We had the hummus appetizer, the cheesesteak, the southwest salad, and the Pittsburg salad. Let's start with the food: the cheesesteak rivals the best Phillips cheesesteak I've had. It is clearly made not with the paper thin meat like product pats uses, but is identifiable as actual beef! The hummus was made fresh, and came with veggies and breads to dip. My guests enjoyed their salads immensely. Barny's has a great selection of craft beers, and great outdoor seating. I also noticed that the outdoor area was dog friendly! It was great, and I will be back.

Been going here for lunch multiple Saturday's this year. Food is decent and outdoor seating is relaxing. Hasn't been busy all year. Only thing I'd knock right now is that buddy and I split "bucket of beers and range balls" today and you only get one token which is half a bucket. Still, $14 for 4 beers and a $4 range token is good deal, as that puts the beer at $2.50 each.

We trekked over to Lancaster to try out Barny's Grill on the Outlook Community College Campus. It's a cute place with stone walls and a wooden, beamed ceiling. The dining room is small and could use a bit more ornamentation to make it warm and homey. We started off with a delightful salad brimming with various dark greens, cherry tomatoes, and an appropriate smattering of red onion and shredded cheddar cheese. The Greek vinaigrette dressing was agreeably tart to the taste buds and didn't weigh down the fresh greens. We then had the Baked Spinach & Crab Dip appetizer. The cheddar and jack cheeses melted into a runny, buttery-looking puddle beneath the crab and spinach mixture, making the concoction somewhat unappealing to the eye. But the flavors had a nicely piquant zip. Next up, Chicken & Bourbon-Spiked BBQ Baby Back ribs. My dinner companion had a full rack of ribs and they were ginormous! Our ribs were meaty and just as tender as you could possibly want them to be. It was definitely the highlight of the meal. A crab cake can be added to any entree for $6.00, and since the menu said they were "award-winning," we decided to share one as a sample. Ew (sorry to say), it was fishy tasting and mushy in consistency. I'm not sure who would award these crab cakes anything but a one-way ticket to the dumpster. The humorous part of the evening came when we heard a loud stomping on the ceiling. The waiter said that there are dance classes held upstairs in the barn-style building, and the wooden floors are conducive to exaggerated noise from the stomping of the overhead choreography. Hey, it made ME laugh! Barny's strikes me as kind of a hit-or-miss kind of place. The good stuff is really good and the bad stuff is ba-a-ad. Our waiter was casually professional, cute as a button, and had a subtle, upbeat attitude. He's a good reason for a return visit! There is one item on the menu I'm tempted to go back and try: the Strawberry Chicken. It's an almond-crusted breast of chicken with a strawberry salsa. Sounds perfect for a spring visit. Hmmm....

This is my place for a nicer lunch with my colleagues. It's clean, quiet and a well-kept secret. The menu is a basic bistro-kinda menu. They have some nice outdoor seating as well. I highly recommend!

Not bad, and its a really nice place too! ---------- FOOD: There is only 3 things on the lunch menu that a vegetarian can eat. A salad, a veggie wrap and a portabella mushroom sandwich. Not liking feta cheese, I got a ceasar salad. Its a grilled half a head and its good. The others got a steak sandwich, and a burger. They all have high praise. DECOR: Its a barn decor, all wood walls, ceilings, floors.. My one beef is that the tables are the laminated plastic tables and dont match the rest of the theme at all. The one wall looks like it opens completely onto the patio (which is huge) and you can sit outside. SERVICE: Friendly. The waitress came back often and earned her tip. ---------- WOULD I GO BACK AGAIN? If some of us went for lunch, sure. I probably wont go just to pop in for a quick bite tho..

Do not go to this restuarant if there is a party going on upstairs! We were told that it was a small wedding (about 60 people) but the noise and stomping overhead was intolerable. The food was nothing special.

Terrible Service! This was my first time to Barny's, I can't say I will ever reccogmend it. First off, great setting, sat outside it was a beautiful day. Crab soup came only slightly warm, great flavor, but hot would have been much better. Ordered the ham grilled cheese. Very good flavor, could have had a crisper texture. Bad part about it was the piece of PLASTIC in the middle. I picked it out told the Hostess and ate the sandwich anyway. Good chips. OK the bad part and why this gets a terrible rating from me. When sandwich came the waiter asked me if I would like a refill on my water, I said yes and he left. 10-15 min and after I was about done my plastic infused sandwich I still didn't see him. I asked the hostess, who was great in all this, for water and she returned in about a min. Server strolled over about 5 min later with water saying "slight laugh" guess someone got you. I tried to tell him yes, the hostess but he was already walking away. At this point it kinda upset me. Only warm soup ... This was my first time to Barny's, I can't say I will ever reccogmend it. I will tell everyone I know about this, starting here! I will never go there again till he is gone! He could have easily made this better. A simple sorry forgot your water. A oh, sorry there is plastic in your food. And deffinatly not telling the customer he has an attitude is all it would have taken.
