This place is ok!!! You first walk in and you just get this vibe its dirty... The place isn't the cleanest! Has a weird smell to it!! The prices seem to be a lot compared to other hibachi places I've bene too! The food quality is par... The sushi is ok... The service is awful here!!! And you will get a side of attitude to go with that! It's alright for johnstown I suppose, but save your money and drive to Pittsburgh

At Fugi Japanese Steak House you are greater by a polite upbeat staff that always sets out to satisfy there guests. The meals are fantastic 9.5 / 10 times and is a good place to have a family gathering with entertainment or a nice quite dinner date. Most people come for the Hibachi grilling show or there fantastic shusi. I have only had one not so good meal their only because the chicken was dry but is normally tender and juicy. The sushi rolls and sashimi plates are always fresh and delicious even though we are not near the ocean. All around there food is spectacular and always delicious.

This is, hands down, my favorite local restaurant!! My daughter is five and we have been going together since she was 2. She calls it "our restaurant" the food is amazing, the sushi is great and the portions are huge!! We usually get a booth, it's much faster that way. The hibachi is great and fun with a group, but if you are just going for a quick meal, grab a booth. The place is very clean and the waitresses and chefs are very pleasant. The cost is a little more than some of the other restaurants around, but the food is GREAT and as I mentioned the portions are large!! If you go for lunch it's much cheaper, though the portions are a little smaller, they are still fulfilling!! Ask for extra yum yum sauce, it's the best! If your looking for some GREAT sushi the shrimp tempura is amazing!! (Breaded fried crunchy Shrimp, cucumbers, cooked rice) I would eat there twice a week if I could!!!!! They also offer take out! Their takeout is ready fast, I have never had to wait it's always ready! Just a great place to eat with family, date night, or a group of friends!!

The chefs that prepare the food on the hibachi are great. However, this place is dark, dirty and dingy. My waitress was very rude. The only thing I can commend it for is the chefs.

The place is very cozy and friendly with a friendly and attentive wait staff. All of the booths are very comfortable and there are numerous booths and tables. Seats at the bar or hibachis are also available. The decor is nice and lends to the atmosphere. There is a lot of different types of sushi to get here and you can get orders if various numbers per piece. Some of the sushi comes is various sizes and the rolls are pretty big and will fill you up. The rest of the menu offers a lot of nice cuisine to eat and try. The bar is equipped with a good variety of liquor, beer, and sake with drink specials running all the time. If you get a good seat at the bar, you can watch the sushi chefs make the food, something I highly enjoy. If you want a real fun experience, bring a couple buddies or a date and sit at the Hibachi. The chefs are top notch cooks who will whip you up a well-made, delicious meal while entertaining you with fancy knife work and juggling. Just keep an open mind and join in the sake guzzle and broccoli catch.

My two sisters, mother, and my aunt took me here yesterday for my birthday for lunch. Someone mentioned the restaurant is dirty/cluttered/Smells bad. When we first went in, I did think the smell was kind of funny. So I kind of didn't have great expectations... We sat at the hibachi. The waitress was very nice. They don't speak much English though I gather... She took our drink orders and got my sister's appetizer order. For the appetizers you mark it on a paper they give you. (Thought that would help in case it's your first time since that's a bit different) Then she takes your hibachi order. I had shrimp, white rice, and veggies. A few of us had chicken, fried rice, and veggies. The fried rice looked amazing. Lots oil and butter though. So if you're watching.. go with the white rice and don't eat it all! Once he makes the fried rice, like clockwork she'll bring out the white rice in a bowl for you. Then he put on the veggies and started on all of the meats. Of course he does the onion volcano. tosses brocolli into your mouth. Misses a lot but it's hysterical! And of course the sake bombs. :P (and you will end up with it down your shirt...so if you're fussy about that....decline). I've never laughed so hard at lunch. He definitely made it a a good time. Ohhh ..and they heard it was my bday so the waitress brought out a drum and sang along with us (complete with chachahca LOL) They also brought out a really cute little dessert in a boat with a candle and umbrella. And they bring an orange afterward as well.... There were only a few others in there since it was lunch time. Sounds like dinner gets a bit hectic. But I'd recommend!

This resturant not only is dirty, cluttered, and smells bad, but I'm not sure where they get their ideas on what Japanese food is. Take their nabeyaki udon for example; first look it up on Google so you know what it is and what it's supposed to look like. Got it? Now look at the photo I posted. What the heck is that? The only thing I can think of is that someone took the literal translation and tried to come up with a recipe. Call it pan steamed udon noodles served with soy sauce glaze and green onions and it might be close. Bottom line, if you want Japanese food you might as well make it yourself, that way you'll know who to blame if it's screwed up and you won't be out the bucks you paid this restaurant to deliver mislabled food.

This a great restaurant. The hibachi grill is very entertaining and extremely yummy. The portions are great. I've never left hungry. The price is average for this type of restaurant. Do the popularity, the wait is a little long. Not annoyingly long, but a little longer than usual.

Very good hibachi for being in Johnstown. You need to get reservations because this is not an easy place to walk into on a Friday or Saturday night. The chefs are a lot of fun and the wait staff is friendly. The Shrimp cooked on the grill is probably my favorite item, it is always cooked very well. Many of my friends enjoy the steak, the chefs are good at cooking the steak to your specifications. I only wish that this place were slightly less crowded sometimes, but that's because it is popular and people try to walk in without reservations. Great food and the prices aren't too bad. A great place to go with a group of friends.

The Fuji Japanese Steakhouse is located on the lower level of the Johnstown Galleria mall, right below the food court. There is an entrance from the parking lot as well as an entrance from inside the mall. The restaurant was clean and well lit, and the employees were very friendly and accomodating. Our chef was awesome- he did a really great job in not only preparing the food, but in entertaining as well. Warning, this is not a place to go if you just want to sit back and eat. It really is an interactive experience! Our chef flipped broccoli into our mouths and shot a stream of Saki from a squirt bottle into the mouths of those who were willing. A lot of great knife handling and fire working- we experienced the onion volcano complete with a squirt toy of water to "put the fire out". We had a really great time. The food was very tasty and well prepared. Even though our family is not very "cultural" in terms of food, most of the hibatchi entrees are meat combinations (steak, chicken, shrimp, etc) with noodles/rice and veggies. They also have a full menu of sushi; I was the only one in my party to order sushi and the rolls I had were very tasty. As it is with most hibatchi restaurants, the prices are a little higher than your average family sit-down meal ($18+ per meal). For a restaurant in Johnstown, its nice to see a little culture and variety in terms of the food selection. Will come back.
