Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

This place is good. I'm from louisiana but born and raised in New York. Growing up, New York style pizza was a staple. Unfortunately that kind of pizza isn't available too much outside of the northeast. When I found this place in the restaurant-challenged Hollidaysburg, PA area I was so grateful. Having tried their competition's food, I have to give D'ottavios the #1 spot. Their pepperoni or cheese only pizza is great!!! Order with confidence. You wont be let down if you're looking for a good pizza joint, and they deliver too!

This place is legit. There are loads of good Italian fare but one thing I wanted to remark on specifically is the french fries. The fries are killer and homemade bread is outstanding! Get there. Only one negative. The music they were playing was a bit intense for a lunch. Some kind of metal/hard rock station. I'm sure the staff chose it, but sadly they did so without the customers in mind.

Disappointing!!!! Why is it so difficult to provide tasty pies Strombolis and hoagies! Bland and lacking much flavor. Never had their dinners, hope they are better. Doubtful I'll try them. Come on Frank and Paul step it up.

Inexpensive pizza that still tastes great. What more could you want?

We always love D'Ottavios pizza, but our experience on the 4th of July was not so good. Our waitress was super friendly, but the guy making the pizzas needs to understand when he's complaining about people in the restaurant, we can hear it. They were busy, I guess because many other restaurants were closed being July 4th. Consequently our pizza came out a little undercooked. We asked to have it thrown back in for a few minutes. You would have thought we set the place on fire or something. Our waitress was fine with it, but when she took it to the pizza guy, "What!? Are you kidding me?!" No, we're not kidding you. We like our pizza cooked. Sorry. "Ugh, looks like we have ANOTHER table coming in. Jesus Christ. This is unbelievable." That's what he said at least twice when new customers were coming in to dine in. Totally unprofessional. To make it worse his girlfriend kept coming in asking what time he got off of work. Just was not a pleasant experience. It's normally a very nice place to eat and the pizza is usually great. Hopefully the owner realizes this pizza chef is costing them business and hires someone more capable of making pizza. If it weren't for us awful customers visiting he wouldn't have a job.

D'Ottavio's is probably the best Pizza you are going to find in Hollidaysburg. For $8.99 you can get a hand tossed Pepperoni Pizza... which for the price is great! What puts me at 3 stars is the other pizza joints in the surrounding towns that give them a run for their money.... but overall a decent place to grab a bite to eat.

I went in Saturday morning to order pizza and wings for lunch. I paid for and placed my order. A young man was very helpful taking my order to the car. Upon arriving home, the family ate - pizza so-so...the wings were greasy and raw.... be very careful. I do not know if the fryer was not up to temp yet, but they were really disgusting. They are one of many pizza joints in Tyrone, and others are much better, so I will not go back.

Very good pizza. Nice option for family dining or bar atmosphere. Bar is in a seperate room so you can have it quiet if you want. Friendly and prompt staff. Same ownership for 20 plus years. In the heart of historic Hollidaysburg.

My husband and I ordered take out from D'Ottavio's last night. We ordered a large cheese pizza, half plain and half with peppers and onions. The pizza came in the time they said it would (about a half hour) and the delivery man was plesant but that's where the good experience stopped. The pizza was cold and you could tell it sat in a car for a while as the cheese had started to congeal on the top. The crust was soggy and it was all around a terrible pizza. My husband and I have tried many pizza places around town and are constantly dissapointed for one reason or another. Looks like we will have to resort to making homemade pizza to get what we really want!

Never again!!! We had a few bad experiences but last night was it!!!! Sat for 15 minutes with zero service in an empty dining room. The 2 " servers" scurried away immediately upon our arrival. Finally we left but I relayed my complete dissatisfaction to the now 3 people standing behind the counter. They started what I can only describe as a 3 stooges routine.... I told her to do it, no you didn't, I didn't hear you, etc..... But considering the glassy eyes and slow response time I'm not shocked!!!! Never again!!!!!!!!!!!
