Situated behind the Bob Evans' on Centerville Road right off of Route 30, "Crazy Tomato" is easy to get to... if you make the correct turn into their parking lot, which is a bit confusing. Inside, the decor is reminiscent of someone's converted garage, but there is ample seating. The deck is small and, if like us last night you want to sit out and enjoy the mild summer evening, you're going to have to wait - even if it's not too crowded inside. The pretzel-boli was excellent and cooked as expected. The craft beer menu was decent and they had some good standard craft choices that should satisfy most of the non "big beer" folks. Overall, this is a bit of a pedestrian establishment that doesn't go out of its way to be excellent or terrible. It's new. It's clean. And, we had a nice time. I wouldn't go out of my way to stop in again. But, wouldn't say "no" if invited by friends.

Crazy Tomato is a fun eatery with good food and an excellent craft beer selection. Wait staff is very friendly and accommodating. I have been there for dinner on a busy weekend as well as lunch on a weekday. The only complaint I have is that they have nothing to absorb sound since everything is a hard surface. Busy weekends make it very hard to carry on a conversation when they are busy. Ceiling clouds would be a big improvement!

The half-decent food is not worth the poor service, loud environment, and long wait for food. We went on a Thursday evening and got seated right away. I ordered a wedge salad thinking that I would have something for my daughter to eat while we waited for the Strombolis and pork sandwich. Unfortunately the extremely overpriced $8 wedge salad came out at the same time as the rest of the food- which took a long, long time. One person in my group received a burger, not the pork sandwich she ordered. At that point there was no way she was sending it back to wait even longer so she ate it. The Strombolis were good. The server never shared a list of beers on tap- isn't that supposed to be their "thing"? When my boyfriend asked about beers she had no suggestions and didn't offer a list. She never offered a second beer when he finished his first. We were visiting with family from out of town but could barely hold a conversation because it was so loud. That, coupled with the fact that the server never took any of our plates off the table, meant we couldn't get out of there fast enough.

First trip to Crazy Tomato. Nice but small deck area. I chose to eat inside since it was getting cool outside. Nice decor, tv's everywhere, bathroom very clean. I was quickly seated however the booth and table seats are very low and I'm only 5.8. How does a tall person feel comfortable sittting here. My waiter was at first very attentive. However as the meal went on he often disappeared for long periods time leaving my sister or me needing/wanting something and having to wait longer than acceptable, and slowly shrinking his tip from my usual 20% down to 15%. I ordered the wings and IMO they are tops in the county and comparable to some great ones I have had down south. I ordered the hog on hog (if I remember the name correctly). It was a very good sandwich and the fries were hot and fresh. If the service were better this could have been a 4 or 4.5 experience.

EVERYTHING here is OVERPRICED. I came here with 2 friends. 2 of us ordered chicken wraps. They had absolutely NO FLAVOR. The other ordered the "Crazy Cuban" He described it as "sane" The staff is pretty slow, and they don't seem to care. It looks like they put a lot of money into putting this place together because the interior is very nice. Such a waste....

First place that I ever walked out before the food came. A lot of staff standing around. My daughter was getting fussy 30 min after we ordered. So we packed up and left as the food was coming up. Told the waitress that was too long for a boli and salad. Walked right past the manager who did nothing to stop us from leaving. A table of 4 left right behind us. Also overpriced beers on tap. Out of business within 2 years

Tried the pulled pork sandwich, which was horrible, very little meat mostly fat, onions and bread. My husband had the pretzel burger, very greasy, not very good. Not a very good first experience at this place. Probably won't try it again.

We read some reviews before we went to Crazy Tomato. However, we felt we had to give them a chance. I have to say this was the worst meal we have EVER had. We ordered some drinks with dinner that were watered down plus the bartenders took forever to make. The bar was empty. I had the baby back ribs that were obviously heated back up with a little slash of BBQ sauce on them. Extremely dry. My fiancé got Crazy Tomato vs Godzilla wrap. Both were the exact same and dry as the Sahara Desert too! We read that the place was loud. That's no joke. We couldn't even hear each other talk. The waste of money and our time.

Family and I decided to give this place a try since it was new and close to home. We were seated promptly which was nice, but our waitress didn't realize we were in her section so it took awhile to place a drink order. She was very apologetic and friendly so no big deal. We ordered the bacon wrapped jalapenos as an appetizer, which were amazing, a few more for the price would have been nice. I ordered the hog wild sandwich and liked it very much, no complaints! My daughter ordered the sweet carolina burger and was impressed. The fries were A ok, nothing I would crave to have again. A seasoning of some sort would make them better. My husband had the brisket, while he said it was good, it wasn't the best he ever had and wasn't very tender. Overall, I would say the food was very good. The restaurant was clean and the decor was cute. The part we did not like was the noise! Holy cow, we practically had to yell at each other when talking! I don't know if the noise level is so bad because of the radio or because of the place being small but I will say that we will not be dining in anytime in the near future. Maybe will try take out instead :)

All I can say is I haven't eaten food this delicious in some time. We ordered Cubans as well as the spinach/artichoke dip with pita bites.....yum! Our Cubans were made perfectly and toasted on crusty bread, the spinach dip came hot from the oven and the pita bites appeared to be made in house and were slightly toasted. Everything on the menu sounded delicious and when we go back the decision will be tough to order something new or stick with what we knew and loved. I would love to give this place 4 stars and if I was only judging the food they would have earned 4 starts plus however there were a few flaws that couldn't be ignored. #1 Our waitress was very attentive when we first arrived however once our food came she went MIA. Twice we had to flag down another employee for water and extra napkins. #2 This is sports bar so the noise level is pretty loud - even earlier in the day when we dined (4:30 on a Friday night) #3 The prices are a bit high for us but the portion size was generous and the food quality was very high so I wouldn't mind splurging here once in a while. #4 It's hard to get to. Lack of signage lead us to another adjacent lot only to discover it doesn't connect to the restaurant. Thank goodness for 4 wheel drive as I'm sure we were not the first to drive over a parking curb and down the hill in the grass.

Decided to try this place after leaving Ruffino's Pizza nearby which I wanted to try since its reviews here were good, but I was immediately turned off when I saw the sign on the entrance door announcing the death of the owner (John Ruffino) nearly a year ago (July 2014) and the only pizza they had available for slices was a dry looking cheese pie. The "Now Open" sign outside of Crazy Tomato caught my eye, so I investigated the establishment. The college-aged hostess was a bit of a B.... but the server, Laura, more than made up for it in the good service and food suggestions she provided. I had no idea what to order as I'm not a fan of greasy burgers, junk food and the like, but do stray off the ranch on occasion to explore and not be so rigid. I love charbroiled wings and ordered a small portion ($6.49 for 5) with the hottest sauce they had (Crazy Hot they call it). I asked for them to be burned (charred) but the cook didn't make them that way, so I sent them back to do as I ordered. They came back just fine and tasted great, albeit not real meaty, but few places have meaty wings, so no biggie. The prices are a bit high, so that added to my difficulty selecting something from the menu, as I'm on a tight budget. $10.99 for a veggie sandwich, $9.99 grilled cheese sandwich, $7.99 wedge salad, $9.99 geek salad, $11.99 nacho appetizer, and $9.99 for a plain old cheese burger is out of my league for that. Laura suggested the pretzel stromboli as I wanted something Italian - like and like soft pretzels. I ordered mine extra crispy ($9.99). It came out as ordered and tasted good with the ham, onions, cheese and peppers i asked for inside ($1.50 extra for the ham). I was shocked at the price of a glass of wine - $9.99 (I see a pricing pattern here). Still, it was good. The atmosphere is noisy but comfortable and I didn't mind the noise at all. In fact, I read a chapter in a book while there. I won't be back because of the price, but if you can afford it, by all means, check it out. I gave it just 2 stars based on price and the hostess' poor attitude, otherwise I would have given it 3 stars.

The Crazy Tomato is a very interesting eatery. We went during opening week and the service was very good considering most of the staff was still in the training process. The atmosphere feels very sports bar like with about 29 tv's hanging through out the restaurant. Seating wise there are about 20 tables with additional seating on the deck. The menu is manageable and offers a number of options without being too overwhelming. There is a limited kids menu ( chicken tenders, grilled cheese, or a cheeseburger). The pie and Stromboli menus are what the restaurant is known for and do not disappoint. Our party ordered an appetizer, two personal pies, two beer flights, a pint, and the brisket entree, bringing the total to $68.00. I thought the price was reasonable given the unique menu items and 30+ beers on tap. Well worth trying!

Portions to big but decent smaller cheaper fair would be better or just share a half pound burger. Drinks overpriced.

As we enter, the owner starts telling us this is a soft opening (they had been open 3 weeks) so please bear with us !!!! Not a good start especially as there were only a handful of people in the entire place. Pizza was undercooked and could be bought in any frozen food isle. My wife's Ceaser salad had some weird sautéed onions under it and it didn't taste anything like the hundreds of ceaser's we've eaten in the past. Childrens menu was terrible. Not one healthy choice and the plate came with adult size portions and loaded with fries. :Our 5 yr old grandson seem overwhelmed as the dish was placed in front of him. The worst part was the beer being warm and then being told they had NO frosted mugs to serve the beer in. This place touted all the beer they have yet didn't have a cold glass at 2 o'clock in the afternoon. Unfortunately this place will not be around long unless they make major changes soon.

Four of us arrived last night about 6:00. The parking lot was busy but plenty of open spaces. We were seated immediately and our server came right over. Plenty of craft beer available, some local. Our food came out quickly and hot. The fries are home made and plentiful. The only complaint we have is the noise level.

We tried Crazy Tomato for our first time on a Friday night. We weren't very impressed. My husband's beer was fine, but atmosphere left a bit to be desired. Myself, I was highly disappointed with the Moscato served. I drink this type of wine enough to know that it was flat. Needless to say, will not be rushing back.

First visit, gave it a try in spite of bad reviews since it's so close to home. Most expensive pints in two counties, $7.25 for a York County brewery. Excellent beer but I'd rather drive to the brewery and drink with the brewer for less than half that price. We were not greeted but "notified" that the kitchen is closed (9:10 pm) and they're closing in 40'. Staff cleaning up around you, mopping up walkways. No thanks, plenty of other options.

We tried this place twice. Since the first time wasn't so good we wanted to give it another chance. The salad was room temperature and served with the meal, not before. The pulled pork was dry. It was so loud no one at the table could talk. When we asked why it was so warm they said the tvs put off alot of heat. Too many other places to eat around here. Won't be back.

Okay here is a little story about a place that just opened, so one would think the manager and staff would try to do anything to bring customers in to get their business going.. Like I said you would think. A group of us where talking about ordering food to take out (party of 10). One member of our party stopped in Thursday to get us a menu so we can order Friday for takeout. He had a drink talked to the staff was given one of the menus from the restaurant and was asked to bring the menu back on Friday when we would pick up our order. Right about the same time our friend was given the menu another member of our party independently went to the restaurant not knowing about our friend being in there. She asked the same question if we could call for take out Friday... She was told that would not be possible. The restaurant was not ready for take out yet, even though our friend was told the total opposite and was even given a menu for all of us to choose. So Friday when all of us got together and we heard 2 different stories. We all thought this was rather ridiculous that each person was told something completely different. So we called at 11:00AM Friday to place our order and all we got was an answering service stating that no takeout is possible at this time.. I wonder how long this place is going to last. When I was driving by Friday afternoon (on East 30) 4 members of the staff were sitting in the grass and on the steps smoking in the back of the building. That was at 2:45 PM. So we ordered food from Venice instead .. Which by the way was very very good. So right there was $ 120.00 that the "Crazy Tomato" evidently did not need. Pretty sad for "Customer Service".

Have to say- one of the worst experiences at a bar/restaurant. They had an ad in the entertainment section of the Lancaster Newspaper. Large ad "craziest happy hour". Monday - Friday 4-6 pm. List of very specific prices. All craft beer -4.00, drafts 2.00,etc,etc. we ordered craft beer and checked price w server. He had no idea nor did the bar staff. They checked with owner (presumably by phone) he said the ad was a mistake by the paper and would not honor!Really poor business practice/decision.

This was my first time at the Crazy Tomato; however, I was with my Parents who have been there many times before. We went at about 7pm on a Wednesday evening. We were seated promptly and it was about half full that night. Our party each had a drink, which I thought my drink was excellent. We shared the Kicken Srirchacha Pizza and the Traditional Pretzel Boli. We thought the Pizza was solid and very good; however, not excellent. We thought the Pretzel Boli was awesome! Our server was so incredibly friendly; however, the hostess was miserable. Seriously, she was the worst first impression of a restaurant ever. Although I do say that, the server was so friendly that we definitely forgot about the hostess by about midway through the meal.

I frankly have mixed emotions. On one hand out server, Charlie I think, was very friendly and attentive. The wings were smoky and tender on the inside but crisp and caramelized on the outside. The pizza was perfect, a nice crisp crust with just the right balance of cheese & sauce. On the other hand, pricing seems a little steep but considering the food we got, I'd splurge on it occasionally. What wasn't so cool was feeling like we're inside a tin box with 50 people yelling at the same time. I kid you not, the acoustics in there are crazy. If (and when) we go back, we'll definitely shoot for an outdoor table so conversation doesn't require yelling and sign language.
