I have been going to this restaurant for many years. The food is real, made fresh and it may be a bit more pricey than other restaurants, but you get what you pay for. I was served my meals always on real dishes, never plastic. The portions are decent, not huge, but I always end up taking mine home for the next day. If you want a really nice experience, and good food, stop here. You will not be disappointed at all.

Not good. Been going to Peking Chef for years. For an "express" a few glaring flaws: no lunch menu & too expensive. Menu is the same as the Dallas location's dinner menu. Diners get to choose Regular (roughly $8) or large ($12). Again, no lunch menu. So for lunch I paid $8 for a small portion of General Tso's chicken on a styrofoam plate. The biggest problem was the food. The chicken was rubbery. I asked for "3 out of 4" spiciness. Not only was it not spicy, it was flavorless. Customer service was fine, even if a little confused. I will not be back.

The staffs are very kind. The food is fresh~ as a student from China studying abroad. The taste from home! And they have seasonal food if you ask and they'll cook for your demands.

Only had take out, but the food is pretty good. It is one of the better Chinese restaurants in the area, but it tends to be expensive. I'm a wonton soup junkie and theirs is good but not the best I've ever had.

I'm a Chinese student studying in the US. Peking chef's dishes remind me of home. The black pepper beef is absolutely the best I've ever had! I'm gonna miss this place so much when I leave for college. The boss is really nice and always send us some new dishes to try. Make sure that you have a look at the new Chinese special menu. They are very original and keep the essence of Chinese traditional food.

A swing.....and a miss! Unfortunately, the poor execution took away from the great concept. Peking Chef Express was marketed as a "Subway" version of the regular Chinese food joint. The menu is up on the wall behind the counter, prices and all, and the drinks can be found in a cooler near the door. The right call would be to have the customer enter, place their order at the counter, grab a drink from the cooler, and have the food brought to their table (which they choose, no "hostess" needed), on plastic dishes and paper cups. I entered around 1pm on Saturday and walked to the counter to place my order, and was told I needed to get a table. Once I was seated by the hostess, who might be the most confused person this side of an old-folks home, it took at least 10 minutes for the waitress to come over and take my drink order. About 5 minutes later, she returned with a bottle of diet Pepsi from the cooler and walked away again. 5 minutes more, and I had to ask if I could order. The food finally came out about 10 minutes later, with a very, very small portion for an extremely inflated price. Not to mention the food was cold and flavorless. I could've gone to ANY Chinese food place down the street for half the price and better quality, and got exactly what I had expected. This experience was enough to prevent me from returning to this location, and also think twice about giving their parent restaurant in Dallas any more of my business. The entire experience was totally off-putting. Hopefully, they improve upon the service aspect of Peking Chef Express, or they'll be packing everything up and moving it back to Dallas in a month or two.

This is by far the best Chinese food that I've eaten at since living in Kingston. The beef lo mein is my favorite. Their large size is like two meals in one. Never eaten in the restaurant yet, just take out, but the service is always quick and the staff is very friendly.

Peking Chef Express sets itself apart from the others by using good, quality ingredients. I got takeout. - The broccoli tasted fresh, not frozen. - The shrimp was large and tasty. - Wonton soup broth wasn't overly salty. - They have brown rice! - Sauces weren't greasy. The only downside was that it was a bit pricey. The portions may not be as large as you'd get in other places, but it was nice to eat Chinese food without feeling gross and hungry again after an hour. Maybe the better quality ingredients are more filling than the cheap ones. I would definitely order from here again.

I live with two fat guys named Bill and Dave, they order from this place about five times a week - chowing down like maniacs. They can't get enough, I'm a medium size guy, and my girlfriend is a small sized person. We order about two times a month, much less than the fat guys, and we enjoy it. It's a little more high end - so if you want to seem like less of a scum bag to girls and not take them through the drive thru maybe try this. A tip, that my two fat, girl friendless roommates may want to take into consideration. I have another roommate, who is medium size guy, and has a very poor diet - mostly cold pizza and beer. He likes this place too, I think. Over all it makes fat guys who order Chinese all the time feel a little healthier because it's not as greasy - but still will put you into the regular Chinese Coma, that is experienced with most Chinese food. The girl was nice to us when we ordered too, and the delivery driver is awesome. I guess since Happy Family is gone, this is going to have to do.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
