Nice dive. Good vibe, feels comfortable, and attentive service. I've been here a few times before and I enjoy my experience. This obviously isn't a full review, just noting that I'll be back when I'm around.

Very Cheers-like atmosphere. Have gone to wing night twice now and they're amazing! Great favors and nice staff. Clean and cool, a nice place directly off of restaurant row in Harrisburg.

The food is pretty junky. The drinks aren't that strong, and it's loud and dive-y. From what I have heard (I haven't lived here that long), the Stromboli used to be bigger and the dough, much better. It's not the worst place in the world, if you go, you will have a meal. However, there are other places in the area that are much better, like McGrath's pub.

My favorite place in Harrisburg. I have gone here once month for 15 years. Great food and service. Met many super nice people over the years. Friendly welcoming place.

Has the feeling of a tavern complete with cigarette machine in front. Great $2 draft specials at happy hour. Food specials at certain times/days, such as $2 off burgers.

The Midtown Tavern has solid wings and beer with great specials. I really like their garlic parmesean and old bay wings. Their fries are a great cut; really crispy and thin shoestring style. I recommend going on 50 cent wing nights, ordering 2 flavors/ten wings and trying a friend's as well to see what you like! Split a basket of fries and get the beers on special to end up full without dropping too much cash! (They do charge extra for blue cheese/celery on wing nights just fyi!) The only reason I wouldn't give this place 5 stars is the service. They could step up their game a bit with the waitstaff.

Finally tried Midtown Tavern after hearing about it for a while... On Monday, Wednesday, and Sunday they have a 50 cent wing special. The wings were pretty good with a variety of sauces to choose from. I had the hot garlic (pretty good) and the hot (also good). They let you split the order, so you can get 5 of one sauce and 5 of the other. Small selection of draft beer, but with good options (I had Sierra Nevada Pale Ale on draft) and solid nightly specials on beer and food. It was bigger inside than I thought it would be and they had a couple of pool tables. They're open late pretty much every night. I'll be back to try some more sauces. Update: Went back for more 50 cent wings... Had the Suicide wings- delicious! Excellent hot sauce, spicy but with great flavor. I started with 5 of that and 5 of Spicy BBQ (decent, but kind of thick sauce.) Ended up ordering more Suicide! Also want to give a shout out to the fries- they are awesome. Very skinny and crispy, one of my favorites in Harrisburg.

I've been to Midtown Tavern on numerous occasions, and never had anything below or above average here. Their wings are good, beer on tap is the norm (Bud, Yuengling, Miller), and the service is what you'd expect at a bar. It takes a fairly long time to get food no matter what you order, so make sure you have plenty of time to wait!

Great beer selection. They regularly stock Belle's Two Hearted Ale, which is one of my fav's. Happy hour specials are usually pretty impressive, especially the $2 Troegs seasonal pints from 5-midnight.

The perfect local bar with local brews on tap and good food. Be sure to check out the jukebox for a few good tunes. Check out there menu here - midtowneats.com/midtown-…

Midtown Tavern is a great local Bar - Grill - Pool tables, TV for the games. Live Music on Saturday with no cover. Ambience is very dark. Food is above average, I enjoy the Stomboli. Do wish that the Cider selection was other than Adam & Eve, Just can't get into that brand.

Since this was on my list of places to try in Harrisburg, I brought my husband here for lunch while he was in town. My mother in law had came to visit and this was her last stop here. Inside, this place is clean and pretty cozy - I liked the styling of it and felt comfortable there. That was the best thing about the place. The food is mediocre at best. We shared from fried potato pancakes which were good - but nothing overly impressive - and the sour cream was still partly frozen. I ordered tomato soup and had the first experience in my entire life where something was so terrible I sent it back to the kitchen - it tasted like they poured a large bottle ketchup in a bowl. It was maybe thicker than some ketchups. I don't know - I hate ketchup and tomato soup should never taste that way. My mother in law's chili was spicy beyond belief - lots of jalapenos. My husband had the only decent thing at the table - a philly cheesesteak stomboli that was actually good - good tasting crust and good fillings - I can say that was a pretty great thing - but I still have had better in the past. From what I saw, their beer/drink selection wasn't anything to draw me back (not much on tap other than the normal Bud/Miller/etc etc) To top it off, there was only one other table there, and it took about an hour to get our food, and about an hour and a half once we ate and left (we ate fast) which just sent me into more of a nervous fit since I sent my meal back (I hate confrontation) and had been out of my office longer than I would have liked. I wouldn't say I'd never go back, but I'm not coming out of my way to get here again.

Been going here for years and the food is consistently very good. A lot of locals and that says something. My only draw back is the service is a little slow and the staff never really smiles. Gotta have the wings and fully loaded nachos. Bangin!!

This review for beer only! This place is great. Consistently nice, friendly service; fantastic list of beers both bottled & on tap. Happy hour is very nicely priced. Pool tables, large screen TV & smaller TVs throughout, pretty track lighting. Overall, good neighborhood spot. I've not eaten there but I haven noticed the extreme lack of vegetarian options. Being a veggie-muncher it's sad to see such limited options (basic salad & cheese pizza unless it's fried) & hope they add more veg-friendly options soon so I can grab some dinner while I enjoy my beers. Entrance is under blue awning, up the handicap ramp. Sadly, where all the smokers stand which sucks for us non-smokers having to walk through that to get inside. But I love that it's nonsmoking inside throughout the bar! Yeah!

Always good food. Lots of choices on the menu. It is very noisy and service can sometimes be a little slow, but we are never in a hurry. Wings are awesome and always good brews on tap! Can't beat the prices!

Great little midtown bar. Doesn't turn into a dance club and is a great place to hang out. Bartenders are all very cool and friendly. This place has some of the best wings in town and have some great beer and wing specials during football on Sundays.

They have a decent beer selection, and the food is OK (great wings!) but the service is absolutely terrible. I cannot tell you how many times I've been one of maybe a dozen people there and have waited close to an hour for my food. It often comes out cold. If you're looking to grab a beer somewhere, then it's a fine place to be. Otherwise, your best bet is to try somewhere else.

I love the tavern! Their food is great and they are non-smoking (I won't eat anywhere that allows smoking) Their prices are very reasonable. My only complaint is that service is very slow. I've waited almost an hour at times for food to arrive. Drinks are generally pretty quick, but food is SLOW.
