This place has pretty good food for Horsham but is DEFINITELY not the best Chinese food by any means. Maybe for white people from Horsham it is.

LOOOOOOOVE Wing Lee! Great place to order delivery OR dine in- not many Chinese/Japanese places are like that around here. BYOB in the restaurant. The Mongolian Lamb and any sushi roll are my favorites. I also love that your meal comes with tea, crunchy wontons with dipping sauces, and fresh fruit at the end. You will not be disappointed!

I give this place 5 stars. Why because you can't normally get this kind of American-Chinese food in the burbs. It's that hard to find.. seriously. If you do find one it's no where near this place so I'm five starring this place for that. The food is absolutely consistent and consistently good...bang five stars. The owner.. he's the man.. bang five stars. My favorites are: Beef Ho Fun, Shrimp Egg Foo, General Tso, Dumplings, and last but not least Mongolian Beef/Lamb. Enough said.

First time here, reviewed Yelp first and it was an excellent choice. Service was good and food was very good, fresh and resonalbaly priced. We enjoyed ourselves completely. Phyllis J

Have only had carry out here, but done so numerous times. Great flavorful Chinese fare, and surprisingly delicious sushi (I always am leery of a Chinese place delving in Japanese fare). The highlight is the proprietor, who is one of the friendliest and gracious managers I've ever met at a restaurant. A smile is always on the guys lips!

My wife and I shared the lunch specials, General Tso and Chicken with Mixed Vegetables. Thoroughly mediocre across the board, though they get maybe a half star for the hand-made wantons in our soup, they lost that and more from breading gristle and serving it to us. I really don't understand the high ratings for this place. The atmosphere is only good in a campy sense, the food was only notable for an excessive use of sauce...I mean, the price was fine but you can say the same thing for a McDonalds.

Some of the best Chinese food in the area. All the regular stuff you'd expect is great and they have their own specialties. Top notch food, reasonable prices. Wing Lee himself is there most of the time and mingles with the guests -- great guy. Eat in or take out, you can't go wrong. When dining in you get unlimited hot tea and fried noodles. They are friendly towards sharing meals too.

Pretty good Chinese for the suburbs.

BEST CHINESE FOOD around! Dont bother trying somewhere else. A little pricey but well worth it. This is our favorite!!

I've had takeout and dine in here quite a few times and haven't had a bad experience yet. Sushi is good and so are the lunch specials. The food tastes fresh and you can't find too many places that serve General Tso's where it actually looks and tastes like chicken. If you do have a bad experience here then have no fear because Mr Wing Lee will put a smile back on your face real quick.

The waiter was friendly, but i felt rushed to order and to go. I ordered a hot and sour soup with my lunch special ,but he brought me a wanton soup instead. I didn't bother to exchange it. The wanton was not that good and tasted msg in the soup. The entree was better. I had a vegetarian dish and I liked it. I would give it another try.

Only ate her once so I'm giving it four Stars. I got the general sos chicken.. Most Chinese food places ur not really sure what your eating but it was definitely a white chicken inside. The it was really good. I think it's the best in the area. and the owner seems very nice

In a land of pizzas and hoagies and no good Chinese food options, Wing lee is one of the best places in Montgomery County. The owner is friendly and the lunch specials are good and priced well. Dinner is more expensive, but you get huge portions. The folks are nice to our family and always treat us well. We come at least once a week and will keep coming back.

Very good food and the owner is an excellent host. From the beginning he greeted my family with smiles and engaged my young kids with conversation He stopped by our table and challenged my son to rock, paper, scissors; which my son loved. I'll be back again.

This is my favorite Chinese restaurant ever. I've found it practically impossible to not order the General Tso's chicken. The chicken is so tender and fresh, very lightly fried, with a very sweet and slightly spicy orange sauce. A few perfectly steamed broccoli and some rice and you are good to go. The lunchtime portion is large and very affordable at $6.95. I'm going there tonight, and we'll see if I'll be able to resist the General Tso's and try out the sushi...

Still like it here....but didn't like the Sushi! I am going to stick with their chinese food though, it's excellent!

Was in the mood for Chinese for lunch. A coworker recommended this to me so I checked it out for take-out. It was awesome. I got shredded pork in garlic sauce and asked for extra heat. It was perfect for me. Huge serving! I ate less than half, so I have leftovers for another lunch. As Don G reviewed previously, the Hot and Sour soup was very good. I tend to use that as an indicator of a chinese restaurant's quality. I got an egg roll, too. It was actually a spring-roll, but was very good. It had shrimp in it. When I walked in, i was immediately impressed with the decor and layout. Very nice place. For takeout, it beats the heck out of those places where you walk up to the counter and say what # you want. This is not a takeout joint (which is a good thing,) but they definitely do it well. After I ordered and sat down to wait, I didn't even get a chance to finish a Sudoku on my iPod! I will definitely go here again, maybe eat-in next time.

I like this place a lot.... It is close to my place of work and the lunch specials are very good. The soup is excellent and the dishes are cooked/spiced correctly. The owner is friendly and I have nothing to complain...

Great lunch specials.... I got the General Chicken special... It came w/ Soup, Rice, and Fried Wontons served w/ Plum Sauce and Hot Mustard ... all for $6.95! Chicken is very lightly Fried and the perfect portion size. It is not the best I have ever had, but is definitely best I have had in the burbs. Atmosphere is nice inside and the service is great. It is also a good place for carry out. So go pick up dinner and get your wife some Lingerie from Spice's right next door :-)

Outstanding service and great food! Been there many many times and have never had a bad meal. VERY highly recommmended!

This is one of the best chinese around here. I have eaten here a few times and never had any service issues. The food is top notch and the owner is a relly nice guy. The hot n sour soup is the best around as is their singapore rice noodles. Try it you won't be sorry. And oh yeah they deliver - quickly!!

  • Beeg R.

I love this place! The food is good. Service is great. The owners are such delightful people. I grew up in HK, and so I know my Chinese food! This is one of the few places that can bring me home. My 3-yr old daughter polishes off her plate every time we go there. We try something new each time we go there, and every dish has been good.

  • Keith L.

The won-ton soup was good but then my main dish of Orange Chicken with Fried Rice arrived. The chicken mostly batter. I cut open the thickest part of this breaded chicken and it was just bread with some kind of brown meat that was very fatty. The Fried Rice was cold. Very bad dining experience.

For years, I've zipped past this restaurant because from the road, the small strip mall that it is in doesn't look like there's anything noteworthy at all. I only decided to try Wing Lee because I saw their listing in Yelp. When I got there, I thought it was rather funny that next door is an adult store with all kinds of lingerie-clad manniquins in the window, but hey, they can't choose their neighbors. Service was top-notch. We were first-timers at the restaurant and everyone, from the owner to the wait staff, took the time to talk to us. The server was also very attentive, filling our water glasses as needed and making recommendations on condiments, etc. As for the food, it was the best Chinese we've had in a long while. I actually had the Paha Thai Noodle, which was pretty much like Pad Thai, this time. It was tasty and the portion size was ample. All in all, I was impressed. I'd definitely return to this restaurant, after I'm done reviewing all the other Chinese restaurants along Route 611, of course.

Went here for the first time tonight, I've passed by this place for years and recently saw online, it was highly rated! So my friend and I decided to go. It was very good! It reminded me of an old school Chinese restaurant, which was nice! I really liked that they automatically bring you out a pot of hot tea. The brown fried rice was amazing! They use brown rice and it was delicious, win win! The only thing I disliked about my experience here was in a way they were trying to push us out. Which is why I'm giving them 3 stars. The restaurant was practically empty except for the other 2 tables that were occupied. They handed us boxes for our leftovers without asking if we were done. We then pushed them aside and began our conversation again, and the waiter came back over 15 minutes later asking about the boxes and then said he would bring us the checks. It was pretty rude. I would have given them 4 stars if it wasn't for them practically pushing us out. The food is good though.

Let's just say that you can very easily overlook this place. Right next door is a "SEX" store. And on the other side is a Pool Table store that doesn't look like it is doing good business. So if you attempt to go here, just overlook the neighbors, ignore the green carpet on the sidewalk and go in to see what you think. We went on a weeknight and it was about 8PM There were only 2 other tables occupied. My son comes here with his work crowd and said the food was good. I was a little dubious. But now I'm a fan....................... We had the sampler appetizers, honey mustard shrimp and chicken lo mein. Very simple presentation, the server was pleasant and I loved the shrimp dish. It may not be for everyone as the shrimp I believe are friend then slathered in a sauce that might turn some people off. The crunchy walnuts were the best. What was NOT the best was the noodles offered as you review the menu. Straight out of bag? I'll be back.

Great lunch specials. Decent tasting and good portion sizes. The flavor is a little off compared to most Chinese restaurants in Philadelphia. It's good Chinese for the suburbs. I got the General Tso's Chicken and the Beef Chow Fun. I do enjoy the fried wontons noodles they give you when you sit down.

Close friends generously shared their favorite Chinese restaurant with us and introduced us to its gracious owner. We have been entranced ever since. Wing Lee is nestled between an adult "amusement" store and a tantalizingly fragrant barbecue joint in an utterly nondescript strip mall. One could easily zip by Wing Lee, and that would be quite a shame. Distinguishing Wing Lee from its competition are the freshness of its ingredients and the chef's consistent ability to stop the cooking process just before the vegetables wilt. The sauces taste (and feel) like reductions instead of the typical corn-starch thickened offerings. We have enjoyed everything we have ordered or sampled, including General Tso's (a generous plate of large chicken chunks in a spicy Szechuan-style sauce surrounded by broccoli florets); Moo Goo Gai Pan (made with chicken paillards); barbecue ribs; and dumplings. A perfect finish is a gratis dessert plate containing a cleverly carved orange along with pineapple pieces.

Food is soooo good! I normally don't like eating Chinese because most places don't know what their doing, and the food doesn't taste fresh. Wing Lee blew my socks off! Food was great. I ordered the Wing Lee Four Seasons, a house speciality, and it was delicious. The scallops and shrimp tasted fresh. Wife had the duck and that was good. Place was clean and well cared for, and the service was awesome. The waiter was very attentive and made sure our glasses were full all night. It is a BYO and they also serve sushi! Will be going back again and again! Bit pricy compared to local Chinese slop, but the price of admission is definitely worth it. Owner makes an effort to remember regulars and maintains a very friendly environment.

Ordered take-out from Wing Lee last night and had no complaints. Food was above par Chinese food, but probably nothing I'd go out of my way for again. Ordered the Grand Marnier Shrimp, Beef Tip appetizer and Steamed Dumplings. Grand Marnier Shrimp was out of control delicious, Service was nice, people were friendly and I'd probably frequent this place if I lived a bit closer, but I don't so I won't, but if you do, you should!

Went there yesterday for the first time. I had a craving for dumplings so I Yelped "dumplings" and noticed Wing Lee had great reviews. I went and ordered two appetizers; steamed dumplings and chicken teriyaki on skewers. Both were VERY good. I can't wait to go back and try something else from the menu. Perhaps sushi!

I visited this place while on business in September since I was craving "east coast" Chinese. Actually very fresh ingredients, moderate pricing. Delicious dumplings. Very friendly service.

First time here on recommendation of a neighbor. Will visit again and hope to raise the star rating. Would say its a solid 3.5 stars. The appetizer sampler had delicious spring rolls and dumplings, however the chicken satay and spare ribs were very over cooked and rubbery. The crispy noodles provided to the table tasted like the ones you can buy in a can at giant - sad! Seafood gor ba was prepared table side and was tasty and included a small lobster tail. The honey walnut shrimp was very heavy and tasted like honey mustard dressing. Will go back and sample other items soon! Wing is friendly and greets each guest.

My husband and I stayed in Horsham as a last-minute decision so we took to Yelp to find dinner. I ordered before I read the negative reviews entirely so we decided to go inside together. Either the owner is reading his reviews or he's just had bad nights because he was extremely nice to us. We're an interracial couple (my husband Caucasian, myself Haitian-American). I was surprised to see how modern and semi-formal the dining room was. I mean, I just came to grab some Chinese food! He was also really personable with his guests. He must be a popular guy. I ordered takeout-- crab rangoon, general tso, and vegetable fried rice (my usual Chinese cuisine order). The crab in the crab rangoon was authentic. The crab rangoon was also not overstuffed, making it a perfect wonton-filling balance. The chicken was tender and the sauce was thick and flavorful. The rice threw me off a little because I never really come across vegetable fried white rice. Vegetable fried rice is usually cooked in brown or yellow rice. It was still good, though. The food was generally pretty damn good.

This is one of the best places to get American style Chinese food that is made fresh. My wife also loves their seafood dishes. We can never pass up their steamed dumplings. They probably have the best general tso's I've ever had, which says a lot. Their soups are fantastic. The owner is very nice and remembered me even after not visiting for a long time.

  • Kristina C.

They have the take out soy sauce that has no wheat in it! Their food is great, a group of us went and got the lunch special and it was HUGE! They are really fast too so going in on a lunch isn't hard. Their egg drop soup was great, the steamed shrimp and veggies was great, and everything that the other people got they said was delicious as well (and they at it all so that tells me something as well). The place has a nice atomosphere too! I felt like it was a great deal for my money and it is always nice to go to a restaurant and feel welcomed.

  • Joe M.

Some words i'd use to describe Wing Lee would be, authentic, comfortable, friendly, consistent and most importantly, delicious! It has all the authenticity of China town without driving to the city, there are a couple of other top end Chinese restaurants in the area but this one is the real deal and I can't see myself at any of the other ones after the experiences I've had at Wing Lee, an honest five star for sure!!

  • I. S.

Some of the best chinese food I've eaten recently. I ordered take out and received -Hot and Sour Soup - very flavorful, great balance between hot and sour, the soup wasn't gloopy, or too peppery that some chinese places like to do. -General Tsos Chicken and Shrimp - white mean chicken tasted great, huge jumbo shrimp. there wasnt too much breading and it wasn't overly sauced, it was a great dish. -Singapore Angel Pasta - very fresh tasting flavorful noodles with a curry flavor, mixed with pork, shrimp and veggies. tasted great. I def. will be ordering from them again.

A step, or two, or three, above your typical Chinese restaurant. Everything is always fresh and delicious. They definitely have more gourmet options on the menu in addition to the standard fare. Lots of vegetarian options...not just veggies in brown sauce. Wing is always very welcoming and makes a point to say hello to every table.

  • C L.

When you walk into a restaurant it's for one of the following reasons: A) You work there; B) You are delivering supplies; C) You are picking up a take out order or D): You want to dine there. The first three reasons did not apply to my husband and I the two times we went here for dinner so we don't understand why Wing Lee would say to us "May I help you?" in a condescending tone and looking at us like how dare we have the audacity to come to his restaurant. He did this to us both times we had dinner there. I have to agree with the other reviewers that the food is outstanding; however the ignorant behavior of the owner will certainly keep us from and future visits to Wing Lee. The first time we went there was on a Friday night and the place was crowded. We watched Wing Lee go to EVERY table to say hello to the guests. He never said a word to us. We went there for dinner a second time (against our better judgement) on 4/16/14. At the time there were only two tables occupied and those guest were just finishing up. So for a period of time my husband and I were the ONLY dinner guests in the restaurant and Wing Lee never came over to say hello or ask how we liked the food. Our sever was lurking in the background watching us as we ate. I felt like he was going to take my plate before I was finished if I put my fork down. As we were finishing our dinner a few more guests came in. Wing Lee went right over to them and started talking and laughing with them. He never even looked at us. When we paid the check the server came over and said thank you. When we walked past Wing Lee at the front counter he didn't say a word to us -- not thank you, not kiss my ass, NOTHING...NOT ONE WORD! In fact, he didn't even look at us and we just dropped $60 for dinner! Don't worry Wing Lee...you don't have to worry about us coming back to your restaurant ever again! Update 4/18/14: Based on the other reviews stating how friendly Wing Lee is I would have to conclude that he is prejudice against African Americans or interracial couples. I am African American and my husband is Causasian. That can be the only reason for him not to speak to us -- even though we were the ONLY customers in the restaurant on our last visit earlier this week.

Incredibly nice owner!! Menu is a bit overpriced, but the ambiance and the food quality makes it worth it. You could come here and have a nice, classy date night even with Chinese food.

I live in the DC area and visit PA to see my in-laws and friends. I was in the horsham area and want chinese food, and came across this restaurant on yelp. The food here is great! I ordered Beef Chow Fun and honestly it's the best I've ever had. My friend had the walnut shrimp and he said it's awesome. I'm originally from Taiwan and I've tried tons of Chinese restaurant in the DC area and honestly, Wing Lee beat them all! Will definitely go there again next time I visit PA!

The food is excellent. The service is great. But it's the experience the Wing provides. You feel like you are an honored guest and he may be a comic genius. Ask him to tell you one of his jokes. He had us all in tears of laughter. Once he gets going there is no stopping him. Absolutely fantastic. Go tonight!

Upon entering Wing Lee Cuisine we were greeted by a fish tank containing several bulbous goldfish - a good omen. We got soup to start. I wasn't crazy about the hot & sour soup, which seemed neither particularly hot nor sour, but my mom really liked her won ton. She said the dough they used was very light. The main course, however, was great. I had grand marnier mango chicken (one of the specials). The chicken was thinly sliced and very tender, and there were nice sized pieces of mango in it as well, which for some reason I wasn't expecting. My mom had orange shrimp which she said was excellent. The broccoli served with it was bright green and crunchy, and even the parsley tasted like it had just been picked. One of the employees (possibly Mrs. Lee) noticed us examining something in the orange shrimp and warned us not to eat the peppers (she mistook it for General Tso's.) It turned out to be a piece of orange rind (which she said we could eat.) Anyway I mention it because I like when people from the restaurant are friendly like this. It makes you feel at home. I was a little disappointed by the dessert offering; I remembered seeing on the menu ice cream, truffle ice cream, and fried bananas, but didn't recall all the details, so we asked. The waiter said they only had ice cream, so we passed. Maybe they were out of the other things. Also, he brought our check right after the meal, without asking about dessert. We often "save room" for dessert and get part of our meal wrapped up, but I guess he thought we couldn't eat any more. Despite the minor issues, I really enjoyed the main portion of our meal, and would definitely come back again.

This is by far one if the best restaurants I have ever been too, for the continuously great food- the gran Marnier shrimp is divine,, the sushi is always so fresh,,, the rock roll , and salmon skin roll being 2 of my faves- the owner Wing is the best. He interacts with his customers like a best friend having you over for dinner, making the dining experience even more of an experience. I would challenge anyone to have a bad experience here- it just won't happen. Enjoy !!!

This place is five stars all the way!!! Not your typical quality...the crab Rangoon is light and crisp, which is hard to find (usually it's tough and chewy). The general tso is fresh and more chicken than batter. The fried rice is tasty without sauce, which is also hard to come by. This place is a gem!!!

  • Jonesy C.

Tried for the first time last night. Had the chicken fried rice and Szechuan chicken mixed together, was the best I've ever had and I regularly frequent Chinese restaurants. The chicken pieces are outstanding quality. Wife loved her sushi and she is picky. Tuna was fresh and top quality. Highly recommend. Host was top notch.

Wing Lee is phenomenal! It is the best Chinese food I have had in the area (and I've tried a lot). I won't eat Chinese food anywhere else. The restaurant is not fancy, but I still enjoy eating in or taking out. Lunch specials are great. General Tso's, Lo Mein, and Pan Fried Dumplings are some of my favorite menu items, although I like them so much that I have not really ventured into trying other items on the menu. I have told many people about Wing Lee, and everyone that has tried it loves it!

  • Curt B.

Found Wing Lee on Yelp. High ratings well deserved. Hot and sour soup a bit too thick but delicious. Soup accompaniement "noodles" resembled out of the can chow mein noodles ( the only thing I can say was not enjoyable ). Wonton soup had typical 3 wontons with abundant filling and no "leftover pork" flavors. The noodle portion was tender and proportional to the filling. The chicken broth was rich and flavorful. Pan fried noodles with shrimp were excellent. The fried noodle to vegetable ratio was excellent with numerous succulent large shrimp. The sauce was flavorful and not overpowering. The garlic eggplant was wonderful. Eggplant was tender, flavorful and accompanied by a rich and flavorful sauce which was not sweet as some tend to be. The spring roll order (2), was very satisfying and was not oily. The staff were very friendly and "Ginny" particularly so. She said " if its not on the menu, ask and we will prepare it". I will return and would recommend this restaurant.

After braving the trick or treating hordes, we wanted to find a place close by for refuge. We settled on Wing Lee. With Ming's for Chinese and noodles in Hatboro and Ooka and Fusion around for sushi I thought Wing Lee was average. With that being said, the owner is a hoot and a half. Free noodle crispies and tea are served with your meal which I love. We ordered hot and sour soup and a spicy tuna roll for an appetizer. T had the hot and sour soup, the roll was for me and it was pretty decent. Not the best but not the worst. I did enjoy the little flower of wasabi on the plate. :) For dinner we had the spicy Szechuan beef and the mango chicken. Both were served with rice. For lack of better terms, we dubbed it "old people" Chinese. Everything was soft. The beef had a bit of a spicy tingle but there was no crispness to it. The chicken was kind of bland and, again, unappealingly soft with no sear or color of any kind. On the plus side? Nothing was too salty as sometimes happens with Chinese food. But service was excellent and, like I said, the owner a trip. If a group of people wanted to go back, I wouldn't say no but I'm not sure I would seek this place out for a return visit.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
