Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

We walked in as a group of 9, and noticed they didnt have a table large enough to accommodate us. 5 sitting at a table and 4 sitting at a nearby booth. I ate here once prior, when the entire building was first built and I'm guessing they have changed hands. The space inside seemed smaller, and less decorated; as if they focused more on takeout or get more takeout then sit downs. 2 young waiters took care of us, and they seemed conflicted because they both were taking care of us. We had a regular in our group, and she even admitted to it being an off night. That we had to ask for garlic knots, and for our refills and straws. They did have a pretty extensive menu, however I wasn't too hungry so I didn't want to grab a full dinner. I had a slice of my friends pizza, and it was really good! However my food wasn't memorable, typical pizzeria burger and fries. Also we all got our entrees at different times. My friends pizza didn't come out with our good, I was literally done eating before he got his. There is a plus, the food was pretty cheap! My entire dinner wasn't even $10

This is one of our regular go-to places. Very affordable BYOB. Friendly staff and good food. I personally like the pasta with mushroom sauce (ask for it with extra garlic). The other pasta dishes are also very nice. (Wife recommends the Pizza Florentine). The garlic knots are Great! This is a friendly neighborhood place, not a fancy restaurant, which may be an issue for some people. As a regular I have to say that the one and two star reviews are simply not understandable unless you are expecting something a lot fancier...

Inconsistent food and pricey. Used to be decent when it first opened. Now I never know what to expect. Still order lunch on occasion due to convenient location to my wife's work, but really hasn't been good in a while sadly.

The food was good but the service was a little slow. We had to wait almost 10 minutes for someone to even ask us what we'd like to drink. We weren't offered water. My friend had to ask for bread. And it was a little warm in the restaurant. As I said, the food was good, large portions. I got the lobster ravioli. Not the best I've ever had but it tasted good. My friend got the chicken parmo- huge portion that looked good. She gave me her leftovers so I'll know how it is after I eat lunch tomorrow. ..lol...I would give them 2-1/2 stars but it won't let me do a half....

My husband and I have been here a few times, most of which were good experiences. The staff is always friendly and attentive. The last time I went in, I wanted to try the lasagna -- BIG MISTAKE. The meat was not seasoned at all and made the lasagna taste DISGUSTING. DO NOT GET THE LASAGNA. The garlic knots are good, and everything else has been decent. Pretty disappointing.

My husband and I have been to Victorian Village Italian Bistro since it re-opened. The food has always been great but the service is so-so. On a busy night (Monday 2 for $20 and Wednesday AYCE Mussels) if you are not one of the regulars service is very slow. The servers spend way too much time chatting with regulars and pretty much ignore everyone else. What keeps us coming back is good food and more than adequate portion sizes. Definitely recommend this place for affordable, casual Italian dining now that Toscana's has closed. Update 6/11/14: We went here for dinner tonight for the last time. We got our drinks with no problem and I my soup came out fairly quickly. Once the waitress brought our entrees to the table, the only time we saw her was when she was talking to all of the other customers. She never came back to our table to ask how everything was or if we needed anything. After we finished eating we stacked our plates on the table -- the 2nd waitress watched me do this but did nothing because she was stuffing her face. My husband, who is diabetic, waited for his drink to be refilled so that he could take his medicine. I had to share what was left of my drink with him. So we're sitting there like to idiots waiting for the waitress to bring our check but she is too busy being chatty Cathy with the regulars. I had to go up to the counter and ask for our check. When the waitress came by she apologized but by then it was too late. Needless to say she did not get a tip (I certainly wasn't going to tip her for talking to other customers) and Victorian Village Italian Bistro lost us as customers.

To start on a positive note their eggplant parmigiana is delicious and you receive a large portion for the price. The pizza is okay, buffalo shrimp salad is yummy and it's BYOB... If you purchase an entree you get a complementary glass of cheap wine! And there is also always a coupon in the clipper magazine! Where it all goes down hill is with the service. Very inexperienced wait staff, slow, and I've had to get up a couple times while dining to find the server to get things we needed. What really threw me the one time i ate there was when I looked at my bank statement and saw I was charged an extra $10!! I clearly left no tip on the card but instead a generous cash tip! Yet my server felt like he deserved an extra $10 so added it to my debit card! Management fixed the issue and when I reluctantly returned with my boyfriend who enjoys their food... The server was still employed. We paid cash on that visit and will probably never return again.

Terrible service, we sat for 10 min., had to get up & ask for water. Had to ask to someone to uncork our wine bottle. The place was not crowded at 6:30pm on a Saturday night. We all ordered soup which comes with the entrees. We had to ask for silverware & napkins, finally got our entrée's except 1 of 4. Our friend's wife sat with nothing in front of her while the rest of our food was getting cold. She waited a good 8-10 minutes. In the meantime, they brought a plate of ziti which comes with my wife's entre, and after putting it in front of her and coming back to the table a minute later, the waiter informed her that it's for another table. My wife said, are you really going to serve this to another person after having it at our table? Waiter said, you're right, just keep it. When we got the bill, it should have been for 4 entrée's which included soup & pasta, (including ziti) but we were charged separate for all those items. Our $60 bill was now $90+. after informing the waiter of his mistake, he promptly gave us a corrected bill. The food was pretty good, but we won't be back. Also, we asked for boxes to pack up leftovers. 4 flimsy boxes and no bag! I almost dumped it while walking to the car. Also, the parking lot is ridiculous. It wasn't busy at all, and we barely fit into the one last space of a tiny lot in front of the stores. The spaces are so tight, it's almost a sure bet someone will bang their car door into your car. I had the impression that most of the workers were inexperienced. Also, they had too many face piercings & tattoos for our taste. Kinda creepy. We'll go elsewhere next time.

I wish I had paid better attention to Dave's review, he was dead on with everything he said. To add to his review, the night I attended this restaurant they were out of soup. It was 6pm on a Saturday and they were OUT of ALL their soups. My date asked how their vodka sauce was, and our waiter assured us it was tasty. She ordered gnocchi and vodka sauce and received a white wine and garlic dish. Mistakes happen, but when we asked about the vodka sauce, we were assured this was correct. No tomato sauce or cream in the dish at all! Being assured we had received the right order when I have a smartphone showing the waiter what a vodka sauce is makes this a poor excuse for an Italian restaurant.
