Ok here is the scoop... This is real homemade ice cream. It tastes fresh and is ultra rich, high butterfat content. Yes, it coats you mouth with dreamy fat molecules. That's why it tastes so damn great. Do not worry about fat and calories. There are a lot and that's what it takes to make killer ice cream. The vanilla is not boring. You should get it. I almost never do unless I know the place doesn't skimp on ingredients. They do not skimp here. There is real vanilla in this stuff for sure. Probably not much else other than milk, cream, and sugar. The chocolate is rich and not over sweet. The coffee tastes like coffee that is stronger, not that weak stuff you get from most. The coconut is just amazing! The shreds of coconut are everywhere and when mixed with the chocolate...otherworldly. Finally, the serving temp. This is where so many places screw the pooch. The temp is perfect. Not icy and not so soft it turns to soup when you leave. They should actually upgrade the spoons and cups to something more stiff to handle the texture of the product, but hey a minor miss. Bring your own damn spoons!

3+ stars This is a quaint, family-owned ice cream and gelati shop, located in a residential part of Hershey. The chocolate ice cream is especially good, and the cheesecake flavor is phenomenal (though, alas, they don't make it often). One lament: I wish they would offer traditional gelati flavors like stracciatella, Tiramisu, nocciola, and cioccalato bacio.

The best chocolate ice cream I've ever tasted. The texture was sooooo smooth. Not too sweet. Very creamy. Wish we had this ice cream back home.

If you're trying to find a sweet spot that doesn't serve Hershey's ice cream, then check out this mom and pop ice cream shop. Literally in a residential neighborhood, you will find the classics: vanilla, chocolate, teaberry and two classic Italian flavors accompanied by a plethora of toppings, homemade pizzelles in a waffle cone or dish.

We LOVE this place. It's the best place to get homemade ice cream in the area. They make their own ice cream and all flavors we've tried have been great, especially the Tortoni and the Birthday Cake. Their waffle cones are yummy too and their prices are affordable. I personally (and friends) didn't like their gelato, so I recommend sticking to the ice cream.

The other review that suggests not getting gelato is very good advice. I love the setting, but for $4.50, one scoop of gelato, in a cone, should be much much better. It had a texture and taste more like sorbet, and a grainy one at that.

When you live in a tourism-dominated town like Hershey, it's refreshing to go somewhere (especially in the summer) that is not completely overwhelmed. Mazzoli's makes great ice cream. Ice cream is better than the gelato. Flavors change regularly but everything we've had has been delicious. Staff are friendly, mostly high school kids, and it's clean and accessible. There's a lovely outdoor seating area where you can hang out and enjoy your dessert.

How we found this I can't remember. It is located in a residential area and from the looks of it started and remains in a modified garage. The ice cream was good, person working there was friendly, and there is a nice little sitting area. It is clearly locally own and feels like a place the locals go to. I would definitely go back.
