Spent a weekend in the Poconos at Lake Wallenpaupack. Found this little gem, about a 30 minute drive from the lake and near the local Walmart Supercenter. It is right on Main Street in Honesdale, which is apparently the birthplace of the railroad (learn something new everyday!). Very cute, old school diner. The decor is a bit cheesy but the waiters and waitresses are dressed like train conductors and very polite and friendly. The food is quite good and very CHEAP considering the huge portions. I got the vegetable wrap and tried their shrimp platter. All this for less than $20! The cole slaw that came with the shrimp platter was delicious and had chunks of pineapple, which was different but tasty. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here but 4 stars because it seemed like one of the best food options in the area

I go there at least twice a month for breakfast the portions are huge and very very good. I recommend the pancakes, again they are huge, and you get a lot of bag for your buck. I will continue to go especially for Sunday breakfast before church.

This place is a hometown favorite of many, the food is great, the prices are reasonable and it's such a fun place to eat a meal. The owner Jeff has done more for this community than anyone I've ever met. I enjoy supporting him as he has supported so many others.

One of the best breakfasts in the area and super reasonable. The pancakes and french toast are top notch

This is a really nice place to go for a lunch, dinner or breakfast. Jeff the owner is so enthusiastic about serving you and running the place that it rubs off on you. Prices are reasonable. Service is excellent. Food is neither gormet or too plain. Good place to take the kids and not spend too much or stop in for a quick but satisying meal. I would love it more if the coffee was a little better quality. It is very plain Jane. The burgers are a little too simple for me but many other dishes are excellent and can surprise you with the portion size or the hearty flavor. Such a wonderful atmosphere with a down home flavor!

Average deli average food. Nothing really fancy that stands out about this place decorations also dull. Will I return maybe cause the food was good but do not go expecting unique.

The BEST pancakes you will ever have! Jeff and his crew are super friendly and the portions are more then you can finish. Good food, good prices, and a terrific atmosphere.

Comfortable, well-worn luncheonette with a varied menu. Sandwiches, wraps, salads and specials at reasonable prices. The place is filled with photos, drawings by kids and info about local atractions. The couple that owns the place runs the place and that's good. My cheesesteak was big, hot and juicy. A cranberry/mandarin orange salad was colorful and satisfying. Key words here are cozy and affordable. Look for that and you'll be pleased.

Two words: pretzel bread. You must order a sandwich with pretzel bread. I had the Caboose Melt, which was roast beef (roasted in house), pepper jack cheese, bacon, lettuce and tomato. I loved it and would absolutely order it again. The atmosphere is very "diner", the employees wear themed outfits, and you can order breakfast the whole time they are open.

Exactly what you would expect from this type of place, and a bit more. The staff is extremely friendly and honest. If they recommend something, take the recommendation. They won't steer you wrong. First thing you should have is the French onion soup. The broth is quite strong. The cheese is melted with an actual torch making it melt perfectly over the top of the crock. Great soup. One of the benefits of going here is that the owner of the place is a cornerstone of the community. He seems to be involved in everything fun that happens in this town. In the back you can even but discs for disc golf. His prices are better then Amazon.

Trudy is the best! Love eating here when I'm in town! Check out the specials and save room for the pie!!

What a great little place this is! Eating at the Trackside is like going to someone's house for a good home-cooked meal in some earlier time zone. It's a classic "How are ya, Honey?" diner. We've never gone for breakfast, but some of our afternoon favorites are the Tuesday meatloaf, the belly buster fish filet and the liver and onions with bacon. Each comes with two sides. Aside from the tasty, reasonably priced food, the service is always way beyond good...so friendly and efficient. Don't cook! Eat here!

I love the food, service and atmosphere at the Trackside! It is one of my favorite places to eat and I stop for breakfast or lunch a few times a week. I especially recommend the Trackside for people hoping to familiarize themselves with Honesdale. The owners have done so much for our town and can give a lot of helpful information. Even I learn new things about Honesdale when I stop in! I realized how important restaurants run like this can be when you find yourself in an unfamiliar town. I am one of those people who likes to start driving off in a direction with no destination planned on my days off or when I just need to get away. I have found myself in wonderful small towns but find that the businesses are spread out to a point that it is impossible to find them by yourself in the time you have. Your whole day can change depending on how your breakfast or lunch goes. If the restaurant knows its own town they can help you find sweet spots that you would have otherwise passed by. Places like the Trackside can make your whole trip. Who doesn't like to know about the hidden treasures in small towns or just off the beaten path? They will even draw you directions if that is what you need! Thank you Trackside for your excellent service and dedication to Honesdale! :)

I checked in, but forgot to review. The pancakes are the size of your plate and SO FULL OF BERRIES!! Delicious experience in food as well as employees--as usual. Ask Jeff for some jokes, he's got a million! :)

If you get the chance, get a window seat. Good food, great place to learn about local history. If your interested in the history of Wayne County, this is the place you should eat. I didn't know there was a link to find the specials of the day. tracksidegrill.net/site/…
