This restaurant was recommended from our Hotel. It was TOPS. Our Waitress was Judy & she was fantastic. We not only had awesome service but the food was amazing!! People never stopped coming in to this place....it is The Place to Drink & Eat at without a doubt! I had Fresh Clams & my husband had a Ham & Swiss Sandwich on Kaiser Roll with Home Made Potato Chips! Do Not Miss going here if you are in Jonestown! You will NOT be disappointed.

A great place for lunch or dinner or even just a drink at the bar. Excellent food and service. Lots of choices. Good specials, soups, and drinks. Nice, warm atmosphere. The bar is inviting with a large dining room off to the side. In good weather, there is a huge deck with lots of tables and a 2nd bar and live entertainment on Sundays.

We just had the worst experience at a restaurant that we have had in years. We had a party of 9, even called ahead, but they said sit yourself. So we had to put tables together and then they got mad and made us move the table after we set it up. Then our server took over an hour to take our food order. Took 2 hours and 40 minutes from entering to leaving, and no one had desert! The food was lukewarm when it was brought out and the server was a total klutz. The manager reassured us that he would take care of it, but then after waiting 45 minutes for the checks, she had it all screwed up. So we paid it all together and nothing was "taken care of." This place might be good for a few people but don't ever think of going with a large group of people. I am flabbergasted that the manager would come reassure the table that he would take care of it and still let it all go to hell and not give any kind of a discount.

My husband, cousin and I were visiting the area for a wedding we were attending last weekend. When we arrived, we quickly realized there weren't an abundance of places to eat / drink / hang out so we asked the hotel representative where the closest bar/grill was. Her first answer was Moose's - right down the road about a mile, so we headed there in hopes of finding a place to have a beer and a bite to eat. Wow, am I glad she recommended Moose's to us. Food was great, it was better than your average "bar food", the service was great, people were nice, we enjoyed every aspect of our evening here. For the sports fan in you, there are plenty of TVs to watch and there is a juke box (a modern one, touch screen) with a large variety if you are in the mood for some music. We happened to be there for $2 draft beers (SCORE!) and $3 shots! Crazy good prices! We also ordered a few snacks, my FAVE was the corn fritters, out of this world! WE went back again the next night, after the wedding was over to get a late dinner and a drink, and were just as impressed. While the place was NOT busy at all (it was a Sunday night), the service was perfect and the food was yum. This time we got meals with apps, and the meals we each had were very tasty. The Ham and Cheese (hot on Kaiser roll) comes with chips, and it is PILED HIGH with ham and cheese, definitely worth the $5.25!!! Can't say enough good things about this place, I highly recommend it if you are in the area and looking for a drink / snack / meal / fun environment!

Dined on 11/05/11 So my dilemma, do I rate this place a 4 because it was great for what was available in the area, or do I rate it a 3 because really that was the quality of the food and service didn't deserve a 4. I would love to give them a 3.5 because they deserve more than a 3 but less than a 4. If you find yourself at Fort Indiantown Gap, or FIG as all us National Guard and Reservists fondly call the base, Moose's LZ (nonmilitary types LZ means Landing Zone), as the restaurant is not far from the Army Airfield and runway. The restaurant has a main bar room on entry, and they have a dining room off the bar room for quieter get togethers. Lots of TVs and even a pool table and digital jukebox. The fare was good, not spectacular though. My steak while not cooked 100% the way I wanted it, it was still tender and delicious. I found that when I asked for heavy sour cream for my baked potato I was charged an extra 50 cents and each person in our party was charged extra for any condiment. As example my fellow officer ordered a steak sandwich Au jus (pit-beef sandwich) and had to pay 50 cents for the horseradish. The beer tasted great, and was cold, but the mugs a little on the small side, but still considering my alternative was to eat military dining/chow hall food. So if you find yourself on I-81 near FIG and are hungry, this place is worth stopping. But I wouldn't drive out of my way to come here. So, when I come back to FIG for military training and I have my vehicle, I will come for dinner again. My biggest complaint is that Verizon needs better tower service in the area because I needed to go outside to check in on Yelp...LOL.

really good burgers and fries and very good crab cake sandwich. The burgers are different than most places and not sure why. Nothing fancy but just good burgers and buns. Great service and Bill who I assume is the manager was very friendly and took the time to give us a history of the place. This place was not Mooses when I served at the Gap years ago but if it was I would have eaten there every day. Nice deck, great food, good service and nice mix of customers, younger, older, black, white, military, civilian etc. Got my family going here now as well.

A must for the beer selection and amazing homemade potato chips. I thoroughly enjoyed my turkey burger with sweet chili sauce and cauliflower bites (BBQ sauce). Others in my party had the breaded mushrooms and bacon cheese 'shroom burger and the jalapeño bites with burger and onion rings. Overall, we had a great time. The bar lends an authentic roadhouse feel, service is friendly. Glad I stopped in.

Just outside the gate of Fort Indiantown Gap, this recently renovated bar also serves a big menu of bar and not so bar foods. If you are coming to drink beer and play pool, this is your place. There is a rumor that they may have started serving liquor, but none was in evidence during my visit. The kitchen exceeds expectations. I had a surprisingly fresh soup and an inventive steak salad. Tasted some awesome cheese fries and the sauce on the wings was non-standard but delicious. I'd give them four stars for the food alone, but this really is a just rowdy country bar that just happens to have a decent kitchen tacked on to it. They really do bar food well-just not really my kind of place. Lots of military types due to location and by design. Male/female ratio is heavily skewed.

Solid stop just off the interminable 81S. Great service, tasty appetizers, delicious crab cakes! Probably also good for beer/drinks if you're not driving. Military spot with lots of character:)

Beer here tastes fresh and the steaks are great. The staff can be a little moody at times but all n all they are good people. I'd stay clear of the tacos and prime rib both were awful. I gave this place 4 stars because of the steaks, location and the atmosphere. I normally don't do this but this is the best place I've had anywhere near FIG. So if you get strip Ed here for training go here and have a good time. I just saved you a lot of trying places that suck! ROFL Oh BTW, this place is right outside the east road not where Yelp says it is!

I attended Moose's LZ on November 16th. I was in PA to visit my brother in the Army National Guard before he deploys to Afghanistan. Upon entering the place was packed. It was evident that the 2 waitresses (at least I only saw 2) were swamped. We weren't greeted and had to find our own table (not a big deal) but the waitress was quick to welcome us and take our drink orders. She was very polite. Our drinks did not take long but the waitress had forgotten to write down one of our four drinks. Apparently it was her first day on the job so this was forgiven. We ordered the "kick-ass fries". They were a bit in the greasy side but still delicious. I got the NY Sirloin (medium rare) steak with a baked potato, applesauce and coleslaw. Surprisingly the food was ready very quickly. The steak was cooked perfectly. The best I've had in a long time. The portion was very generous (as it should be for a 15$ meal!) the slow and applesauce was a little too juicy. The potato was good. The waitress was polite and checked on us regularly. The food was pretty good but the service was the best I've had in a while. Kudos to our waitress. If you're in town this I'd the place to eat. Not perfect but good experience overall.

Fun place with very reasonable food prices. Good place for a beer and a nice casual dinner. More like a sports bar with a kinda rowdy crowd.

Moose's LZ is probably one of the best restaurants I have ever eaten at. I can't recall a single con about it. Once you walk in, it feels more of a bar-only type of place, but there is also a back deck and a dining hall connected to the building. The employees are very friendly and helpful. There is a HUGE variety of food types to choose from. The service is fast and the meals are of high quality. The food quantity is good for the price too. Again, this is probably one of the best restaurants I've ever been to, so I gave 4 stars.

Amazing Crab Cakes & the best ribs I've ever had anywhere! Add a loaded Pierogie app and a $6 pitcher of Yuengling Lager and I'd call it a perfect Monday night! Super friendly staff as well - love this place!

Sadly, my dad recently passed away in January 2015. It was a long process, but eventually he was put to rest at Fort Indiantown Gap's Veteran Cemetery. How it relates to my review is based on location. Moose's is very close to the cemetery so after visiting my dad one Saturday, I stopped here for lunch. It's essentially a bar, but they do offer a bit more of a select than most bars do. Almost a little too much as I didn't know what to order initially. Sentimentally, I decided on a cheese steak (it's what my dad would have ordered) and my company went with one as well. The sandwiches were good, mine being Moose's special recipe and my company having the buffalo chicken, so I can't complain about the food. In retrospect however, I decided to opt out of the chips and upgraded to an order of deck fries. The fries were absolutely fantastic, but when I asked whether it would be cheaper to order the appetizer or simply upgrade I think their math was a little off. They also charged to add onion and cheese to the chili which seemed a bit stingy on their part. Overall, 2 people having cheese steaks cost about $30. They were good, but I've had better for less. If you do eat here though, I wholeheartedly recommend the deck fries.

This is nice little spot in an otherwise boring rural/military town. In the Spring/Summer, the best part about this place is the large, spacious back deck. The outdoor seating capacity is much greater than most places. They have a full bar and food service outside. You can also watch the many helicopters taking off from the nearby airfield (thus "Moose's LZ") The front bar has pool, darts, and a jukebox. There are separate dining rooms which you can reserve for groups and events. The have a pretty robust menu and great beer selection for a small town restaurant. The menu ranges from cheap appetizers and sandwiches to $20 steaks and ribs. My favorite item is the wings. They offer many different flavors and you can mix and match so you don't have to commit to one. The crowd tends to have people from all over the country due to the nearby military training site.

Agree with other reviews, corn fritters were good. Wife like the buffalo cheesesteak; it was moist. Had the farm burger, while on the greasier side, it was tasty. For the burger, there was melted cheese on both slices of bread. It may have been better too allow the over easy yolk to burst all over the slice of bread, rather than leaking over the plate.

Moose's is the best restaurant in the area. Food, atmosphere and staff are fantastic!

Love sitting out on the patio listening to Roy Lafever on Seafood Sunday. Great prices on the steamed clams and shrimp. Very laid back vibe, perfect way to end a weekend.

This place is right next to the base. It's is an extremely comfortable place to eat and drink. The food is excellent and the service is great. The chicken wings were crispy and the hamburgers are amazing. A must to check out.

You can not go wrong here. Everything i ever tried has been delish! Today i got the honey mustard chicken sandwich with mushrooms, onions and bacon. Yummy! With a side of waffle fries. My nephew got the apache burger with jalepinos, bacon and hot sauce. He said it was making him cry. Lol what did the boy expect?!?! The pork BBQ meal with baked beans was said to be the bomb. Great food and it was a great day to sit on the deck after kayaking. Do yourself a favor, take the bike out and ride here for some lunch or dinner.

Love the buffalo chicken cheesesteak, corn fritters, and deck fries. Also hear great things about the lasagna. Taco Wednesday is great too. I don't think I've ever had anything bad here. Sometimes the waitstaff can be slow but they are friendly!
