Chinese Cuisine
The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.

Poor China Wok is getting all the hate from local Yelpers! That's the great thing about Yelp, everyone has an opinion and this is the place to share it, haha. Anyway... As a reviewer, of course my opinion factors into a rating, but on the other hand FACTS are just as important to me. So for this review of my beloved China Wok, I will first give you facts, and then you can have my opinion. If quality ingredients, proper handling of food and the integrity of a restaurant's owners are important to you, China Wok scores 10/10. Back in August a food supply truck was pulled over for being 7,000 pounds overweight. It was supplying local Chinese places that many of the bad reviews hail as better than China Wok. That's cool with me if y'all want to eat spoiled food but I'll stick to China Wok because they have quality suppliers and too much dignity and pride in their restaurant to serve spoiled food to the Shenango Valley. Taken directly from the WFMJ article from August: "An inspector on the scene observed liquid running out of the rear of the truck's cargo area and detected a foul odor. The inspector opened the cargo door and found opened bags of raw chicken and meat leaking onto boxes and crates of seafood, vegetables, fruits and eggs. The truck was also carrying cleaning supplies in the rear according to the release." Now, my opinion on China Wok. The owners are nice people who work very hard and believe in providing good food. If you have a problem with your meal or something on the buffet, don't hesitate to speak up. They will make you another pan of whatever from the buffet if you feel like it's not fresh enough or if someone else picked out half of the ingredients, just ask nicely! :) I have been back in the kitchens on multiple occasions and everything is very clean and organized. It is no "Kitchen Nightmare" back there, haha. You are the consumer, you are supporting a local business run by real people who care about you as the customer and patron of their menu. If somethings not quite right or exactly how you want it, just open a polite dialog with them! Don't just sit there and brood, and write a crappy review because you paid for a meal you didn't enjoy and were to shy to do anything about it. Yelp responsibly my friends. P.s. A few of my fav things to order at China Wok: House Special fried rice made with white rice + add eggs. Moo Shi chicken. General Tso's extra extra spicy. Bourbon Chicken dinner combo. Double fried noodles. And for future reference, here are the nearby places that were receiving shipments from that gross truck I mentioned. Main Moon, Sharon, Pa. Tops Buffet, Hermitage, Pa. Golden Dragon, Mercer, Pa.

My husband and I are the buffet there one day. It was OK but I wasn't impressed. Not much selection for buffet, and what was there, well... Didn't taste like anything at all, really. The only dishes that tasted flavorful of your typical Chinese American was the General Tso's and sweet and sour chicken. My husband joked that maybe it's a lack of MSG? Lol and of that's a truth in its tastelessness, good fit them! :) however it was petty unappetizing for me. And the buffet utensils and take was sticky, which probably didn't help my appetite. Meh, Hermitage doesn't have much to choose from in Chinese cuisine, so I might go there again, but probably not. The staff was friendly though! :)

The food is good..service is good. If getting take out order it is quick and tasty. I never had a bad order from here. Only place in hermitage I eat Chinese.

Came in at 5:33pm. Which is dinner time. The food from the buffet was cold. Did not taste that great. Not a very big selection of food. The Hot Tea was good though.

China Wok has always been pretty consistent in making pretty good food. I'm confused why some people automatically assume that they use MSG when there has never been any evidence or indication that they do. I know that they have not used MSG for the past two decades. Popular favorites here include General Tso's, Broccoli Chicken, and Sweet and Sour Chicken. Their General Tso's is on the sweeter side and is very mildly spiced. The chicken in the Broccoli Chicken is always tender and the breading for their Sweet and Sour Chicken is very light and fluffy. My personal favorite is the Egg Foo Young.

Pros: Quick delivery Cons: The food WILL MAKE YOU SICK. I had chemical warfare in my stomach for 2 days after. They use MSG, peanut oil, and gluten for those with allergies. Food has an off taste: I ordered a General Tso's Chicken dinner and found it lacking in the flavor department, such as spice, boldness, garlic/chili flavor and salt that define a General Tso's Dish, and OVERPOWERING in sugar. SUGAR, SUGAR, SUGAR!!! They charge a $3.00 delivery fee WHICH THEY FAIL TO MENTION TO YOU. This fee is $3.00 no matter where they deliver, even if you live ACROSS THE STREET. I had a great deal of difficulty ordering and understanding the person on the phone because of a thick accent. The delivery man failed to follow directions when he got to my apartment, and was rude upon delivery. He urged for a good tip that he wasn't getting and was furious upon realization that I was paying his 3 dollar tip for the delivery instead. SOLUTION: Just go to Main Moon. At least it's a common franchise. Not much better, but at least you won't get sick. Seriously, I won't EVER go to China Wok again.

Best Chinese around. Tops has a bigger buffet but the food at China Wok is way better. I see Main Moon mentioned here. Main Moon is notorious for being horrible, they can't even heat soup properly lol

Went for the lunch buffett...5.60 cash was the only good thing...everything looked old...the taste was marginal....

Not as good as the Main Moon in Sharon. Was not particularly impressed with the staff this trip. Just because you don't speak the language doesn't mean you can figure out when someone is being rude and unprofessional.

My friends/family and I get food poisoning or at least severe indegestion EVERY time we come here, so maybe we just shouldn't go there. I am very tolerant of spicy/foreign foods so it's got to be something else. The food tastes good but it is not worth the stomach issues you WILL have.

Love this place. It's cheap and the food tastes wonderful. Love their buffet. It's clean, presentable, and there are delicious selections. The staff is fantastic and know their regulars by sight. I know that when my husband and I walk in our server always knows what we want to drink and that we're there for the buffet. The delivery is convenient but they are crazy busy and make everything fresh, so don't be surprised when your delivery time is in 45 minutes.
