slid the half moon of meat, cheese and ivory colored dough (dusted with what appeared to be corn meal) into the small, black, "new" oven. Espino is from the Dominican Republic, and half the menu at Espino's Pizza reflects his heritage. It's food he know's because, he says, it's in his blood. But his experience is international. He's worked in restaurants that feature French, Chinese, Jewish and Italian foods. He has, he says, more than 400 recipes for pasta in his head. But, he wants to start slow and "make it" before getting creative. The pizza was not fancy, or creative, but it was good. It did not drip oil, the cheese and meat were flavorful and proportionate, and the crust had both crunch and spring. Tostones with ketchup may be my new favorite bar food--as long as they are steaming hot. Unfortunately, Espino's doesn't have a liquor liscense. But, they are open late, and do get their share of the post-bar crowd. I discovered that, if you really want the good stuff, make sure you order a Caesar salad. A debate with Espino over the use of capers in his dressing lead to a small salad on my table. One bite, and I knew that, if this house made dressing was any indication, the "creative" pasta that Espino is hoping to introduce was going to rock. The dressing is the best I've had in years. Pizza ovens, years of experience, a killer Ceasar salad with a bit of the Dominican Republic on the side. Tastes like a recipe for success to me.

Other pizza shops take note: This is how you should treat your customers. Courtesy and friendliness go a long way, and the Espino family has lots of it. Their food was excellent. I had a pizza, the ingredients were all fresh and that crust was delicious with corn meal on the crust as an added touch. The mozzarella sticks were literally the best I've ever had. They tasted like home made (maybe they were). I had a Caesar salad and his homemade dressing hits the spot. It's delicious. I think I found my new favorite pizza place. Did I mention the owner is very friendly and takes the time to hold a conversation with you when you come in? That goes a long way these days! Finally someone that knows how to run a business and keep customers loyal to him.

I've been wanting to try Espino's since it opened. I drive Lemon St all the time, but couldn't think of the name of to be able to call my order in so I just went and planned on waiting for the pie. I met Ramon and his wife and ordered a 16" pizza with peppers and onions. He showed me the fresh peppers and said it'd be 10 minutes. The place is very clean and bright, small but nice tables if you want to sit down to eat there. Ramon made some other recommendations on the menu and I can't wait to go back and try ribs or a cheese steak. I brought the pizza home and my wife and I agreed that it was absolutely delicious. The sauce made it. You can tell its not from a can, but his own recipe. It had a little zip to it, just the right amount of spice. The dough was perfect as well. I highly recommend Espino's, and like me, you'll probably be back for more.

Likely the best pizza in Lancaster. Great dough, very fresh vegetables (mushrooms, peppers, and tomatoes), homemade sauce, and just the right amount of cheese. I'd been wanting to try this place for months but didn't think they delivered. Most of the time we get pizza when we're too tired to do anything or go anywhere. We called and were pleasantly surprised to learn that they did indeed deliver. My only wish is that they had kalamata olives instead if the regular canned black ones. We'll be ordering from Espino's again!

okay. service was weird, they have staffing issues. pizza was good but they use corn meal on the crust (prevents the pie from sticking to the pizza stone) but it adds an undesirable flavor and texture to me.

After three visits felt compelled to honor. Pizza is among the top couple in the county. Texture is outstanding. The owners Spanish dishes were very nice as well. Owner is friendly and generous. Gave us garlic knots and fried ripe plantains. Support this place, it is a hidden treasure.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
