Stop looking at the menu and order the chicken ball! The Phoenix is a must have when I'm in J-town.

Dave and his staff are the most hospitable hosts in town. When we want to eat wing, this is the first place we think of. The decor is retro and walking in there just feels like home.

5 stars for food, 3 stars for atmosphere... Pulled pork nachos were delicious! My friend ordered the wings, and they were also delicious. Honestly, this place has some really great food. Pleasantly surprised, as I was unsure bc the atmosphere is slightly drab. I would highly recommend! Got to love those diamond in the ruffs! Oh...and BTW....GET THE MOSCOW MULE!

The place isn't much to look at from the outside, and you might have a hard time actually finding it. The decor is basic and has been around for a while. I was reminded of some of the cantinas we've visited in Spain and Italy. The food is down-home cooking; I strongly recommend their chicken meatball, which is the size of a softball, in an excellent gravy. It's only available on certain days. Our boys chowed down on the Snicker pie for dessert, yum! The service was perfectly fine and the prices quite reasonable. If we are ever in Johnstown again, we'll be heading over to the Phoenix for a home-style meal.

Great food and good service.. I have eaten here a lot and have never had a compliant. The wings are the best in town and the chicken noodle soup is one of the best I have had.

Excellent wings and friendly service. I met Dave who is an owner of the restaurant and he was very friendly. These are the best wings I've had in Johnstown. They are huge, cheap and they have many distinct and unique flavors that are delicious. They have a sampler of 16 wings for $12 that gives you two of each flavor. I loved all the flavors so much I couldn't pick a favorite. The rest of their bar food looked really good as well and sandwiches looked pretty big. I Highly recommend.

The Phoenix is one of my favorite places in Johnstown. In fact when we dined there today, it was 9:00pm on a Saturday night. I had started my morning at 4:00am in Buxton, NC and the promise of chicken ball Saturday kept me going. The inside is reminiscent of old hometown bars in the hay day of Johnstown but with a clean modern feel. The food is always amazing. The most amazing pulled pork and the chicken balls are something you will laugh at the name, taste, then fall madly in love with. Dave and Colette the owners are awesome and work super hard. I love that I can get a tonic water with lime as my drink and it's as normal as a soda! Also. The desserts are bombastic! Baileys Irish cream cake will change your life!

I work close to the Phoenix so it's a go to for lunch. Service can be slow, if you are eating in but the take out is always great. I recommend the chicken ball! I cannot say I have had anything bad from here. A personal favorite is the banana cream cake. All in all one of my favorite places for lunc

Great hometown feel, always a nice crowd, and the owner's often make you feel like you're the only guests in the establishment. The price on the food is an amazing deal and cannot be beat. Also a great location with ample parking. My only regret was not coming here earlier!

Great place. I was here tonight with a big group and all of the staff were super friendly and attentive. The food was great (especially the wings and pizza). They entire bill for the 30 of us that were there was extremely reasonable. Overall atmosphere is clean, fun and just an overall great place to go.

This is one of my favorite places to eat. The food is awesome. The desserts will blow your mind. The prices are reasonable. The staff is great. The service however some nights is very very slow...if it's a busy busy night, expect a long wait for your food.

A great mix of bar food and home cooking. Everything from wings to home made meatloaf. Best wings in town. Relaxing and casual.

Slow service, but above average revolving selection of homemade soups including an awesome seafood bisque on Fridays, and a changing menu of homemade desserts. Good sandwiches and weekly dinner specials including Wednesday Mexican night.
